We ordered a takeout tray for 2 that included 2 miso soups. I loved the variety of fish that was included in it and was very fresh. The portion of miso soup was enough. The tray came with everything we needed including chopsticks, ginger soy sauce, ginger and Wasabi. One of my favorite sushi spots. Food is always so fresh and the rolls are packed and thick. They have some pretty decent specials which I like including the 50% off sushi rolls on certain ones each day. Came in for a late lunch with some friends and were seated right away. The waiter was really good and we didnt have to ask for anything. I ordered a few rolls including a shrimp tempura roll, chicken tempura and a sweet potato roll which Ive never tried before. New place that recently opened in a former bakery space and some other prior business. It's right next to Benny the Bums Seafood which has been around for some time, so I guess this space just needs the right tenant to stay open for a while. For now, they offer their standard rolls @ 50% off, and special rolls @ 20% off. I do not know how long this will last or it is a marketing gimmick. They have it right in their take out menu so I think it is the latter. I had a total order of $21 for 1 special roll (Red Lobster - Asparagus, avocado, crunchy inside, spicy lobster on top) and 3 regular (Crunchy Spicy Scallop, Shrimp Tempura, Shrimp Avocado). All of the sushi was average with nothing to absolutely rave about, but it certainly was not bad. I would go back for a sushi fix. The restaurant was dark inside with a wooden bench for waiting for take out. It seats about 40. Staff was pleasant and well tempered to deal with the jackass who had so many specifics for the $100 order he wanted for takeout. Even I was getting angry with his belittling the staff. I hope they got everything right! I'll have to try the non-sushi offerings someday. read more

I usually frequent this place for the sushi, which is very good. (Something to note this review is not based on the sushi!) I tried the chicken teriyaki, and I honestly wish I would have just gotten my usual california roll. The chicken was extremely dry and the "vegetables" that came with my meal (2 broccoli spears and 2 pieces of carrot) were just horrible. This girl s my first time ordering from here, I order the Chicken (5 oz) & NY Steak (4 oz) Hibachi. Well honey that was not what I received, when I got home and open the food all I could see was mushroom mushrooms and zucchini. I got more mushrooms mask as steak and chicken than the actual meats. My party of two stopped here last weekend for a quick lunch at 1ish on Sunday. The restaurant was completely empty aside from us. We were seated immediately of course. The server gave us menus and took our drink order very quickly as well. They don't have any lunch specials on the weekend so I ordered an app and sushi off of the regular menu. We ordered the tempura app which came with to shrimp and a few veggies. I also ordered the fried spicy salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll and California roll. This sushi spot is the closest one to me so I always make a stop about once a month. When I dine in, the waitress is always friendly and attentive and it has a nice ambience. The prices are extremely cheap because they seem to always be 50% off for rolls which makes this place even more enticing. Overall pretty good! Ahi Sushi makes me feel like I'm back on Ventura Blvd. Lots of excellent sushi and rolls, with most being 50% off. And the rolls are a good size too. What's not to like? I remember when I was younger, decent sushi was expensive and reserved for special occasions. It's not like that here. I don't understand Philly's fascination with Old Bay Seasoning. It's really not for me. There's the Double Crab roll and it has sprinkled Old Bay Seasoning on it. So if you're into that, enjoy. If not, well, now you know. I especially liked the tuna sushi and yellowtail sushi. The under control roll was particularly good and the sakura roll. I've already been back since trying it last week. They lost my business! "SUGGESTED GRATUITY!" What a scam! Been there a few times & never disappointed until yesterday. The prices jumped, okay as expected but too much. I always placed a generous tip in jar upon leaving. After all, the guys behind the sushi bar did all the work! Okay, ready to settle up my bill at register. That hostess person persisted tapping "her" finger on the check after paying required tab. Insistence was the printed; "suggested gratuity" nonsense. A first encounter of such there. So, I'm to pay for the privilege of eating there?! After tipping the behind the bar guys?! Screw them! I told her the unnoticeable check bottom print was "SUGGESTED"! As in; "not mandatory", "not compliant" and my choice not to! The b*t^h was animate with her finger tapping the tab check beside the money owed. I place another $.50 on the money & walked out! It's a business! They should welcome & oblige any patronage! If "they" would display appropriately, conspicuously above the hostess station this so-called "SUGGESTED GRATUITY" charge; I wouldn't have patronized the place! Ordered the food for delivery and it did come very fast. However, I requested ginger and soy sauce none were given. One of us also has a selfish allergy and order a separate roll then me because of that and they ended up putting them all together we did not specify that but thought it was a little weird. Then tried to have us pay again after already paying online. We explained that we paid online and then continued to ask if we put a tip on the card or if we're going to give him a tip in cash. I am very skeptcal trying sushi in places I've never been - but who knew that there was good sushi in Northeast Philly? I picked this place based on the yelp reviews - but I am glad I went here and tried it! I got the dragon shrimp tempura and spicy crunch tuna. A plus about this place is that they use less rice on the outside - its a thin layer. There was more fish than rice which is always a plus! Saw this place when I stopped at the ACME that's right next to it and was drawn in by the 50% off sign. A good portion besides the sushi is 50% off. The classic roles, which the rolls we ordered are from, are pretty cheap. On sale they were all between 2.75 to around 4 dollars. Pretty good for sushi if you ask me! Brown rice was .50 cents extra which is pretty standard. The salmon and avocado used looked fresh and tasted pretty good. The shrimp was a little chewy but was pretty tasty as well. The soy sauce they had was less salty than I was expecting but that's not necessarily a negative (depends on one's preference). Service was good and the place was clean. A bonus being that the bathrooms were very nicely decorated. This place was not out of this world but a solid choice for sushi if you ask me, and at a very good price!!! I had just finished a service call across the street from this place. The 50% off sushi banner intrigued me so I stopped in. The interior was clean and well decorated. I was seated right as I walked in and started to peruse the menu. They have a lot of sushi options and I picked (3) rolls. They were average and normally I would have given this place two stars but I added one for the lower prices. If I'm ever in the area and need a quick sushi fix I would stop by again but wouldn't come for dinner. read more
