With a plethora of poke places in the Greater Los Angeles area, ahipoki bowl was recommended to me from a friend who enjoyed their poke bowls. And looking to try some more poke places in the area. I found myself at the Glendora location on a Tuesday evening around 8PM. Walking into the restaurant, there were no people eating inside when I arrived. But nonetheless, I decided to order a bowl with 6 scoops that consisted of two scoops of Salmon, two scoops of Limu Tuna, and two scoops of Octopus. I then decided to go for the spicy creamy sauce, masago, edamame, crab salad, seaweed salad, sesame seeds, crispy onions, and furikake. This total came out to about $24 in total. From a quantity perspective, there was a lot of food in the bowl with a majority of protein. And after the meal, I was most definitely full. But for the $24 price tag, definitely consider seeking other options or ordering less. One could argue that the cost of seafood is much higher considering the price of fresh fish. But with typical meal price around $15-20 in this area, there are plenty of other options you could do better with. Overall, the poke bowl was pretty good all around. But while some items shined through, there were others that fell through the cracks. Beginning with the meat, the salmon tasted good as it was soft and cold with a subtle flavor. But with this, I questioned the freshness of the food overall. The octopus tasted chewy and had some moisture to it which was fine. And tasting the limu tuna, it tasted firm and fishy. But without any pieces of seaweed in the limu tuna, I was asking whether it truly was limu tuna poke at all. Out of any of the meat items, the masago and crab salad tasted the most fresh with the mayonnaise bringing in lots of flavor. The sides were pretty fresh overall and they paired well with the bowl's fish choices. But although they were fresh, they didn't elevate the fish by much more. After eating here, I ended up having stomach issues which complicated my feelings about this place much more. With a higher price point to feel full, the price to portion ratio is definitely in question here. With fish that was only somewhat faithful to its origins and the quality in question, I'm not exactly sure what went wrong. But because the service was fast and the generous scoops of vegetable and side items, I'd argue ahipoki bowl is pretty decent at a solid 3 star rating. If you're into different variety selections and are in the Glendora, ahipoki is an option that might be worth a try. read more

Honestly, this place really loads up on all the ingredients. We ordered the 3 scoop poke bowl and it honestly felt like the server gave us more than 3 scoops which I'm very thankful for. Same applies for toppings, it felt like she gave us more than a scoop of each! You can choose however many toppings you would like. They have a wide variety. The fish tasted fresh and well seasoned! Service was great. Two 3 scoop bowls came out to about $38 but you can honestly make two meals out of it considering how much they give. The restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seating! Would recommend if you're looking for a quick dinner! read more

Visited here after a hike which ended up being the best decision ever. The bowls were so well-portioned and they don't hold back on the scoops of proteins. I always order half white rice and half salad for the base and it was evenly split up between the two. The scallops specifically were the star of the show as they tasted super fresh and had a nice flavor to them. It wasn't too packed inside so ordering went fast and there was lots of seating available. Love this place! read more

I came on Valentine's Day to treat myself since I haven't had poke in a while and I was already in the plaza. Unfortunately shortly after finishing up my meal and leaving I become super red and hot in the face with a huge headache. Once I made it home and looked at myself in the mirror I was red all over my face and upper body and had an extremely upset stomach with nausea. Turns out it was Scombroid poisoning aka histamine fish poisoning. Such a bummer but safe to say I will not be returning. read more

The food variety is different and delicious. I specifically chose the Tuna Lava. The meat was nice and cold. The service lady was sweet. They don't get stingy on the toppings which makes it worth is as well. Place is nice and clean. Wish the AC worked better. No one likes to eat raw fish in a warm restaurant...I don't!! But I like the quality nonetheless and I continue to come here for some good tasting poke. read more

I dined at this restaurant last week where I purchased a bowl which included a massive amount of rice with two scoops of sides. It was good so I returned today. I initially ordered the salmon and the rice was a child's portion? Floating in extremely salty sauce. The salmon smelled tertible-fishy. I returned back to the restaurant and in place got shrimp again a very small size portion of rice that was swimming in the sauce? Do not recommend using uber eats to order as you can't ask for sauce on the side and they forget things. My order was missing the drink and hugely overdressed to the point that there was a lot of excess liquid leaking out of the container into the bag. Also they use raw octopus here instead of cooked, which is a much less pleasant taste and texture than cooked octopus. I was really hungry but didn't enjoy much of any of my meal. read more

saddd, i always love coming to this location for my lunch breaks between work. ive never had an issue with the staff until today.. she has black hair and a bunch of different rose tattoos. Well, she saw me come in right after a dad and his daughter(another coworker immediately started helping them) and but she immediately checked to see if there was any online that printed from their machine, and started doing literally 2 orders in front of me. Started pacing back and forth, looked like she wanted to do anything but help me or the person behind me. she left her male coworker to do majority of the orders from what I saw. It looks like good reviews are dependent upon the customer service. On this day, a Sunday afternoon at 2pm, the restaurant was moderately busy. Two table had customers eating and after I walked in, three more customers trailed in. The tuna and salmon containers in the refrigerated counter were almost empty and had to be refilled. The two young ladies did the best they could. My 3 protein scoop to go bowl with salad and brown rice was very generous fir $15.99. The ingredients were also fresh and best of all, they don't charge extra for crabmeat topping, like some poke places. read more

I paid 15% tip as "reccommended" by Reader's Digest. In the real world, you don't have to pay for takeout because you are providing the pickup service yourself. I didn't mind this time because the server I had was actually patient as I placed a combination order not just for myself, but also for my daughter. read more

It's very hard to find good poki spots when it comes to seafood it's pretty hard for me to trust a new place, The food is very fresh here they have lots of options even for people who are trying to stay within their keto diet, They're Spicy Tuna was amazing it wasn't too hot but the flavor was just so satisfying to me and instead of the rice I selected kelp noodle as my base which surprisingly was pretty good as well, two thumbs up from me! read more

Customer service could be better. There was no one before us meaning the server has nothing to do before we got here. I felt really rushed since the beginning which I'm not sure why? It's my first time here and I need to see what selection I have or how the menu works. Throughout the ordering process i was rushed to move through the line "what else, anything else" seems to be the mandatory line here. I've never been so stress ordering food before until I visited here. The way the server staring at me while waiting for my selection was hilarious. It's not like there were 10 people behind me . If you're craving fresh fish poke, grilled salmon or spam rolls... ahipoki has a big selection! It is about $15 per person. If you try a drink I really recommend the Guava or Thai Tea! I usually go for the 2 scoop bowl with brown rice but sometimes I go half salad, half rice. My personal favorite is the Tuna Luau for my first scoop and then fresh salmon for my second. My personal favorite sauces are the house and spicy creamy mixed in and I always add the crispy onion flakes. These guys do charge for things like avocado but you can add a scoop of imitation crab for free! They have tons of indoor seating and there are outdoor tables available for all the shops on the plaza. It's right next to T-Mobile beside the Chili's if you can't find it! read more

Solid restaurant. They have plenty of options if you're in the mood for poke but want a little more. They have rolls, a wide variety of options, boba, and the place has an overall chill vibe to it. Came here the other day to get myself some Poke. I went with the regular bowl which comes with two scoops of protein. I went with the Tuna Luau and Blazing Salmon which are my faves. I think chose the house, house spicy, and spicy creamy sauce. For the toppings i went with cucumber, edamame, masago, seaweed, jalapeno, and crab meat. I then topped it off with some more spicy creamy sauce....bomb! They should call this the Rafeek Bowl. read more

There are three businesses all clustered together, each with a separate entrance, so I ended up accidentally parking in a private doctor's office lot and was told to leave. Eventually, I found the small parking lot with just four or five spaces so if it gets busy, it might be tough. But once I got inside, it was worth it! I entered from the back door, which passes through the restrooms on the left and the kitchen on the right, leading to a cute seating area. It's small but super cozy, with a lovely bar filled with lemons, napkins, and lots of hot sauces at each table: at least seven or eight types! But the real star here is the food. The tacos are absolutely incredible! fresh and full of flavor. I ordered three: carne asada, fish, and shrimp. The fish and shrimp both have the option to be fried or grilled, so I went with fried, and they were fantastic. The flour tortillas were perfect, and I also got a pineapple agua fresca. it was ice cold and so refreshing. The price was really reasonable, and I'm honestly surprised this place isn't more popular. I can see it being a hit so, definitely, I'll be coming back soon!

Cabo Tacos parking situation is definitely a challenge. There's a lot in the back, but it's super limited and super cramped. Lucky for me I found a spot. The location was slightly busy during the lunch rush. There's plenty of seating inside with a mix of tables and counter top seating. Also, there's an outside patio with tables too. They have free water, a refrigerator for drinks and self serve bar for lemons and peppers The staff was helpful and answered all my questions on the Taco Tuesday offer. The orders took a bit of time, due to the flow of customers. I orders 2 chicken tacos for the $1.99 deal and 1 fish taco. The cost came to around $8!! Crazy good deal! To note: there is a 3% charge for using credit cards. The tacos hit the spot. The tacos were packed heavily with cabbage and salsa. The flavors were addicting and the salsa was a great pairing. The fish taco was bomb! I love Baja style fish tacos because of the crispiness and texture. Everything hit the mark and everything is made fresh to order. I saw they offer $1.99 fish tacos on Wednesday so I might need to return again. Overall, Cabo Tacos was a great lunch spot for me. I'd add them to the list of local Taco Tuesday spots! ( ^_^)b

If you're a light eater, this could feed 2 people!! I would order a different pho next time though as the broth was pretty clean (didn't taste too salty) and they do offer extra noodles for free! I ordered the Tai Lan, which is a fun cross between phở and a noodle salad. Sliced tender ribeye sits over garlic oil phở noodles on a bed of greens and fresh herbs, tossed with a shallot tamarind sauce, topped with crispy garlic, and served with a side of their 24-hour bone broth to sip or pour over. The ribeye was genuinely tender, the tamarind sauce had a nice tangy-sweet kick, and the crispy garlic tied it all together. Added some sriracha for a little more flavor and to give it a kick. Best phở I've ever had? No. But it's a clever modern take and I left very full and very happy, which is exactly what I needed. And if phở isn't your thing, the menu sprawls into wagyu phở, garlic noodles with filet, lomo saltado, sandwiches (which look amazing) and even Vietnamese coffee with sea salt foam. Plenty to explore. This is now the first spot I'd send anyone to in the Glendora Public Market, and a real step up from the ramen place that used to be in the same space. Already plotting my return.
