Ahmed has been one of my go to spots for Indian food for quite some time now and a bonus is that this location is very close to my house! Located in a small strip mall off OBT with plenty of parking and easy access from the main street. The inside itself has plenty of seating. The decor and furniture are a tad bit outdated but at least the inside was clean. We were seated almost immediately and our server was very quick and attentive! Now I have been here for both the lunch buffet as well as for the dinner menu and both are really great options. All the items are reasonably priced.. entrees ranging around $13-$16 each. During our last visit I got my usual order of vegetable samosa, both aloo and garlic naan, chicken palak, and chicken briyani. The vegetable samosa and naans came out piping hot. There is absolutely nothing like eating a freshly made naan... it's literally heaven!! The chicken palak is a spinach curry... which I got hot because I love spicy foods and the chicken briyani is a seasoned rice dish. The spices in both of those entrees were very good, it was like having an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Overall, I would say this place is a pretty solid option for Indian food if you are around the area. This place might not have all the bells and whistles... but at least they provide quality food at a good price!

Buffet prices. Such a great deal.

This was a go to of mine many years ago. But I moved a bit too far away too frequent. One of my twin 9 year olds is a vegetarian and he recently has started enjoying Indian food so I knew we had to make the trek out to Ahmed. The place has been remodeled since the last time I was here. It looks so different. Everything seemed clean and newer. Except the bathroom. It was dirty and has seen better days. Just avoid it if you can. The food is still great. They make sure the food has a moderate amount of spice so that things aren't bland. We all enjoyed everything we ate. We had the buffet which has several veg and non veg choices. 3 kinds of rice, lentil soup, salad naan, 3 deserts. My boys each hand a mango lassi that they loved. I didn't take too many pics we were too busy eating.

Items from the buffet. Just go to Royal Southern Kitchen instead.

Honestly Ahmed's buffet was only mid at best. The food was okay, but I don't see a reason to come back. The naan was room temperature, which is too bad. Nothing better than hot, fresh naan. The fish was pretty good, but everything else lacked any flavor other than just spicy. I'd say just spend a few bucks more and go to Royal Southern Kitchen if you want a quality buffet.

Not a big selection if you were looking for and AYCE Indian buffet. Price was fair for what you got. We came in a party of eight, and I had to keep waiting for them to refill the food. Overall, there was nothing special about this place. The kids did like the butter chicken and the desserts.

Finding an Indian buffet is much harder to come by these days. Orlando is a bit out of the way, but my home town has shut down its buffets since COVID and hence. This place was one of many to choose from but the only one that offered goat. Many offer just veggie and chicken dishes and personally I prefer goat or lamb. This place did not disappoint! Ahmed is a very simple and humble restaurant. The service was good and the drink refills were never requested but attended which is so appreciated! The food was wonderful. Tons of flavor and such a beautiful assortment of veggie, vegan, chicken and meat dishes with fresh buttery Naan. For $12.99 at lunch I truly cannot think of a better value anywhere, let alone an Indian buffet! Cannot wait to go back.

We tried iAhmed for lunch today. We decided on the buffet. It was average. Worth the price but left a bit unsatisfied. Mainly it was the texture of the mutton & chicken. The flavor was good but both were over cooked & a bit tough. Not quite what I expected. Everything else was ok. One & done here. 3 stars.

Love Ahmed Indian restaurant. The food is very flavorful. On a Monday night it was decently busy with dine ins and take out. We plan to cater our event from ahmed's. The service is great

I've had a lot of Indian food over the years from many different places, as it's one of my favorites. This place does it very well. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. I'll absolutely be ordering from here again.

First off, this is around the fourth or fifth time we visit Saffron Indian Cuisine in the Sand Lake…read morearea. The restaurant, in our view, has gotten increasingly lacklustre in the past couple of years. While the tables and the interiors are still generally clean, we have noticed wobbly table legs and cracked/torn seat covers that seem to remain unchanged and/or unrepaired for months. Coming to the food, while most of the Punjabi and North-west Indian fare on their menu has been the typically Americanized Indian food for the most part, anything outside of that category on their menu can and will throw you off. Especially if you've had the authentic stuff and know what those dishes taste like. On our latest visit last night, we ordered dahi tikki for appetizer which was served to us without the dahi. No attempt was made on part of the server or the kitchen staff to correct the error and provide the yogurt dressing. So we had a couple of aloo tikkis (spiced potato patties) with the regular chutneys that were at the table. We also ordered chicken vindaloo, bhindi do pyaza and butter naan for the entrée. To our surprise, the chicken tasted nothing like vindaloo and it had potatoes in it!!! LOL! For the uninitiated, Vindaloo is the Indian interpretation of 'Carne de Vinha d'alhos', which was introduced in the early 16th century to the former Portuguese colony of Goa in India. In Goa, the dish is colloquially known as 'vindalho' or 'vindaloo' and is prepared in a very similar manner to its Portuguese counterpart. It's a type of braised meat prepared with bold fiery spices and wine vinegar to impart that recognisably bold, pickle like flavour and has a beautiful, rich brown sauce. Vindaloo has absolutely NOTHING to do with Aloo (potatoes) in any shape, way or form. What was served to us seemed like some Frankensteined variation of Chicken tikka masala with some potatoes thrown in at whim. The bhindi do pyaza was alright in terms of flavor but the team in their kitchen ignored to discard the cap/stem of the okras causing the preparation to have a rather unpleasant texture and mouthfeel. The butter naans were also very inconsistent in texture. The first one was fine, the second one was overcooked, brown and crispy and the one we ordered to go was slightly undercooked and doughy. Also, not sure if it's worth mentioning, but the lights inside the restaurant kept being dimmed to the point of being turned off several times when we were seated at the table at around 8:30PM. I'm not sure what's going on with this restaurant but if the owners and staff actually read the reviews, please do something about it. We have been to Saffron before and we used to really enjoy the food, the service and the overall atmosphere. But lately it's been all going downhill. The only saving grace is that the portions served here are still huge. But that won't save the restaurant if the quality of the food and everything else keeps tanking. It'll be a shame to see another good restaurant fall from grace. We would absolutely urge the owners to take notice and fix things so those of us who have loved this place in the past can keep returning.

My friend's young daughter is trying to do vegan, and my friend has a tree nut allergy AND eats gluten-free, and they can accommodate ALL OF THAT! Yay! This is one of the best menus I've seen in the United States for Desi food, and true to Orlando style, they also have some "asian" dishes / cool combos of Chinese & Indian on the menu. I have never seen so many restaurants with two/hybrid/fusion menus as I have in Orlando! We got Hakka Noodles, Pani Puri, Masala Dosa, Palak Paneer & Chai. Pani Puri came assembled already and in a cute little wagon. Everything tasted amazing!! Tasted fresh-made with fresh ground spices & tasty ingredients. It was very reasonably priced, and the food came out fast. We didn't finish it all & they were prompt with the to go containers. Definitely going back. Thanks you guys!

The pakora was fried perfectly and had the right amount of spices, making it so flavorful and addicting that my mom enjoyed it so much. The meat area had Chicken Tikka Masala, Cashew Chicken, Goat Biryani, and Tandoori Chicken. All were wonderful. The biryani had nice pieces of goat, but most of them had bones. The the goat was tender and flavorful from being with the bones. The cashew chicken was good, but also had bones. The chicken tikka was boneless and the chicken was soft. The sauces were flavorful and medium spiced. The tandoori chicken was cooked nicely, but you did need a knife and fork to cut it. For the vegetarian dishes, the okra and potato were both enjoyable. The paneer dish was a bit too sweet for me, and the vegetable biryani seemed to have golden raisins, which I didn't enjoy. For dessert, I just took the fruit custard, which was mostly just fruit in a mango milk/sauce. It was still delicious! We all agreed that the food was great here for the buffet! The service is good, but can be busy. While our plates got cleared for the first rounds, it did pile up during the second round and dessert. It didn't get cleared until we left. It was ok because we had enough space to eat anyways. I also noticed that relaxing piano music was in the background, so it does help calm the atmosphere in a tourist area. The price increased to about 20 dollars per person, but this is still a great deal. With various types of food to enjoy and unlimited portions til your stuffed, it's an excellent value. This is not my favorite must have cuisine, however, Tabla really changes that mindset for me! Their food is so delicious that I often find myself wanting it! We visited their location near Universal which happens to be one of the first Yelp events we attended over 10 years ago! There is a small parking lot, since their location by Universal is attached to a hotel. The overall feel was more on the elegant side with beautiful lighting and lots of tables. We were greeted immediately and seated. We started with the Chaat Platter which was an assortment of Pani Poori (Crisp Poori Served with Chickpeas, Potato Stuffing, Mint Water, Tamarind Water, & Sweet Yogurt), Samosa Chaat (Flavored with Indian Spices, Served with Chick Peas, Topped with Sweet Yogurt and Homemade Chutneys), Dahi Bhalla Chaat (Lentil Dumplings, Crispy Flour Strips, Chick Peas, & Diced Potatoes Topped with Sweet Yogurt and Homemade Chutneys) and Aloo Tikki Chaat (Potato Patties Flavored with Indian Spices, Served with Chick Peas, Topped with Sweet Yogurt and Homemade Chutneys). I could not tell you which was which apart from the Pani Poori (the other 3 were very similar in look), however, this was absolutely fantastic! I loved this! It was served cold, which I did not love, but it was still really good and I would order it again. We also ordered the Chili Edamame, which we got at a spice level of 3 and it was so good! I honestly ate most of it, it was so good! We also ordered drinks, I got the Lychee Martini and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned. Both drinks were very good! We had planned on getting more but to be honest we got so full we couldn't do it. We also both ordered the mango lassi off our servers recommendation. It was so good and like pure blended mango! I loved it. I saw they had a cocktail with Mango Lassi so that will be next time! I chose the Butter Chicken which is chicken cooked in a flavorful Tomato Cream Sauce with Basmati Rice, the regular naan and it came with jasmine rice. So good and so classic. This is my favorite and I definitely ate left overs the next day. My husband went with the Chicken Curry which was creamy, tangy, and aromatic dish made with Coconut Milk, Tamarind, Curry Leaves and a Blend of Traditional Spice with Basmati Rice and he chose the garlic naan. This was very flavorful and really good. I love the sauce for this and dipping the naan into it. Overall this is a fantastic restaurant and I am so glad that Tabla comes to many Yelp events! It has changed my mind for Indian food and I am now a fan! This is a place we found because of Yelp but will now visit a lot because we are a fan!
