Today was my second time here before closing at 4:30 p.m. The first time it was a Sunday I had the combo platter including a half turkey panini, tortilla soup and garden side salad. The food was good as was the service. The restaurant is classic wide open seating and big wall window views. It feels light and airy. Today the service was six stars out of five and my cheeseburger with the works was fresh and delicious as were the accompanying sweet potato fries. The pomegranate lemonade was refreshing. When my original burger came out well done, they minutes later brought out a fresh medium rare one. From the friendly host to our amazing waiter everyone was warm, friendly and helpful. I was visiting the mall in LI with a couple friends of mine and we decided to grab lunch at this spot. I got a delicious salad and my friends ordered a couple sandwiches. Overall we had a great time at the restaurant. The service was great, our waitor was friendly, and the food came out in great time. I honestly didn't love how I had to leave the restaurant in order to find a bathroom and I didn't love how I got a little lost but it was a small factor compared to the rest of the meal. The food was great. The everything was perfect, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Perfectly secluded from the chaos of the mall. This is my go to eatery whenever im shopping. They do close early but if you have the chance, I highly recommend coming. There's a nice view of the restaurant collection from the windows. The atmosphere is bright and light. The service is always incredible. They had retained majority of the staff since before covid and they don't miss a beat. They know their regulars so well. The food is always fantastic here. On the 2nd floor of Nieman Marcus in Roosevelt Field - turn right at the top of the escalator and it's against the mostly glass wall. It has a view of the parking lot, the tables aren't cramped, and the atmosphere is classy. They start you off with popovers (that I haven't seen since the Milleridge Inn), strawberry "butter" (that tasted like light whipped cream cheese to me), and a seemingly out of place demi tasse cup of chicken broth. Nice touches so far. My wife ordered their [red] "quinoa salad" with sliced avocado, radish, almonds, arugula and goat cheese. She liked it except for the arugula (neither of us enjoy bitter types of lettuce, radicchio being the worst). I ordered their "mandarin orange soufflé," which was only the dessert portion of the lunch plate because the main attraction was the chicken salad, slices of green apple and almonds with "sweet bread," which seemed more like slices of dark honey cake. It cobbled together a nice balanced light lunch (bread, two fruits, nuts and chicken). We both ordered decaf coffee, which was nicely served with a creamer, two cups and a very small pot for seconds, but it was just slightly warmer than room temperature, so they eventually brought out a fresh hot pot. The food was reasonably priced, considering the creative menu, freshly preparation and atmosphere, but they charged us $12 for our coffees. read more

Lovely bright restaurant in Neiman Marcus in the Roosevelt Field Mall. Starting the meal off with a piping hot popover, strawberry butter and warm broth was a welcome surprise. My friend and I split a California sandwich which was the chef's special of the day and was absolutely delicious. On a quiet Saturday afternoon, I was looking for a nice new cafe to take the kids for lunch. Searching through Yelp, I found NM Cafe, which seemed to have a lot of pics of good looking food. I entered the address into the GPS and it led me to .... Roosevelt Field Mall??? I wasn't aware of any new cafes in the mall until we finally figured out that NM = Neiman Marcus. This is a cafe on the second floor, hidden in the women's clothing section. Ambience: a nicely decorated upscale cafe. The entrance is inconspicuously hidden in the women's clothing section. Food: we ordered Popover with Strawberry butter - this was amazing. Fluffy like a croissant but firm enough to spread some strawberry butter. 5/5 Chicken Broth - served in a teapot and teacups, this is easily mistaken for tea upon first glance. Excellent flavorful broth. 5/5 Tuna Melt and Fries - tasty comfort food. Crusty toasted bread encasing warmed tuna salad. 4/5 Mandarin Orange Soufflé - an chilled orange flavored "pudding" served with some chicken salad. Our waiter was one of the nicest waiters I've had in a really long time. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained the specials in a way that made everything sound delicious. We were serve complimentary popovers with strawberry butter accompanied with bone broth. The popover had a crusty outer layer and the butter made it taste really good. I've never had bone broth before so I can't really speak on it since it wasn't my cup of tea. Although my sangria didn't taste like a traditional sangria, it was still really good nonetheless. It tasted more like red wine and didn't have the traditional fruitiness to it. As of the main dish, the pot roast was definitely a heavy meal to have for lunch. I personally wouldn't recommend for that time of day but it did enjoy it for the most part. The side of mashed potatoes and vegetable were tender and flavorful. The pot roast was tender as well but the flavor it was a bit more on thick gravy side. Overall, I enjoyed my meal with my sister and mom here and honestly the waiter made our experience a good one. Went to NM cafe on a Thursday afternoon without a reservation. We were seated quickly in a nice corner table. The floor to ceiling windows made the space so bright and spacious. Once we were seated, we were given each a soufflé with some strawberry butter. I love when bread is served warm. We also were given chicken consommé in a tiny tea cup. It might be mistaken for actual tea but it was rather delicious. We asked for a pot and it was perfect to sip on. For my entree I had the pot roast which was on a special February menu. I was surprised at how large the portion was. The meat was tender and tasty. The truffle fries were crispy and topped with Parmesan cheese. The service from the host, waiter and busboy was all so kind. Our table was cleared proactively, waters refilled, and continuously checked up on. The cappuccino machine was not working today and our waiter ended up giving us a NM cookie on the way out which was unexpected. It was so good! Stumble across this cute cafe while I was shopping and decided to give it a try - I was not disappointed We ordered the crab pastas and hamburger for 3 people and we were stuffed. I am a frequent visitor of NM cafe and I am so happy with everything I have tried each time. My favorite part is the complimentary hot chicken broth - I always ask for a little pot bc it's too good to only have one cup. In terms of food, I have tried grain bowls, salads, sandwiches, soups, fish, meat, and veggies. Literally everything is top quality, well-made, good portions, and yummy. They always have healthy and tasty food with inspirations from different countries, and I love that. This cafe is very expensive (i.e. $25 for a sandwich) but it is so worth it. The service is sometimes slow but the staff are always so nice that I can't even be mad. Most of the time I dislike high-end eateries, so for someone like me to give 5 stars says a lot. Food: without question, probably the best offering within any department store, hands down. Calamari in its fried form is great here, along with the delicious truffle fries and pasta really hit the spot during a rainy day. Service: this is the only reason it lost one star. The place is understaffed for the number of tables that are present, even though all servers, when they got around to helping us, were so friendly. Decor: absolutely beautiful view, even if it is mostly a parking lot. The interior of this restaurant is so clean, comfortable, and relaxing that I want to come back over and over again! This is a nice cafe located in the Neiman Marcus store at Roosevelt Field. They have these giant windows that overlook the parking lot but it lets a lot of sunlight come in. They have an extensive menu of appetizers and main entrees. I went with a friend and we opted to share a bunch of appetizers and one main entree. 1) Cheese plate sampler: This plate was so ridiculously large that I thought it could have fed 3-4 people. They had a block of Parmesan cheese, Gorgonzola cheese, and brie cheese slices. They also had bread chips, marcona almonds, fig jam, and this amazing side of honey. I normally don't like honey but I thought this one was very tasty. It was the right amount of sweetness! They also had grapes and strawberries. 2) The truffle fries were tasty. They had an assortment of sauces. One tasted like horseradish, and one was ketchup, and the other one was this roasted garlic aioli. Here are the ingredients straight from the menu: truffle oil, chopped parsley, chipotle aïoli and roasted garlic aïoli 3) The Waldorf curry chicken salad was okay too. The honey dijon sauce was really good. Here are the ingredients of the salad straight from the menu: mixed greens, honey dijon dressing, spiced pecans, apples, grapes, scoop of curry chicken salad. 4) The grilled flatbread pizza was also tasty but not the best I've had. I especially liked the caramelized onions. The mushrooms weren't very roasted, and in fact looked quite raw. Here are the ingredients: roasted mushrooms, three cheeses, caramelized onions, petite arugula salad, olive oil. Service was decent too. read more

For drinks we ordered the Spring Sangria and the Little Bunny Milk. The salmon was delicious and cooked to perfection! The truffle fries was ok seemed a bit undercooked. For dessert they had a chocolate cake, carrot cake, their signature cookies and peach cobbler. We opted for the peach cobbler which came with vanilla ice cream and it was honestly delicious! But the waiter Anthony was genuinely so pleasant and helpful and made the experience even more special! I'm afraid to post this review because I want to keep this restaurant a secret! They added some new choices to the new menu such as the happy hour lobster popovers salad and the lobster salad. They are so delicious and fresh. I hope they will bring back some previous selections such as the sun dried tomato pasta, fried Calamari, and the chicken Milanese. I have been going since they reopened.
