I had first seen him on Sonoran Living Live and then after that I followed him on Twitter. For about a year I would tweet or Facebook him questions about the procedure and he would always get back to me in a timely manner, I wasn't even his patient yet! I am now his patient and as a former surgical scrub tech and now RN, I know I chose the best surgeon to do this procedure for me. The surgery was flawless, I was up and at em', chasing around my toddler three days after my surgery. I would have questions or concerns and he asked me to email him. When I emailed him, he would reply within 5 minutes time and one time he was even OUT OF THE COUNTRY and still replied quickly and said to email him whenever I had a concern. I have NEVER seen patient care like this, truly amazing. Dr. Simpson cares about his patients and their outcome. He wants the procedure to work for them and as long as you follow his guidelines you will be successful. I highly recommend Dr. Simpson for the lap band procedure.

I finally realized, with a few other symptoms, that it was the lap band that was causing me the problem. My Chicago doctor forgot to tell me that I need to have the lap band x rayed once a year to confirm it stays in place properly! Since we had moved I looked for a good bariatric specialist in AZ thinking that I would need to have the lap band removed and have the surgery for the gastric sleeve. Imagine my surprise when his staff calmly and matter of factly did an upper GI and said yes the lap band is your problem. See the pouch that has developed? Then Dr. Simpson saw me and said let's try the most conservative treatment first. He removed the water from the band and put me on a liquid diet for two weeks. He explained all of the options and told me let's just take it one step at a time. I was really impressed with his knowledge, manner and professionalism. I feel confident that he will fix the band moving and will then help me maintain the weight loss. Great job!

Dr. Albert Amini was my surgeon and recommended by a friend who recently had the same procedure. My…read morefirst appointment he explained everything well in terms of it being a laparoscopic procedure using mesh and answered my questions. Directly after the surgery, I was told there were no complications. I do still feel the screws they used to attach the mesh to my body cavity. They still cause me pain. It's 7 weeks post op and I was told they would dissolve and they definitely have not. I've gone in for a 3-4 post op appointments because they said it would be 2-3 days painful but it was more like 5-7 days of real core pain. The light duty and lifting limitations should be extended too. For any person, this is a big surgery. They try to say, "yeah people bounce back the next day..." well, that's not my experience. Kaelyn Garner has been great for questions post op too. I have another post op this Monday (11/13) so we'll see what she says about my recovery. Front desk receptionists (Janet?!) probably knows my phone number by heart because I was calling with questions from recovery, thank you. Update- 12/04/2023 When I went in for the surgery, they didn't tell me about the dissolvable screws. They said it would take about six weeks for them to dissolve, and they still have not. They caused me pain when I'm walking on my crutches as I am still nonweightbearing from my back to back surgeries, bending, during my period, or any little movement in my abdomen. I have a friend say that she didn't have to have screws put in her body after Dr Armini had to fix a hernia after my friend, Emma's hysterectomy. She was my reference for the doctor, but I don't understand why he did different procedures. I would definitely ask him about it prior to surgery. I was under the impression the mesh would just stick to my body cavity.

From…read morethe very first appointment to my recovery, this extraordinary human being demonstrated the highest level of skill, compassion, and dedication I have ever witnessed in any medical professional. I came to him in one of the scariest, most uncertain times of my life. My condition was complex and I was filled with fear. From the moment I met Dr. Amini I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time -- hope. His calm, confident demeanor was matched by an incredible ability to explain what was going on, what needed to happen, and how we would tackle it together. I immediately knew I was in the best hands possible. The surgery (a Whipple procedure) itself was nothing short of miraculous. What others saw as a high-risk, complicated case, he approached with meticulous precision and unwavering confidence. He not only performed the operation flawlessly, but he did so with a level of care and foresight that I truly believe made all the difference in my outcome. The post-operative care I received was equally exceptional. Although, I weeks in the hospital Dr. Amini checked in constantly, listened to my concerns, and always made me feel heard and respected. This isn't just a surgeon who performs procedures -- this is someone who sees the whole person, who fights for their patients with everything he's got, and who genuinely cares. It's rare and remarkable. I will never forget it Thanks to Dr. Amini, I am here and alive. I get to work, achieve my goals, and live my life again. all because of his expertise, heart, and l unwavering commitment to his patients. If you are looking for a surgeon who specializes in pancreatic issues Dr. Amini is the best and someone who combines world-class medical excellence with amazing bedside manner. He is the absolute best -- a true hero in every sense of the word. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Dr. Amini gave me my life back. In addition, his staff is incredible! From the moment you walk in the doors you feel welcomed. All staff members treat you with respect which rare to find in the medical profession!

As well as the staff. They all mean the world to me. They saved my life (more than once) in so many ways. Not just with my health, but the emotional overcoming of what I experienced. They have ALL (from front desk to MA's, to PA's, NP's, Surgeon's, Office Manager, etc.) touched my life and my family's life. I am a 36 year old wife with four beautiful children. My two oldest (daughter & son) are old enough to remember the "me" I was before all the surgeries and hospital stays. Which I spent more time in the hospital than I did at home. The older two children can remember every moment of every scary experience. Even one's that I myself am unable to remember. But my two littles, (daughters), don't remember the days that mama was able to hold them and sing to them, and do any & EVERYTHING with them. They don't know their mom who wasn't sick. But they are all four just amazing human beings. My husband had to go from being the fun dad to being the "do it all" daddy. And he's been wonderful about it. I still need to have a few more procedures and haven't been doing well lately. And there is not another surgical office that I would trust with my life, than this office. I'm a high-risk patient, and Dr. McClary is my most trusted surgeon and human being in general for my complications. But I have had the pleasure of seeing all the physicians within this practice. And I would recommend ANY & ALL of them! My anatomy is just a bit different than others lol! And Dr. McClary has been there from the start of me becoming a higher risk patient. Thank you to all who have read this, if you made it this far ! And thank you to Dr. McClary, along with THE entire staff! Everyone! Thank you, thank you!

Appointment goes OK - DOCTOR IS GREAT. Incomplete orders to medical facility. No pain meds @ Rx - another follow-up. Another call to schedule follow-up appointment - forgot to schedule. Unsure if this is "in play" here, but more and more medical practices are nothing more than shells macerating for some conglomerate. Doctors are employees without any ownership or oversight for the staff. Staff turnover is horrific with least cost apparent. There is a valley urology multi-location practice than worse than this. But my opinion a race to the bottom.

The coordinator proceeded to tell me I was calling the wrong area and that every time I leave a message she has to forward my call (huffing and puffing). I proceeded to TRY and ask her what number I should be dialing on the IVR - before I could, instead, she just ignored me and transferred my call. I was unsuccessful in reaching my person I needed, so I called her back to let her know that if she tells patients they are directing their calls to the wrong, area she should also provide them with a solution ex: tell them where to dial and that she was extremely rude. She then said, "your agent is ready do you want me to transfer you now?" I said "I'd like you to not be rude and then transfer me nicely!" She then said "oh, sweetie, I hope you have an amazing day!" In a condescending tone, transferred me with no apology, and my agent I needed was not available. "Great staff?" Not the plastic surgeon coordinator!

I filled out the pre surgery paperwork, noting that I was allergic to OxyContin, Percocet and any other opioid. Not because I have an addiction issue, but because I am actually allergic to them. Like deathly allergic. I am also allergic to penicillin. I appreciate that they were also very transparent about the co-pay costs ahead of time. When I got there first thing in the morning the they quickly ran through the paperwork with me and I advised them that they didn't have my allergies listed. They corrected that and gave me a wristband noting them. A very nice girl then whisked me back to pre-op noting my wrist band and asking me to verify what my allergies were. When she put me on a gurney and gave me a warm blanket I noticed it had some gummy residue substance on it which caused me to raise my eyebrows. After that the anesthesiologist came in and gave me a rundown on what he was going to do which was reassuring. Then I met Dr Damore who barely looked at me while he gave me a rundown on what he was going to do during the procedure, and then in front of the nurse told me that he would make sure to prescribe me a minor opioid (I forget the specific brand) afterward to help with the pain. I told him that was a hard negative, holding up my wristband and saying I had already advised them at least twice that I couldn't take them. He finally looked up at me and said "Oh, well then alternate ibuprofen and acetaminophen every few hours for it." At that point I almost walked out but I was there so I said screw it, let's do this. The surgery went well. The day after my surgery I got a call from my pharmacy advising me that my (I'm deathly allergic to it) pain medication was all ready to be picked up. To say this troubles me is an understatement.
