They dug trenches for the irrigation but left hundreds of large rocks in the dirt and then laid sod right on top of that. They told me, "Don't worry, soon the grass will grow right over the rocks - no big deal. Give it a year or two. That was 3 years ago, and my yard is disgusting. I can't mow it as the wheels of the lawnmower drop down into the depressions where there are large rocks all around them. As you walk in the grass, there are pits and rocks that you can feel under your feet. Half of the sod has now died, even tho I spent hundreds every month over the summers on water and fertilizer. It makes me sick to even go into my backyard. I have asked the owner to come look at my yard and talk to me, and no replies - ever. He knows he did a cheap crappy job and now he just wants to hide from me. Stay away from this 'company'.

I am writing this to warn other homeowners- specifically pet owners- about the lack of professional…read moreexpertise and accountability at Sierra Nevada Landscapes, and Jeremy Michaud the owner. Since 2018, I have spent nearly $90,000 with this company, including a recent $13,000 project in 2025 to completely rip out and reinstall a twice failed pet turf area, only to be left with the same unusable, foul-smelling yard. The core of the issue is a fundamental lack of industry knowledge regarding pet-friendly artificial turf installation leading to persistent urine odors. When original turf became matted and flat, Jeremy's solution was to add more silica sand.I have since learned from multiple other professionals that silica sand is the primary material you NEVER USE for pet turf, as it's porous and permanently traps odors. Even during the complete 2025 reinstallation-which involved ripping out 10 inches of base layer- Jeremy still used silica sand. Predictably, the odor returned and was worse than before. While Jeremy offered to redo the yard a fourth time, I could not trust a "professional" who repeatedly used wrong materials after seven years of documented failures. Despite the massive amount of money spent, he has refused to offer any form of cash refund. I am now forced to pay a new contractor to fix his mistakes. If you want a functional, sanitary yard, do not trust this company. Their "expertise" is severely lacking, their communication is spotty and they do not stand behind their work with financial accountability.

Once complete, the turf is in need of some touch ups that were promised. However, as soon as they had the final check they have ignored all my calls. Additionally, they did not clean up their mess. Our street was left with dirt, nails, cigarettes, and oil stains. I have reached out to the project manager and management but have gotten no where. I'd look elsewhere for your next project.

They worked around a couple of trees we wanted to keep, and cleaned them up nicely. Our entire irrigation system needed to be rebuilt as well. We worked primarily with Tracie (and Juan!) and they were amazing. Ultimately they were able to complete our job in less than a week, a month earlier than originally planned, and made substantial accommodations to work around the new road construction on our street. We're really happy with the new yard, and can't wait to see it fill out over the next couple of years. We highly recommend. As for prices, we had also reached out to another reputable landscaper in Reno and found DRC's on par with others, and a little less than what we were planning for. They installed a sink after I asked to make a slight change. The side/front pavers for the trash was made bigger for us so we didn't struggle taking out our bins. He helped to reuse our old pavers and give us more space to for storage on the other side at the AC generators. Don priced out the other quotes I got, did better than Santiago landscaping and Creative Gardens, never saw what the other guys offered for the same job. His company just offers the right and fair price, and isn't trying to get more. Took less than 2 weeks to finish. We are happy customers!!!
