I frequent this shopping center while growing up, as this shopping center was just down the road from my high school. Aina Haina Shopping center has recently gone through some upgrade changes, yet there are a few old tenants who are still here anchoring the shopping center like - Foodland Farms (Foodland), Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha (Doe Fang), McDonalds, First Hawaiian Bank, Jack's Restaurant, & the 76 Gas Station. I must say the recent upgrades to this little small strip mall has done the community good, as the strip mall was getting a wee bit dated looking prior to the recent renovations. This small strip malls has a few good eateries like - 1. Pieology 2. Aina Haina Health 3. Jack's Restaurant 4. Aina Haina Chop Suey 5. BBQ Town Drive Inn 6. Cake Couture 7. Genki Sushi 8. La Tour Café 9. Starbucks 10. Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha 11. Mama Pho 12. On one of my days off from work back in May I headed to Aina Haina Shopping Center to meet up with a friend. I arrived there via bus. As I made my way off the bus and into the shopping center I noticed Foodland Farms, McDonalds, and a bunch of other businesses. I continued to walk on the pathway and spotted Pieology Pizzeria...someday I'll do a return visit and try one of their pizzas. There's a small section with tables between Pieology Pizzeria and Mama Pho. People can talk story to each other while enjoying their meal. I continued walking and noticed there's a small gym and a pet clinic. I also noticed a public library. There's plenty parking at this shopping center. Customers can fill up their vehicles at the gas station if needed. 21/100 read more

I end up here every morning dropping my nephew to Aina Haina School and then picking up a McCafe Iced Coffee ...love drive thrus !!! This shopping center houses some of my favorite stops as well ..... thrift shop .. Holy Nativity, cupcake place .. Cake Couture, soon to be remodeled grocery store "YAY" Foodland, stand up baddle board place ... Wet Feet, korean plate lunch place ... Hibiscus, the library, icee place .. Doe Fang, Breakfast place ... Jacks, and a drive thru FHB to make my life with a toddler easier. They are supposed to be adding a lot more NEW places as well in the near future. read more

A visit to one of Aina Haina Shopping Center's eateries is what brought us here, specifically Pieology. And what a delish place it was! Back to the subject, AHSC is a simple, outdoor strip mall with lots of free parking, and easy access from the main road. A dreary, protected lanai serves as food court seating. OVERALL: Other than being a "convenience" mall to the small communities on Oahu's east end, there'd be no reason to come here as the tenant list consists mostly of businesses that can be found elsewhere on the island, sans for Pieology and local restaurants, and is definitely not a shopper's paradise. If you are ever at Aina Haina Elementary and need to go East, you have been to this shopping center. Why? Because there is no left turn from the traffic light onto the 72; you must TRAVEL THROUGH this shopping center to the next side street to get there! This alone makes it one of the weirdest centers ever, thanks to the stellar traffic engineering of the county. There's a bank, a library, a Foodland, a shuttered Chuck. E. Cheese, a paint-your-own ceramics place, and most important, Cake Couture, the cupcake place and the best reason for stopping as you drive through the center. It strikes me as an odd center, because it looks like a ghost town in many respects with several shuttered businesses and the fact that the Foodland entrance is not facing the road; yet it actually has a lot of small businesses wedged away. read more

Apparently this is one of the first shopping centers in the state. Or maybe Oahu, or something like that. I read that somewhere when I was researching the history of Aina Haina. It had the first McDonalds in the islands, read about it when you eat at McDonalds on how it got there. In the past couple of years, they have had a renovation to make the place "fresh." They updated the Foodland to become a Foodland Farms. It's quite cute. They also have a good variety of places to eat, as well as a few stores. The two must go to places are Jack's and Uncle Clay's because they are such unique stores in themselves. I think the thing to watch out for, though, is the parking. The stalls are a bit on the smaller side and you need to watch out for the bollards. I've seen a bunch of old ladies hit them. Totally bummer. Otherwise, this shopping center is awesome. *Note - if you're gonna go surfing, I don't recommend parking here. Your car might be towed away :( read more

This shopping strip mall is in between Kahala Mall and Hawaii Kai Towne Center / Koko Marina, not counting Niu Valley shopping center. Anchored by Foodland and McDonalds, this mall is nice to have when you're dying for food and activities in between Hawaii Kai and Kaimuki. It's also a respite from the long haul up and down the H-1 / Kalanianaole Hwy. I'm glad to know that the McDonald's is 24 hours, since I had the priviliege of going out on a early morning run and the McDonald's was open at 5am with people! The people at McDonalds were nice and they showed me how to open the restroom without a key (just push it). And I was off on my 13 mile run thereafter. Like the First Hawaiian Bank location to do banking, but most of the other shops I don't really use. Foodland is great and the gas station is spot on when you need it. Plenty of parking, depending on what time of day you go and do business. read more

This is a great shopping mall full of stores and restaurants for your every desire. I have only been to several stores in this mall. The Foodland is not bad in size. It probably rivals the one in town on Beretania St. The Genki Sushi is not the best, but not the worst (Ward Centers) in service and food. There is also a public library here. For all you readers, this small looking library is actually a lot bigger once you get inside! There is a McDonald's here that has great customer service. First and foremost, all the employees here I have met can speak English. They have a warm personality and the food (I usually only get the coffee here) comes out quick. My favorite place: Encore Espresso is a local coffee shop with a great assortment of teas and makes a great coffee called the Iced Toddy. If you like your coffee as black as night, this coffee is right up your alley! The taste is fine even with a hint of cream. The final word on this place is that: it isn't as big as Ala Moana or Pearlridge, but what this shopping center lacks for in size is the quality of stores here. Happy yelping folks!! read more

Clean, lots of parking, with a mix of new and old businesses is how I would describe this mall. Aina Haina Shopping Center is slowly creeping onto my pscyhe to become one of my favorites! This place has a full-sized grocery store (Foodland) and numerous delicious places to eat. Brand new Pieology Pizzerai, Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha, Starbucks, Jack's Restaurant, and La Tour Cafe are some of my favorites. But wait, there's more! There's a McDonald's restaurant, a Subway, Leahi Health, a pho restaurant, a small gym, a Sprint store, and a gas station too among other businesses. This shopping center is a great place to go to with your foodie hat on or to pick groceries and gas. read more

Convenient and lots of parking. Many food choices from healthy to unhealthy and beyond (think fast food!). Sushi, cupcakes, subs, pizza, coffee and great spots for breakfast (Jack's), lunch (Latour Cafe) and dinner (Pieology). I would suggest Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha for awesome yet healthy shave ice specialties. Foodland Farms has lots of organic groceries, prepared foods and a large liquor collection. A great place to stop when heading to the east end for boogie boarding, surfing, diving or hiking. This shopping center has been totally renovated and is quite beautiful and well layed out. A great location with lots of free parking! What more can you ask for in a shopping center? There's a nice variety of shops and restaurants here including Foodland Farms, Genki Sushi, Cake Couture, Wet Feet, Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha, and Jack's Restaurant to name a few. They've also got a Bank, Public Library, McDonald's, and a Post Office (for now)! All they're missing is a theater and a department store! The center area with the new tables and chairs is a great stop to stop and eat your take-out, or just relax. I do miss some of the old shops that are no longer there, but ones that are still there are great! I was a little sad when the first McDonald's on the island closed and was torn down to be replaced by a brand new McDonald's building in the adjacent lot, but I guess the times are a changing. Also I'm not 100% sure if the post office is still open here. I remember reading something a while back about this post office being in danger of closing due to Federal budget cuts. But even without it this is still a great place to stop by and check out. read more

Parking is improving, it doens't look like a relic of the 1960's anymore, updated shops have moved in, and I'm hoping we can finally get some quality restaurants and services in the Center! This strip mall seems to be quite busy in the day and rather quiet at night during the week. They're adding a Starbucks soon as well! Yay we can get our caffeine addiction On! Can't wait! :). I've shopped at the Aina Haina Shopping Center for years. I've had doctors in the professional building, done banking at FHB, eaten at the restaurants, and shopped at the stores. AHS has a phenomenal group of merchants. I love Foodland Farms, Cake Couture, Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha, and Jack's to name a few. Aina Haina also has one of the lousiest parking lots on the island. It was probably fine when the shopping center was first built back in the1950's but with all the new shops they have and the business they all do it's tough to find parking unless you're there early in the morning or late in the evening. I spoke to a former tenant who claimed the parking wasn't up to code (I don't if this is true, I never thought much about parking codes). Whether it is true or not, it's still inadequate. FPO and I were there the other day (she was starving and I wanted Jack's spaghetti) but we circled for about ten minutes and couldn't find a spot so we left. That's a pity too because it hurts the fine businesses they managed to attract. Unless the owners/mangers find a solution it's the patrons who are going to continue to be frustrated and the businesses that lose out. read more

I only come to this shopping center for Foodland Farms, and the library. Its a very small shopping center, but it has a lot of eateries and shops. I also come here for this one restaurant called Jack's. The parking is okay, kind of tight but it is a small shopping center. Its a very clean area, and they're adding more shops here. Overall its a great shopping center for your all your eating and shopping needs. read more

I feel like you have to want to go to one of the places at Aina Haina Shopping Center in order to visit. It's not one of those malls you'd come to just to browse. Years ago when I used to take tennis lessons across the street (at the facility that has now been desecrated by a church), we'd come to AHSC for Korean BBQ or maybe a quick Chuck E Cheese sesh. Nowadays, there isn't really anything fun here except maybe the shave ice store. McDonald's is newly renovated, so there's a potential hangout, but other than that, it's kind of a blink-or-you'll-miss-it experience. Meh. read more

This is an awesome little shopping center. It has absolutely EVERYTHING you would regularly need. There's a gym, hair salon, nail salon, yoga studio, clothing boutiques, cupcake shop, many little restaurants, a brunch spot, and even a McDonald's and Subway for all you fast food junkies out there. The best part about this shopping Center is the Foodland Farms. Hands down. They also added a Starbucks this past summer, so really this place officially has EVERYTHING! read more
