This review seriously starts from the very first time we called Air Around The Clock on May 2, 2018. After moving in to a new home, the A/C unit needed servicing, we called ATC and they sent Joe C out to our apartment. He was extremely courteous, respectful and helpful. The next time we called to have the A/C unit serviced on November 30, 2018 they sent Anthony A out to our apartment. Just like Joe C he was extremely courteous, respectful and helpful. The third time we called was April 20, 2019 and Dianna L helped me with the call (I really think it's been here each time but I'm not 100% on this) she was not only extremely professional but very helpful. Even when it was a holiday weekend, Easter was that Sunday she managed to send out one of the technicians to our apartment. Joe C stopped by again, when he inspected the unit he realized he could put a "band-aid" on the problem and help us for an unknown amount of time or we could have a new unit installed. As with the first time he came to our home in 2018 he was extremely courteous, respectful and helpful. Once we decided to install the new unit, he had us call the office and get approved for credit then we set up an appointment for their supervisor to come and decide what exactly needed to be done. Adam came on April 22, 2019 and was great. He came in and provided us with the details of the installation afterwards we setup the appointment for the installation on April 23, 2019. The technicians who showed up were Ryan S and I believe Joe (I really hope this was his name). Both of them worked diligently to get the new A/C unit installed. They had to tear down a wall to be able to replace the unit, and honestly we're amazed with the job they did. It's a clean cut all the way through and they picked up every single scrap of wall/garbage before they left. Not only did it seem they'd never even been there but they left us with a wonderful A/C unit. Another technician Ron came during the installation and inspected the ducts. When he found they needed cleaning, he explained the situation to my mother who speaks very little English as best as he could, for which I'm grateful because that's something he didn't have to do, but he showed her respect and that's another one of the reasons why I'm writing this because they are amazing men who deserve a little bit of recognition at the least. He called me after and explained then we agreed for another technician to come out on April 25, 2019. He too was extremely courteous, respectful and helpful. The last technician, I'm almost positive was named Lorenzo (I'm hoping I'm right) showed up cleaned out the ducts and just like each one of the other technicians that came out to our home he was extremely courteous, respectful and helpful. I know it's a bit repetitive and long but my family and I are forever grateful for the staff's willingness to help, answer our questions, their efficiency and above all else their proffesionalism and respect. read more

This company is a huge rip off. They sent a guy out to exchange my X-13 air handler motor that they put in in 2012. The motor has a 10 year warranty. The tech refused to change the motor under warranty saying that the air conditioner system was 14 years old. This tech didn't even make any sense since the sticker on the outside of the unit has nothing to do with the part that is under warranty which still has 2 more years of warranty that this company installed. The air handler casing is nothing but a casing and that doesn't go bad. The tech says that the new motor will be $1300.00. I laughed in his face since I know that I could of had an Evergreen motor installed for a couple of hundred total billing price and got a new 10 year warranty. I instead called BAM - Big Air Mechanical. I got another X-13 motor for less than half of Air Around The Clock quoted price. The must think every one is ignorant and they prey on the uninformed. Only 5.5 year old Unit purchased from Air Around the Clock and on their maintenance contract; Broken again; Told that new electrical connections or wiring were needed and verbally quoted over $1,400 for parts/labor (and advised of no warranty coverage). ATC Motto: F the Customer 7 months ago, our aging air conditioner finally quit. We priced out the best deals in the area and had some estimates. The best was 'Air Around the Clock' in Boca Raton, who would install our system for an agreed cash price. Since the installation, we've been cited by the City of Boca for their omission of a permit for the job, had the unit breakdown at least a dozen times, and been tortured by their poor service culture. Today, I've finally had it, the representative Eric whom I spoke to on the phone, cursing and yelling at me while I attempted to stand my ground on their service agreement. My guests who are visiting from out of town have to avoid my home today while we sit and wait for Eric and his service team to deal with the myriad other poor folks in the same spot as us. Our 1 Year ATC Service agreement and 24-Hour on call service is a joke. Don't use ATC for service, installation, or purchasing a new air conditioner unit unless you are a self-loathing masochist. You will not be happy, impressed, satisfied, or at home in a comfortably moderated climate. ATC...by the way, if you're reading this....make sure to check out all the other places I'm going to post the same exact thing. You p!$$ed me off, and now I'm on a mission to inform people of exactly what they're getting into when doing business with you.... The guy that fixes my car has been fixing it for 27 years. The electrician I use, I've been using for 20 years. The guy that cuts my hair has been cutting it for 32 years. I had a guy who took care of my AC for as long a time as the folks above. He had a devastating injury and had to pull out of the AC business. So last night the temperature in my place climbs about 5 degrees. I hear ads on the radio for air around the clock all the time. Those are the folks who came to mind and those are the folks I called. They took my information and scheduled an appointment for today. Today comes and the AC guy bangs on the door. I let him in and show him to the air handler while telling him about the night before. He turns on the AC , took a few seconds to start up. While he was waiting he began to tell me how poorly the AC was installed. I listened to what he had to say. After his critique of the installation he went outside to place his gauges on the ports attached to the condenser.. He came back in the house telling me I was extremely low on freon. Okay so far, makes sense. He goes on to tell me that I have a leak. I asked him how do you know I have a leak. He tells me I've been doing this for 25 years and you have a leak. I tell him you doing something for 25 years isn't proof that I have a leak. How do you know I have a leak? Now the double-talk begins. He tells me about a machine he has that will tell him where the leak is. I asked him how does your machine know where a leak would be? Again with the 25 years business. Red flags are popping up all over the place now. I asked him again how does this machine tell you where a leak is? There's a copper pipe that is about 35 feet long attached to the air handler on the inside and the condenser on the outside. And you're saying to me that this machine is going to tell you where the leak is. He says absolutely.. Get out of my house. read more

Air around the clock is a major rip off The prices charged for parts they bring to your home are priced 3 to 4 times higher than other companies. They offer you at 10 percent discount after they mark it up 400 times. They charged me $400 to replace a door gasket on a front load washer 2 x already same repair. also installed a substandard air conditioner in my home and wanted $125 for a $30 thermostat that I replaced myself from Home Depot read more

I don't get it. I signed up for a maintenance plan and got some routine service done yesterday. 18 hours later, my indoor unit mysteriously falls from the wall and ceiling it was mounted to and you charge me $500 to fix it? Didn't you break it in the 1st place - now I'm being charged to fix what you broke? I'm an extremely unsatisfied customer. I called you guys because I wanted someone that was reliable, that I could trust with my business going forward and not have to worry about it. Just write the checks and trust that all is well. Doesn't look like you're that business and it's a shame. _________ UPDATE: They called me and explained what happened. When the unit was installed it was done so incorrectly. I'm not holding AATC responsible for this. They explained to me that it *actually* wasn't their fault, and are giving me 1/2 off their regular rate for fixing it. While my family has used them many times in the past and really enjoyed their work (2 A/C units bought and installed within a year or two of each other) this past time we did not like their service at all. We were having problems with our washer and our stove so we called them to come out since we were so impressed with their work on our AC units. The tech that came out was really great fixing the washing machine, I mean it had to have taken him 30 seconds TOPS to identify what was wrong with the washing machine and MAYBE 5 minutes to fix it and he identified the problem with the stove just as quickly, but it needed a part to fix it. He ordered it and came back a few days later to install the part and after he left and my mom was cleaning the ceramic cook top on the stove, she noticed a rather large crack in it and called the technician about it and he came back and took some pictures and asked what we wanted done. He told my mom that it was still safe to use so she said she just wanted a credit for the service and he said he would have to talk to his bosses about it. Well that was 3 weeks ago, fast forward to yesterday and my mom looked at her credit card bill and was still charged the full amount so she called this morning to ask them about it and spoke to someone named Eddie and he told my mom that they spoke about it when the service tech returned and decided that they were not going to give us a credit because our household "has a history of disputing charges with us." And according to everything I've found, we have not disputed any of their work before, we thought they had always done a great job. So while we loved all the work they did for us in years past, we will definitely no longer be using their services if this is the way they treat their loyal customers. You would think that any company that actually cared about customer service would actually contact someone that had a problem instead of just ignoring them. But apparently a credit for a $200 service call is too much to ask for for someone that has spent thousands of dollars with them in the past. read more

Negative zero stars!! I live in a condo. I had a coupon for A/C maintenance - cleaning coil, draining pipe and adding freon. The technician drained the pipe, gathered his tools and started to leave when I questioned about cleaning the coil and adding freon. He stated he couldn't clean the coil because he couldn't reach it. What?? How can an A/C technician not be able to do that? He then said it seemed cool in condo so no freon needed. Took my $$ but did not complete the job I paid for. Never hiring them again. Couldn't be happier with them. Needed to replace our air conditioner unit. They came out, were one of the best price wise, and installed it in the time frame they promised (the next day). The work was permitted and done to code, and approved quickly. They also had the Federal Energy credit thingy and they took care of the paperwork and we're putting it in with our return this year. Their customer service has been great to deal with, as they have service our other AC unit (split floorplan, 2 ACs). Couldn't be more happy. read more

This is an extremely well organized AC and appliance company. Whenever I need service I call and they have very accurate and detailed records and know exactly what equipment they have installed. However, on my last issue they took nine days to replace a coil that was under warranty. It was in a rental unit, and I had to give the tenant 15% off on their rent because they went so long without having air-conditioning. Unfortunately Air Around The Clock did not give me any sort of discount for the delay in handling the service call to replace the coil. Two days after it was replaced the air conditioning was not working again because they had overcharged it with Freon. My previous experience was better, but on this one they dropped the ball, repeating. read more

I have been an AATC customer for about 14 years. I have always renewed my maintenance contract with them and referred friends and family. They installed a new unit in 2008. Within 4 years they were recommending to pull the coil to be cleaned and suggesting expensive upgrades. I began to notice a technician would suggest work be done and the next one (in 6 months) saying "your unit is fine, nothing needed at this time". (After not doing what was recommended). I had my 6 month maintenance performed and the technician strongly suggested considering a new unit. I asked him why would I do that if my unit is working perfectly? A few days later I received a package from AATC with a quote and information on a new unit. This seemed strange to me. A couple of weeks later we wake up to no air. The same technician came out and told us he isn't surprised. That the fan motor was burnt out and would be over $800. He said it just isn't worth investing almost $1000 in my unit. He repeated the quote I received and called the office to set up financing. We set up installation of a new unit the following morning. Having doubt, we called another company (very reputable) for a second opinion. They replaced the fan motor for $425 and said the unit still has time before needing to be replaced. I was a very loyal customer but obviously no longer have trust. Interestingly, I simply called to cancel the new unit and was never questioned or called back to ask why. read more

I was having no issues With my air, but was due for routine maintenance. When calling to schedule, they told me that they don't tell you what time they are coming until the morning of which is super inconvenient. Cue me taking an entire day off of work. The worker comes, does what he needs to do. A few hours later I hear a weird noise coming from the closet where the unit is and water is pouring out of a hose, spraying everything inside. I call and am told they won't be out for some time and that someone can only come between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. 8:00 comes and goes and I finally get someone out here at 8:30. The guys come in, looks at it and says "it needs maintenance." All I could do was laugh at this point because this company is clearly a joke. They don't even fill their employees in on what's going on, not to mention that this should Have been a priority since it was their mistake. It's finally taken care of, but ruined my entire day. Days off are precious, and I don't appreciate spending hours in my apartment in south Florida without air and now having to spend my Friday night cleaning out and mopping an entire closet. Take your business somewhere where your time is considered and valued. 5 thumbs down. read more

Over the summer I was staying with my lady friend and her A/C broke let me tell you those next few days were hell it got so hot I had to go stay with my side piece. I got tired of taking fans from the local YMCA so I called up Air Around The Clock and told them what the deal was, they gave me a quote and I was like these Jokers must be crazy it's no way they could fix our A/C for that cheap but they did. Next day they came through we gave them some of that income tax money and our A/C was working that night, we was so happy I put a few of them Food For Florida lobsters on the grill that night. Scheduled an appointment 2 weeks prior for my second yearly maintenance visit. The day of the appointment they call to say they cannot make the appointment and need to schedule for the next day. I understand that scheduling conflicts happen so I agreed to wait a day. About 20 minutes later they called back again, saying they cannot accommodate me until 2 weeks from the day they were supposed to be here. Then, only when I threatened to cancel my relationship with them altogether, suddenly -- like magic -- they were able to fit me in 2 days later. I cancelled on principle. I shouldn't have to threaten them with my business just to get the bare minimum of customer service. Stay away. If you are already their customer, flex your muscles if you want to eke out even the most basic of customer service. read more

Air Around the Clock sold me an AC with a recalled air handler and to get them to replace it was a struggle . They finally agreed but only if I paid for installation. Two years later the drain line clogged and it flooded my downstairs bathroom. When a different company came out to look at it they found that AATC didn't install a drain pan or automatic drain switch and they didn't get the required permit. Lingstrom Air ( great company btw) brought it up to code and I asked for reimbursement of cost to repair and bringing it up to code. Stay away! I learned very expensive lesson! They came to my house three times, each with a two hour window, one of which they showed up an hour late. They charge me $350 and never fixed the problem. I have been a customer of AATC for more than 20 years, and have had a service contract with them for most of that time period. This year, my contract price increased by close to 20%, which I felt was a lot, but, given the current economic conditions, I accepted. Less than two weeks ago, an air conditioning tech was here for my routine maintenance. This past Saturday, I discovered that my AC system was leaking. AATC charged me $180. for a temporary solution, & returned yesterday to replace the tray, which was leaking. The cost of that was $675., but when attempting to pay using my credit card, was told there would be an additional charge of $20. and change!! I refused to pay that additional charge, and have decided that once my current service contract (which I can only read on line because the company is now paperless!) expires, I will no longer be an AATC customer. I question whatever happened to customer respect and being loyal to long time customers! If Mike Lang and his company don't want to take credit cards, customers should be informed prior to any service! If AATC needs $$$ that badly, perhaps he should give up his billboard ads, or his TV ads!!! This is one long term customer who will be using a new AC company!! read more

Air Around The Clock ROCKS!!! I first used them a few years ago to replace our entire aging AC unit in our house. They were not the cheapest....pretty close though but I really liked what their service plan offered. They showed up early in the AM, removed all of our old equipment, built a new box (where the intake is...i dont know what it's called), installed digital thermostat & taught us how to program it (LOVE this) and completely cleaned up all of their mess. Air was blowing cold before dinner and has been ever since. THEN........our fridge/freezer went out on a Saturday....during college football when I was having people over. They had a truck to me in just over an hour. He replaced some circuit board that had a burn mark on it and everything was cool (yes, pun intended) again. THEN........(yes, we may need to buy some new appliances) our washer machine stopped agitating........we have 3 kids & go through a ton of laundry. Once again....roughly 1 hour we had an ATC guy there who cracked it open and fixed it. From my call to when he left my house was no more than 2 hours. GET THE SERVICE PLAN!! it has been wonderful dealing w/ them because they dont jack up the prices & hope you cant negotiate them down. They give a fair price...and from my experience great service to back up their agreement All of my interaction with this company from the office staff & the repairmen has really been stellar. I live in a luxury condo in Aventura and we are trying to get quotes to have our AC and water heaters replaced. This is not mandatory by the building but we will have 10- 50 units doing this together. I called air around the clock and explained it to the person that answers the phone. An hour later she called me back and told me someone would call me tomorrow to give me a time slot when someone will come. I told her this is for at least 10 units and I'm not waiting for them like the cable guy. I wanted an exact time anytime this week. She couldn't do that. I'm in tears as I write this. Air Around The Clock sold me a lemon unit advertised as brand new 3 years ago. The unit just went out again for about the 15th time since I purchased it. The so called brand new unit failed constantly in the 1st year of purchase and by the 2nd year they were trying to charge me for everything imaginable for a failing unit. I'm now sitting with no air again and I have to call another company and spend more money on top of the over 4K that I spent with Air Around The Clock barely 3 years ago. When they came over two years ago to check on the hardly-working system and fixed it with a fuse, I was thrilled to find an honest repair. They could've said it was anything, and left me with paying the minimum fee of $95 and then I have another place check it and risk another waste of money, or just have them do whatever they say--you know the drill, it's always a tough decision. But this guy fixed it for that minimum charge. He was almost halfway out the door with my gratitude and promise I would of course use them whenever needed again. Then he thought it over. I could see the wheels turning!. He said let me just check ONE MORE THING! Went from my front door back to the unit and told me it was going to need a major repair! I silently listened, and let him take another 15-20 minutes to write up an estimate of $3795! I wish I would've kicked him literally out the door. But hey you never know. Another sales pitch followed a few weeks later, but here we are over two years later and we sit here in our cool apartment on a 95 degree day. I will never forget this attempted ripoff when they were so close to just leaving being honest. I wish every year that my a/c continues to work I could drop my rating another few points. He was courteous, professional, and actually walked me through what was wrong with my AC unit, showing me what was wrong, instead of just telling me. I was out of town for 48 hours when the girl watching my animals called to tell me the air wasnt working. I was in california and no where near home but it was the only air place i could think of(guess i see their trucks all over). Lynn was very nice on the phone...she had the worker dispatched in 20 minutes and my air was working again. I DID NOT think being charged over 300 just to blow out my line was right...but it was sunday and they did get there in less than a 1/2 hour after my call...way too expensive but they did the job and my house is cool again thanks for the prompt service...next time can i have a discount as i feel it was way over priced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Have never replaced or purchased a new AC unit before - so this was an eye opening experience. Worked with the team at Air Around the Clock and I am completely satisfied! They took time to answer all of my questions and when the time came for the actual installation, the service men were polite and kept the work area fairly clean. When the job was all finished.. they cleaned everything up and the new system worked as good as can be. Been well over a year now and the unit continues to run efficient and smooth. I had my $4895.00 air-conditioning installed on 7/18/15. Since then, i have had to call this company at least 6 times for repairs. On basically the same thing. i turn my machine to 79 when i work. I come home tired after 12 hours to a hot 80 degree house. this has happened at least 6 times! Last time (about 2 months ago) after another fucking repair, i had the manager come out and check things out and he sweet talked me that all is ok now. Well 1/26/18, i come home tired to a hot 80 degree house and shut it off like i did all the fucking other times and the compressor does not go off. Coming home to an 80 degree house in the Florida winter is OK. But, I have come home several times in the summer and my house was 95 degrees and I had to sleep in that until this company would come out the next day. they obviously sold me a lemon. the manager told me 2 months ago that there is no lemon laws for air conditioners. Next day, 1/29/18 I get a call, bright and early, from the advertising supervisor unhappy with this review. She said i should not use such language. Don't tell me, a 62 year old how to talk. She and all the others i spoke with refuse to waive the $95 service fee to repair something that keeps breaking down. same problem. If it was fixed , i would not have to be recalling every few months. BTW , when the supervisor came out in Oct, i told him i wanted all the invoices emailed to me. In front of me, he called the office and told someone to do so. I never received it. ahh , I just called another company, A/C Tamarac. Very kind person answered the phone and they will be here in a half hour. Oh, and the service fee is only $49. Status post repair: they installed a surge protector, because I needed one to prevent fuse outage do to Florida weather, replaced the thermostat that Air Around the Clock installed, saying it was too high in voltage. Service fee of $49 waived. You lost a customer that you had since early 1990s due to poor customer service. read more

I have used Air around the Clock for years for multiple properties. It has been awhile but I needed service on a rental property. My tenant complained that the technician was rude but I put that aside. I spoke to the technician over the phone and he gave me a quote and told me they couldn't clean it that day and would have to come back out. First the price was extremely high but I had used them before and I wanted it repaired. He gave me a verbal cost and said the trip charge for that day would be credited towards that cost. When they charged my card, they charged me for the cleaning with no credit AND charged me for the day they came out. I tried calling their office twice and was told someone would call me back and no one ever returned the calls. Based on this they have lost a long term client. read more
