I purchased a pre-owned home and Air Around the Clock installed the AC unit in 2007, I know this because their stickers are all over the inside panels of thr unit. The unit was not installed level which causes the coils to rust and pan to overflow causing water to go down into my utility room and rot out the ceiling. Just to clean coils is going to be between $350-500...I haven't heard the damage on making the unit level but it will be a 2 person job $$$. Why not install properly the 1st time? read more

This company does not have consistency when it states what time they will arrive. Had workers at my house on four different occasions not one of them arrived at the time I was quoted. Additionally, I had to call every time to find out why someone did not arrive. Busy people who are working and have pets have to rearrange their whole days... when you tell someone between 9:00-930 and show up at noon it is unacceptable. read more

They installed a new system in my home last week. My a/c system was out and they installed a new system next day. I could not be happier with both the install and the operation. While my home has not been more comfortable, the install service and tehnicians were friendly, knowledgable, accomodating, respectful of my home and extremely clean in the entire job. I wanted to wait until I was sure on what I needed to write because I wanted to ensure that my review would be fair. My one star is generous because I didn't think Air Around the Clock was either fair or honest. I had them install a brand new complete unit in May 2020 and sometime around June of 2021 I realized that it was not cooling. I called and told them that I need them to check it for me because I didn't think that a new unit should malfunction this soon. They said that because it was past the year I would have to pay $95.00 for then to come do a diagnosis and if they have to do any work they will apply that diagnosis charge to the work. I didn't appreciate having to pay so soon for service after having paid so much for a complete new unit to I waited a bit before reluctantly authorizing them to do the diagnosis. Keep in mind I was already telling them that the reason could be because the Freon was low. They said that one cannot just say so. They would have to see if there are any leaks. So the technician came out on August 31, 2021 and told me that the Freon was low and it would cost $195.00 for him to add Freon. They were going to apply the $95.00 diagnosis to that $195.00. I disputed with him that he was not telling me anything new. I already suspected that the Freon was low hence the unit not cooling. I told him that the office said that he would be diagnosing why and not just adding Freon because without know why it was low we would be doing the same thing all over again. He said that the office just told him to offer me the chance to add the Freon. He said that I will have to set up another visit for someone to check if there is a leak. I told him that I expected him to be doing that today. He said no. He went on to explain that because it took over a year for the Freon to leak out then maybe it was a small leak. I didn't think that the line from the compressor through my house to the air handler was a problem because that was not a problem prior to them installing the new unit so if it was not a defective unit then it must be where they were attached to the line. So it would have been appreciated if the technician would have taken the time to look at those connections instead of just adding Freon which would be lost at some time just as it was previously. So I decided that if I was going to get to the bottom of my problem, I was not going to get there by way of a technician from Air Around The Clock as they have already demonstrated that they are not honest. I was going to wait until my unit stops working properly again and then use a different technician to tell me if Air Around The Clock committed any sins when they installed my unit. What I found out was that they did not properly tighten the connectors from the line to the Air Handler unit so Freon was escaping through that. I cannot get into the head of the technician who installed the unit but it is not difficult for me to suspect that something like this could be deliberate because it provides opportunities for Air Around The Clock to continue making cash bearing visits to fix the same issue over and over. That is the problem with this industry. It is so insulated that it gives unscrupulous people lots of opportunities to deceive the general public and from my experience with Air Around The Clock, they are taking full advantage of those opportunities. read more

My neighbor in Deer Creek had this company install a new Rheem unit in her condo less than 2 years ago at nearly double the cost of others in the same complex who used a number of competitors. The exterior install was sloppy and I personally covered the 20' of 3" PVC pipe they left exposed in her courtyard. Today the air handler motor failed and has to be replaced which unfortunately happens. The part is under warranty, but Air Around the Clock quoted her nearly $500 in labor to replace a "free" motor. The tech was there 10 minutes to troubleshoot and spent less than an hour replacing it. She got them to reduce the bill slightly, but the manager complained that they were "losing money" at that price! If the part is free, how can an warranty service call that took less than 2 hours cost over $400?? I doubt the tech will get paid more than $25/hr and travel time and distance were minimal. Word to the wise, there are dozens of quality AC companies out there that don't gouge their customers and do better work so do your homework and find one of them. read more

I called this company because they are big and I thought more serious. I had a simple problem: I had a bad odor when the AC was on. When they came in and charged me $95 to tell me what it was wrong, they did not say anything about the smell the wanted to replace the whole unit for $5,000. The unit is 11y old but works fine. I did some research and found out on line that sometimes the problem is caused by dirty coils. I called them back and asked them to clean the coils, they charged me $400. They needed cleaning but the problem continued. The 2 technicians that came were really people of few words, poor customer service skills. I still had the bad smell. It was on and off, finally I called another company they came to inspect the unit, DID NOT CHARGE me for it, they told me that the fan blower was full of mold and that caused the problem, the day after they came in and cleaned it and charged me $175. They told me that the people at Air Around the Clock should have seen the fan blower full of mold and advice me that is really bad for my health. Needless to say, I will never use them again. Obviously they wanted me to buy a new unit. What has happened to honesty in South Florida? read more

Air Around the Clock replaced our A/C system. Our experience couldn't have been better! I admit, I was a bit skeptical after reading the Yelp reviews, and I even questioned the salesman John on some of the reviews. John was very professional and patient, listened to and answered both my questions, as well as my husband's questions. There was no high pressure sales, he actually left the estimate with us and encouraged us to get a few more quotes so we would be comfortable. We one upped him on that. My husband was in the A/C business many, many years ago. We sent the quote to several of his former coworkers, each of whom is now in business for themselves, and all the responses were positive. Ryan and Joe, the installers, arrived on time and were very professional. They reviewed everything with us before they started. During the process they purposefully sought us out to show us each step of the way. The job turned out to be bigger than initially thought, so on day 2 Al and Joel came out to help. They also introduced themselves to us, shook our hands and were very professional. For the inside work, they used new tarps on our floors, and when they were done, there was no mess left. On day 3, Ryan and Joe spent the day finishing the job. The whole team went over and above anything we could ever have expected. Our system came with a Nest thermostat, and Ryan patiently walked us through how to use it after he installed it. During the whole replacement process, we were never without air conditioning for any length of time. Our comfort and satisfaction was their number 1 goal. Well, here I am back again to discuss the lack of customer service by Air Around The Clock. I have previously documented the goings on with a new unit that they installed at my home at the very end of June, 2017. Before telling about what happened yesterday, I need to finish the last incident that I posted about. Eventually, the day after my unit was installed, I was told that a supervisor would come out to figure out why the unit wasn't cooling. He discovered the drain line was installed incorrectly and the water backed up and caused the unit to shut itself down. This same person also had to install a thermostat that the installer couldn't do the previous day because his "tool" was broken. A thermostat only requires the use of a screwdriver to be installed. I later received a call from the service department to schedule the thermostat installation( which had already been completed) and "the breakers". I was never told anything about an issue with the breakers. Once again, the same supervisor was sent back to my home, to do the job. Once again( twice that day) I had to take off from work to let him in. Yesterday (8/16/17) the same area that had the new unit was like an oven. It had seemed a little warm the day before also. I called and a repair person was to arrive between 5-7. He did arrive at about 5:30 only to show me that the entire area(box) that connected the unit to my house was hanging in mid-air in the garage. Apparently it was taped on which was an incorrect way to install it.There was at least a foot and a half from the unit on both ends. The hot air from my garage was going in my house. The service person said that he couldn't fix it and no one could, until the morning. He then said I had another area of the house that was being cooled, so use that. I explained that if I had 35 other zones to use, that was not the correct response. Air Around The Clock had failed to perform on many levels. Most importantly they were paid many thousands of dollars and I repeatedly had issues with their faulty workmanship. I called and was told at first, that they would try and get someone out to fixit last night .Then the story changed and they had no one to do it. I pointed out that they advertise emergency repair service 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Also, that this was the second time that they couldn't provide me with emergency service and that I was a long time customer. I was told this was not an emergency. When I asked exactly what did count as an emergency , there was no response other than installer was necessary to fix my issue. I didn't care who was required but they needed to get that person- I was told it was not possible. By the way, my account is notated that repairs must be made as a high priority due to medical necessity. I was assured someone would come out "first thing" and they started at 8. I had to leave my house by 10, which I was assured was not a problem since the fix would take 45 minutes .I didn't hear from anyone until 8:45. They were going to arrive between 9-9:30. When I told them the story about 1st thing and that I had to leave, I was told to "Just reschedule " if I had to leave. I called customer service and explained this story. I wanted to speak to someone at a higher level in the company to discuss the failure to do a proper installation, the way that people spoke to me, as a customer, etc. I was assured that someone would return the call. At 12:15 I called customer service to say no one had called yet, and that the repair people had not yet finished. Once again, an apology was issued and someone would call back. The repair was completed somewhere after 12:45, because I needed to get back to work again. I asked them to close my garage door when they left, which did happen. It again called back at 5:15 to speak with the customer service person who had been trying to help. When I told her it was now the end of the day and no one had called, she told me no one was there now. She left messages on their desks and she had no control over them calling me back or not. I can't even believe that I went through another round with them today, considering what had gone on previously. I'm astounded that no one could bother to call me back. I did ask to speak to the owner of the company to find out if they were aware of what goes on. I also wanted to see if they even cared. I guess I got my answer loins and clear. I had recommended them to friends prior to this mess that began in June. I could never endorse them. The behavior of their employees, misrepresentation of their "emergency service" and failure to take responsibility is unbelieveable.Air Around The Clock, you are shameful. read more

Our AC had been down for an entire day. We thought the unit just needed to be defrosted, which is why we let it sit off for a whole day. When it still wasn't working we called ATC. Bernard was scheduled to be out to our condo that afternoon, but due to the obnoxiously difficult association that we live in, they wouldn't let him in. I truly appreciated him trying his hardest to get by the guard dogs (the ones that we had previously warned of Bernard's arrival). Bernard kindly switched our appointment to first thing the next morning. Terry came out and serviced our unit. He was able to quickly identify that our fan relay majig wasn't functioning. He had the proper parts in his van and was able to resolve our issue, clean the unit, check the freon level, and be out in an hour. Would definitely use ATC again! read more

I learned a valuable lesson from ATC: if you have a leak, just don't tell them when you call them out for service. I did exactly that, and even though the leak was behind the wall, I was blamed for falling in my own house due to a wet spot left by their negligent service man, after they vacuumed all of the water and left water on my tile. Thankfully, I did not injure myself. I just broke the grill holding the filter, which ATC wanted $300 for to replace. I was then told flat out that they were not responsible for what happened and that besides that, they lose money on these service calls to begin with. It appears I'm having a similar experience as others who have left reviews for Air Around the Clock. I wish I had researched before I used them but they do several units in my condominium building. My air conditioning unit was maybe 13-15 years old. It was leaking and Air Around the Clock came to my apartment several times and diagnosed my unit with a different issue every time. They said there was algae in the pan and they kept cleaning it but it was a temporary solution. Finally after coming 5 or 6 times for the same complaint, they told me that I really needed a new AC unit. I wound up purchasing a brand new unit in December. I had to have them come back right away because the unit was leaking SO much water. Turns out they installed the band new AC unit and the water pipe was completely detached leaking water everywhere. They came back and fixed it. Fast forward to now (7 months later) and my AC is not cooling, my apartment has been at 79 degrees for a week now. I have a 3 year contract with them, I tried to make an appointment for Sunday because I work during the week and they said that it would be considered an emergency and would have to charge me an additional $100+. I left work 2 and a half hours early yesterday to have them come out and fix my unit because they will not give you an appointment time, just a two hour block that they cannot tell you until the morning of the appointment (which was actually a 3 hour block of time). Someone came out and first tried to tell me my AC was on heat and not cool (it definitely was NOT), couldn't tell me what was wrong with it, just that he reset it and it was now working. Well several hours later, it's not working again. Now they have to come back out again, of course at their convenience. When the contract ends, I'll be using another company. I was told I was out of warranty and would need to purchase a new unit for $895. I started to research other contractors and I was informed that these units have a 5 year warranty (which I would have qualified for) . Disappointed for clearly being overcharged. I requested they come out and install a new thermostat which took the guy about 10 minutes. I was charged $245 and the part is about $40 @ Lowe's. He also checked out my system and blew out the line, something I didn't request. I was stuck as they charge $95 just to come out, this amount is supposedly deducted if you have work done. My husband was out of town and this needed to be done. Sad because when they installed the system in 2009, they were great. I actually recommended them numerous times...not anymore! We bought 2 new ac syatems from them last year. Went with them because they were one of the few companies offerring in house financing. We decided on the 17 seer Trane syatems. But we needed repairs 7 times the first year. Inckuding a NEW $700 coil needed after 13 months. Eventually we got tired of calling them all the time and let a friend look at the system. The problems were all because of bad install work. We speculate they dropped the system during install. Which contributed to the coil problems. They modified my closet and patched drywall with foil tape? Would have rather paid to have it done right. Now its peeling and i have massive holes in the wall. And both of my touchscreen thermostats were wired wrong... needed to replace both of those too. read more

Really disappointed in these guys. Had used them before, with great results and they were honest, but not this time. The technician took less than 5 minutes to determine in his opinion that the compressor fan needed to be replaced and would be $595. This was really just a ruse to push for the install of a new a/c for almost $5000. Something didn't sound right at all and I got a second opinion. Turns out, the problem was a $15 capacitor, not a fan so clearly marked up so as to make it seem not worth the repair. Second guy did agree that at some point soon I should be replacing the A/C, and he did give me a quote for a larger A/C unit at a more reasonable price. I have technicians come out put a new coil and a new condenser and then you would think they would come in and talk to the client and let them know that everything is working but instead We're just gonna get in the truck. The next day I saw a condensation on the handler and look like oil leaking from where they put the new compressor outside when I had a technician come out to check it he said the condensation is normal and put a piece of tape across it and outside he said that was condensation that oil. Then the technician was rude to my wife And after he just looked at it and did nothing else he was going to drive off. My wife stop them to have them go talk to her father who is 90 years old and paying the bill. I wasn't satisfied so I called the office to have a supervisor come out and was told I would get a call the following morning that never happened now I called again and I have to wait till Monday and today's Thursday. This company is the best one offering repair services, specifically the best regarding the cost and quality of their services. When I called Air Around The Clock for my problem the technician who was assigned to me came right away to do the repair and finished it relatively quickly and did a good job. He also noticed that my ducts were a little dirty and said that the company also takes care of that, and for just a little extra money, he too care of cleaning and maintaining the ducts. NOT HAPPY! I have a yearly maint set up w this company. Have used them w no issue for many years. Last week a very nice guy comes out to check the air conditioner and let's me know that the fan is no good on my unit and could freeze up and flood my house and the compressor need replacing. Quoted me a price. Today, they come out, I assume they changed the compressor and they put in a whole new unit in my apartment. The new unit, that I really did not need, does not fit into the space it is meant to be in. Admittedly I was not watching what they were doing as I assumed they knew what needed to be done here. Then I get a bill. The price was $1500 more than the quite I was given!! The tech tells me the fan that was supposedly going to freeze up had NOTHING wrong w it. He replaced a perfectly good ac unit because that is what the work order said. I am so done w Air Around the Clock and do not recommend them to anyone!! $1500 wtf??? So more drama where this company is concerned. Not only did they scam me into a whole new ac system that I apparently did not need, now 2 days later, it doesn't work!! I cannot stress to you enough how ridiculous this company turned out to be. So now there is more to the story! 2very nice techs came out to assess whether or not the oversized ac unit was in fact too big for my utility closet. Long story short, nothing can be done about it and we're not moving the door as I will still need to manually unhinge it to open past the oversized unit. The upside was that because I was so unhappy with how I had been treated by the office mgr, they offered to refund me almost $400 of the $1500 I was charged over the quoted price. Then the uncaring office mgr calls to say I had to remove all negative social media posts or she won't give me the promised refund. The says I am extorting them. I think she doesn't know what that means. By her withholding the refund, isn't she then extorting me?? Also, she refusing to let me speak with the owner. Saying he is out of town and cannot call me. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. This is an absolutely disturbing review and it is 100% factually accurate. No ax to grind. Our air conditioning was freezing up so we've used air around the clock for the last five years. They just did a maintenance visit last month. They came out again and told us we needed a new unit. Almost $5,000. Called another company they came out, our battery in the thermostat was dead causing the air conditioning to not work. Instead of $5,000 repair it was a $4 battery. These people are the worst people. I would strongly urge you to find another HVAC company. I don't care how many commercials they run or how many trucks they have on the road. I had a 2 hour window for a service call on Saturday, received a text after 51 min (of the 2 hour window), on their way. I had to make 3 phone calls to have the technician show up 1hr 30 min after the text and 30 min after the window. He then looked at the AC unit and said, it's not an AC unit problem, it's an electrical problem, call an electrician. I had had similar problems with the other units in the past, the other technicians have vacuumed the line and then blew them out it out and it resolved the problem. He did not want to do that, after several attempts to ask him, he finally did it. I think it was the end of the day and he did not want to be there. He then said, sorry I cannot fix it, but you need to call an electrician and you owe me $150. What a rip off. Horrible customer service not getting back to me with updates and saying they would call me back and never did. Then trying to tell me the text at 4:51pm that he was on his way was not for me but another customer. I'm not sure how that is possible. I have used Air Around the Clock for over 15 years, maybe now that they are so big, they need people to drive their trucks that are not as qualified. I will be contacting their office during regular business hours to give them the details and feedback on their service; actually lack of service. I had them come out to check on my ac unit and perform a maintenance check. They told me my whole entire unit needed to be replaced which would cost about $4500... plus I asked about duct cleaning and they said over $1000... As a first time home owner I had no idea what the prices were going to reflect. I had two other companies give me estimates and perform a maintenance check. Come to find out- Duct cleaning would be around $300 plus sanitizing and my unit was fine and I would possibly need a new motor within the next year ( which is only about $400). I've used them three times. I don't think there will be a fourth. Today I got charged $795 for a fan motor that A) cost them $0 because it's under warranty to them but not me, and B) took the technician less than 15 minutes to install. That pro-rates out to roughly $3,000 an hour for labor. (EDIT: The technician said the part will ultimately cost Air Around the Clock nothing, and that their up-front cost for it will be reimbursed after their warranty paperwork is filed. Their office called to ask I take this post down because they say that is incorrect.) The technician was rude, and he refused to check the entire system (compressor, etc.) as the people who set up the appointment said he would. He assured me everything was working. It is not. As I write this, 10 hours after the technician left abruptly, we are sweating in here with the thermostat set 6 degrees lower than normal. I'm quite certain I'll be spending hundreds now with another company to fix whatever isn't working. I will say this: Their office staff is very professional. I have no complaints there. (ADDITIONAL EDIT: In fairness, when the system was originally installed, we were very satisfied. We are most unsatisfied after spending nearly $2,000 in the last two years to replace a coil and a fan motor.) We had wall units in our offices for years due to other companies telling us it was not possible to put in a split unit, however, ATC technicians found a way to install a split unit air conditioning system. Don't be fooled by their pleasant phone operators (they were nice). Air Around the Clock installed my current system and it took them three different installers to properly set it up. When the compressor broke, they tried to charge me THREE TIMES the cost that another company charged me me, and they were trying to sell me a generic compressor which would only carry a one year warranty whereas an original manufacture's compressor would continue to be under warranty for another 7 years. Their installation was messy; the job site was clean but it was just an ugly installation which did not look good at all. Wires were run across access panels and they didn't care to adjust the supply plenum to the new handler. Instead, they just installed the plenum at an angle so they wouldn't have to measure a new cut in the return plenum. Just a poor job all around and not trustworthy AT ALL. read more

YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR but I can't post a review without selecting 1 STAR. So for the 3rd time in 3 months I've had to have a technician come out and fix the same issue on an AC that is 14 months old and cost $6500.00. During his 3rd visit for the same problem the technician replaced the over flow switch with a new one to supposedly prevent this issue from happening again. Every time I call at night I'm asked if it's an Emergency it's South Florida in August and I have no AC of course it's an emergency.I have a 4 year old daughter. You employ some of the rudest customer service people I've ever dealt with in my life. I asked for a supervisor to call me twice and never got a call until I posted on a Facebook thread which was promptly erased. Guess ATC wants everyone to think they are great and not let dissatisfied customers express their dissatisfaction. If I had a chance to do it all over again I'd melt before I invested 6500 on a unit from this company. . Even the sales rep who sold us the unit didn't provide an air filter. $6500.00 ac unit and I had to custom order an air filter. HORRIBLE but when you have a monopoly in the area your customer service doesn't really matter it's all about $$$$. read more
