The problem is if you have a dehumidifier like most people in Texas, they don't check that even if it right in their face and they also don't tell you up front that isn't part of the maintenance. So, when your dehumidifier breaks it's obviously not their problem. And when you cancel the maintenance plan they won't give you a partial refund even if you have only had it for one month. Weeks is another example of a company with shady business practices.

I asked, what for, since Ralph said there wasn't a charge & left - John stated, "I don't know a company would stay in business if we didn't charge for this" - I paid the $99 charge, but I think it's horrible business to wait until 30 days after someone comes out to send a bill. I would avoid this company as the owner is not a person of accountability. We paid $22,000 for a…read moreheat pump system which means there was a large margin for the owner. (I had two systems in California installed for $28K as an example, so much less even with the higher labor rates in CA. Master's margins are quite high, at least on heat pumps.) Within one year we had a draining issues that caused $2K worth of damage to our property. The issue was that the drain from the unit to the drain pipe was not coupled properly so the main drain overflowed. While it's not the responsibility of the HVAC installer to do this coupling, it would have been nice to have been informed that we needed to hire a plumber to fix this. We would of done that on a $22K system immediately. We informed the owner and he got defensive and, when we tried to stop him from being defensive (four horsemen and all that), he hung up the phone. Accountability and trust are critical to any business or relationship. My CA installer was so much better. Find a different company if you want an accountable business owner to work with.

They tested the system, found it was the lineset and gave me a price for the repair. The price seemed high enough to have included replacement of the line. After the work was almost done I saw the leaking line had been repaired, not replaced. I asked why, and they said they had not priced it that way and replacing the line would have cost more. They were willing to give me a discount on re-doing the work, but not credit for the repair I had never wanted. I cannot imagine why they priced a job differently than what I had said I wanted without at least warning me the work they were pricing is not what I had said I wanted.

The lady answering the phone was very nice and responsive. They were quick to come to our house, but Matt was equally quick to leave. Matt is arrogant and either incompetent or lazy. He did a very cursory inspection and then wanted to sell me a new unit. Ours is 7 years old and works fine. He said our system has "no issues" as I am sleeping in my car due to the poor air quality and my dad was hospitalized.

I can't really recommend D&A. Danial installed a replacement condensing unit a year ago. Four days…read morelater, on Friday afternoon, it quit cooling. Danial would not answer the phone or respond to texts and I had no choice but to contact another service company. They arrived promptly and after an inspection provided me with a list of several items that were incorrectly installed. They wanted almost as much to repair the defective work as Danial had charged initially. I got them to just put a little freon in the system so that I had cooling for the weekend. When reached the following week, Danial responded and was completely unapologetic about his defective workmanship. He did (he claimed) repair everything and make it as it should have been. About ten months later, again on a Friday, the unit again quit cooling. Danial stated that if I wanted service over the weekend, he would charge me $220 / hour for the (in warranty) service. I again contacted another service contractor who responded promptly and advised me that one of the items that Danial had supposedly repaired ten months earlier was still not correctly installed and further, when Danial had done the initial install, he had not properly flushed the old freon out of the system as it was apparent that there was still some in the system. Again, I got them to put a small amount of freon in the system to give me cooling for the weekend. Danial came out the following week and again, supposedly, repaired his defective workmanship. I am now in a wait and see mode hoping I never have to call him again.
