I had a final inspection on my new HVAC system scheduled with the City of Brea on the morning window of 8 am to 12 pm on 11/12/2025. Ivan from AFB's did a pre-inspection and several minor adjustments to my system starting before 8 am and waited all morning for the inspector to arrive. The inspector arrived late, around 1 pm, shortly after Ivan left to attend other duties. There was quick breaker change requested, and Ivan came back to complete the job, communicated with the inspector providing evidence of work done, and ensured that I passed the final inspection. This review is for a service/repair I had done during the summer. I originally had a different HVAC company come out to do a simple cleaning and maintenance on my roof unit. I won't get into it too much, but I will never go back to them for their poor work. I then found Air Flow Bros, since they had a free estimate checkup. Wow, Jae is the best! Found the issues immediately after opening my unit up. Took his time to explain and point out the different parts of my unit (should be mentioned this was in the summertime of avg temps of 101). He walked me through all the options he could think of, namely replacing my very old unit, or just replacing the blower. I opted to have the blower replaced, and since then it's been working flawlessly. Owner even drove the blower part to have it installed, because if not, it would have been 4-5 days of me waiting for the part with no ac. Because of their excellent service, and treating you with respect, I will definitely be coming to them for anything HVAC related from now on. Will also recommend them to anyone and everyone I know. My filter is pretty clean and he didn't have my current size with him so I just had him deduct it from my invoice so he doesn't have to come back to replace it since I had extra ones. We had some questions about our furnace working correctly. Kenny came out and he was so amazing. He was nice and thorough, checking every vent in every room, checked our actual furnace unit and even looked at our AC. Called to inquire about a whole house fan and attic fans and Andrew (one of the owners) came the very next day to audit my attic. Their pricing was very competitive so I hired them and they came the following week to install the fan. Unfortunately, one of the techs forgot to install one of the attic fans but Andrew was very responsive and scheduled for another tech to come. Fast forward 10 days later and Oscar came and installed the other attic fan. He could not have been more professional and walked me through everything he did. I also used them to service my AC system and Jae (HVAC tech) is honestly one of the best. He's so knowledgeable and goes out of his way for you. The only con with them is that it does take them some time to schedule you or may have to reschedule, which can be annoying. Our unit had not been looked at for almost 10 years so there was quite a bit of dirt and grime that needed to be cleaned out and Kenny made it look brand new with his deep cleaning. Recognizing the furnace was still well within our warranty period, Peter suggested we reach out to our original installer so the service would be covered. I believe honesty is the best policy three either honestly stupid or honestly trying to take people's money away from them because I moved two wires and they're the most basic wires on the system and the technician told me I needed it all motor instead and didn't even try changing the wires to the correct locations which any rookie would have known. You know there's something to companies with over a hundred reviews and a 5 star rating (not 4.7 or 4.8 etc). Air Flow Bros was not the first company that came out to look at my AC unit, but they were the last. The difference in service, thoroughness, professionalism was noticeable. Corey was my technician. He took his time carefully inspecting my AC handler, going in the attic and checking the coil. I very much appreciated his methodical and practical approach to the problem (let's try this and if there is an issue at a later time - we'll credit you the cost of the repair from what you've already paid). The technician from the other company was at my home less than a quarter of the time, before he was firing out ready made quotes for diagnostics that cost more 2x what Air Flow Bros/Corey recommended. Air Flow Bros was the third group that came out to diagnose my A/C problem. Unlike the first two groups, I was not charged a dispatch / diagnose fee of around $90; Air Flow Bros came out for free to look at my system. Since the first and second group diagnosed that I had a leak in my system, I told Victor and Kekoa when they got to my house that the previous two groups had determined there was a leak in my system. Victor insisted on doing his due diligence and tested the system himself before coming to the same conclusion. He and Kekoa then set out to find the leak and, after rooting around in the attic, found a major leak in the evaporator coils. Unlike the previous two groups, they offered up a cheaper fix: replacing JUST the evaporator coils, which would have saved me about $3000. While I ultimately wound up going with another organization for a new system, Victor and Kekoa were awesome and I would happily recommend Air Flow Bros to anyone if those are the kind of employees they have. read more
