His work looks good (not that I have any expertise) and he quality checked it to make sure there were no air leaks in the installation of the dryer vent. He was friendly, courteous and efficient. They missed a couple of vents - if you don't confirm and remind, they would skip. The Air Flows Duct Services coupon that we had said $169 for the "Deep Clean House Special" for "unlimited supply vents" and "unlimited returns". The technician arrived and said that his boss said they could only clean up to 20 vents for the price on the coupon, and it was $18 for each additional vent... Our home has 30 vents, so he said it would be $180 more (so a total of $349)... Even though the coupon says "unlimited supply vents" and "unlimited returns" for $169. This was misleading and didn't feel right, so we decided not to do it. It was also strange that the name of the company on the technician's shirt and his work van said "Clean Air Doctors"... So I'm guessing that "Air Flows Duct Services" is owned by the same people that own "Clean Air Doctors" or they have some kind of partnership deal... But it's another red flag that didn't seem quite right. Nonetheless... Something was "off" and seemed to lack integrity, as they refused to honor their coupon. read more

I purchased a new construction home and had been told some horror stories from friends who didn't get their ducts cleaned after moving into their homes. I called Air Flows Chicago on a Sunday, and they scheduled me for a cleaning Tuesday. The two gentlemen who came into my home were courteous and professional, answered all my questions and were extremely considerate about cleaning up after themselves. It's February and there is still lots of snow/ slush/ salt on the ground so even walking into someone's home from outside brings a potential for grime. This past week, the blower to my motor in my furnace died. Why? The dust that was in my vents that Air Flows Air Duct Services was supposed to be removed was instead blown and pushed down in the furnace and blocked the air passage thus burning out my motor. I had to call my HVAC contact to come rescue me last week when the temps dropped in the 30's and 40's. I lived in my home for almost 7 months before these guys came out and had never experienced anything remotely close to that. I blame myself, because I didn't supervise their work, merely just going off their photos of before and after and trusting their result. I got duped in to using these guys because of a living social coupon, and ended up splurging over $400 of inept work. Buyers beware. The guys came same day to clean out our dryer duct because it was clogged. They did a through inspection and found the problem, which was a birds nest clogged in our vents. I bought a coupon for dryer vent cleaning through Angie's List and was very satisfied. Air Flows seems to have a lot of business because I had to schedule a few weeks out, but that wasn't a big inconvenience. Kevin called to let us know when he'd arrive, and was in our home for less than 30 minutes. He also wasn't even annoyed when I directed him to the wrong place for the outside vent. He cleaned the vent as planned, but noticed the connector was also clogged. He actually took care of that too - big help. He also showed me how to detach it myself, which I may or may not trust myself to do correctly. Either way we will be calling again next year. read more

I recently used Air Flows for a dryer vent installation. I received in-person quotes from 3 different companies, and decided to go with Air Flows since they seemed the most knowledgeable/experienced. My situation was a bit special - I expected that I already had the piping for a vent in my walls, based on my condo neighbors laundry room setup above/below me. I just needed some help finding the piping, the external exhaust outlet, and installing the vent down into my laundry room from the piping. Antoine from Air Flows was assigned to my call - and he did a great job! He cut into my drywall, found the piping right away, found/repaired the external exhausted exit, made sure everything was clean and up to code, and made sure I had the proper dryer vent tubing in my laundry room so that I could get a stackable washer/dryer installed. Antoine was professional, efficient, and answered all my questions. I would definitely hire them again! This service is a complete ripoff, First time they came with a shop vac and an air compressor and No camera. After i complained they they came back out 1 week later and finally hooked up a large vac unit in the basement after I watched him cut the holes which he did not do the first time, This time they did not clean the vents so not sure what good it did since they were suppose to clean the vents with the vacum hooked up. I had someone else take a video and pictures showing the dirt they did not remove. They were also suppose to sanitze all the vents? The Technician were very rude and told me they were in a rush to leave. If you have no need of your money use these people and you can pay someone else to do it again after there done. read more

Happy is an understatement. My house smelled very bad. Apparently a mouse died in some duct in the middle of our kitchen ceiling. I reached out to a duct company we used in the past for yearly duct cleaning but they were busy. Had this company come out for duct cleaning. Initially, they canceled on me and then rescheduled. On the day of, they were 1.5 hrs late w/ no apology. Call received to simply say, they were on their way; given that I didn't have anything else planned for the day, I allowed it. It was the first time my 15 y.o. home had this service and the first time I had requested such a service. I found this company through mail advertisement; the price said $169 for unlimited ducts. The small print is very small but knew there would be an additional charge. I called and was quoted $250. In the end, my home of 3000 sq ft was charged $380 (part check/part cash on the side). The contract is vague and worthless; prices are hand written. How would anyone know if the prices are fair or the same for all? Did they do a good job? I don't know; I'm not an expert. Two guys worked for 1.5 hrs. I hope they did all they said they would do; I didn't follow them around. They recommended an additional service of sanitizing/disinfecting the vents for an extra charge. I was sold into it; did they do it; I don't have a clue and have no way of knowing; again, I didn't follow them to see what they were doing. I also didn't appreciate that in the end, they opened my garage to dump garbage in my bin. There was no need for that. Any company that comes out for services should take the garbage with or ask for permission to dump it in your garage. I think they were just being nosy and I didn't appreciate that. I didn't appreciate the shocking price nor their lateness. I recommend anyone considering this service request an in-home estimate before the work is done, this way there are No Surprises and No Haggling. They claimed they cleaned the vents; but, I am extremely upset over the dryer vent not cleaned even though I paid for it. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
