Last winter, on a very cold day, my home's forced air heating system died. I made a few calls looking for same day service. Air Group said they could be there in a few hours, but couldn't tell me what the circuit board replacement would cost. Some years earlier I had the board replaced for a few hundred dollars including labor.The Air Group service tech found the board was defective, and told me the charge for the board would be $600. I called their office to confirm their excessive price, and was told that that is their price. I mentioned that this board is commonly available on the internet for around $150. Air Group's attitude was take it, or leave it! With the outside temperature less than 30 degrees, i had little choice but to take it. I strongly feel that this is an outfit to avoid. read more

Courteous, reliable and professional. Our air conditioning unit broke down last night. We called Air Group at 6:45 AM this morning, and left a message. We expected a call back after 8, but Air Group returned the call within 5 minutes. A highly qualified technician came to our house later in the morning, and worked with us to provide solutions that work for us. It's almost 2PM on the same day, and it's about 90 degrees outside. But thanks to Air Group, I'm happy to say it's quite comfortable inside! I highly recommend Air Group! read more

Just had an Air Group service technician, Will, storm off without finishing the job. He was rude initially and things escalated further when he refused to walk us through the problem (very basic stuff that every technician does as part of their job). He refused to answer questions and behaved like a petulant child... even when I apologized and tried to de-escalate the situation. I've never seen such unprofessional behavior. I have a split-system (ductless) in my home. My tech (Jim) showed up on time only to spend about 5 minutes doing diagnostics. He couldn't be bothered even opening the system to attempt to fix what is only a noise issue with the inside unit. Instead, he recommends we buy a whole new one. Within four hours I received a call from a salesperson attempting to sell me a new split system. It took him 5 minutes to tell me what we already knew (the unit makes noise and something is rattling inside of it) and then he sat in his truck for 15 minutes to allow time to pass and then presented me with a $143. bill for nothing. My experience with AIR GROUP was a 10! Professional from the moment we spoke to someone on the phone to the end of the job. I used AIR GROUP for a plumber on this job. Best plumber ever! Jerry was incredible! He was very smart, knowledgeable and professional. Jerry was neat and made sure to take precautions using clean tarps to properly cover the area he was working on. Diagnosed the problem, fixed the issues that he could and recommended solutions to go forward. As for the cost of doing business, this company earns every penny. I have been on air groups service plan for 7+ years now. All I can say is they have never let me down. They came out in 100 degree heat to check a noise on my A/C and also keep my furnace tuned and running through two polar vortex. When it came time to replace my water heater I called air group. Brian my my HVAC service tech speced out the job. Then Brooke in customer service answered all my questions and set up my install in only three days. Then John from the plumbing division showed up to do the install. He was very personable and did a great job. He explained every step of the install right down to the town permit process. I am very happy with air group; now listen....getting trained professionals does not come cheap but if you want a company that will show up when you have a problem or have new equipment installed and know it's done right then air group is for you. I plan on keeping my contract with them for years to come. read more

I have been a long time customer of Air Group. However, after a conversation with one of their service managers, Gary Haar, I will no longer be using them for anything. We had been having an issue with an ac unit that they installed and warrantied. We decided to get a second opinion from another company and then get back to Air Group. When we called them to schedule an appointment, Heather, who answered the phone, told us that Gary no longer wanted to service our account. Since he wasn't brave enough to tell us himself, we insisted on speaking with him to find out why. He really offered no good explanation and sounded petty, childish and simply bothered that we had involved another company. It almost sounded like we had hurt Gary's feelings. We eventually hung up after he continued to whine about no longer servicing the account. This could be the worst customer service I have ever received, especially from a company with which I have spent tens of thousands of dollars. We will now be happy to spend that money with one of the many other companies in the area and will spread the word about how badly we were treated. read more

I have been using the Air Group for over 20 years for all my home's HVAC needs and now a new whole house generator. They have always done a very good job during installation and maintenance visits. They have been very responsive to any questions or problems I may have had. Several years ago, they solved a CO2 problem my house was having that numerous other vendors and consultants had failed to do. They were able to install a whole house generator, shortly after Hurricane Sandy blew through, that I used for close to 10 days due to no power in my area. I highly recommend the company. read more

You'd better be ready when they arrive, because the clock starts ticking from the moment they approach your house. Their guy came to the door unprepared and had to go back to his truck, even though he knew what the job was. And he took his time to do the work, while charging us by the half hour ($75 each, even if it's a few minutes past). Replacing a faucet (a fairly simple, straightforward job) took more than an hour and ended up costing us $319, even though we supplied the hardware. We will never, ever, use them again. read more

Please be warned: this is not a good company by any means. Under their previous name of Comfort Conditioning, they serviced my family's home for over fifteen years. Like many others after this last unusually mild and wet winter, our air conditioning system had to be cleaned. Their estimates were outrageous in comparison to others and they suggested replacing things wholesale that other contractors claimed were wholly adequate. Worse, they were rude, unprofessional, and sent a terribly inexperienced technician on two of the last occasions. Even worse, however, was what I then found out. It turns out that for over a decade, Air Group (or Comfort Conditioning) had indeed not been doing the work we had contracted them to do, namely cleaning the vents among other things. My entire family has been suffering from allergies for roughly that period--many of them new and undoubtedly the products of our ventilation. Air Group simply moved things around; they never did much of anything, in turns out, and they (e.g. different employees) lied about it consistently for over a decade. This is not a case of a bad apple but a rotten orchard. If you read other reviews on other websites (I'm suspicious about the ones here), you'll see that this was far from a common experience. read more

I have mixed feelings about Air Group... I do not have a service plan with them, yet they are great at responding to a service call usually within a day. What upsets me is the push for a service contract. I have calculated several times the cost of the plan vs. calling as needed - the service plan ends up costing much more. Today I needed an igniter switch replaced on my furnace. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem, had the necessary part on his truck and made the repair - all good. I paid by credit card. Then I was curious - I went online to see what the part actually costs. VERY PISSED! I was charged $227.74 for a part that only costs around $38.00!!! This was for the part alone - I still had the charge for the service call. Happy with the quick response & repair, NOT happy with the inflated price of the parts. Even with the service plan, the part would have cost much more than the online price. read more

I have a very old home with some tricky turns and some delicate ceiling and trim details. Deciding to put in central air a few years ago made me as nervous as I was excited to pull the trigger. I got three (3) estimates (all over $10K yikes). Air Group was the most expensive but they insisted they would have the job done in one day and that my room details would be undisturbed. Both other companies said it would be a 3-5 day project. I rolled the dice and went with the Air Group. The morning of the install they were supposed to arrive at 8:00. When I raised my shades a 20 minutes to 8 there were five (5) vans of guys waiting in my driveway. No less than 8-10 guys doing the install. 1 putting down paper for foot traffic, 2 in the attic, 1 cutting ducts, 2 wiring outside... 1 on the roof. In the end they were done in one day. The service and install was neat and professional. Two years later I am totally satisfied. I am going to have them covert over my heating system in the spring. Pros - all of the above. Cons - apparently maintaince calls can be kind of expensive i.e. filter change and check up. read more

My heat pump was making a lot of noises after re-charging. I called Air Group to service the unit. The tech came out looked at the unit, check the currents, check the freon capacity and said there is nothing he can do, unit is too old. Service charge was $400. So basically I paid for non-service and need to replace the unit. read more

Air Group is installing Triangle Tube products. These are presented as premium high quality products. Triangle Tube is F rated on the BBB. My Triangle Tube water heater is bad. It is under warranty so lucky me, I get another water heater that is just as likely to fail and all I have to do is PAY $900 so Air Group can get another install job out of it since labor is not covered on the warranty of this premium product. I had sent a picture of the issue with my water heater to Air group and based on the picture, they thought it was a part failure that is not under warranty and Air group never came out to do a warranty check. 2 years later I forced the issue and Air group finally came out to determine the water heater was bad. Air Group has refused to contact Triangle Tube to discuss this as their policy is to discuss this only with their distributor. Triangle Tube wants feedback from the contractor. I am stuck in the middle getting frustrated and Air Group doesn't like my frustration. Even Triangle Tube has stated in email that Contractor nor distributor has contacted them directly with any official declaration of the issue with my water heater. My conclusion is that Air Group is holding me hostage on the installation fee and without my agreeing to that service call, they are not starting the warranty process. There is no other explanation as to why Air Group is holding this process up. read more

Would not recommend. Highly over priced. We had a central air unit replaced and it blew up within 2 weeks of being used. Has been a month and they still have not came back to replace the compressor. Said they needed to order parts. Hoping the furnace and wiring is not messed up now. Found out it could have been done for about half the cost of what they charged and we did not have air for the end of summer and now afraid to use the furnace for heat too, until they come back. read more

Update: Did not go as well with our boiler, unfortunately. Plumbing was routed to the return in error, so the entire back of our house remained without heat over the weekend until they could come back and fix it. So, after 2 additional time windows of waiting for them (one to assess their error and one to resolve it), it was fixed. Also, the project manager teased my husband about having to speak to his wife before making a decision to accept their offer. Seemed unprofessional. For us, there was a markedly different caliber of staff that originally did our AC install. I would be on the fence to use them again. read more

I even called and emailed to see where it was and nothing. They told me Giancarlo will send me an email. I needed AC service when the compressor stopped working. Air Group had a technician out faster than a pizza delivery! Joe, the tech was very professional and had the problem fixed quickly. I've previously had some really bad experiences with AC contractors, from botched work to people trying to sell me new systems instead of doing simple repairs, and always with a two week wait for an appointment. Joe from Air Group was honest and described exactly what was wrong, and he had everything fixed in less than 90 minutes from my initial call. These guys rock! read more

AirGroupLLC is worst company, cheating company!!! There has been a problem with my furnace for a while. I called Air Group (wrong decision!) and they sent a technician a few days later. He spent an hour and half doing diagnosis and could not locate the problem. He told me the problem could be either with thermostat or circuit board. But I still need to pay 140 dollars for this failed diagnosis. I was not happy but asked what more he can do to fix the problem. He said he needs new thermostat and new circuit board to locate the problem, and he went out to get those. After half hour, he came back and did testing. He told me the problem is with circuit board and gave me the quote of 861 dollars for replacing the board including labor. He stayed for another hour to install the circuit board. One hour of labor cost 100 dollars so they actually charged 761 dollars for the board. I did not know anything about the price of circuit board at that moment and agreed which turned out to be a big mistake. After technician left, I looked up in the internet and called a few of my friends who had problem with their furnace before. The price of this circuit board is actually no more than 300 dollars. They more than doubled the price. I called them and asked them to refund me some money. The manager named Gary is very rude and told me as long as I agreed the quote there is nothing he can do. They said they don't care if I or anyone else would like to use their service again. Their only purpose is to find the next victim. Never call this company, overcharging and greedy is the sticker on their face. Do not trust the positive reviews about this company, they are all created by their own employees. Find an independent qualified local contractor. They can do anything that Air Group LLC can do. read more

I called another company to come and give me an estimate, so I took the day off of work and waited for them to come. I got a phone call telling me that they had to cancel my appointment. I was so mad. I called Air Group, and they had someone call me right back and was at my house 40 minutes later to give me an estimate. He (Dave) walked me through the process to replace my heat pump in my house, and gave me options with the prices and how the financing worked. (This was on a Tuesday) The following Wednesday, Rob, Pete and Jonathan showed up on time, and did a wonderful job on my installation. They were so polite, clean and did a great job setting up everything, and explained how everything worked to me. They walked me through setting up the timer for each day of the week, explained how my humidifier worked and made my experience with Air Group great! We had a non working second floor A/C unit in 2014. Air group had originally installed the two units in the house in 2003. The repair person Will determined that the Puron was gone and that some of the controls were burnt out. He replaced the Puron and added a tracer only looking at the outside compressor never even bothering to take a look at the air handler in the attic. He replaced the controls on the outside compressor and then charged $516 for everything. The A/C worked last summer but when we turned it on this season the Puron was gone and the unit wasn't producing any cooling. We have now found out that the evaporator coil was the problem as the oil and tracer met at the air handler in the attic. I called Air Group they told me I should have called for a leak search an additional $402 and then labor and materials for any repairs. Then refill the Puron into the unit. So, we are looking at approximately $3,000 in cost. Their repair person didn't do his job never looking at the air handler in the attic yet filling up the Puron without repairing the leak knowing full well that it would be gone. Either he was lazy or incompetent, but the bottom line was they wanted to charge an unbelievable amount of money to fix the problem. Their customer service person Kim stated "we are not trying to screw you." That pretty much wraps a bow on my customer experience with this company. I've used Airgroup (and Comforto) previously and have always been happy, but this time I was disappointed. Their salesman seemed knowledgeable when he gave me an estimate and the estimate was reasonable so I went with them. Unfortunately that was the last time they satisfied me. There were 4 specific items that were a problem - none of them dramatic, but all in all left a bad taste in my mouth. (1) The salesman indicated 3 installers - only 2 came (though they were prompt). Unfortunately 2 installers took longer that 3 installers probably would have taken for the install. The installers were courteous and the regional manager stopped by to make sure things were going ok, but (2) if I didn't walk in to check how things were going, the install would have been kludgy and not at all what I would have wanted (with a condenser pump almost in the middle of my utility room floor. (3) One of the reasons I chose Airgroup was I was promised that there would continue to be a gravity feed condensation overflow, but the installation in fact required a condensation pump. And finally (4) there was a small amount of rusty liquid left on my hot water heater. The installer actually pointed it out to me and said I had a chimney leak of some sort. An amazing coincidence that the leak occurred the same day and time when my new AC was being installed. I had it checked out by another vendor's serviceman the next day and he said that it appeared that the installer left something on the top of the hot water heater and it created the mess. Since I have not had any other problems with any liquid since the installation more that 2 weeks ago, I have to accept the "installer did it" explanation. The most disappointing part of all this is that: (a) Airgroup has a customer evaluation form that I filled out and mailed in more that 2 weeks ago. I indicated I would be very willing/ desirous to discuss my issues with them and no one bothered to call me. This is NOT good customer service. (b) The salesperson called 2 days after the install and asked me how everything went and I told him what happened and told him that I filled out the evaluation form and mailed it in and all the salesman said was that he was sorry, and that he knew the head of Airgroup read every review. No explanation, no statement that he would look into what occurred - just that he was sorry -- again not good customer service! I have waited 2 1/2 weeks before posting this to give enough time for my mailed-in evaluation to go through the process and to give anyone time to contact me - but no one has contacted me. read more

Air Group is the company the sellers we bought our house from used to have the hot water boiler inspected before closing. The first time we tried to turn on the heat, the radiators worked just fine but the baseboard heaters wouldn't get hot. I called Air Group to see if they could help me troubleshoot the problem over the phone, since one of their technicians had just given our system a clean inspection about 3 months previously. The woman I spoke with on the phone was not only unhelpful, but downright rude. She accused me of not knowing how to work my thermostat. They offered to send a technician out, but would charge the diagnostic fee. No, thanks! I had another local company out, they were super friendly and immediately discovered the problem was simply a valve that had been shut off (presumably during the inspection, since the sellers never had any issue). Unfortunately, it cost me $200 to resolve this simple problem, and if Air Group had any customer service or backed up their work, they could have helped me resolve the issue in a matter of minutes over the phone. There are plenty of well reviewed local companies to choose from, I do not recommend a company that is rude and offers no customer service! read more
