Will came out and took a look at our antiquated 1986 (!) system and although the workhorse was functional it was clear I needed an upgrade. We highly commend Air Products and Services for their outstanding customer service when our HVAC packaged system on the roof of our tri-level townhome broke during very hot weather several weeks ago. The HVAC company that had serviced our HVAC twice yearly for a number of years came out and told us the cost to have it repaired. Inasmuch as we had put so much money into repairs already, we decided it was time to purchase a new system. We interviewed several companies and got differing opinions regarding what we needed in a new system. We were most impressed by the demeanor and recommendations of Willian (Bill) Doubt from Air Products and Services. He informed us that unless it was found that we needed certain items after testing the new unit, it would be unnecessary to purchase them upfront, which another company recommended. He got our vote for honesty. Bill sent out Craig Massetto, general manager of Air Products and Services, to look at our current system, especially the zoning we had. We were very impressed by him. One of the things he informed us about was that one of the pieces of auxiliary equipment was installed incorrectly. On the day that the HVAC system was put in, Jose and Jesus from the company came in the early morning to get the current HVAC system, etc. ready for removal and told us what would transpire. Craig came to supervise the crane operation and to start the installation. The crane arrived at 9 AM, as promised, and the HVAC system and auxiliary equipment was transferred to the roof. Jose and Jesus worked throughout the day on the roof (in 90 plus degree weather) to install the unit, auxiliary equipment, and then replace two thermostats. We were very impressed with their knowledge and thoroughness. It was obvious that they had been very well trained. They patiently answered all our many questions and were respectful of our property. After testing the new system, we followed recommendations of the company to revert to a two-zone system instead of three zones and the recommendation to use a 11 MERV filter instead of a 13 MERV filter. They checked to make sure that everything was working properly and we had no further questions before they left at the end of the long day. From the beginning to the end of this project we were highly impressed with the expertise from all associates of this company. We give them our highest recommendation. read more

I've had these guys out to fix my HVAC in Simi twice now, once in the summer, when my AC broke and it was over 100 degrees, and now this past week, when we discovered our heater wasn't working. It took a few days for them to get out to me during the summer months, which was not surprising, as AC units tend to fail when you need them most and there's always a lot of demand. The tech they sent in the summer managed to get our 30+ year old AC working beautifully for the duration of the season, and that helped buy us some time to save for a new system. So this winter, when we finally needed the heat, they came out probably the day after we called to check our system out. The tech who came was the same person as our first visit- clean, polite, communicative and friendly- and the look on his face when he saw the relic he'd fixed the summer before was so funny! It was the best sort of "wtf is this old thing?!"... almost like watching your best friend open a present from your grandmother. Hahaha yeah good luck fixing that thing! We got a reasonable quote to replace both the old heating unit and the AC, and a week or so later the techs made it out to Simi Valley to get us all hooked up. It was a fairly extensive job, as both units were literally from the 1980's, but they got it done quickly and without any drama or fuss. They were super nice guys, and were careful not to let our dogs out or make a mess, and just generally, I can not say enough nice things about this crew. It can be tough to find reliable, competent professionals in the trades, so personally I'm keeping Air Products & Services at the top of my list. read more

Many years ago, I paid a friend of a friend of a friend to install a new HVAC system because I was cheap. Everyone I have spoken with from Air Products is GREAT. They are not only knowledgeable/good at what they do, but also NICE people. Elizabeth arranged everything. (And knew better than I did what I needed.) Bill offered a quote for a replacement unit, worst case scenario. John fixed my broken HVAC unit, without charging for any parts. I am a very skeptical person, with regards to sales people. When Elizabeth suggested the Comfort Club, I thought it was a terrible idea, just marketing/sales fluff. Turns out the Comfort Club from Air Products is exactly what I needed. (Comfort Club is a low-cost maintenance agreement with Air Products, having them regularly service your HVAC.) As previously mentioned; Air Products fixed my broken HVAC. Afterwards, they said the repair was so minor it was included with Comfort Club and there was no extra charge. That is incredibly honesty. I thought my HVAC needed at least an expensive blower motor. If you're the type of person that gets your car maintained regularly, you will love what Comfort Club from Air Products offers. If you're the type of person that takes the car to the shop after it breaks, you should learn to love what Comfort Club from Air Products offers. Living in a condo, with 11 other families in the building, I plan to let them all know there is a great resource available to postpone the inevitable need for a crane. (A crane is required to replace the HVAC units located on top of our building.) read more

Their response to our inquiry was super prompt (over Christmas holidays!), excellent assessment and proposal by service rep, Bob Curran, who stayed on with the project through completion, expert installation by personnel that was courteous and professional. They came quite a bit more expensive than other proposals we received but they were the only straight shooters... and we are glad we used them (you get what you pay for)! They repaired a problem where dirty air was circulating back into the house; installed a new shut-off valve; replaced a hard pipe with flex piping; and performed annual maintenance on the unit (cleaning the unit, changing filters, ensuring everything was running smoothly). Repairs were $87, cost for twice-a-year maintenance service (this visit for the heater; another visit in 6 months for the HVAC unit) was $289. John was extremely professional, courteous, and very clear in communicating the work that he had done and why. Because the company had serviced this unit for the previous owner of the house, he also let us know what the past service history had been. E.g., he mentioned that the HVAC unit was older and less efficient, but also said that he wouldn't recommend making a change unless the unit stopped working. When the day comes when the unit doesn't work, our money would be better spent on a more energy- and cost-efficient unit rather than fixing what is out there. All in all, a very nice technician who didn't try to upsell us on stuff we didn't need this minute. read more

Our installer made some mistakes, leaving us with a hole in our roof 3 days before Christmas last year. Bottom line, the owner (William) stood by his word and went out of his way to help get it fixed before the rain came. Found out about Air Products & Services because they did work at a friend's house. I got a new HVAC system installed, including new ductwork, since I had asbestos (side note: their subcontractor for the asbestos removal is just ok, not great). They also rebuilt the platform that my furnace and water heater are sitting on; it's rock solid now. Everything from the sales consultation to the installation was great. Bill, Craig, Lucio, Joey, and (I think?) Adam were all great to deal with. I was particularly impressed with Lucio, who is knowledgeable, hard-working, and (from what I could tell) training and mentoring the other guys. My smart thermostat had issues after just one month, but they ordered a new one under warranty and should be replacing it later this week. All in all, a good experience. read more

It was a messy two day install with workmen in the attic and in the yard.Our old system was a dinosaur. I called Air products and spoke with Liz to get a second opinion quote for a blower motor. My company quoted almost $1,000 for a new Ecm Motor on a unit I had installed last year. When I gave her my model and serial number she informed me my unit should be under parts warranty for 10 years. I ended up having it replaced for free by the installing company but i appreciated her honesty. Its hard to find a company willing to be honest in this industry.
