Found short at t-stat, repaired. T-stat old, christmas lights sound, and wire bent in wall to mount properly." An Emerson 1F78-144 thermostat was installed. June 3, 2024: Had Temperature Pro Katy-Cypress perform a system evaluation. July 5, 2024: AC experienced issues. Excel Air LLC replaced a dual run capacitor. July 11, 2024: AC stopped working again. Contacted Texas Air Care A/C & Heating. Paid an additional $228.95. Invoice states "Found small short in low volt wire under Cougs - Have spot on wire stripped back wire & re-connected. Con Vactor seems ok - monitor," and a fuse was replaced. December 27, 2024: The same HVAC issue recurred. Excel Air LLC was called. They replaced the Emerson 1F78-144 thermostat that Texas Air Care A/C & Heating had installed on June 2nd. The HVAC system has functioned since this thermostat replacement by Excel Air LLC.

I called him because my Lennox machine wasn't blowing cold air. Over the phone, he let me know that Lennox has an issue with evaporator coils and I likely have a leak. I have him come to my house less than 24 hours later and he takes a look at the unit. The unit went into protection mode due to a power surge. John told me over the phone that we would be looking at a major repair because I failed to mention the power surge, so he didn't know. But he looked at the unit and explained to me that a power surge will turn ACs into fan systems, and that all I have to do next time is wait an hour and turn the unit back on. No upsell, just 99 dollars for his time and expertise. I was prepare to spend thousands. At that point, I felt very comfortable with John's ethics. It's a good thing to have. I asked him to do a service on the machines (clean, etc, yearly maintenance) and he told me he was happy to. However, his priority was to get customers with no working AC up and running. I'm okay with that. It's a sign of good principles. Also, he told me he's proud of his install work. I know my machines will break again, and when they do I hope he'll be around to help.

Mike (owner?) answered and said he would send out Stephan that afternoon at 2:00 p.m.. I left to take a return to the USPS on Red Oak but couldn't get away in time for the appointment. Stephan called as I was leaving the Post Office and he agreed to wait until I got home. Stephan quickly diagnosed the problem (failed capacitor) and had a replacement in hand. He explained the cost, which was more than fair. Stephan quickly installed the replacement and tested to insure it was working properly. He went inside and checked and adjusted the thermostat at no additional charge. High quality work at a more than fair price. I'll definitely use this provider in the future.

I explained that I was unaware that Comfort Squad was bought out by Mr. Reliable, so I called them for a service because my drain from the hvac drip pan appeared to be draining quite a bit from the hose in the attic. I have a service plan with Comfort Squad, so I called them to see if there is a bigger problem or a clog. The service tech came for 5 min and said you need a plumber because your sink on the other side of the house is draining slowly and that is probably the issue. Ultimately, that may be the issue, but as I said the tech was here maybe 5 min. He then states the cost is $50.00. I said for what. You have been here 5 min. I state I have a service plan from Comfort Squad, even at that point he still does not point out that Comfort Squad was bought out and we don't use their service plan. He said, I will let the office know. So then the office calls me and states that I have a charge of $50.00. I explain, I had a service plan, and that the tech was here for 5 minutes or less. So I say, go a head and invoice me, I think this is BS but go ahead and invoice me. The dispatch manager then tells me how they are no longer Comfort Squad and I asked why haven't you sent out a notice to all of the past clients of Comfort Squad and let us know what changes to expect. He then states, "well we can not come out for any new services until the $50.00 is paid." This is where I felt insulted because I already requested the invoice and said I was going to pay, why are you telling me if I do not pay..." Unfortunately, I am extremely dissatisfied with this entire process. Because now that I think of it, why didn't the person I set the appointment with yesterday on the phone inform me it would be $50.00 and that they were no longer Comfort Squad. It's unfortunate because I brought business to Comfort Squad because they had such spectacular service. What a change...

Got HVAC Heroes to replace my existing HVAC system with a new one…read morein September 2023. HVAC Heroes had both air conditioning and heating replaced. They had a contract for 2 years of labor service In October when the temperatures started to fall, my heater was not working and did not warm up the house. The technician came in and replaced the zoning system and charged me an additional large amount. Even after that, the heater is not working. I have tried to follow up with their technician and their office to help get someone to come and fix the issue. I am not getting any response or help to resolve the issue I would give -1 rating to them if possible. With faulty installation from the beginning and not helping to fix or resolve the issue, it has been a nightmare to deal with this vendor.

Called them out on a Sunday due to an issue so I had to pay an extra weekend fee. I was advised everything was in good working order. The unit continued tripping the breaker so I had an electrician come out and check all wiring at which point he advised it was a problem with the a/c unit. I called another company out to get a second opinion on the a/c unit and they immediately found the problem and fixed it. I called back in an attempt to get a refund but was denied by the service manager. I paid $150 to have one of their technicians come out and basically kick the tire then tell me all is good when it was not.

Had a technician come out on a Monday to repair/ replace some damaged duct work. Technician said he…read morecould do anything as there was moisture present and we had to call another company to dry everything out. Did that, then attempted for 2 days to get Air express to come back out and fix the ducts so the area would dry out. Absolutely horrible communication, I had to keep calling and calling and they can't give an ETA. Finally they told me he would be here between 5:30pm and 7:30 pm. At 7:45pm, still no call or update. It is now 8:53pm and still no call from anyone. What a joke of a company. Do not call these people, they are incompetent. EDIT- The owner called me to apologize for all of the miscommunication and hassle. We spoke for a bit and I believe he was genuinely sorry. He even offered me a free membership and to do the work at a discounted rate. While I wasn't out to get anything for free and declined his offer, I would most likely give them a 2nd chance. Chalk it up to a busy week, and general chaos.
