I've been here twice now. Once for lunch and once for dinner, and I've had a variation of their sample platter each time. Both times, the service and food have been fantastic! Their ribs fall off of the bone, and have a nice rub on the outside with some good smoke flavor. While I usually don't like brisket, their brisket is excellent and I haven't had any that was extra fatty or grisly. Their pulled pork is more chopped than pulled, but it is very solid too. They have two sauces that are thick and hickory based like I prefer. The sauce is not the thin vinegar base or Carolina style that other places might serve. Importantly, the sauce is served on the side. They have a small but good selection of draft beers and a nice bar. They didn't have the cups to make a Mile, which my wife found disappointing. The place is small and off of the beaten path for many people, but worth the wait. We had a group of 8 on a Saturday night and had to wait an hour, which didn't seem unreasonable given our group size. read more

My husband and I tried AG for the 1st time. The restaurant is very small & tables, very close together. The sun was in my eyes until the sun set behind the hotel across the street. Our waitress was very friendly & explained the menu to us. We weren't very hungry so decided to go with the dinner salad. My husband added steak and I added salmon. The salads came out in a bowl which was small for the price. The steak was cut in pretty big pieces & was tough & not very flavorful. My salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. Bread would have been a nice addition, but didn't come along with the salads. I wouldn't recommend the salads there. I think they are more of a bbq place which the next table ordered & looked good. read more

Had the salad bar which was fresh with several choices of veggies and assorted salads....coleslaw, pasta, sweet cucumber &potato. First time going with my wife as she suggested going. We had great service and our food was great but I substituted my fries for onion rings and the onion rings were very delicious only they skimped on size portion. If they give a little more portion size on that then five stars would really be in order. A must try if you want something fresh and new. Great wait staff and ask for Alexandria who was our server. New ownership. Been open for a week. Alexandria has been great. Service is top notch and the food is great. I will be back my next visit.

We stopped there for lunch today and was disappointed in the service and the food. I had the breaded tenderloin and fries. The tenderloin was extremely dry and tough. The fries were barely warm. The service was poor our waitress never asked if we wanted any refill on our drinks. We got our drinks filled by asking another employee. The price on the soft drinks is ridiculous. read more

Unfortunately for us the waitress serving us had family and in the booth behind us so she didn't have much time for us and was mostly busy cackling with them in my ear. I left with a headache. The chicken in the sandwich didn't even cover the bun so you wouldn't get chicken with every bite anyway. My husbands fries were seasoned but mine were not. Also i don't like ketchup and wanted ranch for my fries but due to our waitress being with her family my fries were cold by the time i got it. My husbands au jus had floaters of some sort. Some sort of mystery sauce came with his meal too and after numerous attempts at figuring it out we have no idea what it was. The plastic plates cheapen the look but mainly if you try to use your silverware to cut something the plastic plates slide away because they are so light weight. The atmosphere visually was nice and other things on the menu did look and smell good but unfortunately our first trip there was so frustrating i wouldn't risk it again. I hate to be rude about the waitress as she was nice but I'm thinking family visits should be for when she isn't working so she can focus on her job. I ordered the 4-piece fried chicken with Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and cornbread. The chicken is HUGE! It's a little salty, but not to the point of being inedible. The Mac and cheese was delicious! Unfortunately, instead of mashed potatoes they brought me fries. I only ate one, it seemed okay, just not a big fry guy.
