One star is literally more than they deserve. I have been shopping around for A/C parts repairs since I moved into a home that has an HVAC system but it needed parts to be repaired. I had Alex call me back for an estimate over the phone. He asked me what other people were charging and what was the cheapest estimate we received. I had told him that we got a quote of $3300 from another company and he was EXTREMELY rude about it. He said, "Hell no, that's ridiculous! I would at least charge $3800!! I DON'T BELIEVE THAT! You're not telling me the truth!" I was shocked. I simply answered his questions and he started raising his voice calling me a liar. I told him, "That's fine if you don't believe me. I have the paperwork that I was given to prove it." And he just kept on badgering me in the most condescending tone. He was all "Let me tell you how this works.. since you obviously don't know how pricing works". At this point, I was livid but calm. I just told him that I needed to know his quote, at which he ignored me and kept going off about how it's IMPOSSIBLE that anyone would quote me that price. To which he ended with saying loudly "Well if that's the price they gave you, then you should just go with them!". So I said, "I just might" and hung up on him while he was continuing to talk down to me. Twenty minutes later, he called back and I thought it was to apologize for his rude, condescending tone and attitude, but instead when I answered, he just continued talking like I never hung up. I can NOT believe how incredibly rude he was. I called Airmaxx back to complain but the lady on the phone was so confused as to what I was trying to say, so I would have to try to contact the superiors directly. But for now, this is the only way I can share the horrible service I received from Alex. A lot of other people seemed to have satisfactory service from him, so maybe he was just having a REALLY bad day and decided to take it out on me, but that is NOT how you talk to any customer, regardless of how bad your day is going. Shame on him! I will never do business with Airmaxx again and I will let all my friends and family know as well. read more

My heat stopped working after I installed a new thermostat last night. I asked for a quote from another Yelp vendor and Val from Airmaxx responded first thing this morning. In my Yelp submission I had stated exactly what was wrong, and even included a photo of the old wiring before I changed the thermostat and a photo of the way I wired the new thermostat. When I asked the cost of a house call, I was told $79.95 which was fine with me because my American Home Shield home warranty charges $85. I spoke with Val on the phone, and he told me I probably blew the furnace fuse in the during the install and the total cost should not exceed the initial estimate. I took this to mean the cost of the fuse was included. Val arrived promptly a few hours later. He looked and found that, sure enough, the fuse was blown. What I'm guessing he didn't anticipate was that I had put my old thermostat back during my troubleshooting attempts and I would ask him to hook up the new thermostat and mount it to the wall. He told me they charge $99 to install a thermostat, am I okay with that? I said, "I thought you said it would be $80." OK, whatever. Fair enough. I have no complaint with the quality of the work or the service and courtesy I received. What I didn't like is that when getting back in his van to leave Val told me was charging me an extra $25 to replace the fuse. Had it been some specialized fuse I would have had to drive to Home Depot to purchase, I would not be writing this review. However, the fuse turned out to be a 10-cent automotive fuse on the control board that literally took 5 seconds to replace. I have ten of them in my toolbox. This I thought was a little bit unfair. Even though it ended up costing me $39 more than if I had called AHS, in the end it was still worth it. I don't know about you, but I hate being cold! UPDATE: Alex, the owner of the company, called me, apologized for the misunderstanding, and offered to refund the $25 charge for the fuse. That shows integrity and earns my continued business. Our HVAC system was the original one that came with our home and was 35 years old. We decided it was time to replace it before it died in the middle of a heat wave. We went online and after doing considerable searching and comparing we decided to have AirMax Heating and Air Conditioning install a new HVAC system and remove our old one. This was mostly based on the many, many positive reviews praising AirMax. We met with the AirMax representative Alex in our home and he evaluated our current system and asked what our opinion was of how the current system had worked for us. We explained the areas of our home that didn't cool well in the summer nor heat well in the winter. He then sat down and explained in detail what, in his opinion, was required to both heat and cool our home in an efficient manner that reached all areas of our home equally well. His explanations were clear and direct and he was very friendly, professional, and we believe honest in what he presented. We agreed with Alex that a three zone dual fuel heat pump install would be best. He laid out the cost, involved, the time line for getting it done and the amount of time the install would take. It took the large crew that came to do the install only a day and a half to remove all of the old system, including the ducting and then install the new HVAC system including all new ducting, some additional vents, install the new furnace and fan motor in the attic and place three thermostats, one to control each zone. They did a great job of keeping our home clean and putting down canvas tarps to cover the floor. We have now been through a week and half of 90°plus weather and the HVAC system is working flawlessly. All areas of our home are comfortable for the first time in the 30 years we have lived in it. In addition, the new system is so much quieter than the old one. We give our highest praise to Alex and the AirMax team who installed our HVAC system. AirMax could not have a more satisfied customer. read more

AirMaxx: To start the service was good, I'm writing to critique the cost of service that AirMaxx charges while on site. First the service was 40 dollars for AC and a Furnace service, 80 dollars total. I could complain about this because it should have been just 40 dollars. I could have had them come out over 2 days, 40 dollars each day, for each service, causing more wear and tear on their vehicles and man hours. But I digress. My main complaint, I needed two capacitor's to be replaced (battery's), one for the AC unit and one for the furnace. This would have cost me a total nearing $300 dollars for $40 dollars worth of product. Does a $260 dollar repair fee sound reasonable to you? Thank goodness they were an easy fix for me, but maybe not for others (elderly). Literally took me 10 minutes between both fixes, less if Airmaxx tech would have done it. Finally they wanted $225 dollar to replace a condenser contactor, $20 dollars on amazon. A $205 repair cost for a 5 min fix. I had them do it only due to the 4-5 wire connectors involved thought it was a more complicated fix. Found out later its not, but didn't have time to research it until after he left. Upset that I paid 225 dollars for this. Disappointed in AirMaxx's price gouging scheme. This would have cost me $475 dollars for a 30-45 minute service call on 60-70 dollars worth of parts, not including the $80 service call. If they told me 70 dollars for the parts and 50-100 dollars to do the repair/replacement service, maybe I would have been more inclined to have it done. Airmaxx you need to reassess your customer service policy, its criminal for what you try and charge your customers. Let me preface this, many company's do this across the board not just AirMaxx and as consumers we need to speak up more. AirMaxx was the straw that broke the camels back. read more

100% thrilled with Airmaxx who installed new HVAC in my home. My wife and I could not be happier with the price, equipment, installation and company. I really do my due diligence and met with 9 contractors before choosing Airmaxx. I went with them because they made me feel the most comfortable, had the best yelp reviews, really, seemed to care and enjoy their work and they were by far the most knowledgeable people. Gene, my sales guy, was a former installer so he knew what he was talking about and never spoke down to me but answered all my questions honestly and candidly and even showed up for a few hours on both days of the install to make sure everything was progressing perfectly, Wow!!! I really appreciated that Gene wasn't pushy/sales guy but that he did follow up with me just to see if I had any additional questions a few days after our visit. It's amazing how only one of the other potential contractors even had the sense to do that. I mean if that is not a clue of how someone value's a potential customer, I don't know what is. The install went perfectly, Eugene and his team of 3 guys spent 2 days on the install and it's like they were never here. They were all incredibly professional, clean and hard working. Absolute gentleman in every way. I had to force one particularly nice man from removing his shoes each time he came into the house which made no difference because they had already put tarps down everywhere. I can't say enough about this organization it's just so nice to deal with a company/people who are completely focused on doing a great job and giving you what you pay for. We wanted to have air conditioning unit added to our existing central heating system/furnace in April. After searching, interviewing, getting quotes from 5 other companies and comparing, we chose Airmaxx. They were not the least expensive, but close, and equipment brand, warranty, made the difference. And staff. GENE who did the initial intake/assessment was quite knowledgeable, thorough, and answered all questions without missing a beat. He was honest and objective and told us pros and cons of replacing the furnace also which we did for size of our space and efficiency--Gene broke it down with savings monthly on power bill and rebates it was the way to go. He gave us quotes for both options also. Gene gave us a choice when to have it done--the next week--and the team came in, worked steadily all day, finished and cleaned up and removed everything very nicely! We decided to move the thermostat to the hallway after the fact, and it was not working. My husband had wired it correctly it turns out, but it seemed it was not accurate and could have cost a lot of money in utility bills. ART, from Airmaxx came out today to take a look at it. He figured out the problem in a matter of minutes, a simple fix (if you know air conditioning and heating) after examining the system and did what was needed to remedy the situation. We were lucky to get these guys as they sold us on Airmaxx. If you want guys that are very skilled, patient, honest, objective and pleasant (nice extra), without any pressure, then these are your guys. Had a/c go out on the first day of our last 100+ heat wave. Called several local repair companies, only Airmaxx agreed to come out that day. Art (Project Mgr) quickly identified the problem and offered the most immediate and inexpensive fix to get my a/c instantly back online. A week later it stopped working. Again, Art came out same day and as I suspected, he confirmed a/c was simply worn out after 18-years of service. Looking at Yelp reviews, I got 3 estimates for a complete HVAC system to be installed in the attic. Of the 2 companies that wouldnt come out on short notice for repair, 1 had slightly higher price, 1 was WAY higher. Art had encouraged me to get other estimates after he gave me his, saying he was confident in Airmaxx pricing. Gave the job to Airmaxx. This was major expense of many thousands of dollars. Airmaxx surpassed my expectations in promptness, complete removal of my old system, how they went out of their way to not make a mess in my house, the well organized effort of the install team, and the most impressive quality in the design/build of the new system. I hated to part with thousands of dollars for unplanned house repairs, but the work Airmaxx did was definitely an investment that will -easily- pay for itself if I ever sell, and with lower energy bills until then. I cannot thank this company enough for all of their help and advice. I contacted Airmaxx on a weekend late afternoon after having tried to reach the original installer of our central HVAC without any luck (weekends aren't the best time for stuff to happen), and within 5 minutes Alex from Airmaxx called and spent considerable time trying to pin down the odd problem I was having with a 5 year old HVAC - it seemed the blower fan in the air handler, located in the attic, would not shut off as usual after the cooling temperature had been reached. After determining that I had a weird problem but not a serious one, Alex had his dispatcher send out an experienced installer within a day. Within 5 minutes, this obviously knowledgeable man had diagnosed the problem, fixed it and another glitch (thermostat) in the next 10 minutes, and then did a quick check of the entire system before leaving. Every contact with Airmaxx staff along the line was courteous and professional. Since no new parts were involved, I was told I owed nothing. This in itself is amazing, but what I really wish to emphasize is the positive nature of every interaction along every step of the way with every person I contacted at Airmaxx. My husband and I will be calling Airmaxx from now on whenever we have any HVAC issues. It's a relief to know that such a great company and such wonderful people are there when you need them. read more

You can tell a lot about the quality and morality of a company when they ensure that you get service by a competitor of theirs. Mike Ball from Airmaxx is awesome. I had a Carrier Infinity Heat Pump system with Air Purifier installed 2 1/2 years ago by a different company. Every 6 months I dutifully call them to change the air filters to keep the system in good shape and comply with warranty requirements. When it was time I called that company 3 times over 2 weeks and was only able to leave a message with an answering service with no calls back. Despite telling them I had called before and paid for a maintenance plan. When I gave up on them I called Airmaxx as an authorized service provider for Carrier. Mike came to my house on time and told me that I should have the company that installed it do the service as it would void that companies 10 year warranty if another company opened the system. I told him of my difficulty getting a response. He got on the phone and was relentless in getting them to set up an appointment to come out and service the equipment. I told him I would pay him for his efforts. He told me they did not charge for diagnostics. I told him he and Airmaxx were top of the list for when my warranty is up and if anyone asks for a recommendation. Now I have an appointment with the original installer for next week. I am keeping my fingers crossed they keep their word. read more

We would like to share our experience with the Airmaxx team. We decided to have our 15-year-old HVAC system replaced due to having some issues. After some research and conversations with HVAC companies, we choose Airmaxx to install a new Carrier HVAC system. Gene was our main contact from Airmaxx. He took care of providing the estimate and scheduling the installation date. In addition, Gene was also present on the day of the installation to talk with his crew and to make sure the new HVAC equipment was delivered to start the job. Gene, Slava and Vadim came to install the new Carrier HVAC system. They did an awesome job that included making everything they installed, from the Carrier Condenser on the outside of the house, to the Carrier Furnace in the garage, which resulted in a nice clean and organized look after the installation was completed. They were also very conscientious in following COVID-19 guidelines to ensure our safety as well as their own. I have to say, it was extremely easy to work with Gene from our first contact thru the installation of our new Carrier HVAC system. Anytime I called or texted Gene with questions, he always responded in a timely manner. Gene made everything so easy and effortless. We want to say thank you to, Gene, Slava, Vadim, Lissa, and Ivy for providing us with awesome customer service!!! The Airmaxx team will be our "go to" HVAC team. read more

I wasn't going to write a review, but then our AC WASN'T WORKING after only using it 8 times. Why a 5-star review for a broken AC? Well, the AC stopped around 3 or 4pm - TODAY. When I got home it was 96 degrees outside and only about 10 degrees cooler in the house. The thermostat seemed fully functional, I checked the circuit breaker... nothing. I was hot, and GRUMPY. It didn't appear to be something simple, so called the manager, Alex, who has helped us from the beginning. He called back within 15 min. We scheduled for someone to come out tomorrow. 15 minutes later he called, asked if I was home, and showed up at my door within 10 minutes with a ladder & his toolbox. He figured out what the problem was within another 15 min - a chewed wire outside of house caused short which blew a fuse - he then fixed it in record time. I cannot believe such service. This kind of service just doesn't exist these days. There was no charge either. Maybe because we're within a certain period of time after installation, but WOW, I like this guy! So FIVE STARS because a mouse chewing the wire had nothing to do with the AC, but most certainly highlighted the exceptional pride that Alex - who's been with AirMaxx for MANY years - takes in his work, and a company that hires and keeps such great people and delivers exceptional service deserves all five of those stars.
