Air Maxx did a fantastic job. I had an OLD wall heater - from the 60s - that finally went kaput. I did a Yelp blast and got bids from many contractors. Air Maxx was by far the most reasonable. One company gave a bid almost 3 times as much as the bid from Air Maxx. So it DEFINITELY is worth getting several bids before choosing a company. His professional trade appearance and demeanor proved to carry through to his job knowledge and experience. Our heater stopped working in the house and has been freezing so it was super important to find someone who can come ASAP to help us fix this problem. I called around four different places and everyone was telling me The soonest opening would be four days from now and they would charge us at least $49 to come take a look at the problem. When I called Airmaxx they offered to come out within two hours what's a free quote/inspection. Once Edgar smart arrived he found the problem within five minutes and had it fixed and done within 20 minutes. I found out he's an engineer. I had Airmaxx install a "mini-split" HVAC unit in the 2 car garage under our casita for a music studio last week. I selected Airmaxx after a couple of bids; they were $1700 less expensive than two other well advertised HVAC companies. The installation took about 6 hours and both technicians were courteous and professional. When they left, there was no mess and they had walked me through how to use the system. It was so refreshing to NOT feel "sold" or pressured into a larger than needed system. The quality of the install was impeccable. The service was professional, thorough, and accommodating too. As for the value, Airmaxx wasn't the cheapest, but they were the best value when all components are considered (install, returns, vents, and ducting). I had an amazing experience with Alex G today. I left a message for a quote via Yelp, and no joke, he responded within 15 minutes! He happened to be in the area and met me less than 30 minutes later, what luck! Alex was professional, friendly, and very helpful. He fixed my furnace problem and did a great job of troubleshooting the issue. I've seen other HVAC folks just diagnose an issue without doing any diagnostics, but Alex performed the diagnostics with me and taught me what he was looking for. I appreciated his honesty and hardworking attitude. Our furnace stopped working last night. So, I called a very large HVAC company here in San Diego the next morning. I was told it would be $65 to diag the issue and they wouldn't be able to come out until the next day. Not good! I started searching around and found Airmaxx here on Yelp. So glad I did! I got an appointment window within an hour of my call and had Edgar from Airmaxx at my door less than 2 hours later. Airmaxx installed my AC about ten years ago. At the time they were one of the lower bids to install. Not the cheapest but close. They were professional and quick and did what they said. This review is a comment on the repairs and maintenance that they have done on my AC since that time. It's never cost more than $200, they are always quick and very courteous. I asked Alex to come out and give me a quote on a new HVAC system. My existing AC stoped working in August. I was told by some other HVAC company who inspected it that the condenser was grounded (aka dead). Alex was very thorough in his review of my requirements and gave me several options. After quoting a new system, I asked if the failed condenser could just be replaced. He said he'd take a look at it and 30-40 minutes later he had my old unit up and running good as new. Okay well not new, it is 20 years old after all, but now it's working again. So for the $120 service charge, I was back in business. Sure Alex could have gone for the big sale telling me my system was dead too, but he did the right thing and fixed it. Which saved me a lot of time and money. My husband and I found it time to change out our HVAC. With the efficiency and the rebate offered in February we decided to switch over to a heat pump system. We reviewed two companies (one we'd been with for 17 years, and Airmaxx). Alex Glozman of Airmaxx, Inc. came out to asses our home and ducting. On his initial inspection he found our ducting was in need of replacement and suggested a zoned system. For the zoned system he proposed a 3 ton Bosch Heat Pump, which we were pretty nervous about since our old unit was a 4 ton (servicing approximately 2200 sq. ft.). This inevitability left us with a lot of questions regarding the system itself and zoning. Alex was wonderful, incredibly patient with us and answered all of our questions. What Alex proposed made complete sense, so we pulled the trigger. We went with 2 zones (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs). We are so happy with our new system (Carrier furnace Bosch heat pump); it's quiet, it heats up our home like never before and the new Ecobee thermostats are fabulous! We're looking forward to enjoying the cooling just as much this summer! The crew that did the new ductwork/installation were amazing! They were knowledgeable, respectful, efficient, clean and kind. Thank God for Airmaxx. Sam came as scheduled. Saved us more than $4,400. Looked at a parts list deemed necessary by a different company. He told me why each was not necessary then took me to the AC units and showed me the readings on his meter to prove it. And he corrected a problem the other guy had missed. All for nothing but the cost of an inspection. I will definitely work with this company in the future! Our 20+ yr old heater quit working and we needed to have it fixed right away as the nights have been cold. I checked Yelp and found Airmaxx as one of the highest rated in the area. I called at around 9am and got an appointment for a technician between 11am and 1pm. Their tech, Alejandro came at around 11:15am and asked a few questions regarding the problem. He checked the heater and determined the problem in 2 minutes. He replaced the part for a reasonable price, tested the system and the heater worked again. Alejandro was very professional, making sure that he put on shoe protection and was very careful going up the attic as access to the attic was in the closet. He also replaced the attic access cover in its proper position when he was done. Our heater may be on its last legs. I initially had a very negative experience with two office staff members. I wrote about it here and that evening the owner Alex read my review and personally called me extremely concerned about what had happened. He listened to what I had to say and fully understood why I was upset. He talked to his staff, so the issue shouldn't happen again and he offered a good rate for installing a new wall heater in my home to make up for the inconvenience. To be fair to him, I deleted my review after he clearly showed that he cares a lot about his customers. Two of his installation staff came out, did the install in a short amount of time and everything is done very professionally. I'm very happy with the work they did. The install required a tad bit more work than the original estimate and he graciously comp'd me on that as well. I wish it had been easier in the beginning, but at the end of the day, they are a solid local business. Everyone has a bad day and we should give them the chance to make up for it. Today I had a routine inspection of our A/C and heater by Alex. He was professional and knowledgeable. I had seen mosquitoes near the bottom of my A/C condenser on my back deck and thought there might be a problem with water that I assumed was dripping down and collecting below it somewhere. Alex politely informed me that the condenser I have doesn't drip water. The water drips only from the unit ("evaporator") in the garage. I hadn't done my homework. Alex suggested other areas around the deck I might look for collecting water. I really like AirMaxx, starting from the time three years ago when they sold us a new Courier system. Professional and trustworthy business. Our Google Nest thermostat was giving us E73 error code. After looking it up, seems that the RC wire isn't getting any power. I called Airmaxx and explained this. Ideally, I would've liked to know if they know about this general issue. But understandably, they said they need to see it and diagnose. The great part is they do not charge a straight-up service call fee, meaning they don't charge you just to come out and take a look. I have called 3 other HVAC places around the area servicing Poway, and they all charge a service call fee just to come out and take a look, ranging from $69 to $99. I called at 10am and they said they would have availability between 12-3pm. Vladimir called at 11:30am and told me he would be there within 15 minutes. When he arrived, he was professional. He diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and tested both AC and heating functions of the unit to ensure functionality. He even took the time to show and explain the workings of the unit so that we understand it better. He explained because it was a minor issue, the charge would be a service call fee of $50. Because initially I wasn't sure if this issue was an HVAC problem or an electrician problem, I asked if he came and determined that this was an electrician issue, would I still need to pay the service call fee. He said no, because no service would have been done. From the customer service rep to Vladimir, I trust this business and will be calling Airmaxx for any future HVAC issues! read more

Excellent service by Airmaxx and particularly by Gilbert Cortez. Gilbert is a true professional who really knows his job. Gilbert showed me his diagnostics - bluetooth connected to his phone and instantly readable - on my two AC units and was able to repair them both in less than an hour. He was fast and thorough and extremely competent. Bad capacitor was culprit in each case. R-22 coolant still at good levels in both 18 year old units. Also quite impressed with Gilbert's and Airmaxx's speed and scheduling - it was the middle of a big end of summer heat wave and, after I contacted Airmaxx on Monday morning, Airmaxx was able to have Giblert to our house on Tuesday afternoon. They laid down covers on our stairway and hallways and were extremely respectful of the interior of our home. Install of our system took about 6 hours with a team of 4.
