Stay away from these guys or at the very least get multiple quotes. I called trying to get an estimate to replace a boiler when it suddenly died and we had no hot water (and a small child). Talked to Jim and he was nice at first until he was supposed to come for the quote and something I said made him thinking I was getting the job quotted by more than one person. I wasn't getting multiple quotes, in fact I was having a hard time finding anyone who actually dealt with boilers. He specifically said he wasn't interested in coming to give a quote if others were involved and when I tried to tell there weren't any others he basically hung up on me. Called him back immediately 2x and left messages with 0 response. Completely unprofessional. If I was actually bidding the job out (which I wasn't) only someone with something to hide would be that concerned so be wary of any quote you get from these guys. Arrived home tonight to find our AC not working and a blank screen on the thermostat. We called another HVAC place first and got sent to an answer service... So we moved on to Leipart. Our furnace was acting up a few weeks before I was due with our second child. It was the first cold spell of the season, so Jim was super busy, but he made sure to get to us as quick as he could. Just had this company come out for a clean and check. I have to admit I'm very impressed. They checked everything in the furnace then explained why certain things had to be looked at. Since calling for the appointment to when they left my home, they have been very honest. I'm so happy that I went onto yelp and found this company. I didn't notice that the temperature in my house was dropping until my dog started barking and acting weird. I went to check the thermast and increased the temperature just to see if the furnace would kick on but it didnt. Then I got nervous... only a few days from Christmas and money was low. I had Leipart out a couple months ago, but I'm just finally finding some time to get my review in. It was your typical "It's the hottest day of the summer and of course my air would go out today" situation. I called a few different companies and Leipart was the only one that (a) answered the phone and (b) could get someone out in a couple of hours. The guys came out as well as the owner as he happened to be in the area. They were able to diagnose and show me the issue with the system very quickly. They attempted to repair the damage but were very thorough in the explanation as to why the unit could not be salvaged and even took photos of the damage for training purposes...again they were very thorough with everything. Once the unit was replaced, they walked me through a few things with in and even came inside to measure the air coming out of the vents to ensure everything was working properly. Man I love yelp! Once again I found this place on yelp after my central air unit stopped working. And I tried to schedule a time after work to have them come out. They couldn't guarantee me the time I wanted, which I understood but they did say they would definitely be out to look at my unit that day. When they arrived it was the owner with a couple trainees. Luckily it was only a part that was broken and needed to be replaced. And Jim had it repaired in no time. Call and use these guys if you want an honest assessment of what needs to be done and quality work at a reasonable price. Brent was the technician who came to our house just a few minutes after 9 when I was given a 2 hour window of 9-11 (Thanks!). He explained each step he was taking to troubleshoot the problem in addition to explaining how each part works and why it may be the root cause. It turned out to be a minor issue that he was able to correct and explained how to prevent it going forward. He was honest and came off more interested in correcting the problem vs trying to gouge me with parts/services I didn't need. Once he had determined what needed to be done, I knew from a previous vendor (name withheld) that my other furnace required work which cost me ~$900 and refrained from doing because I didn't trust them and the part hadn't failed yet. I had Brent take a look at it and not only was he able to fix it within the hour (last vendor it took 2 days), it was considerably less than the previous vendor who I had felt took advantage of the situation I was in at the time. He also helped troubleshoot some issues I had with my humidifiers and got both of them up and running again for me. We got home and found a significant amount of water on our basement floor. At 10:30PM we called hoping to leave a message to arrange service for the next day. However, no message was needed. Jim answered the phone! Jim gave my husband a few things to try to fix the problem but they didn't work. So we called him back. He wanted to come out that very night because he didn't want us to be without AC due to the extreme heat! How's that for service!? He and a tech arrived at our house around 12:30AM and had our AC in working order at 2:00AM for a reasonable rate. I want to give them 5 stars for not leaving me in a bad situation, when it was hard to find the right team to fix a problem. The problem is that I have a perfectly working equipment that was not properly installed, and is in needed of being re-installed. When other companies presented me with a single option of completely replacing the unit, which is very costly, Leipart Heating and Cooling helped me by steering me in the right direction. They were really dedicated and spent some time to find the best solution. Per their advise I contacted the manufacturer, who gave me contacts of contractors servicing that particular unit in order to re-install it. I am working with them now. Great experience. Our air conditioner went out, 95 degree day, late in the day on Saturday. Jim the owner, picked up the phone, when I described the problem, he said he may have a tech in the area to stop by. Called me back, said his tech was already on the way to another customer, but said that he would be out personally to repair. I wish I could give them 100 stars!!! Jim and company just saved us well over $5,000 by HONESTLY diagnosing an issue with our central A/C on a home we recently purchased. On the recommendation of a neighbor, we had another company out in the midst of a heatwave and they said our unit was completely shot and that we needed a brand new $5,000 condenser. We almost made a hasty decision because it was nearly 90 degrees upstairs in the house. Thankfully we decided to get a second opinion from Leipart Heating and Cooling. Jim and company came out and had us up and running in about 45 minutes by fixing a shoddy wiring job that the previous homeowner did. They also replaced a fuse that was the wrong kind. He also clued us in that the premium air filter we had in was actually damaging the system more than it helped. Finally, we were having a minor drainage issue and rather than charge us to fix it, he explained how we could very easily do it ourselves. I can't say enough good things about our experience. I clearly have bad luck... as a homeowner for a little over a year, it has become pretty obvious to me that I should have invested in new homeowner insurance. First my a/c went, the next week my refrigerator, and of course during the first snowfall of 2015 my furnace decides to die. When I left for the gym on Saturday it was a warm 69 degrees in my house, two hours later, I arrived home to a chilly 63 degrees. I head over to the thermostat to turn up the heat because clearly that is the problem... but when it didn't kick on I knew I was in trouble. So at 5:45 on a Saturday night, I got on Yelp to see who could fix my furnace and do it quickly! I came upon CJ Heating & A/C Repair who claimed to be a 24hr business, so I made the call. I was actually shocked that a gentleman answered and promptly scheduled a time to come out and look at my problem yet that night. At around 9:15pm Dave arrived and saved the day. Dave, who is the most over educated repair person I have ever met, located the problem, my M igniter, in about 2min. He had the part on his truck and was able to make the swap out quickly. In less than 35min, I had heat again and was able to enjoy the rest of the night. These guys are legit. They really are a 24hr business and will respond to the call as promptly as possible. My husband and I had been looking to replace our old AC and furnace for a couple of years now. Since the units were still both operational, we had the time to scrutinize over several companies. We met with a lot of people and received several price quotes . I had such a good experience with this company, I just wanted to write a review because I know how hard it is to find a contractor you can trust these days. And reading Yelp helped us. This spring we called Leipart H&C. I left a message, and Jim called me back a few minutes later. He came out that day and my husband and I explained what we needed done. He gave us several options and a very competitive price quote. Like so many of us nowadays, we are on a budget and wanted to get the most for our dollar. But, I also know that you could spend a lot of money on name brands and it won't mean a thing, unless you have quality technicians installing the equipment. Jim and his team , Brent and Bryant (spelling?) came to our house on time, 9 am. They were very courteous, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. If my husband and I had questions , they were happy to explain what they were doing and why. I asked them when they were going to stop and eat, all three said the same thing, "When the job is done". They left our house quite late that day. They put in a new AC, furnace, replaced duct work, configure new duct work, vacuumed and cleaned all duct work, fixed a leaking sum pump, installed an Aprilaire 5000 and a smart thermostat . We are so happy with everything (esp. my husband who now loves to control the new thermostat with his phone). It was a pleasure meeting Jim and his team. This company was recommended to me via my homeowner's Facebook group page. I had a 22-year-old (still operational) sump pump replaced, which they told me should be in the Smithsonian. I think it may have been the oldest working unit they'd seen. But make no mistake, it was disintegrating and I was super lucky not to have it fail before I got it replaced. The guys did a phenomenal job of explaining things to me and the job was done in under 45 minutes. This company will be my go-to plumbers from now on. A surprisingly great experience. We just moved in and learned that every time the ac kicked on it was spraying water to the point that our basement had an in or 2 of standing water in the surrounding area. Being new homeowners we did not know if sump pump or water heater were also problematic. Instead of taking me for a ride and suggesting I replace it all, he explained that both were older but very much in working order and no need to worry about them yet. The ac turned out to be a blockage in the pvc pipe and was an easy fix that didn't end up costing me a fortune. He also schooled me on where filter should be inserted and what size to purchase. He checked out the rest of unit and added coolant all for reasonable price as well. Will use this company again and again due to the up front honesty and friendly personality of the owner. Our furnace blower motor started going out on a Saturday night and started producing a horrible smell. My husband and I panicked because we thought it could have been something dangerous. Luckily we found C&J on Yelp and Jim was able to come out in a half hour. He wasn't able to pinpoint the problem that night, because of course it was working fine when he got here. A couple days later it finally stopped working, and he again made it out right away. Due to the age of our furnace we opted to just replaced it. Although it sucked to have to drop so my money on a new unit, it's really been a huge upgrade for us. The temperate in our two level townhouse has been much more comfortable, as the first level is no longer freezing, and the second level is no longer terribly hot. Hate to do this, because I originally thought highly of C&J. The first time we called was late Sunday night. We had a sewage backup and didn't know what was wrong and needed someone to come asap. He was great and worked to clear what he though was probably a clog. He knocked $100 off our final bill just because he's a nice guy... Here's my problem. We had another sewage back up a few months later and I immediately called, no answer, so I left a message. Called again later, again no answer. I never got a call back either. We ended up getting the city to come use a camera and were informed the C&J didn't do anything correct! They used an incorrect access point AND weren't even in our sewage line!! They had been running their lines through a rain water run off. So basically we wasted money for nothing. The city recommend we use R&R so we did. R&R came out and did an excellent job, accessed the correct pipes into our sewage drains and cleared us for half of what C&J charged. read more
