Finally got my hands on the facial serum that was sold out for years!!!!! I've been using the face care line for 10 years now. I stop for sometime and used other brands. But after my facial from HI SKIN. it reminded me of how flawless my skin was when I was using Aisha's skin care products like their 24 kart gold wash & moisturizer. Fruit toner and now the sold out 24 kart serum. I love that these products are package in glassware and are priced at a more economical cost. My skin has always loved it. The very first facial I ever received from the Tuckerton location in town Lake at face-to-face, that aesthetician complimented my skin tremendously. At that time, I was only using Aisha's skin care. Two stars because my eyebrows did look good afterwards. I'd never been to this location before but I was running errands in the area. The customer service was terrible, especially in regards to tips. The lady in the front wanted cash tips. Ok cool, but that isn't listed anywhere on the outside or on their website, and I never carry cash. I told her that. She then insisted on Venmo or Paypal, and I refused. She begrudgingly allowed me to tip on my card, and at this point, the only reason I did tip is because she was not the one who did my brows. Price for eyebrow threading is now $10. Service has really gone downhill. I use to like coming here but since pandemic their service has really gone downhill. I, a woman of color, came in and was told to sit in waiting area as all booths were in use. A white female customer came in after and was told the same but she kept walking around the booths just pacing. A third customer also came in and sat in waiting area--a very young Indian woman. When the first booth freed up, I was ignored and priority was given to the white female no hesitation whatsoever so ever. Macy W pointed out a similar treatment recently in Yelp reviews for this same establishment. I guess there's a trend here now. I'm also frustrated that every time I came in I would be told I should not pluck a spot on my eyebrow. Umm I don't pluck my eyebrows that's why I come and get them threaded. That bald-ish spot is just my eyebrow area that doesn't grow much hair. I ask them to clean up my eyebrows but they leave so many stragglers so I have to tell them to thread or tweeze areas. Brows are great here... Wax, not so much. I typically wax the 'stache because threading it gets painful. However, I will cease to wax here which probably means I will cease coming all together because I do it together. She burned my face. This will be here for a while because it takes a while for a scar to fade despite the fact that I've been putting Neosporin on it daily. I don't like that she was trying to blow the wax too .... You're supposed to spin the stick to cool it not chance getting your saliva on the wax. I come here because it's close to my office. Looks like I'll go back to the ones closer to my house. read more

I come here all the time - spend my money & support every other week but I will no longer come back to this location.. it's been going downhill on the service. They have no desire to please customers - they don't sanitize between customers you have to ask and when you do it's an attitude. I used to love getting my eyebrows done here, but I've noticed the past two times that I've been left with scratches from the thread. I've had this experience now with two different people - two people that I've gone to previously before without any issues. I'm not sure if they've changed the quality of the thread they're using recently or are using different techniques, because I've been going here for over a year without any issues until recently. I noticed that other people are having the same issue. This is something that really needs to be fixed, because I now have a scar from when I went in May and now I'm wondering if I'm going to have additional scars after my appointment yesterday. read more

Here's my true Houston Hood Story: I went there cuz I messed up and switched my days going to my original hair person. So I was a walk in. Anyways Chile, they asked me all about my hair like I was in Korea...so many questions and talking in a different language about it, while all up in my hair strands. Then I finally said, you ain't gotta be scared. So one lady said she would do it after one said she would not do it. So this lady did my hair. When I was done & paying, the "other lady" want to didn't want to do my hair, walked up to her and started telling her to give me all types of up charges. But I was like, when y'all was all up in my hair strands y'all said $45. They agreed and the cashier "made sure" I tipped. I thought maybe I would return since the lady did a okay job(maybe like a backup). But she said no my dear, you have to ask for Bonnie. She does the hair...and so does the other lady....and she pointed to the lady who said she couldn't do my hair & tried to insinuate upcharges. In fact, that same lady was taking her time eating while these poor women were just waiting for her. Anyway, turns out, the lady who did my hair only does eyebrows and never did hair before. So I gave this place another shot, and I unfortunately had the same experience as before. Rané at station #4 shaped my brows. Language was a bit of a barrier as I could only understand about 80% of the things she was saying. At one point, I thought she asked me if I was African. When I first sat down, she asked, "Straight, right?" I told her I wanted them arched. She then said I would have to get them straight because I have a scar above my right eyebrow. No, Rané. I've had that scar since I was 3, and I've gotten my eyebrows arched since I was in high school with absolutely no issues at all. She started to shape them, and I had to have her re-do the first one four times and the second eyebrow 3x. She used the tweezers to help achieve the shape, which is fine, but she was moving so fast that she was actually pinching my skin. It got a little tiresome to keep having her "fix" them so I just told her nevermind. I don't think I will be visiting this location again. read more

I've been coming here for awhile to get my eyebrows done. It costs $8 and I give a $2 tip. The people are friendly and efficient. I've never had to wait for more than 10 minutes. I don't have a set person I go to here because they are all great at what they do! This place is offered exclusively for women so they do a great job at catering to our needs. They also offer other services as well such as manicure, pedicure, facials, haircuts, etc. If you want a quick touch up on something, this is the place to go! read more

Also tried Kishwar, she's super friendly and gets the job done. I did lip and brows with Mary and she was decent. Gave multiple chances, and quality and service continues to decline. Last time, the lady that did my brows cut my eyelid badly. Literally drew blood. I gave another chance and today, the lady that did my brows threaded off a whole chunk leaving my left brow arch bald and nonexistent. She took 3 minutes to do my brows, obviously rushing to get to the next client. I told her I was unhappy and she replied "I did my job. I'm satisfied with them." I've been coming to this Aisha's salon location for about 2 years now and I've tried many others around the Houston are but this one is by far the best one out here. They are professional and kind. The ladies here will listen to what you want done and always deliver. I've tried a few of the services here and I've never been disappointed. Rahila is the manager and she's the one I go to for my eyebrows. She IS AMAZING!! They are a ladies only salons and the place is always clean relaxing. The atmosphere is peaceful. I purchased a groupon for a Brazilian wax. I've had several waxes done before but I have NEVER had such a horrible experience like I did at Aishas. I arrived early for my appointment and the person who was going to do my wax was still with her other client doing a facial which was fine. However, when my appointment time arrived, I was still waiting for her. The receptionist must have reassured me a dozen times that she was almost done and "would be with me in five minutes". It was about 45 minutes later that one of the hair dressers approached her and asked what I needed done. Next thing you know, I was headed for my wax with someone other than who I was scheduled with. I should have known something was wrong when she handed me my robe and asked me to change WITH THE ROOM DOOR WIDE OPENED!! She could barely speak English and it was so hard to understand her but I do know she kept asking me if I wanted everything waxed- even after telling her that I was there for a Brazilian. She complained about Groupons, waxing and even showed me every strip after each pull saying "you see? You see?" It was just so awkward I had to tell her to stop!!! I went straight to the receptionist and complained about the whole freakish situation and that I needed to speak to a manager ASAP!! She apologized and told me the manager/owner was not there on the weekends but that she could give me a coupon for a free eyebrow threading session... I'd give one star for the hair/makeup job, but I've given two stars because the staff women are very nice. Despite what we showed/asked for, our hair and makeup turned us into clowns - so much that for the next hour we were stuck wiping product off of each others' faces. The hair wasn't as eccentric, but still not what was requested. I think this salon would be fine for your standard hairdos and what not, but considering the high price we paid, we were not at all satisfied with the outcome of our wedding party's hair and makeup. read more

I have to give Aisha's 3 stars - at least this location.... Can't speak for others. I read great reviews about the Hillcroft location, however, westheimer location was about 3 miles closer. During rush hour traffic, 3 miles can make a big difference! So I chose to go to the westheimer location instead (without reading reviews). I called to schedule an appointment for this evening & was told that they're open until 7 and I could just walk in.... Great! Convenient. I went in for an eyebrow thread & lip wax (I've tried lip threading at a different pale before... Very painful! So I usually do wax.) Service was okay.... Receptionist was nice. The lady who did my services was nice, but trying to push other services onto me (facials, body waxing, nails, etc.) My eyebrows turned out perfectly! Didn't take too much hair... Shaped perfectly. But then she started the lip wax..... I should've stopped her and asked about the wax when she started because it was a STICK of wax, and dried up & very sticky. I've been waxing for 10 years & I've never once seen that type of wax. But hey, every place is different so I just went with it... Bad idea. After several attempts to put the hard, dried up wax on my lip, she finally went and got a different "wax stick" but this time it was SCORCHING hot. I said "ouch" a few times hoping she would ask me what was wrong? Nope. Again... Should have told her to stop at that point. Got in my car a few minutes later to notice that she RIPPED off my skin on both sides of my upper lip. So now, I'm sitting at home with Aloe Vera and neosporin on my lip, hoping that it goes away in time for my work convention in 2 days. I would return to Aisha's for threading, however, I will NEVER get anything waxed there ever again. Ill probably try the Hillcroft location next time (the one with better reviews).... read more

I went in for an underarm wax during my lunch break as it is conveniently down the street from my office, and I was completely disappointed!! First off, she used the completely wrong size wax paper strips. They were too thin, practically for eyebrows. When she was applying the wax she was not even making sure to go in the direction of hair growth which is the correct thing to do. She was very all over the place and she would repeatedly put wax in places hair was missed which caused me major skin irritation! She was not able to get out all of my hair and was not even going to go over it with tweezers. I had to request her to do it and it was still not done up to par. She had no idea what she was doing. This was my first time visiting this Aisha's so I cannot compare any other employees or other services. read more

HORRIBLE! please avoid this place at any cost.  First and foremost,  for Waxing they do not have a basic hygiene/ clean dress to change into.  I went in for Waxing my hands and legs and the lady who did the Waxing did not even bother to ask if I wanted to change.. after I asked for changing dress,  she handed me over a very dirty used unwashed dress which was disgusting.  I told her that it was dirty and used and only then she cared to bring me another washed clean dress (I hope). For me hygiene is the MOST important in a salon and this salon is down right disappointment in that sense. Next comes my biggest nightmare - when I had facial Waxing done for me.  I specifically mentioned that my skin is very sensitive and requested to do with utmost care.  The whole time she waxed my face,  she was pulling it all the ways so hard and was applying hot wax on the same area more than once as if she was in a hurry to complete (while chatting constantly with her Co workers).  This place absolutely knows no proper technique for Waxing nor professional service. My face was burning the whole time and once it was done completely, I looked at the mirror for the shock of my life.  My face was completely torn near my cheeks both sides.   I was extremely disappointed.  I had to attend a wedding that week and now my face is completely ruined. The thing that infuriated me the most was they were so lethargic and casual about it after seeing what happened and not a bit apologetic. I will never ever ever go back to this place again.  Please stay away from this overly expensive for nothing salon of you care for yourself. read more

Finally, I have found a decent threading salon in Texas that isn't making me pay over $10 for a decent brow thread! I found this location to be well-located, clean, and the girls were really, really nice. My threader (I did not get her name sadly) was very sweet and constantly asked for my opinion throughout the process, which I LOVED. She even went so far as to sort of debate with me whether or not I wanted 2 small follicles threaded out, which showed me that she was CLEARLY paying attention to the details. I'll definitely be back here more often, as I've clearly been neglecting my precious brows for far too long! PS: They also seem to have a great Mani-Pedi deal that's $35, but it's only on Friday/Saturday per a sign in the door. Brow threads are $8, YAY! read more

I have been to many an Aisha's location. My personal favorite is actually in Sugar Land where I get "weed-whacked" by Ping, who does a perfectly precise and painless job. But since I work in the Galleria area, I've had to resort to the rather unkempt original Hillcroft location. (AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.) Imagine my surprise when I took a little trip over to my local Beck's Prime drive thru and stumbled upon this brand new gem! I made up my mind to visit them for a quick eyebrow fix and mustache removal during my lunch break today and couldn't believe my eyes. This place is unlike any other Aisha's location. Despite the strip mall setting, the inside looks like a fantastic upscale salon worthy of a Galleria area location. It turns out this branch is a full service salon and spa, meaning they finally do nails! I did notice that they hiked up the price on all their usual threading services, though. While most locations charge $7 for eyebrow threading (a steep $2 increase since I first started threading in 6th grade like all other Indian girls) this place charged $10. I actually didn't mind because the lady I had today was FANTASTIC. Her name is Mansoora...but she put "NiNi" in parentheses. Either way, this lady only works at this location on Fridays for now but works at the Clear Lake location on all other days. I've never had a more painless threading. She was very sensitive to the fact that I was getting threaded in the middle of a work day AND cared that I wear contacts (for once)! She also gave me a quick little facial massage when she put cream on my eyebrow arches and upper lip (no longer a mustache post-threading). Of all the Aisha's, this is easily the nicest, and of the many threaders I've had over the years, Mansoora (aka NiNi??) was easily the best! Be sure to go see her on a Friday! read more

I used a Groupon for the haircut, partial highlight and conditioning treatment for $65. I was hesitant at first because I had never been to this salon. Also, upon arriving I was asked to show my Groupon to the receptionist, who seemed to doubt its validity...Weird. She did accept it, but once I showed her on the map that yes, this Groupon was in fact for this location... My five-star rating is because of the fantastic job Simine did on my hair. She did EXACTLY what I asked and it turned out perfectly. She told me she has 20 years of experience and it definitely shows. I'm not thrilled about their dealings with Groupons, but Simine is awesome and I will definitely be going back. read more

I bought a Living Social deal awhile ago for a $18 mani/pedi and decided to finally use it. At first, I was extremely hesitant since I yelped Paris Salon & Spa (which has 1.5 stars) but I already paid for it, so I might as well go. I guess it was nice going in expecting very little because I came out pleasantly satisfied. Manicure : Probably the best nail work I've had in Houston. The lady spent time cutting, filing, buffing, moisturizing the cuticles and carefully going through with the nipper. She actually spent time on all of that! Most places I've been to go through all of that very quickly. Pedicure: It was good. I don't put as much value on a pedicure because my toes are my toes and they usually always turn out well. Only Con: the water is not warm/hot. Sort of lukewarm. End result: More than satisfied! The lady even said she would give me a discount if I came back. I actually just might! read more

Just came back from Aisha's and was very satisfied with my experience. Keep in mind I went after reading everyone's sub-par reviews, and I would say that this experience proved to change my mind. What I got done: eyebrows and upper lip Name of staff: Sudha (takes the day off on Saturdays and Tuesdays) Time it took to wait: 8 minutes or so Time I went: 12 noon Time completed eyebrows/upper lip: 20 minutes or so I made it clear to the front staff that I wanted someone who knew what they were doing and because I had bad experiences in the past. Not sure whether or not this contributed to them giving me a "better" staff member or not. Prior to starting the threading, Sudha and I had a brief discussion about what I wanted, which I would say is very important. As Sudha was doing my eyebrows, she was very considerate in her process as she did one eyebrow first, and then we could discuss if I liked it or what I wanted changed. She did that with the second eyebrow as well so that they were both the same (obviously haha). Overall a good experience. Maybe as a suggestion go in with a mindset of knowing what you want and communicating that very clearly so you aren't disappointed. Only do what you are comfortable with. Aisha's has proven to have really good people for eyebrow threading. I'll drive 45 minutes south into the city just to get threaded and I really hate driving. But may I give you a bit of warning. Aisha's does not perform eyebrow threading on men nor will the let men use the bathroom. I came in with a friend and they wouldn't serve him nor let him use the restroom. They forced my hand and I had to leave. Can they do that in this day and age? I'm a little torn over what rating I should give them. For eyebrow threading I give them a 4. I got a great deal on a haircut, deep conditioning and full highlight on groupon. This shop was not busy at all on a monday morning. I called in and they were able to accommodate me pretty much right away on the same day. The stylist named Mery took care of me. She was very soft spoken and can tell she has a lot of experience. She did a wonderful job on my hair and on my eyebrows. I will definitely return to this shop for touch ups and haircut. Ask for Mery. She is awesome! read more
