Lots of marble, lots of John Wayne memorabilia, old deli cases and drinks stacked in front of it. It's still kind of nice, but the claim to fame is the big sandwiches. Grinder rolls are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, stuffed to the gills with meat and toppings, and very big. A half is more than enough for one person to eat well, and it's a good option for food if you're jumping in a plane soon. The flavors are good but basic. No fancy toppings or meats. Very down home cooking, simple but good. They don't charge a ton either, especially with the portion you get. My parents love making the trek here as a treat. Price wise is reasonable for the portion. The biggest issue is location. There's 3-4 solid breakfast spots in that stretch of road alone, and 7-8 within a short drive. To compete, you need to offer something either as good as, better than, or different enough to drive home the sales. It's functional but is kinda lacking in any unique offerings. My recommendations would be to add some imagery of a pan sobao outside so those who don't know what it is can figure it out at a glance on the street. From my google searching, looks like it's usually served on its own with a strong cup of cafe con leche. Make that a combo on the menu. Make sure to display your breads by the counter once business starts to pick up, always offer to warm up breads before serving, and maybe consider branching out to arepas or pan de Mallorca to capture more of the market. As of right now, it's good but isn't unique and doesn't quite shine enough to overthrow the other breakfast spots. If you want a deli sandwich, they make a good bread. But there's still some tweaks to be made
