When we walked inside I saw Miss T and she was smiling. I have told you these are the BEST CHEESESTEAKS in Alabama. I have tried several here in Alabama and Cap's is the BEST. We paid and went outside. Miss T delivered our food quickly. It was great to see her looking so well. Dave ordered two steak philly cheesesteaks. I decided to try a chicken philly. Actually a chicken bacon ranch philly cheesesteak. We got an order of fries too! The steak philly cheesesteaks with provolone are delicious and very satisfying. The soft bread from up north is a wonderful contrast paired with the delicious steak and onions. Absolutely the best! 5/5 The fries were seasoned well. All in all, I was satisfied with my experience. This restaurant has historically inhabited gas stations. It recently moved from the Mountain Gap area to South Parkway. At its current location, there is no space to sit and dine, so it is take out only. I came by with a couple of coworkers to grab lunch. For future visits, I would recommend ordering ahead, as food is made fresh to order and can take some time to prepare. We decided we were willing to wait. We ordered from the owner himself and browsed the gas station's wares. You can buy sodas and other drinks from the gas station; specialty drinks like lemonade are available through Cap's if they are desired. One of my coworkers and I both got the "Crazy J," both with steak rather than chicken. This sandwich comes with provolone, bell peppers, onions, and optional mayo. My other coworker got the Cap's cheesesteak, which is just meat, onions, and optional mayo. We got two small orders of fries to share. The owner was very polite and patient with our questions and waffling on what to get. Our food took about 15 minutes to prepare and was packaged very neatly for us to take it back to the office. One might think the prices are a bit high but you'll be reassessing that thought when you see the size of the sandwich. One sandwich could easily make two hearty meals and we had leftovers for a couple of days. Everyone liked their cheesesteaks, especially the Crazy J. The sandwiches were piled high with tender steak. The bread was a little bit soggy on the edges after our drive but not intolerably so. The provolone was mixed nicely with the meat, though I wouldn't have said no to a little more cheese. I also think I would've liked a few more bell peppers or, even better, maybe some jalapeños. I'm nit picking here at this point, but I also honestly could've gone for my sandwich to be a bit saltier, which surprised me. Cheesesteaks are often salt bombs, but this one could've used a teeeeeny kick in the pants for it to be a contender for the very best in the city - just my opinion, though! It was ultimately quite tasty and extremely filling. The fries were seasoned well and fluffy on the inside. I especially enjoyed the homemade ranch to dip them in. The ranch was so good it has me considering a chicken bacon ranch for my next visit. This is definitely a business worthy of a revisit or a try if you haven't been yet. My criticisms are ultimately quite minor and probably wouldn't even be terribly relevant except I'm stacking it up against my MOST favorite cheesesteaks ever. I got word they were gonna be parked at a place not too far from where I live, so I made the drive over to check it out. Get Loaded offers loaded...everything! Pretty much any medium that's ripe for toppings, they do it. Loaded fries, loaded potatoes, loaded nachos, and loaded fry breads are their main offerings. Loading combos vary but are available across all bases; I recall BBQ, buffalo chicken, queso, bacon, etc. All of it sounded good. They were fairly busy but doing a great job politely encouraging customers to practice social distancing. I was impressed at how carefully the gentleman who took my order handled the payments; he would simply offer the device through which you'd swipe your card out of the window. He never touched the card at all! All the staff was wearing gloves, too. I tried the queso fries: waffle fries loaded up with queso, ranch, bacon, and jalapeños. Overall, I liked them a good deal. The queso was white queso (my favorite - no fake nacho cheese for me, please!) and the jalapeños gave it a pretty strong kick. I could've done with the bacon being a liiiittle bit crispier and in slightly larger chunks. The majority of my fries were cooked to a perfect crispness, but a couple of the bigger ones had a slightly rubbery quality. One warning: this is food to be eaten as soon as it's delivered to your hands. I'm glad I sat in the car and ate mine, because it would've gotten soggy on the way home. Still, it was really tasty fresh. I got my boyfriend some buffalo chicken nachos that I brought back to the house. These held up surprisingly well, better even than my fries held up in the 10-15 minutes it took me to eat them. The buffalo chicken was chunked up in bite size pieces and was juicy and flavorful. Overall, I'd definitely visit this food truck again. I hope they continue to see success - I'd love to try out some fry bread one day. They're also available for private events and catering. They serve hot dogs, of course, as well as large soft pretzels and some fabulous WvB merchandise -- I still need to buy my shirt! When we visited, they had a specialty dog (kind of a taco dog -- taco meat, salsa, tortilla chips) and brats for sale too. My dad had a brat, I'm pretty sure my mom had a chili dog, and my husband and I both got your standard ("Arsenal") dog with our choice of toppings. My parents also shared a pretzel, which I probably would've gone for too had they had a dipping sauce other than nacho cheese, as that's not my favorite. That being said, I stole a hunk of my parents' pretzel and found it agreeably soft and pleasingly salty, exactly as one would expect! Service was just one fellow manning the cart and they were pretty busy, so the line was a little slow, but he was super pleasant and working hard! Prices are also maybe a touch high ($5 for a standard dog, $6-8 for anything more involved), but what else is new in the current economy? It's nice to support local and it's certainly convenient! Hubs and I enjoyed our dogs -- very nice pleasantly beefy taste and cooked to perfection, with artfully applied condiments that covered every inch! Buns were soft and not at all stale. This truck focuses on sandwiches, wraps, and burgers, often with some sort of decadent or spicy twist. I'm a big fan mostly for their burger: two patties with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes (though I ask for these to be taken off), bacon, and their heavenly sauce, which to my tastes is reminiscent of a really good fry sauce. It's a fairly traditional burger but executed super well. The patties are a great thickness for me - maybe a bit thinner than a standard Five Guys burger - and since there's two of them it's a pretty filling meal on its own. The service has always been polite and helpful, and the food usually comes out quickly even when the truck is pretty busy. They park on the Arsenal sometimes and are working on perfecting their online ordering system to further improve wait times. My one complaint is the price/size of the fry portion. I always like to have fries with my burger, even when the burger is really big lol. You can get an order added on to your sandwich for an extra charge. Personally, I think $3 is high for the pretty small serving size they offer. I'd ideally like to have more fries OR the same amount at a lower price; either would be okay. The fries themselves are pretty good; you can get different seasonings on them and for an extra dollar can add a cup of their yummy fry sauce. The burger is legit, though, y'all -- probably my #2 or #3 favorite burger in Huntsville, depending on my mood. If they're close to me, I'll pretty reliably seek them out for a tasty meal. I would say prices are quite fair, especially for a food truck, which I find is often more expensive than I feel it should be. Overall, though, it had a nice smoke flavor and wasn't too fatty. This truck wouldn't be my first choice but I could definitely see myself returning.
