#vegetarian. I recently visited Stanlieo's Sub Villa for the second time--my first visit was about 10 years ago. This time, I ordered the Vegetarian Combo Sandwich to go, which includes veggie turkey, corned beef, wham, and chicken. I was genuinely looking forward to it, especially after hearing so many rave reviews over the years from folks in Huntsville and Oakwood University alumni. Unfortunately, my experience was a major letdown. When I got home to Atlanta and unwrapped the sandwich, I was shocked. The bread was torn and falling apart, and there were no condiments included--none on the sandwich and none in the bag. No one asked if I wanted any, and I had no idea I needed to request them. The only addition was a small portion cup of diced tomatoes and diced pickles... which did very little to help the situation. To make matters worse, the sandwich cost $21.26 for two--and honestly, I've had far better subs for much less. Given the price and all the hype, I expected something that at least held together and had some flavor. I know Stanlieo's has a strong reputation in the Huntsville community, but based on this experience, I just don't get the hype. Sadly, this was one of the worst sub sandwiches I've ever purchased. Come on, Stanlieo's--people are rooting for you. But at these prices, customers deserve quality and attention to detail. Until then, you all might be better off just heading to Subway. To be fair, the ambience is fine. The place has been around for a while, and it carries a retro charm that likely appeals to those with fond memories of visiting over the years. It still looks much like it probably did when it first opened, and I imagine that sense of nostalgia is part of its lasting appeal. But for me, nostalgia just wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster food quality.

Ruben sandwich. No cheese, little meat, lots of pickles, and thousand island dressing.

My sandwich didn't look like the picture. I never thought anyone couldn't make a simple Ruben sandwich. Customer service was great.

I wavered on a 3 or 4 star ranking here, but settled on a 4 because I truly think that I just ordered the wrong thing for me. I'll be back to try something more to my liking and will update accordingly! That being said, I came by on Monday to grab some lunch. I saw a lot of reviewers saying they didn't think this place seemed clean, and let me just say that wasn't my impression at all. It's definitely kind of a hole in the wall, and older, but that's NOT the same thing as dirty. The tables were wiped down, the counter free of grime and clutter, menus weren't sticky, drink machines looked fine to me. So that's good! The restaurant has an almost sort of a retro feel to it, with an arcade game and lots of sports team paraphernalia. The staff was friendly and was working hard - a large crowd came in right after me and they worked diligently to get all our orders filled. I had heard so many good things about the Kitchen Sink that I sort of felt like I had to try it. I got mine without ham and onions. I also ordered a side of fried mushrooms because they're one of my favorite things. :) So here is my problem: I tend to not like hot subs, and I also tend to not like subs with a ton of different toppings (I'm usually a 1meat+1cheese purist). Kitchen sink is definitely not that. I personally didn't love it, but I didn't hate it, either! The bread had a really nice texture to it and the cheese was nice and melty. As you can probably imagine, I will stay in my lane next time and go with something that's more in line with my preferences. That being said, those fried mushrooms were BOMB. Perfect serving size for a nice snack, delicious ranch dipping sauce, flavorful, crispy breading, and the mushrooms were the perfect size and shape. I'll definitely be grabbing these again, even if I can't find a sandwich that's to my liking. Stanlieo's is definitely a Huntsville institution. I look forward to returning to try more.

Sandwiches were solid. This place was dirty though. The inside needs to be cleaned and updated, but I would be fine with clean. Employees sitting when no orders. Not sure if they washed hands when heading back to make food. Do put gloves on though. Our sandwiches were delicious! Will I be back? Idk.

We were out looking for good food and my husband and I drove to Jordan Lane to get a "fix". My oh my we were so happy to get our luscious subs. My veggie combo was so good. We ordered two and should have ordered four because they were so tasty. My dad got his steak subs and said "mighty fine". Thank you for caring Connie. Y'all should gIve Stanlieo's a chance to tickle your taste buds! You will smile with each bite.

Does this look like turkey or ham?

I used to love subs from Stanlieo's, but the last two times they have made my order wrong. The last time I ordered in person and just got my money back but today I am working from home and ordered online. I had someone pick the order up, so they didn't check it. I ordered a turkey sub and got ham. I do not eat pork, so I called to complain. The guy on the phone insisted I had turkey. I explained that I had, in fact, eaten turkey before and this was NOT turkey. The guy was rude, no apology. He did tell me I could bring it back, but I am working and not able to drive back. I will give it to my dog for "national dog day" and never eat at Stanlieos again.

the Italian was tasty. But not a lot of meat and you have to pay extra to get a good amount on there to make it a sandwich.

Love this concept for downtown Huntsville! Doesn't get much more convenient than a slice of pizza…read morefor lunch. Razzo is located on Holmes Avenue. There's street parking and several parking garages within a block or two -- I used the one off Jefferson St by The Moon, but there's also one on the corner of Holmes and Greene Street. It's not a bad walk at all so don't let parking scare you! The one on Jefferson is free for 2 hours and the one off Greene is cheap and free on the weekends. Anyway, now that I'm off my parking pedestal... Razzo fills a great niche for good pizza downtown. Perhaps better than that for me, it fills the niche of "place that is actually open and serving food from 2-4 PM downtown." I'm salty because of my frustration over finding adequate late lunch spots, but sincerely, I was so happy to be able to walk in and get a bite before an appointment a few weeks ago! They have specialty pizzas that you can order in whole pies, as well as a semi-rotating selection of specialty single slices. You can always get a pepperoni or cheese slice though, which is usually what I prefer anyway. They have a really nice weekday lunch special for two slices, a soda, and a small oreo calzone for dessert. They do have some craft beers on tap, and a few other dessert and appetizer-y options. The whole pies are a little pricy, but that's because... The quality is awesome! Chewy but not doughy sourdough crust, gooey, look-at-the-pull mozzarella, a healthy drizzle of olive oil, a gorgeous subtle tomato sauce, and nicely smoky pepperoni: that's how I'd describe the slice I got when I visited. It was so good! I'd say this place is definitely among my picks for best pizza in town. Service was nice and my slice came out quickly. The inside is approachable and comfy and has a few diversions for the kids if they come along. I also think they deliver over to The Dirty Olive just up the street, so if you'd like a pizza with your craft cocktail, well...you know who to call! Two small things I would change, if I could: the prompted tip on the tablet at the end of each transaction is really high for counter service (like, I wanna say starts at 25% high). I'm not personally too pressed about it as it's easy to change the percent and at any rate I believe the workers deserve a healthy tip anyway, but I can see how it could be off-putting. Second, more importantly for me, I wish there was real silverware for use during dine in. The individual slices are quite large and appropriately semi-floppy and very cheesy. In these types of situations, I much prefer to cut my pizza into smaller pieces and eat with a knife and fork. Plastic ones were provided but they really didn't get the job done with how chewy the sourdough crust was. Ultimately, these nitpicks are pretty small for me. I definitely look forward to stopping by in the future for a quick, simple, and delicious lunch or dinner!

We showed up shortly after they opened and tried 2 different slices. I tried the pepperoni and the white cheese. The pepperoni was perfection. The white cheese was really good and had a bit of lemon, which I loved. The space is very open. There are some fun odes to rocket city that you'll have to look for. There is also a drawing pad for kids on the wall. I'm excited for the grand opening and to see what their full menu will look like! Keep your eyes open, it should be 3/29-3/30/25. Seriously tough call on the rating here. I think I'll settle on a 3 but it was super close to a 4,…read morejust several minor frustrations added up. I came here with one of my best friends who was home for Thanksgiving to have a girl's day out. BeeZr advertises a nice-looking brunch on the weekends so we thought we'd try it out. She wound up not being able to meet until later in the afternoon but I'm not opposed to a late brunch, so we got there around 1. It was a gray and dreary day on Thanksgiving weekend, so I get it being slow, but the restaurant was literally empty except for us and the servers. We joked it was because we'd rented the whole building to treat each other. The vibe is...fine inside. It definitely looks and feels more like a brewery than a restaurant, with large equipment and a sort of dimly lit atmosphere and a few large TVs by the nice bar. They have a small patio on the square which is REALLY lovely and definitely would've been my preference if the weather was nicer. Our server was okay. He was soft-spoken and not unpleasant, but did sort of have a knack for appearing at inopportune times during the conversation. I get that it's not always possible to avoid, but a little more discretion would've gone a long way, especially since we were the only ones in there. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. My biggest frustration was definitely the menu and item availability. I pre-read it and came knowing what I wanted (bananas foster French toast) only to discover that they were running a limited Thanksgiving weekend brunch menu and therefore it wasn't being offered that day. The first thing my friend ordered also wasn't available. I had my heart set on brunch so I asked for the breakfast burrito instead. Our waiter had to go check and make sure the kitchen could do it. Turns out they could - yay. But then I asked for potatoes to go with it -- and there were no breakfast potatoes available. I went with fries instead. When my burrito arrived at the table, there was no salsa or sour cream, which was supposed to come with it. Any component part of this experience is not a HUGE deal, but it all added up to be rather disappointing. My friend got the bulgogi tacos, which came in an order of two sort of small tacos. She liked them and said they were really good. She also got first a French mimosa and then a classic mimosa; I also had a classic mimosa. Both were generic but enjoyable. My breakfast burrito was decent, but I really missed the salsa and sour cream. The bacon inside was cut into tiny crunchy pieces, which I liked. The eggs were cooked very well but needed more salt and pepper. I enjoyed the bright burst of peppers and some were even a tiny bit spicy. It was a large serving but I wish it came with some side item instead of me having to order one. The side of fries was generous and they were really good -- super crispy but still fluffy inside. I thought the bill was a little high for 1 mimosa, a breakfast burrito, and fries -- almost $40. The burrito alone was $18, which seems like sooooo much for a brunch entree with no sides. Idk. Maybe I don't do mid-scale dining enough. Overall, I thought the quality of the food was solid enough that I'd consider returning, but I'd call ahead to see if they had what I wanted to avoid frustration.

Both the restaurant and the women's restroom were very clean. We entered right after opening but were made to feel quite welcome by the waitstaff. Our waitress brought our menus, including a lunch menu! I love a lunch menu. My mom and I both ordered the lunch portion of the spaghetti carbonara. She enjoyed her sweet tea and I had a diet soda. The entrees come with a piece of garlic bread. I thought the portion size and price were both perfect for a lunch serving. The garlic toast was crispy and buttery. We enjoyed our spaghetti carbonara. It's not made with eggs and cheese in the traditional way, but instead uses Alfredo sauce, which is a little disappointing to me. I remain on the hunt for that kind of carbonara in Huntsville. Still, it was a good Alfredo sauce, the pasta was cooked well, and there were ample little bacon bits.
