Well, I did it. I finally made it to Cap's Philly Cheesesteak. It's not easy find. There are two locations, and the 9th Avenue location is located in the back of a repurposed school building, which has been converted into offices. You enter the front of the old school parking lot, drive around back, and continue to the far corner. You see some parked food trucks and signs for several food trucks and restaurants. Maybe they share a common central commercial kitchen? You walk up a few steps to two big doors. One door has a small window, where you place your order. It feels like a hidden speakeasy where you need to give the special password for the order window to open. I guessed the password was cheesesteak, and I was granted my wish to order. A nice man, who I believe was the owner, took my order. As a novice, I asked for advice on cheese, and he said definitely provolone. There was a little wait, but the owner kept me posted that the order was being prepared. He brought my order out like a proud father carrying a newborn baby. He states that I must try it before I leave to give immediate feedback. I said sure, and sat down at the lone 4-seat metal table. As I unwrapped the baby, I mean sandwich, I could tell this was going to be good. First, the sandwich is large. Second, the bread, similar to French bread or a hoagie, was so soft and tender, just soaking up the meat juices and melted cheese. Third, speaking of cheese, a large amount of provolone cheese was infused throughout the sandwich, making it all gooey and pretty. Fourth, the meat was hot and chopped/shredded, and they didn't skimp on the portion size. The only recommendation is to add a little more seasoning, but this is a minor critique. The feedback? Well, the sandwich was absolutely fabulous. Overall, navigating the corn maze to get there and then completing the speakeasy challenge provides a unique atmosphere, and the fantastic sandwiches will keep you coming back. Cap's is a must-try!

Staff is amazing and super kind. Took a little while to prepare since I didn't order ahead but everything was fresh and delicious! Cajun fries were not spicy hot, just more seasoned. I had to hang around in the convenience store that had a lot of options for its size. Workers kept me updated on my order as I waited. Store is not the best lit but I also went after dark in early February. The food definitely lived up to the hype.

Delicious cheesesteaks served at Cap's! As you can see from the photos these subs are loaded! Finely chopped very cheesy and the veggie to meat ratio was perfect for me. Fries were nice and fresh, could've been a little more crispy for a crunch but they were seasoned well which compensated for the texture. The service was great. Super friendly staff accommodating for whatever you need, ready to answer questions if need be. Such a nostalgic experience for me very homey with the flow of an on the go spot with great food and great service. If you're in south Huntsville go shop with Cap and grab you a cheesesteak. They have a vegetarian option as well for dietary restrictions.

Friendly, fast, fresh. Delicious philly cheesesteak. Came by after seeing a post on social media. I love hole in the wall places like this. Focus is on the food and service, not the decor. Highly recommend.

Best Philly Cheesesteak in town, good service, nice family business. Cap spent summers in Philly where he learned the authentic recipes.

Amazing staff and customer service. I was disappointed that the cheesesteak itself was bland. The Cajun fries weren't that seasoned either.

A super soft bun STUFFED with tender chopped steak, mushrooms and onions (I skipped the peppers) all mixed together with gooey white American. (I also skipped the mayo - who does that to a cheesesteak anyway?). This sandwich was huge - I was barely able to eat half. Make sure to grab extra napkins, the sandwich was so big and juicy, I made a mess. Where my meal lacked was the fries. My combo came with a mound of crinkle fries. Not sure what was wrong with them - they just weren't very good. My lunch mate agreed with me on this and he eats anything. Chick N Go also has chicken wings and tenders, 3 types of fried fish and a smattering of subs on their menu. Most everything comes with an option to add a side of wings for a nominal charge. The wait time for our food wasn't very long but we did beat the crowd (by 11:30 on a Wednesday, the place was packed). Parking is plentiful and the prices are reasonable - my sandwich came with the fries and a drink for just over $13. There was enough food left for my husband's dinner. I'll be in Philly in a few weeks and will undoubtedly have a cheesesteak there but in the meantime, if I have that craving, Chick N Go will be my place.

We were served a giant grilled chicken sandwich. It looked delish. That was our bad too. The chicken looked like it had seasoning on it, maybe it was just crud from the grill, but this was definitely an unseasoned piece of chicken. We both ordered grilled mushrooms and onions. Those didn't even help the flavor. We moved on to honey mustard, trying to save the sandwich. Unfortunately, the sauce did nothing but make the bun fall apart. We now had a flavorless mess to deal with - eat it or trash it. My husband chose "eat it" because he hates to see food wasted. He complained with almost every bite. I chose "trash it" - I'm too old to eat things I don't like. There were numerous sides available - fries, tots, o-rings, cheese curds and fried pickles. We opted for the rings to share. For just over $4, we received 6 onion rings. They weren't anything special at all - just a rip-off. My husband and I have gotten into the habit of rating every meal - luckily he's generous with the stars when I'm cooking! We had waffled a little but decided on a three. That's until we went to the restroom to wash our hands. The woman's room obviously hadn't had a good, deep cleaning in quite some time. It's beyond the point of a couple paper towels and a bottle of windex. My husband said the men's room wasn't the best either. That three stars suddenly became a hard 2. Wayback Burgers is convenient for us, their loyalty program is pretty straightforward and coupons are not too difficult to find. Unfortunately, the food and cleanliness just made all of those positives nill.
