We've had boxes on our bathroom counters for 3 weeks now. I actually needed to go to a headache clinic today because I was very sick with a horrible 3 day migraine, but we couldn't leave the house if Shawn was eventually coming. I have notified the friend who referred us to him as well as everyone in my HOA's Facebook group because he was recommended by her and I needed to let others know that Shawn is not a reliable plumber. Baded on all the other 1 srar reviews, i anticipate Shawn will respond and say it's somehow our fault, like he has done with all the other bad reviews, but all we did was try to give him a job to do. There must have been a small leak in the connection as I wiped it dry one day and the next day when I checked, it was a little wet. Had another plumber access and come and fix it and he said the pipe was not sealed correctly on the original install, so it obviously cost me money to repair it. Granted this was 4 years later but still I would not expect an issue 4 years after getting a new hot water heater installed, so you can be the judge if thats an unreasonable expectation.

I called HEIL Plumbing when they opened at 07:30 hrs. I got a return call from Allison within 1 hour. She was able to schedule Eric (the younger) to come out the same day between 09:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs. Eric arrived at approximately 09:20 hrs. Eric quickly diagnosed the issue. This time, while he was running diagnostic checks to identify the issue, fortunately, the toilet clog cleared itself. He ran the check a number of times , including running the sink cold water to try to overload the waste line with water, to make sure that the clogged toilet was no longer an issue. Once he was satisfied that all was good, he let me know that the charge for today would be the general diagniostic charge of $95.00. Again, I was extremely satisfied with the entire process, from making an appointment, to Eric's arrival time, his pleasant demeanor and his professional knowledge. I would highly recomment Eric (the younger) with HEIL Plumbing for anyone who has a residential plumbing issue that they need to have addressed by a pleasant, knowledgeable professional.

The main problem and downside is that they are very expensive and overcharge. Despite the Yelp page saying that the company provides a "free estimate", I was quoted $49 for the technician to travel. In addition, if I had not chosen to go ahead with the repair, the company would have charged me an additional $150 diagnostic fee. Essentially, despite the yelp profile stating a "free estimate", it will cost you closer to $200 to get a quote. I see this as false advertisement. In addition, when the technician concluded that the problem was the capacitor, I received a final quote of $600. When I googled the price of the same capacitor online, the price range was in between 75$ - 150$. Essentially, they are charging a premium of at least $450 per replacement for a single part (capacitor). Despite their professionalism and quality work, I do not recommend this company for the reasons stated above. If price is not a concern for you, and you would rather pay twice the market value for a job then you should definitely choose them. EDIT: I actually googled the price of a capacitor and offered to buy my own. I was told that by the technician that if I purchased my own capacitor that the company would not install it. In conclusion, they did not address any of my concerns. Unfortunately, after reading the other bad reviews, there seems to be a consistent pattern of discrepancies between what they tell customers and what they instruct technicians to say on site. Making an honest living is so much more rewarding than making it dishonest living.

I have used Tom Hardisty several times now for a plumbing emergency and then for general…read moremaintenance. I have finally found my Go To plumber, and I am relieved knowing I have Tom to call. He is extremely honest and charges very fair prices, unlike those big plumbing companies who send out plumbers with half the knowledge and skill set of Tom. During my plumbing emergency (washing machine valve burst), Tom called me right back and walked me through how to get the situation under control (which enabled my water to be turned back on:). He didn't even know me yet. He fixed that plumbing problem and since then I have had Tom do many plumbing projects for me like: 1) replace garbage disposal 2) add water pressure valve to home as mine was dangerously high 3) install new faucet 4) change all toilet tank bolts and gaskets 5) replace fill valve/guts for two toilets. It's really hard to find an ethical plumber who takes such pride in his work and makes sure he does right by his clients. Example, I said to Tom recently when he was working in my home that "I will probably need a new hot water heater soon." Called these people for an estimate to repair/replace leaky copper pipes in the basement that were…read moreleaking, on top of the Hot Water heater. The guy came out, don't want to name the plumber, sent me an estimate literally 5 minutes after leaving the house. The estimate was for almost $5000 to replace the hot water heater and another $4500+ to repair/replace the leaky pipes for a total of almost $9500. Ridiculously laughable. I was able to get the job done for $1200 total by a licensed independent plumber. I didn't need the HW heater to be replaced. They just had to remove some HVAC ductwork to get to the leaky pipes, which they put everything back after replacing pipes. Do Not use Mallick I would consider them to be untrustworthy, and total rip off. Always get at least 3 estimates just make sure they are licensed. I still ended paying $99 for Mallick because they have a policy you pay $99 for estimate but gets added to the total if you get the work done. Again, ripoff. I also got an estimate from FH Furr that was significantly lower than Mallick but they were unwilling to remove ducts that they didn't install. Another ridiculous policy by another large plumbing company even though their plumber said they would have to involve the HVAC department. Maybe their plumbers don't know company policy. These guys didn't charge for an estimate. My recommendation is DO NOT use Mallick and even DO NOT use FH Furr.
