We scheduled service two different times with Shawn and yet not only did he not show up, but he never even contacted us to let us know. TWO separate times! The first time ge apologized so we thought it was a fluke, but his text on Friday saying he would see us today was meaningless We spent two full days waiting for him to arrive and my husband spent a lot of time cleaning, taking things out from under the cabinets and putting them up on our bathroom counters so that Shawn could actually work on the sinks. We've had boxes on our bathroom counters for 3 weeks now. I actually needed to go to a headache clinic today because I was very sick with a horrible 3 day migraine, but we couldn't leave the house if Shawn was eventually coming. I have notified the friend who referred us to him as well as everyone in my HOA's Facebook group because he was recommended by her and I needed to let others know that Shawn is not a reliable plumber. Baded on all the other 1 srar reviews, i anticipate Shawn will respond and say it's somehow our fault, like he has done with all the other bad reviews, but all we did was try to give him a job to do. An update on a hot water heater install 4 years later. Ends up that the cold water inlet pipe was corroding pretty bad right where it connects to the water heater. There must have been a small leak in the connection as I wiped it dry one day and the next day when I checked, it was a little wet. Had another plumber access and come and fix it and he said the pipe was not sealed correctly on the original install, so it obviously cost me money to repair it. Granted this was 4 years later but still I would not expect an issue 4 years after getting a new hot water heater installed, so you can be the judge if thats an unreasonable expectation. read more

I waited all day and unfortunately they never came. ESP called back and profusely apologized in the voicemail for missing the appointment. No biggie. We're all human and make mistakes. I used Yelp to find a plumber to install a kitchen faucet and the first one was so amateurish that he wanted to charge 540 for installation and the charge for a new faucet is 540! (I bought one from Amazon.com for less than 60, excellent reviews.) Further he was very late. I contacted Elite and they charged 273.92 for the installation, I consider this charge reasonable. I politely tried to get a quote from this company offering a detailed description of the job and explaining that I knew it would only be an estimate but that plumber's costs vary so widely we were just trying to figure out who would likely be a good value, rather than having a handful of plumbers come to the house during a pandemic just to get ballpark estimates. We also have young children who are unvaccinated and are trying to minimize their exposure to people, especially in the home. A man who was identified as the owner of the business replied to my query and was incredibly rude, acted like this was the most unreasonable thing he'd ever heard, and suggested I should have to pay just to message him. We just moved to the area and are looking to our go-to plumber, we just bought a fixer upper. Could have been great customers to this guy if he wasn't such a jerk. Don't waste your time here. EDIT, RESPONSE TO OWNER: Sorry he wants to paint me as a cheapskate, it was never about the $29 service fee (not even sure anymore what the $18 is about...) and everything about the fact that this guy was trying to make it as inconvenient as he could for me to get an estimate, which is exactly how home improvement providers get away with ripping people off/price gouging--trying to make it so homeowners won't realize that other people are charging $200 less for the exact same work. Because who has time to have 5 plumbers come to their house just to figure out how much they cost? I took contractor bids as part of my job for quite some time, guys like this would never play games like this with a commercial client, but they do it with homeowners because they're banking on you to be uneducated enough that they can bully you and get away with it. That's not unreasonable, but then I said other companies have given me quotes for free. Then was asked for those other companies' quotes (hypocritical?).
