Since HEIL Plumbing has been my "go to" residential plumbing service for a number of years, I called them immediately when we had a slow toilet draining issue in the basemernt bathroom. I called HEIL Plumbing when they opened at 07:30 hrs. I got a return call from Allison within 1 hour. She was able to schedule Eric (the younger) to come out the same day between 09:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs. Eric arrived at approximately 09:20 hrs. Eric quickly diagnosed the issue. This time, while he was running diagnostic checks to identify the issue, fortunately, the toilet clog cleared itself. He ran the check a number of times , including running the sink cold water to try to overload the waste line with water, to make sure that the clogged toilet was no longer an issue. Once he was satisfied that all was good, he let me know that the charge for today would be the general diagniostic charge of $95.00. Again, I was extremely satisfied with the entire process, from making an appointment, to Eric's arrival time, his pleasant demeanor and his professional knowledge. I would highly recomment Eric (the younger) with HEIL Plumbing for anyone who has a residential plumbing issue that they need to have addressed by a pleasant, knowledgeable professional. read more

I booked a repair assessment, which is very expensive, with the expectation that the expert is as good as described in these reviews. We were very disappointed. The technician did arrive on time, but did not offer any insight to our leak issue other than here's how much Heil would charge for a replacement. The assessment took a minute. We had to spoon-feed questions and answers to get the technician to tell us more of what he saw. The answers did not reflect any expertise or insightful-ness. Wish the assessment was either free or can get a refund. read more

Told me to change the hot water system when it was a maintenance issue. Then baited and switched to an inferior brand when name brand was specifically asked. Of course in the process of the repair, I learned the heater wasn't broken, just have to flush it on a regular basis. read more

Heil just replaced the guts of my Toto toilet. Took 3 weeks to get the parts but the kicker was a $700 charge to do the job. I screwed up by not asking before he left to order parts so when I saw the charge I paid it. It's flat out overcharging for the service. I requested an invoice broken down by parts and labor surprise they would not do saying it was flat rate. I have had Heil do a couple of jobs but this will definitely be last one they do. read more

Ripped me off for $733 and only replaced a flange and a wax seal on the toilet in the master bathroom. It started leaking again soon thereafter so I hired someone with a good reputation that's known to be fair and honest. I was afraid to call them to come back in and rip me off again. After calling two different plumbers and having no shows or no responses - I reached out to Heil Plumbing regarding a leaky faucet in the bathroom. The appointment was scheduled from 7:30am - 11am. True to their word, the guy showed up at EXACTLY 7:30am. First off, props to keeping their appointment time early. Once inside, the guy was able to figure out the problem and gave me a price estimate. I think there was a $99 or fee associated with them coming in the first place, but that amount will be included in the overall fee if you decide to go with them. In any case, the price was much lower than I expected so that was nice. There's more. So after the guy left, it all seemed to work but I still placed one of those water meter readings in case of a leak. It goes off if it detects water. That night, it started going off again. So naturally, I called HP back and asked for them to come back and check it again. I set up the appointment and a different guy came. Turns out, it was most likely residual water that was left underneath the sink that set the water meter off. In any case, the second guy stayed and tested the water multiple times to ensure there as no leaky sink. On top of that, HP did not charge me for having him come out. To HP, I probably seemed like a nuisance of a customer, but I will definitely use them again if needed. read more

First i want to say when I called for service the person on the phone was so nice and personable, which gives me an indication on how the service will be and then received an email confirmation for my appointment. What an amazing experience! Total professionalism was shown from the beginning to the end. I got email updates both before the appointment (an email to confirm the date and time) and after the appointment (a thank you email with the invoice) AND I got a text when the technician was 20 minutes out. Just a word of caution to anyone else. If you have the money, they will do an excellent job, but there is probably a more cost effective plumber of similar quality out there. All of the personnel were pleasant to deal with. They had an available time slot the day after I called so I took it. The plumber was polite, showed up on time, worked cleanly and efficiently and was able to effectively diagnose and fix the problem. My only gripe is that it felt like the service was over priced. They charged $750 for a service that took less than an hour. The plumber arrived at 8:19 and was gone by 9:10. I understand that the years of experience may have made the job go significantly faster for this particular plumber than for someone with fewer years in the industry. When asked he indicated it was a flat rate for the service and considered to be a 2 hour job. At $750 it feels like a lot. for reference the part being replaced (1" PRV Valve) was roughly $150-250 for me online so likely cheaper from a plumbing supplier. that would make it ~$500 for a 2 hour service. $250/hr for labor, is more than anywhere I know of. if you factor in 10/10 for overhead and profit you're still at ~$200/hr. I know people are entitled to be paid for their time and businesses are entitled to make money for their services, but I do feel like I overpaid and that I should have had at least one other plumber price the work before agreeing to have Heil handle this for me. Don't get me wrong, they did a great job, I just feel like I paid a premium price for them to do so. Maybe they are worth it, but I'll definitely call around next time. read more
