1st time there was a little hesitant being a strip mall joint. But walking in pleasantly surprised they offer an all you can eat and if you break it down it's worth the money. We did an appetizer and 2 different types of sushi rolls. There was a mix up with our order but the server made Good on it. The presentation was very thoughtful

As with all new restaurants, they are working out the kinks. Sometimes there are shortages that are unexplainable other than they are truly operating on a check by check basis, like running out of cans of diet cola. However, the family who has opened this has clearly Invested a lot of personal dreams toward getting it right. Some might say they have mis-invested, like I don't know if it's necessary to have your restaurant name on all of your plates - that must've cost them a fortune and they should probably just keep Diet Coke in stock. Some of the kitchy light up decor Looks like it came straight from Temu. However, I don't mind any of this because the food quality is truly excellent. They are doing what they can to give diners both a show-y presentation and top-notch food. Sometimes they'll decorate your platter with a little battery operated LED string of lights, other times it will be a little piece of dry ice rolling fog over your dish. Neither one is necessary, but they do it because they really want to impress you. Most impressive, however, is the quality of the food. They have an extensive menu and many unique rolls and the prices are unbeatable. Unlike many all-you-can-eat offerings, the all you can eat menu at Aji Sushi excludes a very few of the premier roles. Almost all the other rolls are included and and also includes an extensive list of appetizers, miso soup and salad. Their profit margin is probably fairly slim charging $29 for that type of dinner and I hope that this place makes it. The seafood they're preparing is not inexpensive, and although once in a while you have to ask for things like ginger or wasabi (and I don't know it's because they're trying to save money by not automatically including it or they just forget), they truly put some tasty food in front of you. Miraculously, they have been able to find servers who are pleasant and attentive, and always have a positive attitude, which is a miracle in the service industry these days. They should be commended for providing a truly pleasant experience. They also offer an "upscale" menu item that not all sushi places offer: Ama Ebi. That's where they serve you the shrimp and the shrimp head is deep-fried and served separately. It's an extra $2.75 in addition to the all-you-can-eat price, but if you like Ama Ebi it's a real treat. Pro tip: they have many lunch specials at deeply discounted prices. Look at the back of the menu when you go for lunch. You can get three rolls soup and salad for $15. That's amazing. I hope this place makes it, because the only other option in the area is Zuki in New Lenox and they are overpriced and under-quality. They also charge full price for hibachi meals even if you're not sitting there watching a chef flip shrimp tails into his pocket. Also the clown who works the register there dresses in ripped daisy dukes jean shorts and tube tops (but does not have the body for it) and her appearance and attitude are both unappetizing. Give Aji a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Friends! You have to stop in and have a meal at this very nice spot!…read more It has been in Mokena, IL for 2 years. We went early afternoon on a weekday, so there was no wait, and the place was almost empty. The water came in an adorable carafe, with 6 oz "shot glasses". I found it to be so cute! And it was just enough water for sipping. It was iced cold. I believe we were just thirst and drank it all, lol. Free to the table- House Chips and Salsa. Simple and straight to the point. Ok, to the good stuff! Starters/App: We ordered a "Salsa Flight". It is just what it sounds like, a flight of assorted salsas. There were 6. Great for sharing, not big portions. It ranged from sweet, smokey, fruity, savory, to spicy baby! Of course it came with tortilla chips. So, so good! We also ordered Birria Egg Rolls. Friends!!! Delightfully yummers! Crisp on the outside, cheesy and meaty inside. The cooks were creating magical bites for me this day. lol Very good bites. I ordered a Pina-Colada Margarita. This sip was DELICIOUSNESS. Omg! Like....fresh, and powerful, yet well balanced. TASTY SIPS FRIENDS! I ordered what was like a Taco/loaded steak potato with all the trimmings (cheese, steak pico, sour cream). That is what came on it. There were other option of meats. Because I was so focused, I don't even recall what my date ate. HA! But I will say that my potato was not the best. It was over and under cooked. You are probably wondering like "HOW IS THAT"? Well, the potato was not cooked all the way through(hard pieces), but it was burnt at the bottom of the potato (images to come). That was disappointing. The starters/apps were so tasty, I ended up not finishing the potato, but I was saddened that they served the potato knowing the shape it was in. The meat and cheese and such couldn't even hide it once you moved the toppings to the side. Now, don't let my unhappy potato stop you from checking this place out. I am looking forward to bring my family back, and a few friends. If off sips and chips alone, its a place to get familiar with. Finally had a chance, and I will return. As always, you don't have to take my word for it, go get you some!

However, the service was sub par as our waitress seemed to steer clear of our table yet she mad sure to check on all of her other tables frequently. We even had to ask other servers and busser if they could track her down for us. The icing on the cake was that they ran out of water cups and so now 6 of us are drinking out of the water pitcher that they left at the table. When we asked if we could have more cups we were told that they were out of them, yet drinks continued to be made at the bar (in cups). We would have even taken paper cups instead of drinking from the same water pitcher. It was just an overall disappointing experience for it to be my first time. The only positives were the women and gentleman in the front greeting and seating and the young men who brought the food out to the table and cleared the table. I really want to change my rating for just the food and certain individuals but I just cannot get around 6 different peoples lips on the same water pitcher and nor form of compensation for the inconvenience (not looking for money off but at least a complimentary bottle of water or something). But because of the service and lack of awareness of your customers all sharing a single water pitcher and not even checking in to see if we needed anything or if we were even enjoying the food is just unacceptable.

Brunch at Cooper's Hawk in New Lenox did not disappoint!…read more The patio was absolutely fantastic on a beautiful summer morning, our waitress was amazing, and the food and drinks were perfection. Honestly, it was one of those brunches where nobody wanted to leave because the atmosphere was just that good. If you haven't tried their brunch yet, put it on your summer to-do list. They always have such a variety for every pallet from semi sweet to extra dry. Have only had an issue once with service and it was handled to my satisfaction. I enjoy the trio medallions or the pork chop when I desire to eat more. On the lighter side, I have fallen in love with the sausage and burrata flat bread, a delicate but flavorful bite. On this occasion, I grabbed a couple of friends and we participated in the 5K Wine Run. Oh what fun! I don't want to give away any spoilers but there is good wine included with your registration. Stay for brunch afterwards, but I encourage you to make a reservation. Although, it rained during the walk/run, it was warm and still made for a nice experience. The sun came out afterwards kinda like an additional reward besides our medal.

Actually one of the nicer restaurants around. That may not be saying a lot but it's where to go if wanting something better than the chain restaurants. Coming here the first time we weren't sure what to expect. It's actually a lot more casual than it sounded at first. This isn't some fancy ass steakhouse. A lot more of a blue collar atmosphere. The prices are kind of high on cocktails though. It's about $16 for one of the Summer Mojitos. They have a few flavors to choose and I got raspberry. A lot of the food is meaty as expected. It's about $12 for the pretzels. Basic. We got these as one of our few options. Comes with what they call chips sauce, which is made with pickles amazingly. The rest of the menu features burgers and fries and of course big ass steaks. Has some of the better food in town to be honest. It's located in kind of a hard to see location. There's a crowd especially on weekends.
