Gyu Roll

Quick pick up for take out. Got the Gyu roll, has flavored beef and fried onions. And also the Dragon roll, krab, avocado, cucumber and topped with a whole Eel, which I enjoyed it was crispy. I usually get extra ginger and gluten feee sauce.

Philly roll (left), volcano roll (top right) and mango tango (bottom right)

A quick night out with a friend of mine for some sushi let us to Aji as it was quick and easy. We arrived around 6:30 PM on a Wednesday night and found it was easier to park in the parking lot across from Havertys. We were just getting sushi so we were able to get seated right away with just a party of two. I opted for the Philadelphia roll, which includes cream cheese, cucumber, and salmon, as well as volcano roll which is Krab, cucumber and a bunch of other stuff.

22 pieces of Sashimi, plus fresh ginger, in-house freshly prepared Wasabi.

We eat here often. On March 29, 2025, we ordered the Deluxe Sashimi. 22 pieces of assorted Sashimi. All high quality sushi grade. Delicious, fresh, good sized pieces (largest we have had in central Florida). Service was on point. Waitress was attentive. All the staff are friendly every time. Highly recommend if you want good sushi, sashimi and the Teppan room. We have had all.

Hebachi and the plum wine is so good.

Where do I start.... I've been going to this restaurant for about 4yrs now and it's amazing. The service is phenomenal. I live in independence and I'm here literally 3 days a week lol I absolutely love this restaurant. Me and my husband came here when we were dating for a date and this has been our spot ever since. Food is awesome service is spectacular and did I mention how absolutely wonderful the food is... so so good. The Saturday night sushi roll is AMAZING!!!! Just order it you'll love it

Service not so good. It's like they are doing you a favor and you have to ask for your waitress, if not, you can't put in your order. Food ok, sushi rice was still warm when the gave me my order. Rice was not good and the seaweed lost its fresh crunch. Disappointed...

The environment is beautiful, staff were friendly. Food is a little expensive, and the flavor not that good. Drink was good though.

The review is based on our takeout order for 3 rolls....the Kimono Roll, the Rock & Roll, and the T-Rex Roll. The total for the above meal was $53 and the rolls are a decent size. I don't have the best experience when dining in...there is just something about the energy and service that are a little uninviting....hence the reason for takeout tonight. The eel on my roll seemed much slimier than other restaurants and the shrimp tempura was fried extremely hard to the point where it was merely the breading only in some pieces. I would love to see this restaurant succeed in winter garden village. Not sure I will be back anytime soon, but if you've never tried it, I encourage you to do so to form your own opinion. The quality has stayed consistently strong, which is honestly rare once a restaurant gets more popular. They are always trying new things and their menu has grown to be a perfect fit for everyone to find something. They have an excellent selection of high quality sushi and the perfect place for sushi lovers to have an amazing dining experience. Every time I've gone, the presentation has been beautiful and the fish has tasted incredibly fresh. One thing I especially appreciate is the consistency of the experience. The staff has always been welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, and you can tell there's a lot of care put into both the food and the overall dining experience. I've brought multiple people here over the years and it has become one of those places I continuously recommend and bring all my family and friends to. Definitely worth visiting if you're looking for high-quality sushi with a polished but still approachable atmosphere.

We were greeted by a waiter holding the door open for us. When we entered, I was taken aback by the upscale decor. The staff immediately seated us, and Anna came up to bring water and give us recommendations on the menu. Another staff member (I failed to catch his name unfortunately) also gave us great suggestions and information on the restaurant. They were both very knowledgeable of the menu and even where the ingredients were sourced. They were both outstanding. We got the truffle edamame (outstanding), the Mucca di Mare appetizer (unexpectedly perfect, no sauce, wasabi, or ginger needed), the Ceviche roll (so fresh and bright) and the Ultimate Salmon roll (salmon, prosciutto, brie cheese, and more?! Count me in!) The fish was so fresh, it had no fish flavor or scent at all. It was perfect. The rolls were innovative and balanced in flavor. I have no feedback other than these were possibly the best rolls I've had in the Orlando area. We also had the Alaska Cake for dessert. It was very light and refreshing. It wasn't overwhelming or huge. It was the perfect end to a meal. And for my birthday, they even put a candle in it for me! Their birthday surprise was also unexpected and a delight. I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

It's definitely one of the more affordable omakase options I've found and I'd come back and do it all over again. Here are some of my favorites in case you just want to try a few à la carte pieces. 1. Kinmedai with tomato powder and yuzu kosho - this was rich, buttery, and full of umami contrasted with tomato powder and yuzu for a nice bright lift. 2. Tachiou with green chili crisp was slightly torched so it had that nice smokiness and a little rendered skin fat while the rest was super tender. I think this is the first time I've had this dish and will be looking out for it now. 3. King Salmon with truffle cream and miso sauce was so ridiculously delicious, rich, buttery, melt in your mouth goodness. 4. Hotate with spicy tobanjan aioli was smoky, sweet, spicy, and oh so creamy. 5. Uni from Japan was perfectly briny, sweet, and creamy. If you're an uni lover this is for you. If you tried it before and didn't like it, try it again here. Honorable mention for the spicy tuna maki. It's probably the best I've had. Seasoned with togarashi, I assume a little kewpie mayo, maybe green onion, and some pickled daikon. Perfect heat, fresh, and a nice crunch and lift from the pickled daikon. They have set seating times and limited counter seats so be sure to make a reservation. They're very welcoming and friendly. The vibe is casual, which I love -- just come as you are.

The overall atmosphere was quaint but inviting. The restaurant has these really cool fixtures over the tables that add almost a brutalist feel to it, but for the most part, it is a pretty traditional restaurant layout. There is ample seating, and there is also ample parking in the plaza where this restaurant is located. As for the dining experience (food) itself, I kept it light with my order. I ordered the avocado roll and paired it with some miso soup. Both of which I enjoyed IMMENSLY. I am looking forward to going back to try more of their menu and venture into their speciality rolls. The pricing is GREAT. For my first experience, I was quite pleased.

The booth we sat in had a beautiful and asymmetrical heavy wooden table top polished to a brilliant shine, and there were a surprising number of diners there at noonish, on a Tuesday... what's that tell you? Now: the food! *First, for the technically challenged, be warned that the menu is available via phone and QR Code. If you want a printed menu, too bad. Otherwise... We began our meal with Agedashi Tofu, which is fried cubes of tofu that have a magnificently thin layer of a crisp skin encasing melted tofu, and there's a perfect sauce to dip them in. I have been thinking about these for an hour now and can't even imagine how they are made. A delicious magic trick! Next, we had an Eel and Shrimp Tempura Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Bento Box, and two Nigiri and Sashimi lunch specials. The Tempura was light and crisp. The bento box included a spring roll, fried rice, and gyoza, all perfectly flavored. The Nigiri and Sashimi fish was served cold and absolutely fresh, and was sliced generously. The Nigiri and Sushi lunches included a California roll, 4 pieces of sushi, and six pieces of sashimi, and really was a lot of excellent food for a bargain $24. I almost forgot that we started, along with the Agedashi Tofu, with a very subtly flavored miso soup with tofu and seaweed. This was also perfection, with just a breath of ginger and perfect salt. I hope I've convinced you fans of Japanese food to try this restaurant. If you're new to Japanese food's many varieties and intricacies, or hesitant to eat raw foods, there are always cooked meat and fish dishes like Tempura or Teriyaki you can order, and then you can explore by tasting the more exotic things your friends and family order. Maybe you'll develop a taste for it! If you already have a taste for Japanese food, don't pass up an opportunity to eat a wonderful meal at Mikado, in MetroWest.

This review is a bit overdue but the experience has last much longer than the time spent there!…read more (My apologies, no photos this time!) I sat at the bar since it was only myself dining but thankfully the All You Can Eat (AYCE) dinner still applies to that section. It was under $40 to receive the food in excess minus the drinks; drinks (even cocktails) were very affordable. My bartender Jonell was awesome with servicing me (I had the passionfruit flavored Tropical Long Island) and Laine was super sweet in checking in on me during my dining experience! Please ask for their service when you visit, best recommendations! For my first round, I had the Clam Soup, Aged Tofu, Harumaki, Green Mussels, and Eel & Octopus Roll; for specialty rolls I had the King Kai, Crunchy (hand), and Eel Cucumber roll. Acording to my receipt I also got a King Oyster Mushroom Tempura [roll]? While I don't remember ordering it, I do remember that was one of my favorites! Loved the clam soup and the green mussels! Second round included a favorite from staff which was the Yellowtail Jalapeno (I'm very glad to have ordered that one, spot on! Thanks Jenna!). I finally had enough and topped my wonderful meal with a fried cheesecake dessert inlcuded in the AYCE dinner. All in all, for under $50 party of 1, I wouldn't trade this experience for any tourist Florida dining experience. ^_^

She advised us that if any one wanted all-you-can-eat the entire table would have to order all-you-can-eat. We told her we didn't want all-you-can-eat and to bring us regular menus. Tranh returned and told us she didn't have enough regular menus for the entire table. We found that bizarre because the restaurant had just open and there was only one other group besides us at the time. We told her we would just have to share. While we looked over the menus, Tranh brought cups of water. I didn't see the flavored teas on the menu so I asked her about them. I was disappointed to learn that the flavored teas are no longer available. I loved the tea I had last time we visited and was looking forward to having another one this visit. While trying to decide what I wanted to drink, my friend ordered a Yama Coconut Heaven. When she received it, she offered us a taste. It was heavenly. I loved it so much I decided to order one as did another friend who also sampled the drink. The Yama Coconut Heaven had a great balance of the Bacardi Coconut Rum, Sake, Pineapple Juice, Coconut Puree and Champagne. To share, I ordered the Spicy Combo (Tuna, Salmon, and Yellowtail Sushi Rolls). For my entree, I selected the Steak Hibachi . The hibachi came with the choice of white or fried rice, miso or clear soup and a salad. I chose miso and substituted for brown rice. The food came out quickly. We had to shuffle items around to make space for the food. I was so full from the soup, salad, and some of the sushi rolls that I had to take the rest home. I did sample a piece of steak before packing the food in the to-go containers. The steak was satisfying good. It was tender, flavored well, and cooked perfectly. The leftovers reheated well. Some of my friends and I are already planning to return for sushi rolls and more of the Yama Coconut Heaven.

We were greeted right away and seated immediately, which was a great start. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, helping us feel comfortable with our choices. They offer a wide variety of signature and specialty rolls. We ordered the Citrus Roll, Sea Fusion Roll, and Volcano Roll. Overall, they were good; however, in my opinion, they had a bit too much rice. I personally prefer less rice so I can better enjoy the flavor of the fish, but I understand that this can come down to personal preference. One roll that really stood out to us was the Honey Salmon! It was definitely a highlight of the meal. As an appetizer, we had the fried salmon croquette, which was good and a great way to start. To finish, we ordered the molten lava cake for dessert and it did not disappoint. We cleaned the plate! In terms of pricing, I felt that some of the rolls we ordered (aside from the Honey Salmon) were a bit on the pricier side considering the rice-to-fish ratio. I've had similarly priced sushi at other places with less rice, which better suited my taste. That said, we'd absolutely come back next time we're in Winter Garden. We'd love to try different rolls and explore more of the menu. Maybe the ones we chose just weren't the best fit for our preference
