This is my first time coming to AKA Hibachi & Sushi, so I didn't know what to expect. We had a last minute craving for this cuisine and this place was close. We walk up and see its not too crowded, so we are excited, but at the same time wondering why they are not crowded. We walk in and we are seated pretty fast. Our server greets us, his name is Mason, he's a good guy and has a great attitude. After few jokes and questions, we drop our order and begin waiting for the cook to come to our table. I went to wash my hands, and the bathrooms were clean. As I always mention, this is very important to me since it shows how a restaraunt is cared for. Back to the table I go... I ordered a bottle of wine, so I was good on the drinks, and there was a pretty cook family on the other side of us that left us with good conversation. Here's where the story gets good. Our hibachi cooks name was "Japanese cowboy" (I can't make this up). This gentleman was so awesome and fun, he made the experience one of the best I've had. From the comments he made, to the way he treated my wife and daughter, this guy entertained us the whole time he cooked for us. He did the normal onion train, and juggled a few shrimp, but he also got personal and talked about the beauty of Japan. He will be my go to guy "when", not "if" I go back! The place is close, and for some reason doesn't pack a crowd as big as some of the other places, at least not the night we went, but because the service is great and the food is equally delicious, I can see myself returning soon, especially since my son was not with us... It's been a while since we've been to a hibachi restaurant. Our chef was such a jokester and so much fun. As always, it was fun to watch him cook as he did all his tricks. Food is seasoned well, veggies stayed nice and crisp, meat was cooked to our specifications, and good portion size. Good experience over all. read more

Just spent $180 on dinner for two. I got the double lobster tail. That lobster was SOOOOO salty, it burned my tongue. I was incredibly disappointed!! I didn't eat needless to say. I am taking it home in hopes to wash it and see if it's salvageable. Won't be back. read more

I feel robbed. Pictured.. The Tuna "TOWER" (mixed, but NO bites taken before this picture..) We were shocked to the point of laughter, as we thought it was a joke! Probably a teaspoon of tuna on this plate.. the tuna was half decent.. the rolls are tiny and mediocre. We expressed our concern with our waiter before even taking a bite and he offered no resolution. Insanely overpriced. I would give it no stars if available! Sent my husband out to pick up 2 chicken hibachi dinners . The menu says online comes with soup and salad . Got to the hotel and no soup and salad. We called and they said come back and pick it up so I sent him again , he got there and they said he had to pay for it bc it was not included in the dinner and it clearly says on website that soup and salad is included. So messed up and the manager was screaming at me and saying what do you want me to do ? I said I would like to see on your website where it says that take out don't include a soup or salad , he could not tell me ! This is a tough one bc they do happen to have the freashest tuna tower around Allen but also have the highest and unreasonable prices. I think that's why this business suffers. Ironically if the portions were much larger then the prices would be easier to accept. As much as I go to Gloria's; I've never noticed this sushi spot. Quite nice in size, very clean, not very busy. I came around lunch time. Menu is a decent size; didn't offer some of my favorite nigiri choices; but the menu is decent. I ordered a New Yorker roll that was nice and spicy. And then salmon and yellowtail sushi; and shrimp potstickers. The potstickers were good and the salad that came with it was amazing. The sushi was tasty; nothing spectacular but fresh atleast. The roll combinations are the same as everywhere else; so nothing truly stands out. I didn't try the hibachi; but it looks delicious. Price point here is definitely higher than some other places I've gone. Portions are decent; service was good. All in all the experience was decent. The food's not bad; just doesn't offer anything to where I'd want to come back all the time. read more

Tried this place for the first time this evening. We did not have hibachi but ate from the menu. The very sweet waitress took our order for a family of four and three of the orders came out wrong. The fourth order didn't come out until well after the others had been served. I'm pretty sure the waitress forgot the fourth order then went back and put it in after. When the fourth order came out, the filet mignon was room temp, and the vegetables were refrigerator cold. The fried rice was not what you would expect - in texture or flavor. The noodles also were not good. All four of us - 17 yo, 21 yo, and my husband and I - give it a thumb's down. Maybe the hibachi is better. We won't find out because we won't be back. read more

Flavorless & mediocre (except for the avocado bomb which was what you would expect for an avocado bomb to be...the avocado bomb was the only thing with any flavor. Sign; says it closes at 9:30. Tried last week to get in at 8:30 & was very rudely told they don't serve after 8:30. Why does the sign say you're closing at 9:30 if you quit serving at 8:30...& according to many of the other reviews that I've read on here kick people out at 9 PM! "Well we need to let our grills cool down and clean up"...Is what they told me. SO CHANGE YOUR WRITTEN HOURS to say we close at 8:30...& I wouldn't have tried at 8:30!! Tried the salmon, the avocado bomb and the Bostonian... The only thing with flavor was the avocado bomb, & The salad that came with it. i'm giving it two stars because all three of the items should've tasted good. Serving sushi without flavor doesn't even make sense. How does sushi not have flavor??? Use some salt or something... I've never anywhere before had bland flavorless sushi. read more

The food was fine, it's a 3.5-4 star restaurant as far as food goes. We went during lunch and the place was dead on a weekday. The prices, however, were outrageous. This isn't the fanciest place out there, nor is it the best, so for a place that was dead empty on a Tuesday for lunch, I was pretty much appalled by the prices on the menu. The pictures menu prices from Yelps photos were NOT what we were given. I don't know if that's a permanent change or what. Every roll was at least $3-4 higher than the photos. The rolls were good. I was happy with what I ordered. But they were way more expensive than every other sushi joint in the area, not presented in any fancy way, and offered nothing better than other restaurants. Shiawase has a way larger menu with far better presentation and a lower price. You can go through my hundreds of reviews and not find a word about price, but this place was ridiculous. Decent hibachi restaurant. The chef is entertaining if you have a full table. We enjoyed seeing him at the full tables interacting and joking with everyone. Not at ours since no one else was at our table. We thought the fried rice and hibachi chicken was good. Our favorite part about this restaurant was the atmosphere with plenty of windows and nice decor. I did think everything was just way too salty. This is a brand new restaurant in the Fairview Town Center directly across from the entrance to the Home2Suites hotel. It is so new it wasn't even on Yelp yet but we took a fly and gave it a blind try (which pretty much never happens). Someone has to be first, right? We paced around out front for a minute spying inside and finally walked in. First of all, it's a beautiful restaurant, very roomy and pretty ambience. Lots of open space between tables. There's both indoor and patio seating. There are 2 hibachi horseshoe shaped tables in the back where the chef cooks your food. There's also a sushi bar and plenty of regular tables. We sat at a regular table. At the moment they are still waiting for their beer/wine license so until it comes in you can bring your own beer and wine, if you like. Call first to see if this is still the case when you go. The service was very attentive, maybe even a tad too attentive because they are so new. About 6 different people asked us if everything was good. They were all very nice! We had a bunch of sushi (yellowtail, tuna, scallop, salmon) and a couple of rolls (tuna/avocado and snow crab California). If you want real crab in your California roll you have to order it specifically otherwise you get a mixture of half crab and half fake crab (like pretty much every other sushi bar nowadays). It was all really delish and the servings were generously portioned. We also had a small salad which was fresh and has traditional ginger dressing. Very yummy. We didn't try any of the hot food but from what we could see on other tables it looked good. A few families with kids were enjoying the fire show at the hibachi tables. WE NEED A SUPPORT GROUP AA ( AKA ANONYMOUS) Yada yada everything normal until food came After I asked for silverware the waiter handed my a fork by the end of the fork you eat with ! I was a shocked and asked for another. I can see I was not the only one the Manager has freaked out on. This "manager" or bouncer just sat right down at the table and starts interrogating me about the second fork while I was eating with my family and after the food came. Instead of trining the employee or apologizing the manager came over and started yelling "get out"!! Can you say someone needs anger management classes asap ! I was shocked and to this day I don't understand what even happened ! I will Never will visit again never. The sushi was mediocre by the way. I'm so disgusted with this violent behavior ! We went there for lunch today and it was not good at all. We had the lunch special chicken with fried rice and vegetables. The chicken was chewy the rice was bland. The prices were way to high. $20.00 for the food, 4.25 for tea and they charged us 5.00 extra for fried rice. Won't be going back there ever. read more

Huge disappointment. Went in with our teenaged kids for a special occasion. The chef at our table was clearly rushing-- he didn't have the typical outfit on and wasn't too enthusiastic. He didn't do a few of the fun tricks they usually do at hibachi places. The food was not great either-- no salt and pepper etc. The veggies were not cooked and he was using the same utensil for raw chicken as he did for the near raw vegetables he put on our plate less than a minute later! The sushi sizes were wayyy too small...they dont put enough rice and the sushi tends to fall apart for this reason also. We ordered the Rainbow roll, eel roll, spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll. All except the shrimp tempura roll had too little rice and they all started to fall apart as soon as i tried to pick them up to eat. Because there wasnt enough rice , it didnt keep the sushi tightly together. The shrimp tempura roll was the worst-the shrimp wasnt crunchy at all, the seaweed was super chewy, and the rice was super sticky/chewy. I dont think ive ever had a shrimp tempura roll like this in which every single component was terrible. The only good thing was the quality of the fish in the rolls we got were good. However, their price was also overpriced compared to other japanese/sushi restaurants in the area that have same quality fish/sushi and are presented much better. Their special rolls were $3-$5 higher than what Ive paid at other sushi places in the same area of the same quality/or better. The sushi here isnt even presented in any special way or anything, and are just wayy too small to top it off and is nothing to justify the pricing. I definitely wont return again. Just didnt think it was worth it considering there are much better options in the area such as Shiwase and Sushi Maru and both have much better options/pricing and better presentation. read more

We stopped here because we saw the sign on our way to the outlets. After shopping we stopped here at around 4:30-4:40. We asked to be seated at a hibachi table and the hostess tried to seat us at a full table that had a whole family(there were only two seats available). We asked for a regular table instead so we would not crowd the family that was already there. They opened another hibachi grill for the couple that had come in right behind us and they did not ask us if we would like to move to the empty hibachi grill. The food was okay. This place had large shoes to feel as my hub and I love trying new sushi places. There were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant on this Thursday night. I guess some ppl called in sick?? I couldnt blame our server for that. The rolls were just meh. I really appreciated that they were bite sized. We got the shrimp tempura roll and spicy crab roll. If you're wanting take out and have children, don't bother. Just go ahead and go a few minutes north to Okada. Went to order 2 adult meals and then when we attempted to order the kids 2 meals to go with it, we were refused. Unlike every other restaurant in this complex and area, they absolutely refuse to allow for you to order for the whole family. Adult Portions only. They will only allow dine-in customers to have kids meals and aren't really that friendly about it. read more

Most horrible sushi I have ever eaten in my life . The shrimp tempura roll has no tempura , sea weed got stuck in the throat and almost ended up choking on it , eel sushi had bones . It was overall a horrible experience. We were the first ones to dine in on a saturday afternoon so really pity the ones eating later on. The price is definitely high for what they offer. Food was very salty and nothing special to talk about. Service was horrible. Our waiter tipped himself more than 15% for his horrible service and sarcastic remarks. After reaching out to the manager, we only received a refund for what was taken from us. No other apologies or compensations for our mishap. I would definitely not recommend this place.
