I love coming here and have come to this location for years. The food was great last night but one thing my entire table noticed about our food... the prices have gone UP and the portion sizes have gone DOWN. Truly one of the most pathetic California rolls I have ever seen. You can get bigger rolls at a grocery store. I know for sure that they used to be bigger and stuffed with more filling. Come on, Blue Fish, do yall think we wouldn't notice? Also, my tuna tower... still delicious but there was absolutely at least 20% less food on my plate than there has been in the past MANY visits over the years. The service was great so I am happy about that. I love the food but yall really need to give us what we are paying for portion-wise. read more

Yummy sushi spot! Wasn't feeling too hungry so just had a small eel roll and shared some apps. The eel roll was alright, I've had better but it's very simple. The karaage had a nice breading and I really liked the kimchi mayo that came with it. Pretty unique as most places just have sriracha mayo. The ahi tuna tacos were also very good flavor wise, but wasn't expecting them to be so tiny when they brought it out. read more

We've been coming to Blue Fish for almost 18 years so obviously we like it! This place is a regular for us and something the whole family enjoys. We have come to know Khoa the manager over time and it feels great to be recognized and visit. Tonight's visit was exceptional, the waiters Kailey and Randy were awesome, Khoa stopped by to make suggestions on new items which we liked and will order again. Great atmosphere! Visited at 11:30 on a very quiet Tuesday. Restaurant was pretty empty, sign out front advertised 2 for 1 lunch specials. I decided to get takeout for two and walked into the lobby to place my takeout order. Lunch specials were offered to patrons who dined in and ordered a beverage. The sign out front was a little misleading then...but I decided to go ahead and order a take out lunch for two. I stood at the front of the restaurant for ten minutes before being acknowledged. Finally, I placed my order and took a seat to wait. Thirty five minutes later, my order was ready. I watched the kitchen while I waited and only one other order was served while I waited. It was also a takeout order and the woman who picked it up returned a few minutes later because her order was incorrect. I double checked my order when it was ready and everything was in order. We enjoyed our lunches (Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki Bento boxes) and found our food to be well packaged and portions were quite generous, especially for a lunch portion. Good food, not so great service. This reviewer cannot give a whole hearted recommendation for patrons who expect to be greeted and served in a timely manner. read more

FOOD - Beef Bulgogi Bento - Came withe tempura, beef bulgogi, salad, orange, rice, and California roll. Definitely a great portion size to get a bit of everything. I really liked the beef bulgogi. The beef wasn't too tough which is good and it had a lot of flavor. The tempura in the bento box was extra crispy and yummy. Everything else in the bento box had phenomenal flavor and would definitely come back for lunch to grab another bento box! - Crabmeat Dynamite Roll - California Roll topped with snow crab mix, mushrooms and onions, and volcano sauce. The volcano sauce was a bit on the heavier side and definitely very rich and creamy, but yummy. This roll melts in your mouth and tastes so yummy! Would highly recommend to those that aren't too big a fan on raw fish but also super good overall! One of my favs to get here! read more

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but what happened at The Blue Fish in Allen last night was shocking, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. My fiancée and I went on Wednesday because they advertise a "Two-for-One Sushi" promotion. At first, I asked if I could place a to-go order and still get the deal. The manager came over and rudely told us it was "dine-in only." Fine--so we chose to dine in. After being seated, ordering drinks and appetizers, I asked our server how the promotion actually works. Only then did we learn that the "two-for-one" applies only to a few very basic sushi pieces--not to rolls, not to sashimi. Misleading, but I accepted it. We ordered mostly rolls knowing they weren't included, plus one order of sushi that was part of the promotion. While still eating, I asked to add one tuna sushi and one salmon sushi--which were part of the eligible promotion. The same manager came back to our table and, again very rude, told me I couldn't order more because I hadn't finished all my rolls and had one piece of sushi left from my earlier order. I have never had a restaurant try to control what I'm allowed to order--especially with my bill already at $125. When I decided to just get the check and leave, I asked for a box for the few leftover pieces (only one of which was sushi from the promotion). The manager refused, saying I could not take the leftovers home. I told him that wasn't legal--if I paid for it, it's mine. He became even more aggressive, raised his voice, and told us to leave through the back door, not the front. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by any restaurant staff, anywhere. This was easily the worst customer service I've experienced in years. The manager's behavior--rude, confrontational, and refusing both my order and my paid leftovers--is completely unacceptable and borderline unlawful. We will never return, and I strongly encourage ownership to address this manager's behavior before more customers are treated this way. read more

Visited Blue Fish on a rainy day with few customers but we were still given awesome service. Our server Joshua was very attentive and kind. I had ordered Toro and Uni nigiri. The sushi chef had decided he wasn't comfortable serving uni because it was not as fresh as he would have liked. I appreciated the honesty and not being served the uni anyways. I definitely will be back great prices and quality. I have tried other places with the same seasonal options, charge much higher prices for a single piece of nigiri/sashimi. Omg YUM! Had the jalapeño appetizer for starters and it was such a hit! Think California roll with eel sauce and a slight kick from the jalepeno. It tasted so fresh and so amazing! I had the Shark Bait roll. Honestly best (cooked) sushi I've had in a long time. My friend got spicy tuna and although I didn't try it, she loved it and raved about it. Got there at around 1:30 and they close at 2 before opening for dinner- which we didn't know before hand but the staff was great about it and service was 10/10. We were the only two in there and rushed to be sure the staff could close on time but the vibes were cute and the location is STUNNING. Next time we will def sit on the patio. As much as I come to Watters Creek, this was my first time trying Blue Fish. This seemed like a family friendly restaurant. I saw online they had a happy hour on some food so after my son was done playing at the playground, we came to eat here. We sat on the patio and the girl said happy hour is only at the bar but clearly I had my child so we couldn't sit there. I asked if they would honor food happy hour and they wouldn't or else they would have to for everyone. Why not just make happy hour on patio also for people who can't sit at bar? Not very considerate. I've been to others that were happy to honor it. For food, I tried the california roll and that was decent. I also tried the Philadelphia roll and it was ok. read more

This place is in a great area. So many things to do! You can walk around to shop or if you're in the mood for dessert you can visit the gelato creamery next door. The service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and made great recommendations. The ambiance is nice! The bar area is surround by cool blue LED lights, and the dining area is surrounded by windows, so you can see the shops outside. The food was amazing! We ordered 2 rolls: 1. Sundae Roll 5/5 - Shrimp tempura, cream cheese, snow crab mix, topped with crabstick, mayo, sriracha and eel sauce 2. Sobe (South Beach) Roll 5/5 - Salmon, crabstick, shrimp, avocado, nasago, wrapped in cucumber, vinaigrette The fried rice: was amazing! So much flavor! Highly recommend checking this place. Service was good, no complaints. Food quality was mediocre. For our appetizer we had the tuna tower, and it was good. Entrees: my wife ordered the Waygu beef, I ordered Chicken Katsu. Waygu Beef was too fatty and hard to chew - not at all what it should be (and $39 for four slices of gristle is steep). Flavor ok. Chicken Katsu was good, not great. Chicken a bit dry, sauce too heavy on the vinegar side (or something that tasted like vinegar). Will not return as there are many other choices that are much better in the area. read more

The worst service EVER!!!!! The manager was frazzled and He looks stressed. He didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink and said I'll bring you waters. He brought us our waters and we asked him if we can order the appetizer. A different lady brought us our appetizer and I had to ask her for silverware, in which she brought us chopsticks. We were sitting there for 30 minutes while the table who came after us started eating their meal. We said something that we don't have a server. Everybody walked past us and looked at us like we didnt exist. All they said was sorry she's coming and gave us the appetizer bill and that was that. What a delicious Birthday Meal we shared, from presentation to last bite. Of all of our favorite restaurants Cynthia chose Blue Fish for her birthday and we were not disappointed. We started with the Rock Manhattan Sushi Roll that was full of fresh flavors and textures, very satisfying. Grilled Shishito Peppers with Lemon Juice, Sesame oil and sea salt complimented the Rock Manhattan Sushi Roll, so tasty with every bite adding more hints of heat and grilled flavor. So as we're deciding what to share next, our eyes captured the Korean section and we had to have Beef Bulgogi with the Chapchay Glass Noodles, stir fried to perfection with vegetables and Kimchee Fried Rice with Bulgogi and egg completed our meal. This is my new favorite sushi place. Their truffle salmon is legitimately amazing. Also they have a bowl that is called spicy chicken and I was pretty surprised how good that was. We tried a lot of sushi rolls as well and my personal favorite is the Hawaiian roll. Only complaint? They have two separate entrances and they are constantly opening and closing due to how busy they are. Winter time ... it is cold inside so bring a jacket! read more

Terrible customer service. AVOID!! The manager/owner harassed my family and I for bringing French fries for my toddler even though I had called ahead to ensure it was ok to do so. When I told her I had called and was told it was fine, she said "that's a lie" and proceeded to argue how bringing outside food was a health violation- when not 5 mins later the same manager brought plates for another family to enjoy their Nothing Bundt cakes. She was unprofessional, disrespectful, and belligerent. The food is subpar but we used to come often because of the great service and the outdoor seating now with the terrible manager that has taken over and goes out of her way to make people feel unwelcome and applying her "food policy" inconsistently- We're never coming back. read more

Good sushi restaurant in the area. Rolls are decent size and filled with fish instead of rice & cucumbers. The prices are high compared to other sushi restaurants in the area, but it's in a really nice area so that's probably why. Service was fast during lunch, and I felt welcomed right when I walked in. Poke bowl had a lot of fish (I got salmon and spicy tuna), with avocado and seaweed. The sauce was overpowering though since the rice was pretty much drenched in it. One of my favorite food stops in Allen... usually after some retail therapy at the Allen Outlets right across the street. The service is always excellent and very attentive and the food is consistently great! I'm a big fan of the soft shell crab plate...all the crab you can stand. The Yellowtail Heaven is divine as well as their House Salad. The decor is simple and nice but inviting. There's a lot of space so you're not on top of anyone which is nice even when they do get busy. I think I just talked myself into another trip :-) read more

Literally stood at the door while the guy at the host station played around with his computer. He greeted us and then continued to play in his computer, the place was virtually empty with a few tables on the patio and one table of folks inside. I didn't see any reason why we couldn't be seated at a table. We stood at the door for about 6 minutes while he fooled around with his screen, he then got up called out "hola" to the sushi chef and proceeded to talk to him in Spanish, then he returned to his computer. I interrupted his screen time and asked him why we weren't being seated and to tell him how rude it is to have folks stand at the door when there are open tables. He then said he could get us seated, but after waiting that long to be seated in a mostly empty restaurant we decided to go somewhere else.
