Mostly extended weekends when everyone is back in town to see family and friends. During the day, week, and a lot of weekends, it's just your typical less populated dive. They only accept cash, so you have to be prepared for that, but the drinks are ridiculously cheap and they don't skimp on the pour to make up for it. Cocktails... not really their specialty. This place is used to beer drinking regulars and people who want their liqueur straight up. They'll make you one, just don't have high expectations because this is not that kind of bar. There is a pool table and bar food. No full kitchen so the menu isn't overly impressive, but booze is more of their specialty. The staff is older and can be kind of crotchety, but that's usually if it's one of the crazy nights that all these young kids randomly show up. They weren't that kind of bar, I don't think the staff knows why these kids keep coming back, and they are slowly learning to embrace it. If you're a laid back person, looking for a cheap drink and a random conversation with a stranger at the bar, this is your kind of place. I've met some really off the wall folks and the regulars can keep you entertained for hours if you strike up a conversation with one... don't expect half of their tales to be true, but enjoy the ride.

So we went for two orders of burnt ends, expecting that rich, crispy texture. Instead, they were soft, smushy, and cold -- more like baby food than BBQ. Not good at all. The only standout dish was the corn cream cheese side -- warm, flavorful, and probably the best part of the meal. Also worth mentioning: the bartender was great -- super cool and clearly passionate. The place itself has a chill, loungey vibe, but it doesn't really feel like a true BBQ joint. They've screwed up my order 3 times in the last 5 visit. When you call to complain, they offer to comp you for the part of the order they messed up. They give you the third degree, as if you're scamming them instead of complaining about their screwup. The second time I got a comp, they remade the order and screwed it up again on the remake! The guy at the counter attempted to argue it with me and then asked me to sign in the comp book for another comp. I had absolutely no problems here from July of 2020 to January of 2021. Not sure what changed since then. But if this happens again, we won't come in anymore. I should have been offered extra food on the remake, not argued with. Wow! Got instantly seated as soon as we arrived!! Our waiter was amazing and took our drink orders right away! Quick as can be we got our drinks in 1 minute! Amazing timing because I was thirsty! As soon as she set down our drinks she took our food orders. We were pretty hungry so we got an Angry Bird, Rice (without the seasoning), and the Chicken Tempura Appetizer and Roll. My husband and I went for the first time today, and it is far better than our "regular" sushi restaurant in Ann Arbor. We had a Shrimp Tempura roll and one of the California rolls. The shrimp was so very good with tons of shrimp and they were BIG. The California roll had a very large piece of crab meat and some yummy crunchy veggies. We will definitely go back again!!
