I went to Akame Sushi with a few friends on a Saturday around 5. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken quickly. You get to order your food from a tablet that has descriptions and pictures of all of the food. It's really easy and convenient. AUCE for $35.99 is the only dinner option. The food was all delicious and fresh. The beef fried rice is the best I've had in years. The beef teriyaki was excellent as well as their rolls. The shrimp was large and salmon was fresh. This location is new, clean, and serving fresh flavor filled food! -------- The downside is I had called ahead to confirm they could serve someone with a gluten and dairy allergy and was told yes and that they had a gluten free menu. They do indeed have a gluten free menu, but there seem to be some kinks in the ordering process or holes in knowledge of what contains gluten as I was served multiple dishes with gluten. I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone with a severe gluten allergy or celiac. read more

Went for lunch. To eat inside you must order the all you can eat! We don't eat as much as we used to and don't need to gorge for lunch. So this place is not for you if you are not a big eater. Secondly the rolls were very loosely rolled and fell apart while dipping. The avocado was very fresh, however, the flavors were just so so. The spicy crab and tuna were bland. You have to ask for every condiment and napkins. You have to try to flag someone down for assistance. Since it was falling apart we needed extra napkins and they brought 1. The wings came with no sauce at all. They were getting cold before I could get someone's attention. I'm excited that Kenosha has another place for sushi! My sister and I stopped by for AYCE and were surprised by how big the menu was. They had appetizers like takoyaki, and shumai, sashimi, specialty rolls, hand rolls, hibachi, dessert, and more! Ordering was super easy as you're able to place your order on an Ipad. We ordered a variety of specialty rolls, hand rolls, appetizers, sashimi, and dessert! The rolls were overall good and were super filling (the speciality rolls come with 6-8 pieces). The sashimi was good as well, but the pieces were small, which wasn't a problem at all since you could always order more haha! The takoyaki and shumai were also good as well, though I wasn't a huge fan of the texture of the shumai (personal taste). The service was incredible! New place that opened 5 months ago. Everything I ate was amazing which I will list below. The menu is gigantic. $35 for dinner. Only AYCE for dinner option. Nice ambiance. Not super upscale but nice. Good service that wasn't really necessary as you order via the iPad & the food gets delivered. Super Delicious food: All of the nigri sushi. Especially surf clam. Must try Takoyaki Shrimp tempura Beef sashimi Beef habachi was cooked perfectly & very juicy. This is a true rarity at a Japanese AYCE. You must try this. Fried scallops, good, not great Beef teriyaki Just ok food: Green tea ice cream & red bean ice cream. The flavor was weak. But good enough as a desert ending. The mango shrimp flavor was weak so try the other variety, they have a few. Pro tip: -Note that once your order goes through the order gets greyed out & so you can check your new order. Great place for Sushi. Located next door to Petco. Ambiance is awesome, and all staff are wonderful and polite. The all you can eat is pretty cool because you can get small portions of anything on the menu. I had the teriyaki chicken don, Fried chicken wings, fried scallop, sushi Alvacado Sweet potato roll, and fried shrimp tempura. Not a fan of the texture of the chicken don. But it was tasty. Fried chicken wasn't cooked all the way. They didn't have must in taste overall. But were crunchy. The roll was very good. Scallops was good, but nothing spectacular. I'd still order them again. Tempura was right on the money with the sauce. Loved the crunch. I had the raspberry tea, but I loved the metal cup as it kept my drink nice and cold. Ordering is a breeze from the tablet like most places nowadays. There are 5 TVs. There is plenty of seating, but no bar seating. Mostly booths for 4. Spacing between booth and table are too far apart in my opinion. However, they have these nice pillows in each booth stools. There are larger tables though. The decor over all is very nice. Looks like they have wine, but I don't see anything else in regards to liquor. Overall a nice lunch on a Saturday. I'll be back to try more stuff. With a 4.7 star rating, I thought I would find great sushi. Alas, this was more like a gas station sushi with lots of variety. The tuna wrapped in rice and seaweed was mushy. The flavor was "off" on most dishes. The fish was sliced very thin. Yes, it was all you can eat, but this sushi did not compare to any sushi I've had elsewhere. FINALLY - REAL SUSHI IN KENOSHA. Admittedly I am a transplant from LA so I fully admit I was spoiled rotten on my sushi for most my life. Moving here we quickly tried the options in town. Ono is overpriced and has a microscopic menu with limited options and they serve white tuna (fake farm fish). Sooshi Bay has the worst fish I've ever eaten anywhere in the US. Honada is serviceable at best and their sushi usually has weird coloring and they yellowtail is abysmal. Akame checked all of those boxes. The vibe here was modern, clean, and upscale. Their menu is tablet ordering right at the table. I know they are only in their soft opening phase so, even though they had the most options I've seen so far, I do hope that they continue to grow the menu and explore more options (get some damn jalapenos in there guys). But when our fish arrived everything was perfect. The color of every fish was perfect. The smells were perfect. The flavor was delicious. My only criticism, and it could just be user error with the tablet ordering, is I couldn't figure out how to get the spicy mayo off my rolls. Service was incredible.
