Well, the menu is pretty hit or miss in that it changes so often you never know if they'll have what you want. Example, we wanted to order a ramen that had h chicken on the menu like last time that was not there the first time we wanted to try the place and again today it is gone. Filipino-owned! Represent! We've only ordered ramen here, but have been really excited about the quality and flavors. This is the best ramen in the area. I have had the Garlic Bomb Ramen, and it did not disappoint. Any garlic lovers out there will appreciate the balance of the different types of garlic that permeate in every bite. I added a bit of spice to kick up the flavors another notch. I would get this again, but I need to try the other flavors first. My son got the Tonkotsu Ramen and was blown away by the flavors. He's not usually a broth drinker, but he made the exception here! We haven't had the chance to dine in here yet, but based on our multiple experiences over the phone, online, and in the pick up process, everyone has been helpful and kind. When we do get a chance to sit down, we'll make sure to come early, because the dining room here is always full! We stumbled in here after paddleboarding feeling mighty hungry. We were seated promptly and served water. We started with an order of gyoza and had Miso Porky Miso and Our Tonkotsu. The gyoza is what you'd expect of any gyoza. Miso Porky Miso packed a full punch of flavor...like very flavorful. I drank a lot of water. The Tonkotsu also packed a lot of flavor, but more balanced. This is my 3rd review of RamenDoBo Noodle Bar. I had just gotten done doing chores around the house and finished mowing my lawn and I was dripping in sweat and was seriously craving authentic Japanese ramen. It was 7:45 pm on a Thursday night and the closest acceptable ramen joint was in Schaumburg and I was way too tired to make that haul from Crystal Lake, so I decided to give RamenDoBo another shot. As you read in my previous reviews I've already tried the Tonkatsu and Double the Flavor ramens bowls and both were unimpressive and quite frankly I've been turned off by the ramen noodle dishes from here and for the past 2 years I've steered away the ramen here and only eaten the rice dishes as they are actually really good. But at last, my belly was yelling "feed me ramen!" I arrive at the restaurant and it's my first time actually sitting down at the restaurant and there are a few people at the restaurant and it's quite empty. The waitress seats me and hands me a menu. I bite the bullet and my head is screaming don't get the ramen, you'll be utterly disappointed but my belly is kicking back saying you need it. Ugh, I give into my belly's extreme urges and need to make the decision to either go with Garlic Bomb or the Miso Porky Miso. My thinking behind this is that if I get the garlic bomb at least the broth will have some sort of garlic flavor behind it, and if I get the Miso then again, the broth will have that umami salty miso flavor, so I hope... I digress and reluctantly order the Miso Porky Miso Spicy. I've a stickler for authentic Japanese ramen and I've dined at Ramen-san in downtown Chicago and I've eaten at Ippudo in NYC where they make fresh ramen noodles in front of you. I know my ramen. My next journey is to Tokyo, yes I travel for food. I break my ramen reviews into 4 parts. The first being the broth as that's the most important part of any noodle soup dish. If you don't have good broth, then you don't have good soup. I get my dish and I make sure to mix everything up to get the miso paste all mixed into with the broth and get the toppings and noodles mixed in together. Then I take my first sip... What was this? What's going on here? This is not what I've previously had before from this place. The broth actually tasted delicious. I was unsure and I went in for another dip. I slurped up the broth one more time just to make sure. HOLY COW! This was good. The broth actually had that deep pork collagen flavor profile that one craves for when eating and enjoying ramen. This was exactly what my stomach was yearning for. The spicy miso paste mixed perfectly with the broth to create an excellent rich umami flavored dish. Next up are the noodles and as you may have read from my previous reviews I'm just not a big fan of the thin noodles they use. It has the thickness of vermicelli noodles and I just prefer my noodles to be a bit thicker but to each their own. The next part is the protein and the ground pork was very good and seasoned perfectly. Last but not least are the toppings that go into the ramen dish. Everything from the bean sprouts, to the green onions was was fresh and provided a nice crunch texture in the ramen. The egg was cooked and seasoned perfectly, not over done and hard and not underdone and runny. Overall this specific ramen dish rocks. Kuddos to RamenDobo for hitting a home run with this bowl. RamenDoBo went from a 2 star review, to a 3 star review, and now made it all the way up to 4 stars and deservingly so. I will now add this bowl to my rotation of things that I will order from RamenDoBo. Congratulation, on 'stepping up' your ramen game. Maybe it's always been up there and I didn't figure it out until now, who knows? But I'm glad I decided to give them another shot. Keep on creating great meals and my only advise is please do not get rid of the Rice DoBowl dish. I tried ordering this last time and last I heard you removed this from the menu. This is truly one of my favorite dishes and it would be a real shame if no one else gets to sample this wonderful dish. read more

From service to the food, everything here is immaculate. I eat here once a week and some weeks it's the highlight of the entire week. It's that good. I get the spicy Taiwan bowl with a soft boil egg added on the side, and there's really nothing as good as that around here in Cary. I've always had the staff be so polite and kind, even if they're busy. And of course, I've never had a bad meal from them. TLDR: New place just opened up early February. Cozy inside, with friendly staff, and an open kitchen. Limited food options but was good, the gyoza were homemade and fresh tasting. Ramen was ok, if not on the small portion size. I do recommend giving it a shot to see for yourself how it is. And I plan to be back to try other options. A new ramen bar that recently opened up in the area. I believe its the only one in McHenry county so far. First impression is nice and clean inside, very open and you can see everything happening. Has a good vibe when one first walks in, is kinda small so it fills up fast. Lots of "bar seats" and a few tables for 4 people but most are "2 person table" Service 4.5/5: I was greeted and seated promptly. Water was brought out in a cute bottle you could pour into your glass. And the waitress explained their Soft opening menu which was pretty limited. She came by at good intervals and wasn't overly hovering like some places can get. Dishes were cleared as items were finished and it was really easy to pay as they had a card reader that came to your table when you were ready to pay. Food 4/5: I have mixed opinions in this one. Since it was the soft opening, menu items were limited you had option between spring rolls or gyoza for an appetizer, chicken or pork Ramen (spicy or mild ; regular or large size), a rice bowl and some desserts. I started out with gyoza which were pretty delicious, the ingredients inside tasted pretty fresh to the point I believe they were hand made very recently. The only down side is they were deep fried instead of pan fried or steamed. However, that would not stop my from ordering them again. They were phenomenal. I did not order the spring rolls, but I did see them in another table first impression of those looked small, but they also looked fresh and like they would taste good too. The next option we had was the choice between 2 types of ramen or a rice bowl, however the rice bowel was out for the night, leaving me a choice of pork or chicken ramen. I ended up with a spicy chicken at regular size ($9). For me spice is arbitrary and I found it not really spicy at all. The taste was good, however portion wise was on the smaller side. I recommend just paying the extra 3$ for the large to get a good filling portion. If I had bot had the appetizer, the regular would have still left me hungry. All in all the food was good, and I may find myself wandering back in, since they are new and the whole menu hasn't been released yet i'm sure it'll get better and only has room to improve! I do recommend to give this place a try, and go with the large portion over the regular. I will be back to try the other things on the limited menu and then hopefully in no time the whole menu will be available to explore! read more

We have been here about 6 times over the last year. Tonight 1 of our meals was terrible and only took about 4 bites. Once the waiter finally came around, we were ready to leave by the time he came by, we told him about the poor dish. They offered to take off 50% which I guess is better than nothing. We ordered the Edamame and Twice Cooked Egg for starters. For entrees we got the Our Tonkotsu and Tonkatsu Tonkatsu what's the difference? Stopped here today after work, and ordered my dinner to go. The staff was extremely friendly and took my order promptly. I had the, "Garlic Bomb" ramen, and the seaweed salad. The ramen DEFINITELY had garlic flavor, which was great! It was on the broth, on top with little crunchies, and there was fresh garlic, too. The pork was not your typical boiled pork that is tossed in. Instead, it had a charred (not sure if this is the word I'm looking for) flavor, and was so juicy. I definitely recommend this flavor of ramen! The seaweed salad was good. It was mixed with a chili oil. While the oil added a unique flavor to the salad, there was a bit too much. This made the dish too oily for my taste. Overall, I'm glad that we moved to close to a tasty ramen spot, and I will definitely be back to try other items on their unique menu! read more

The ramen is good. Very good take out option as they package it up very well. During covid their hours varied a lot. Sometimes we would show up and they wouldn't be open. I'm guessing staffing problems. Totally understandable. Now it seems they are on a more predictable schedule. Ambiance is good, could be better. In the winter by the front door it's very cold but unavoidable in their space. I wish they had more beverage and appetizer/side options, then we'd go more often. Most excellent ramen and service! Contender for favorite ramen in Chicagoland after trying RamenDoBo. They have the thin noodles (in pork ramens, curly ramen in chicken), and do Yokohama style ramen. Both the original tonkatsu and Garlic Bomb were great, broth wasn't too salty or rich, and very tasty. Egg was perfectly cooked for ramen as well, left whole (not half). If you're gluten free, they also have a Hawaiian pork bowl which was very good. Service was excellent and friendly. We learned the chef was trained in Yokohama so explains why the ramen was awesome. We heard a lot of great things about RamenDoBo so we decided to come check it out. They are open for dine in and we were pleased with how they are handling everything with COVID. The staff and manager, Debbie provided great customer service! The gyoza & spring rolls were delish and we wanted more. The spring rolls are mini - if you're looking to indulge don't order these and be upset with the size and pricing. These were really tasty and my wife could have ate the whole thing, haha! Ramen was good, it was a great portion size (I'm a ramen fanatic) and yes it could use a little more flavoring but it was still very, very good! We ordered the Kahula Rice bowl to go (pregnancy cravings) for later ;) and it looks great. Come check out this place and support small business! After finding RamenDoBo recommended in a Reddit thread, I decided to go there last night for my husband's and my weekly date night. Holy freakin' buckets, it did not disappoint. It's small inside but good for small groups. They have Coke products along with some signature Japanese drinks. My husband got what was essentially a grape soda. The highlight of my night was watching him figure out how to open it! We ordered the edamame as an appetizer and it was deliciously seasoned. We also both ordered the Garlic Bomb (a best seller). Mine was mild, his was spicy. Oh man. It was so. freaking. delicious. The broth was so rich and flavorful. The pork was falling apart. The noodles were plentiful. I'm not really a ramen connoisseur, but I appreciate a yummy bowl of food. And this was that. The mild had literally no spice, which was fine by me. My husband said the "spicy" had a nice heat to it. Next time we go, I might see if they could add just a little bit of spice to mine. I'm so excited to have this place not far from my home and even MORE excited to dine on some delicious, hot ramen in the winter months when I need to warm up! I understand they're still in "soft opening" mode but when I chat someone via their Facebook business page that morning to ask their hours and they confirm they're open 5-8pm and then I arrive At 635pm that evening to a closed sign on the door, it's pretty frustrating. Especially since the sign says their new ramen cooker arrived last night so they should have known they'd be closed today. My husband and I love Ramen. Growing up in a Japanese household, going to Mitsuwa and having Ramen from the food court, was just another weekend. We were so excited to hear about this restaurant as out in the Dundee area, there just is no good Ramen restaurants around, unless you go to Arlington Heights, downtown Chicago, Mt Prospect, etc. Until now... When we got to the restaurant we were greeted by the owner's wife, who was super genuine, nice, and very inviting. We had the double fried egg, which was perfectly cooked, soft and runny in the middle, which is hard to do well. For the entree we had the garlic bomb ramen and Tonkatsu Tonkatsu ramen, both were amazing. you can tell the broth was made with preciseness and time, as it was the right consistency, creamy to the palate, and just the right amount of flavor and thankfully no MSG! If you are out in the Cary area, it is worth a stop in! My 1 year old son ate it for the first time and loved the noodles. Great food, nice and genuine owners, we will definitely be back! I had heard great things about this place so I needed to try it. They had this cool drink called pocari sweat and it was advertised to hydrate you with electrolytes when you're sweating your ramen. Weird but so yummy. Then the seaweed salad was my app and it was delicious they added chili oil so had a nice kick to it. I got the garlic bomb and my boyfriend got the Kahlua (pineapple one) we both got spicy and it was so good!! The spice was heavier on his Kahlua so if you can't handle heat I would recommend not getting spicy. The service was great. Can't wait to get this place again.
