I can't believe I've never written a review of this place! We started coming here almost weekly back in 2016 when we moved to the area but now it's not as often because we live further away. We have enjoyed both the dine-in and take out experiences! This is your typical track style sushi restaurant. You can easily grab the rolls you want from your seat. Specialty rolls and most non-roll dishes do need to be ordered. Lots of tasty options (from basic to what I consider to be adventurous), food is well made and fresh, I see them constantly walking around putting fresh plates down to replenish what's being consumed. Staff is pretty helpful, restaurant is clean, and prices are super reasonable. I have yet to have a disappointing visit. read more

In terms of conveyor belt sushi, I'm a fan. I've only ever dined in once, and the rest of the time has been take out orders, but they always get my order right, service is fast and friendly, and they really accommodate to the things you request. I've worked at a sushi belt before and know the quality of it, so is this sushi the best I've ever had? Definitely not. Does it earn a 4/5 for a sushi belt establishment? I would say so. The atmosphere is a bit dull when sitting inside. The lighting is strange and there is way too much open area up front, but the belt is simple and easily accessible. When I dine in/take out, I usually don't take/order things off of the belt. My main orders are unagi, yellowtail, salmon skin rolls, seared salmon, and handrolls. The fish tastes pretty good. I've never had a problem with it, and I really like how generous of cuts they do. For the price, you can't find another sushi conveyor belt place that cheap, besides Sushiland, but I'd rather not take my chances there. I usually like to judge sushi places by their krab salad, and the one here is pretty good. It's not too drowned in mayo, and they don't over stuff the rolls with too much of it. I end up getting a ton of food WITH leftovers, that total up to only about $12 for a whole meal. What I've seen lately, is conveyor belt places starting to charge $3.00-$4.00 for plates of nigiri, that I could pay for at a higher established sushi restaurant for better quality. Why would I pay so much at a belt place when I could go elsewhere with that money to get better/fresher fish? This isn't the case here! Their prices are fair. People shouldn't come here expecting the world out of the fish here, but for the price, it's very good, and people are kind, and will work hard to get to your request! read more

I really like the special of the day sushi but if it's not hot you want to avoid it because it's deep fried and it just isn't that great cold, we love the poki salmon with the toasted sesame sauce and my husband usually gets the salmon collar. It's okay for what it is. Now, I want to remove the negative stigma that may follow a three star review by explaining that I have the ability to compare it with high end sushi restaurants. I have read a couple of the reviews that are three star and below. The sushi is fresh and good, if you want something that is not revolving, sure you have to order it. Now, it can get busy and the have the owner and the two women that I notice serving and cashing customers out. So yeah, it will be difficult to get to your service at times, but this is not a high end restaurant okay. This is that first used car you got right after getting your license, it's good to get you from A to B. Complaining about the service is like complaining at the McDonald's that shorted you a fry.... What's the point. The prices are fair and reasonable, there is not music, but I never really cared cause I'm there to eat. I don't walk up the Busters BBQ and yell "dang it, I can't digest this food until I hear some banjo music". In reality for the set up it is, it probably deserves a four star review from me. The vinyl ripped fabric on the chairs and the lack of options and quality of the fish really shows how they know they'll get business anyway regardless of the reviews. I have been coming here since it opened a few years back. My view was 4 stars then... I love sushi conveyor belt restaurants since it is pretty much self serve and very quick food. The sushi here is good but the owners are not putting $$$ back into the business. Dirty and old looking containers hold the community wasabi and ginger which has become kinda disgusting. Whoa, not what I expected from an establishment with a 4.5 rating on yelp. The moment you walk in, you're told you can sit anywhere. Um, but where? None of the tables were bused. We had to stand there for 5-7 min waiting for someone to arrive to even bus the table. It seems they leave all the dishes to collect until someone arrives who needs to sit. As I watched them scramble through out my time at the restaurant and many customers asking if their tables could be cleared. Though I realize the rolls may be different since it's not authentically Japanese owned (since I recognized many of the employees were speaking Chinese/Cantonese). I also expected that many rolls are Americanized such as rolls with cream cheese, but some were out of my palate comfort. Like sweet potato fries on sushi doesn't sound amazing to me. Also, some rolls were just strange like a spider roll with asparagus which changes the texture of sushi completely. It was at that point I had to pick out the asparagus and noticed how little soft shell crab I had in the roll. The rice to protein ratio is ridiculous. The highlight of my meal would be the warm sesame balls with red bean in them. But I definitely didn't expect to have such a carb heavy lunch. And of course we waited another 10 minutes, and put our coats on and stand up for us to get our bills. Service was subpar- and sushi was.. maybe not what I'd call sushi more like rice balls? read more

Not sure if it's because we came right before they closed, but based on the ratings here, I was excited to come here hoping to find a new sushi spot close to home and was disappointed by my experience. They had plenty of sushi going around the track still from the day, and I could tell that the sushi had likely been on there for awhile not to be fresh. My husband and I picked a few off the belt and then ordered. When I order sushi, I generally order for fresh sushi, but of course, they grabbed whatever I ordered was available on the belt first before serving us anything fresh. Most of the sushi had way too much rice, were soggy, and lacked flavor. They should consider not over making sushi so that so much extra is on the belt. I also ordered the salmon skin hand roll and was disappointed to find that I was getting salmon skin that was not crispy. Super soggy, way too much sauce, I took one bite and threw the rest away. The shrimp tempura roll was not crispy, and the calamari was reheated from the belt and then served to me which made for not crispy calamari. We might come back to give this place another chance but its unlikely. Staff was friendly, price was reasonable for size, and I liked that you knew what you were getting off the belt because they provided clear signs, but other than that, not that great. read more

My husband and I wanted to try this new place even though some of the reviews weren't very kind. We were able to be seated and the first thing I noticed was that it has this wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. It was clean, all the sushi was fresh and marvelous! So much nicer than other conveyer belt service which we usually go to if we want to wait a half an hour, see how grossly dirty the sushi prep stations were and endure loud people and just a plain noisy atmosphere. There was a special going on but I'd rather pay more and have excellently prepared sushi and a PEACEFUL environment. I am definitely looking forward to going back very soon. I hope the owners do well but on the other hand if it gets really popular and busy I hope it doesn't turn into another fast food sushi place like Sushiland. One thing I have to say is the rice they use doesn't seem like a very good quality kind of rice. The grains seem smaller and the sushi pieces are slightly thinner than other places. read more

I am not a big sushi guy but Akita Sushi is hands down my favorite sushi spot and actually a place I enjoy going to eat at. Discovered on a chance - this locale has become a regular staple in he rotation of places to eat for my crew. The food is offered on a conveyor system and unlike many other sushi places of his type, they have a very wide selection of options to choose from. The food is also so fresh on the conveyor but can also be made fresh to order as well. One of the things we enjoy most about his spot is the staff, they are pretty genuinely and happy in their work and it shows. The main owner - I kick myself for not knowing his name - is pretty fun as well. He will crack a few jokes with you as he check's on you and your needs. All in all this is a nice place to spend your money and fill your belly, you cannot go wrong stopping here. read more

This place has very quickly gone down hill. Anytime I visit, they are so busy they can hardly keep up. I've witnessed customers wait for 10+ minutes for a drink just to get up and leave. They are always out of most popular dishes and when you order them, the servers usually forget and you have to ask multiple times. I'm saddened they aren't what they once were. This is a great spot if you're all about affordable and yummy sushi! The staffs at this place are friendly, but aren't very fluent at English so be patient :) Moving on to cleanliness.. do not have high expectations. I overheard the staffs complaining in Cantonese about how dirty stuff were, for example they haven't cleaned the tea pot in weeks. Yuck! Luckily, I had ordered to-go, but I can not imagine how unsanitary the kitchen must be. The guy taking my order seemed to be a new worker, and had messed up my order sadly with inari instead of unagi, so it went to waste because my family was not a fan. This is hands down the best sushi-go-round I've ever been to. Everything is fresh because they're always busy, so nothing sits for very long! Their nigiri always taste so good and their cuts are always beautifully done with the fat marbling. You can order anything specific or wait for it to pass you on the conveyor belt. Their kitchen foods here are also on point. Their katsu chicken and tempura has the perfect crunch and isn't greasy. For the price and what you get, this place can't be beat. The customer service here is always so friendly. Sometimes I feel bad for the main guy, who will be running around doing everything when nights get unexpectedly slammed. Despite being crazy busy, he is always friendly and attentive when we ask for anything. We come here once a week (at least) and my husband goes to the other location for lunch breaks by his work. When we first walked in a lot of the tables were dirty. Seeing that it looked like we wanted a table they cleaned one for us. Not the neatest looking place or the friendliest, but the sushi was good. Everything tasted fresh and they seem to make it all right there. They have a different version of the rainbow roll where the roll has more like a crab salad rather than the small piece of imitation crab. Sooo good. Their seaweed salad was also good. We stuffed our faces we were sooo full. Probably had 13-15 plates. Total cost with a beer was like $22. Back home I would pay that for one California roll with a seaweed salad, no beer.
