The gym is locked 24/7 and only members or staff have access. This makes me extremely safe and at ease when I'm working out early in the morning or late at night and I am one of the few people at the gym. Although the HotWorx app itself could use some updating I do really like that it shows each level you hit based on how many calories you've burned. I feel like tracking my levels and my calories burned compared to the local leadership board motivates me each time I'm in the gym!

Even though HOTWORX has the same requirements, I don't have to wear my mask when working out. My work out is in an enclosed sauna pod, it's just me. I have tried Hot Cycle (sauna temperature is between 125-130f) a 15 minute exercise that normally isn't to difficult then add the dry heat. It is rough. Like a knucklehead after doing Hot cycle, I then tried hot yoga. Mistake, huge mistake. I nearly passed out about 10 minutes in. Hot yoga is 45 minutes and after doing hot cycle for 15 minutes may have been to much. You need an appointment which is easy thanks to their app and its open 24 hours.

Every exercise is explained in detail and you're spilt in different teams so each station is not over crowded with ppl. First we warm up by stretching afterwards we take our 1/2 mile run/jog then we get right into the exercises. I brought a Groupon to Burn Boot Camp Troy because I was tired of complaining about not having the…read morebody I want. So my Groupon was for a month unlimited classes and I decided to make that month count! The gym is a pretty big space with a huge gym mat flooring in the center, trx bands and boxing bags to the side. It's an all women boot camp so I automatically felt comfortable (no offense guys ). This camp is full of dedicated women from all different strength ranges so you feel comfortable going at your own pace and even daring to push yourself! The women are encouraging when you take the time to hear their stories and hear their reason why they keep coming to class. Bianca is the owner and also a trainer and she instantly makes you feel like one of the Burn Sisters (even though she tries to kill you through her crazy workouts on a daily basis!) She's very involved and hands on and you can tell she puts a lot of thought into the different workouts daily. Which is one of things I love, it never gets redundant there's always something different to push you and you even get the less difficult, most difficult and somewhere in between to help maximize your workout and tailor it to fit you. All the trainers are energetic and you can always get one on one attention to correct your form. They even have an app where you can schedule sessions to get measured and check your progress, and learn the workout focus for the week and more features. There is also Facebook support group where you can also connect. I'm nearing the end of my month long Groupon and I can say without a doubt this is my most favorite workout experience and I've done a few different bootcamps and workouts over the years! Do I groan every day just thinking about going to work out? Yes! Does it still hurt? Yes! Would I rather be somewhere drinking a beer? Yes! If you're looking for a more of a challenge, or have some yoga knowledge of the asanas (what the poses are called in Sanskrit) then I would suggest either their vinyasa flow or hot yoga. Be warned hot yoga is called that for a reason, the room is heated to 95*. The heat of the room allows your muscles and tendons to open up, which allows for greater flexibility and movements. Being a advanced practitioner myself, with nearly a decade of practice. I tend to the more advance classes, and I've taken both the vinyasa and hot classes here at Santosha. I liked both classes but being a teacher myself, I find that my "attachments" get in the way...... If you've ever taken a class, it's likely you know what I'm taking about. What I think is great about this yoga studio is that they truly offer something for everybody- and I mean every BODY. People have this misconception and the stereotype yoga is only for the skinny, female, flexible types. But it's not true. Yoga is truly for every body type. You don't have to be flexible, be able to touch your toes or ever learn an arm balance or inversion (if you want to though, that's welcome!). Yoga is about being present. Letting go of the past and not worrying or obsessing over the future. Santosha is a very welcoming yoga studio. The teachers are patient, encouraging and knowledgeable in their specific classes. Like I said this yoga studio truly offers classes for every level of practitioners. From first timers, beginners to advance practitioners or even people with limited mobility or injuries (chair yoga offered!). There is a class for you. If you're looking to expand your yoga practice, they offer yoga teacher training here. Whether you just want to learn more about yoga- the history/lineage/8 limbs etc., take your practice deeper or if you're looking to become a teacher yourself. Then you could take YTT and get your 300/500 hours in. Drop in classes are $16, which is great. A lot of other studios these days are charging $20-$25 for 1 class. If you want to save even more money buy a pack of classes, or get an unlimited month or multiple month package. Be sure to bring everything your personal items- mat, water bottles and towels (for vinyasa and hot yoga), but know that they do provide props, should you need them. This workout is exactly the kind I look forward to. All movements are targeted, intentional, and do not strain your joints, as you are actively working against your own body weight. She consistently reminds you of your breath work and why it's important. Membership can be on the pricier side but it's the only workout I know I will stick to.

I appreciated that the front desk and shopping area was separated by a door, so the studio where you work out was more private. Class wasn't interrupted by front desk answering phone or greeting a member like it has been at other studios. Plenty of space to store your stuff during class. Studio was also clean. Music was good and at a good volume. Equipment was in excellent condition. Class was just challenging enough for a Level 1. Sometimes I'm worried it'll be too easy when I go down a level (I'm experienced with Pilates), but it wasn't too easy. I'll be back here for more classes!!
