This was supposed to showcase just how delectable their grilled cheese is, but I made it look unappetizing. I swear it's the best!

Quality lil diner! We like coming here on our lunch break since the service is always quick and super friendly, and the food is reliably good. The family who owns Alea is so sweet. We usually sit outside on their spacious patio, and they bring the food out to us. I have to specifically shout-out their grilled cheese, which is just, like... the perfect diner grilled cheese. It's got THE MOST buttery bread I've ever had, which isn't everyone's cup of tea (the whole sandwich is literally moist with butter) and it can be a little rich, but that's diner food! It really hits the spot. They also have great fries here, give you plenty of sauces on the side for no extra charge, and also have that exact perfect balance of water to soda in their soda dispenser, so their Dr Pepper is some of the best I've ever had. It's typical diner food--yes, they've raised prices in accordance with inflation, which is unavoidable, but it's a great casual spot to come for lunch or dinner.

Chicken Caesar salad. Looks soggy and the dressing was a lot runnier. Chicken Caesar Salad

I have been ordering Chicken Caesar salad, for almost two years, from Alea's cafe. But the last two orders have been a complete disappointment. I'm not sure what changed, but the dressing has been a lot more runny and the mayonnaise taste over powers the whole meal. The greens taste like it's been sitting on water the whole time and the quantity was much more. This is definitely not the original recipe. $14.00 salad no longer worth it.

I love this place! I've been coming here for years. Catherine and Nicko always take care of me and the kids whenever I come in. If you have not been here, you should definitely stop by and try out this Jem!!

    Over priced

$22 for a double bacon cheeseburger combo. That's about $5 more than most. Burger was good (bun was the most impressive part) fries and seasoning salt were also good but the ranch was pretty weak.

I just love this place. I mainly go on Sundays. I go after church. At first I went there because it was near by. Didn't have to drive far and then get in line. So I mainly eat breakfast here. I have my favorites. But mainly the big breakfast. With a freshly squeezed OJ. Yes that's a bit more But it's worth it. The Big Breakfast consist of 2 eggs cooked the way you like it. I get them over easy. Yes I like to pop the yoke. Sausage or Bacon. Or half and half. Choice of hash browns or country potatoes. I get hash browns. And they always cook them percent. Not burnt or still raw. That doesn't happen here. Then you have a choice bread. Toast white or wheat, Rye, sourdough and English Muffin. Off course I get the English Muffin. It comes buttered. And they always bring you some jam. But it's not done yet. You get 3 nice size pancakes. Yes. It will fill you up. Now I have had the pastrami burger. It was ok for me. I did prefer their pastrami melt. They have a sandwich but it comes with no cheese. They grill their pastrami here. Not boil it like at the Hat. Taste much better. They serve menudo on the weekends. I SE people order that a lot. It looks like people order different things. I'm always seeing different things. Waffles , burgers , sandwiches, burritos. Country fried steak. The menu is big. And diverse. But I mainly come for breakfast. They have 14-16 tables inside. They are all booths. And sit 4 comfortably. They also have tables outside. So whatever fancies you. This place is kept clean. The servers are always cleaning up. And some nice you order first. Gives you an opportunity to choose your table. In case you want to face the television. Or not. Your choice. The parking situation is good. Just don't park on the other side of the fence. They have plenty parking.

The server also brought the sauce caddy to our table. Lots of seats inside that's shared with other restaurants there. It was quite empty. Love the aesthetics. Seating outside too. Was a bit hard to find at first, but just had to turn the corner. Also tried their iced horchata coffee. It was ok. Has a slightly thicker consistency than the other horchatas I've tried. Not a lot of cinnamon taste, can taste more of the rice. Not too sweet. Not something I would try again, but I love their food!

I paid $17.54 for a biscuit with egg, cheese, turkey sausage, and a black iced coffee. The biscuit was decent, but fairly small, and nothing about the sandwich felt premium enough to justify the price. The turkey sausage tasted like a standard pre-made sausage, and if there was a significant upcharge for choosing turkey, it didn't feel warranted. The coffee was fine. It was a basic black iced coffee, good enough, but not something that stood out or justified a premium price. My biggest issue is the value. Nearly $18 for a simple breakfast sandwich and a plain black iced coffee feels excessive for what was served. I've also noticed that the total seems to vary from visit to visit, making it difficult to know what to expect when ordering. I genuinely like the people who work here and wish them success. This review isn't about the staff. For me, it's simply a matter of price versus value, and I can no longer justify spending this much for a basic breakfast and coffee. Biscuit: 7/10 Coffee: 7/10 Overall value: 3/10

The emoji breads tempted us with their cuteness, but we were very curious about the Oyaki Mentai Caviar's combination of spicy cod roe and mochi. To be safe, we also got the Mentai Salt & Butter Roll. While we liked the Roll and its crunchy outside/soft inside, we actually loved the Oyaki. The mochi isn't sweet at all, just nicely chewy. Plus, whereas the Roll only had a little bit of spicy cod roe inside, the Oyaki was packed! I say this a lot, but truly, everything looked good. I hope to come back and try their Paninis and Danishes. If they're anything like the Oyaki, they'll be distinct, delicious, and downright delightful.

Everything else was a major disappointment. The food was genuinely awful. It tasted like it had all been frozen, reheated, and thrown onto a plate with no care. Nothing felt fresh or made with any attention to detail. It was bland across the board, and not just "a little off", it was consistently unappetizing. The coffee "lattes" were disgusting. I could honestly make better at home, and that's not an exaggeration. The drinks overall weren't any better either. What makes it worse is the marketing. The way this place presents itself makes you expect authentic, flavorful Southern-inspired food with real quality behind it. In reality, it doesn't come close to that promise. It feels misleading. Overall, it was one of the more disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. I left genuinely surprised that the standards were this low given how it's advertised. I wouldn't go back, and I wouldn't recommend it.
