This is the worst served to go burrito. When you order a burrito and take one bite the last thing you expect is for the beans to be so watered down the leak through the wrap and bag. The burrito didn't come in the container. I had to go back in after cleaning my work shirt and pants down to the back of my leg. What a way to start off a morning! Any cook with half a brain would have avoided serving a burrito like this, unless he did it on purpose. So upset, I will "NEVER" go back to this establishment. I want to say this is one of the best tasting fish and chips plates I've had at any burger stand. The only reason I didn't give it a five is because I've actually had better but of course those are places that are triple the cost. My friend and I decided to try a new place for lunch today. Since we always head over to Fry's to walk around on Fridays we see this place all the time. It's one of those "Let's check that place out sometime!" saying it over and over for years. Well today we finally tried it. It's your typical order at the counter diner that serves breakfast, burgers, fried fish, Mexican food, sandwiches, etc, etc. We knew this going in and we were in the mood for some greasy diner food. I was really surprised how nice this place is inside. They remodeled when taking over Ted's Burgers and it looks really nice for this type of place. Employees all had uniform shirts on and were very friendly. Even the patio was really nice with brand new patio chairs and tables. When I had my annual physical a month ago and got my lab results I was dismayed to see my triglycerides are a bit high. I said "Ok, no more fried stuff..... gotta eat better". So today for lunch I ordered the fried chicken strip basket with french fries. Served in a red basket lined with wax paper was a huge portion of golden hot and crispy french fries topped with three giant chicken strips. Dipped in BBQ sauce they were mighty tasty. My friend ordered the cheese burger with fried zucchini. I have to say.... those were some DAMN GOOD zucchini strips. The batter was crunch and stayed fused onto the veggie, no crumbly batter here. I don't ever remember ever having anything bad, but do have a few current faves. Breakfast for lunch! 24 hr. breakfast specials $2.99 P-cakes, eggs sausage I like but only eat on short days 'cuz it's nap time after eating. Burger combo, Gyro are both spot on. I love Alea Cafe for their Greek omelette. Tomatoes, red onions, mushrooms, feta cheese, with a side of tzatziki and pita bread AND hash browns. I get it with additional ham since this doesn't have any meat in it, that's $1 extra. The pita is so nice and chewy, and the tzatziki a bit tart and so creamy and garlicky. I don't know what it is about this omelette, or is it the way the cook makes it, but this is my fave omelette. Along with the omelette we got a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich on sourdough. It's so simple but so good. The bread is always perfectly toasted with a generous slather of mayo, and fresh tomato and lettuce. Then we also got a side of two sausage links and a side of syrup. Total came to just a bit over $14 and we took half the omelette and hashbrown, and 3/4 of the pita to go. I also rotate between the above and the gyro, gyro salad, or greek village salad. Their salads are nothing to sneeze at! The gyro salad for example, comes with a hearty helping of sliced gyro (theirs is lamb instead of a lamb/beef mixture), cucumbers, tomatoes, lots of Kalamata olives (yum!), red onion, and feta on top of a huge pile of dark green romaine lettuce. To be more healthy, I forgo the dressing and get a side of that lovely tzatziki sauce instead. Also a $2.99 breakfast special! Eggs with your choice of bacon or sausage, with hash browns or pancakes, AND a choice of toast. Can't complain about that! I haven't really tried the rest of their standard burger joint fare yet. I always end up ordering the same every time bc it never disappoints. But they do have a gyro omelette also. Hmmmm The staff is nice, and the owner (I think) is a nice Greek-American lady who always double checks my to go orders, and she speaks pretty good Spanish too. Oh yeah and FREE WIFI! Today I enjoyed the waffle breakfast includes crispy waffle, 4 strips of bacon crispy, and 3 eggs any style u like $6.45 this filled me up plenty without being overly indulgent. The restaurant is clean service is fast and efficient, waitresses are nice; dont forget to leave small tip they deserve it. MY FAVORITE: their breakfast (served all day) is still great. I recommend pairing it with their hand squeezed OJ! THEIR SERVICE: the girls at the counter are friendly but you can expect a 10-15 min wait for dine in- especially weekend mornings. They're getting cheaper with their portions and it's noticeable. My recent chicken salad had really bad over cooked chicken and today I ordered a Philly cheesesteak for a change. Just look at the bread to meat ratio. It was the most dry, mostly bread sandwich I've had in a long long time. We chose this place to have breakfast with the family and were "greeted" by Mayra, the cashier. She has the worst customer service skills we've ever encountered. She should not be allowed to be at the register, being that she's the first person that customers come in contact with. She's rude, snappy and just seems unprofessional. She's going to cause a lot of business loss, because customers aren't going to want to dine at a restaurant where the staff is this unprofessional. We have been customers of this establishment for years. We ordered our food and sat at a table, and even though we told her we were dining in, she bagged our food to go and yelled from the counter to our table for us to come get our food. I have eaten here twice now and both times the breakfast has been amazing and a lot. This time around I got the chorizo, egg, beans and cheese burrito. And the chorizo was made amazingly.
