Our house looks like Disneyland with nicely trimmed trees and clean. They cleaned after themselves and protected smaller plants under the large trees. Al was recommended to me by a previous co-worker, so I called him for a bid to remove a 40-foot Shamel Ash tree in my backyard that had very large and invasive roots. Al showed up promptly at the time we had set up. He assessed the tree and then, since I was impressed by his professionalism, I decided to ask how much it would cost to also remove a large Yew which had grown too big for its location, 3 medium sized dead shrubs, an approximately 15-foot dead Magnolia tree, and what was left of a dead Camphor tree. In addition, I was hoping I could also get 2 smaller, Bronze Loquat trees in my front yard trimmed that had been severely scalded by last summer's excessive heat. However, I felt sure I wouldn't be able to afford to have all that work done. So, when Al gave me his extremely reasonable bid, it was all I could do not to hug him! The following week, Al and his crew came out (again, right on time) and got straight to work. I was favorably impressed by their equipment which looked comparable to any city crew. (I've had tree trimmers come out with nothing more than a machete and a chain saw!) His entire crew were friendly and actually seemed to enjoy their work. I knew they were insured (I had checked online), but I was still relieved to see they used safety equipment and were very careful. The Shamel Ash tree was in what I thought was kind of a tight location and not far from my air-conditioning unit, but absolutely nothing was damaged during the removal. That tree was so big that when the trunk came down, the house literally shook! I had asked Al's son if he could slice the trunk for me in four approximately 14 inch sections so I could use them in my landscaping and keep them for sentimental reasons---after all, my Dad (now deceased) and I had planted that tree ourselves over 35 years ago. Not only did he cut the trunk up for me as I'd asked, he surprised me with an additional 6-inch slice from right down near the base where the trunk shape was very interesting, so I can varnish it and use it as a decoration. He even waited patiently while I counted the tree rings to see if that really is an accurate way to determine a tree's age (turns out it is!). Grinding that tree's stump and large roots (some went completely across the yard) took hours, so while that was being done the rest of the crew were busy disposing of every branch and twig, and raking up two years worth of leaves which I had been unable to keep up with. Additionally, a section of sidewalk had to be lifted to get to a thick root beneath it, and then replaced. And if all that wasn't enough, Al volunteered to break up some concrete blocks I'd had sitting by the side of my house for years into pieces that were small enough for me to lift so that I could finally dispose of them. When everything was all done, I was overjoyed at how much nicer both my front and back yards looked. Best of all, there had been no stress or drama! I have since recommended Al to my friends, and I have no doubt they'll be as pleased as I was. read more

They did a great job on my Palm tree .. while they were there, I asked about getting my hedge's trimmed and he quoted me a price.. a month or so later, I scheduled an appointment for him to come out and do the work .. Spent the day at home waiting for them to show up and they never did. Called again a few weeks later, and again set up a time for them to come out .. he told me that he would try and be there Saturday, if not, for sure on Tuesday .. Saturday came and went, and by Tuesday afternoon I called someone else to come out and trim the hedge. read more

I had received several quotes to remove two Mexican Fan Palms and trim a large pepper tree. Al was very knowledgeable, licensed and insured, showed up exactly on time for the estimate and not only beat the previous quotes, but pointed out other things that needed attention. Today the crew showed up exactly on time and finished on time. They took out other dead stumps and trimmed a smaller palm tree at no additional cost. They moved everything before they started their work, protected plants that could not be moved, and put everything back and cleaned everything up. I had Al and his crew out within last couple of weeks to prune several palm trees and completely remove 3 large banana palm trees. When everything was completed, my front and rear yard looked good. Fast forward to last week when I had a crew out from a local nursery to plant 3 foxtail palms in the area the banana palms had previously been. To my surprise, and the crew who was planting the new palms, 1 of the stumps from a banana palm was still there. Al's crew simply covered the stump with dirt. This obviously hindered the ability to plant a new palm so work stopped. They had to take the new palm back to the nursery. I immediately called both phone numbers I had for Al and left messages. Several more calls were made with messages left. As of this review, I have yet to receive any call back from Al!! Horrible customer service to say the least! read more

I called and Al set up and appointment and arrived on time to give me an estimate to remove 3 Queen Palms and cut back & shape 2 other trees.
