This place is sooooo good. As I write this review, I wish I could be eating at Al Chabab right now. It's a small, clean, no frills Syrian restaurant. There is free lot and street parking in the area. The couple that were working when I ate here (and I'm guessing they probably own the restaurant) were super friendly and really seemed to care that we were enjoying the food. Their fattoush salad is probably the best I've ever had. Everything I had was amazing. I want to come back and try more. I saw some guys order the sheep's head. It looked interesting and very tasty, and the two guys scarfed all of it down in minutes. There's even a picture of the chef with the sheep's head dish on the front of the restaurant. I definitely gotta try that next time.

Al Chabab is my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant I've been to locally. The fattoush salad that came with my entree was tasty, and I'm not one to rave about salads. The garlic cream sauce was to die for, and the hummus was some of the best I've had at a restaurant. My favorite dish though is the Al-Chabab cherry kabob. I've never had anything like it. Dearborn has a plethora of notable restaurants, but this one needs to get more love. It's truly a hidden gem, and a must do for any Middle Eastern food lovers. P.S. If you're feeling adventures or like exotic foods, check out the "Al-Chabab Bajah" portion of the menu, which includes sheep head, cow feet, lamb tripe, and more.

I still say "get the cherry kabob!!" We got the cherry kabob, which comes with salad and rice, along with an order of meat pies and it was more than enough food for two people. We also got the spicy Syrian hummus which was delicious as usual. The owners are very nice and food arrives very quickly. It's a small place with 3-4 tables for dining in, but I think most of their business is carryout. I always recommend this place and the cherry kabobs to anyone who is going to Dearborn.

While we eat Middle Eastern food almost weekly, it's typically Lebanese or occasionally Iraqi. This was our first time having Syrian. While the dishes had similar names, the spices and flavors were unique and different than we are accustomed to. Overall we really enjoyed the food. The hummus was thick and choppy versus the smooth texture I'm familiar with. We are still trying to decide if there was a different ingredient behind chickpeas. Turns out my husband asked and it was a mix -- eggplant/chickpeas. We would've preferred it without the added olive oil on top. The fatoosh was tasty and we loved the pita and the dressing, but it was drenched so less would've also been better. If we came again, I'd ask for less oil and less dressing. The chicken shawarma was tasty. And my husband loved his shish kebab which had a pepper sauce. We are glad we tried this place. A new adventure.

This restaurant is perfect. I brought my friend here because he had never had Syrian food before. He thought is was so flavorful and some of the best food he's had in Michigan. It's a little upsetting because now when my family cooks a meal for him, it'll never be as good as this. If I lived closer, I would eat here every week. The staff is really sweet and helpful with the menu. We got the kebab combo for 2, hummus, fattoush, and jallab. I had never had jallab before and it was so so delicious. I can't wait to go back.

The flavors are next level and absolutely delicious. Chef Shamoo is a lovely person also and takes pride in his food. You can absolutely taste the love in his cooking. It's one of my favorite restaurants.

This place was on my check list after seeing pics of a dish called Pacha(Lamb Head Dish). Not a very adventurous eater but wanted to try this once. Me and a friend reached around 1.30 pm. 2 groups of people were there.we chose our table with in whatever little distance we can maintain from them Ordered Pacha, spicy Bread, Chicken Ghallaba and Coke which costed us $35. Pacha was good but not really my kind of food. I was expecting a lot of flavor but it really lacked any. Pros: --------- Friendly Staff Complimentary Bread & Salad Quick Service Clean Decent Prices & Portions Free Road Parking Lot of Food options in walkable distance Cons: -------- Food Tasted Lil bland I gave 4- star coz of the owner & his wife( I assume) were so sweet and friendly. It's not always about food as few times food may not be great but customer service matters. Some places need to be given a second chance. So go give it a shot !!!

The food was outstanding. The lamb was incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The fresh bread, rice, and overall quality of the meal reminded me why Dearborn has become one of my favorite food destinations whenever I'm in Michigan. What made the experience even better was the service from Murad. From the moment I sat down, Murad was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. He got my food out quickly, checked on me throughout the meal without being intrusive, and before I left, he thoughtfully brought me a wonderful cup of tea to finish the evening. His warm smile, positive attitude, and professionalism made a great meal even more memorable. Restaurants can serve excellent food, but great hospitality is what keeps people coming back. Murad is a perfect example of that. If management is reading this, he's doing an outstanding job representing your restaurant. I'll be back every time my travels bring me to Dearborn.

So I found this spot when I was in the mood for some shawarma and I gave it a shot. I used to work…read moredown here so I probably been maybe a decade ago but it's been quite some time so I thought I would try it again. You come and it's in the parking lot of a shopping center so was free parking so that's good. It's pretty large so even if you don't think it is, when you come in as much more spacious than it seems. The place is pretty clean and they're no issues with that but at the same time when I went there was nobody there and everybody was coming for pickup. So I guess that was probably why it was still clean because nobody had made it here LOL. I talked to the guy at the counter. He was super cool and gave me plenty of time to look over The menu. Even gave me some suggestions. Hummus - so the hummus was really good. They give you a heck of a lot of it. They put it in one of those small fry containers so it's basically spilling out but it's plenty and it's super tasty . Fries - the fries came with a little dark on them so I know they were fried crispy. They weren't seasoned like that but you had so many things to choose from, whether it be the hummus or the garlic sauce or whatever to dip them in. They got plenty of flavor on deck . Grape leaf wraps - so you get a couple of these when you get the combo platter. They're tender and moist and filled with rice and really good when they're super hot. I think I might have eaten these in the car LOL . Chicken shawarma - the chicken shawarma was really good. They give you plenty of it and they give you the pita to wrap it in. They have a sauce that goes with it but you don't even need the sauce because the chicken is already tender and flavorful . Meat shawarma - the meat shawarma was pretty good. I think that the chicken was better but the meat one was really good. It was super tender and very juicy . Grilled veggies - the grilled veggies were basically hunks of vegetable LOL. You got probably almost a whole onion grilled and you got a whole bell pepper grilled and then you got a bunch of carrots grilled. Everything was large. It wasn't like you got chopped vegetables or something like that ... But everything was still good. Salad - I had all the food that I listed and I didn't even really want the salad. It came with its own vinaigrette dressing, which was still really good but at the same time it was almost too much. The salad was very fresh and had the typical toppings that you would expect from a Mediterranean spot . Overall this spot was the best choice I made all day I think. You can get all this stuff for under $40. What better deal is that? I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area for sure !

The owner was running the counter and he was friendly, welcoming, and clearly proud of the place. I went for the combo and I was greeted with fresh bread, soup, and their excellent garlic sauce, which deserves its own shoutout. I was dipping my pita with it and even added it to my rice. The soup was a pleasant surprise: a chicken‑forward broth with a thicker texture. The mixed shawarma (lamb and chicken), was enormous! Easily enough for two meals. The meat was tender, well‑seasoned, and came out fast. Between the value, the portions, and the hospitality, this feels like a hidden gem.

I am the only customer inside for lunch today. Some food delivery pick-ups and the DoorDash ding going off in the background. Ordered the molokhia soup, lentil soup, combo mazza with fattoush less pita instead of the salata masria, feteer chicken shawarma and side of falafel. $49.78 They are out of the Fakhfakhina drink, sounds interesting with the strawberries, ice cream, sounds kind of like a float. I couldn't try a taste of the molokhia soup to see if it would be good or not. I have no idea what Jute is, had to look it up. It's a green leaf soup. I went with the feteer chicken since it's a light breading vs the hawashi. The lentil is extremely runny, doesn't taste as expected, rather subtle flavors, mostly bland. Some rice as filler. Comes in a small cup. The falafels are shaped like small donuts, they are crispy, but the inside is soft. They aren't too bad, just mostly taste the oil from the fry session more than the chick peas. Super light and crunchy though. The roasted eggplants are food, has a nice kick to it. The hummus is super smooth and a tad runny, reminds me of tahini sauce. The fattoush is okay. Could use some sumac to flavor it up some. The cucumbers are too water logged, tomatoes aren't ripe and lettuce is wilted. The Molokhia soup has a rather slimy and glutinous texture, it's quite odd. Not for me at all. Comes in a large bowl. The waiter waiting on me is eating behind the checkout counter after he dropped off my last dish. The feteer is an Egyptian quesadilla. Cheese, tomato, green peppers, black olives and chicken shawarma. It's good with the hummus or the garlic sauce. The feteer is definitely worth the I felt like the experience for me was very much transactional.
