Salmon with Sweet Potato Mash & Veggies

We drove to Palm Beach Gardens for a few days with another couple. It was our first time for all of us dining at Al Fresco. It will not be our last. We all had an incredible meal. Fish of the Day, Salmon, Duck and dessert. We were greeted with smiles and seated immediately. We chose to sit inside as it was just a bit windy for our liking. We were seated at a table by the window and enjoyed the breathtaking view! Many patrons were dining outside. Our server, Andrea, was pleasant and attentive. We ordered the Al Fresco "Golfballs" appetizer for the table. Five veal and beef meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce. The flavor was well balanced. I always order duck if it is on the menu. In this case it was a roasted half duck in an apricot glaze. Every bite was mouthwatering. It was cooked to perfection; very tender, not greasy. I highly recommend Al Fresco! You will not be disappointed.

Ortega, Enzo, Kris, all the staff all the management run this place like a tight ship. Southern outpost of Pizza Al Fresco & sister to RENATOS & AQUA, Al FRESCO @ Par 3 is wonderful ocean side dining with a bit of Capri thrown in. Pizzas, Pastas, Fish, beautiful salads & grilled meats.

Love this place. View are gorgeous of the golf course & ocean. The food is excellent & the service is excellent. Well worth the price.

I have wanted to come here for years. I understand this is the sister restaurant to Renato's and Acqua Café. I called two weeks in advance to make week night dinner reservations for four. There was valet parking but plenty of spots to self park. The Al Fresco Restaurant & Bar is above the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Club Pro Shop. There are indoor tables and seating on the open-air patio with spectacular oceanfront views. There were fans & a cool breeze, sitting outside was comfortable in the end of May. The dinner menu had something for everyone. Starters, salads, homemade pastas, risotto, pizza's and entrees including branzino, salmon, veal, ossobucco & four chicken options. There is a $7 fee for sharing entrees. We were seated on the patio, overlooking the golf course & ocean. Miguel our waiter took very good care of us, We started by sharing an eggplant rollatini appetizer, while friends enjoyed a portobello. I understand that they have homemade pastas here so I opted for lobster ravioli, and a pink cream sauce that was outrageous. My husband enjoyed the fettuccine Bolognese friends enjoyed the vongole with clams and a duck entree. For dessert we shared a chocolate moose over a brownie. Portions were very generous we brought enough leftovers home for another meal.

Beautiful views from all sides. We enjoy going for a light lunch and for dinner. Great food, especially the chicken parmigiana!

The atmosphere a blend of old school architecture and fluoride casual. Nice staff and maybe the best Mahi sandwich I have had in a while.

Ask the Community - Al Fresco

    Are they open Xmas day?

They have been open in the past years. I would double check 561-273-4130

Do they take reservations for lunch?

Dinner only starting 4 pm, so we were told on the phone.

Are they opened on Labor Day?

I would give them a call and ask.

The chicken and…read morewaffles are some of the best around, the lasagna is fantastic, and the meatloaf and pot roast are pure comfort food done right. The place is a little funky--in the most charming way--with local art on the walls and a laid-back vibe. It's great food in a quirky setting, and honestly, there's a reason it's been open since the 1950s. Go hungry and enjoy.

I've held off on writing this review and I really hate to say it because I want this place to be…read moregood every single time I go, but the service is actually so terrible and by the looks of the other reviews, I'm not the only one who thinks so. The food is baseline for a diner. It's nothing special, but it is mostly acceptable and the ambience truly does all of the heavy lifting for this restaurant. The last three times I went the service is just despicable really. You look around and most people have their food and there's maybe two or three tables that need to either order or still receive their food and you sit there and you don't even get a drink order taken for literally 15 minutes which was my experience the last time I went, we were sat by the hostess, who quickly returned to the host stand to just stand there, and we waited for our waitress to get our drink order and it took over 15 minutes for anyone to come, and the only reason they came is because we got up and asked if we were going to get seen by anyone. And being that the service was so incredibly slow and lackadaisical the last few times I timed how long it took for me to get my food and it took 47 minutes for them to deliver a turkey club and a Philly. And the time before the most recent time I was there for breakfast and it took them over an hour to bring the food out, and they did NOTHING about it. Which really was the most shocking part I am in the Restaurant industry myself and there are things that are objectively right and there are things that are objectively wrong and something wrong happened and they had nothing to say for it except sorry. The poor young guy behind the counter on the way out was throwing himself under the bus as if the whole Restuarant is on his shoulders meanwhile our waitress had nothing to say drop the check off and just moved on in spite of the fact that I took the time to communicate that I was very disappointed by the extremely long wait time and the club I had on this occasion had rotten tomatoes in it that I couldn't even remove from my sandwich because they were basically mush but it's kind of like the perfect situation for them because I'm so hungry at this point after waiting so long that I do my best to remove it and my waitress is nowhere to be seen so it's not like she's gonna hear about it until she drops the check off. So basically long story short if you're in the market for mediocre food, extremely slow service and a somewhat interesting ambience and you have about three hours on your hands Howleys is the spot for you! I'm all down for the hipster vibes and I know subculture tends to lean on that but I think that they really gotta understand that they're not too cool to care about giving good service and and checking that their produce is fresh. It's such a great location and if they can't run this restaurant the way it should be maybe they should consider selling it to somebody who cares more. Having mini golf out front doesn't make up for the fact that you need to take care of people. Also, don't look in the spout of the creamer tin... Yelp I guess likes pictures so pictured below is the root beer float that took 30 minutes to come after we finished eating. I come here all the time and I really wish they would just do better. I literally just come for the ambience, but imagine if this place actually ran well and you didn't have to suffer waiting or picking at your food! Think about it! Also if you're the manager I don't need your phone number or some kind of vip service next time I go! I just need regular good service! The kind that every customer should go in there and be able to expect!

I talk about the "curb-to-table" experience frequently. In my former role as a Delta Air Line Captain, I recognized the curb-to-plane challenges our customers encountered. Chef Conley has created a friendly and welcoming experience from curb-to-table. It starts with the complimentary valet. Finally. Finally. I learned about our regular valet: MANNY! Manny, thank you for the kindness and safe service you have given us. You are usually the first person who takes care of the Buccan Family. You create the smile before we walk in the doors of Buccan or Imoto. Thank you. Solang' (my spelling is probably wrong and I apologize): You are such a beautiful soul. Thank you for your kind words to Laura as we left. Kindness makes a difference. While kindness is free, sincerity is priceless. Wow, I haven't even chatted about the food. We tried something new this time. After our small plates, we tried the pork chop. The mild onion and sweet rhubarb---simply stunning. Even shared, we boxed some for home. I don't care if you are watching what you eat. Close your eyes! The chocolate cookies (warmed) are a must. Period. Selfishly, I hope Chef Clay never gets a tv show. A book deal is allowed. We want this local treasure and his team to remain anchored here. Clay and his team are own foodie treasure in our back yard. But wait, there's more: Honored to watch Chef Clay modestly expand the Miami environs. He will be opening his Buccan-Imoto-Buccan Sandwich Shop experience in Coral Gables sometime in June/July. OMG, we cannot wait for this to open. Though retired from the airlines (I miss my MIA overnights), we will make the trip to celebrate these new venues. However, we will do it very quietly. We do not wish to be labeled as stalkers. Probably one of my longest reviews. I love seeing hard working people succeed. What this team does for the community is simply breathtaking. This is a true success story. Thank you Buccan-Imoto-Grato-Sandwich Shop-Stokes Barn Team!!!!

Not only did we love the food but we also got to learn the history behind Buccan which was fascinating to hear about. I got the steak tartare to start and it was impeccable!! Their short rib empanada at first bite tasted like every other empanada but once you really dig into it, it was very good! To end the night, we tried their chocolate chip cookies which was made to perfection sprinkled with a little salt on the top! Will definitely be back!
