If you are going out for a special occasion, skip this one. When we arrived, we checked in about 15 minutes before our reservation, we like to get to places early for a drink. The host said we were checked in and could have a seat. I asked if there was a bar to grab a drink and she said "I would just sit here and wait there are ALOT of people waiting for drinks" I have no idea what that meant, but we just sat down and waited. Once to our table, we did wait quite some time for a server. Which, is not what we are un happy about but still needs stated. We ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer once the server did come over. The wine brought to us was not what we ordered, the lady who brought it said it would taste the same. The wine was ok in taste, but was 10 dollars more than the bottle we ordered which was not communicated with us. I mean, it was fine but would have been nice to been told. Finally, our pasta comes out. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe for two. 65 dollars. When she brought everything out, on the stand where the hot plate goes, was someone's eaten food. The food looked like it had been sitting a while, with a fork still on the plate and this was extremely off putting and unsanitary. It made the experience feel gross. The server said she had just been trained on this (again, fine, just stating what we were told) she quietly and quickly throws everything together and plates up our food. It was an extremely small portion for two people. We start to eat and the pasta is overcooked- gummy and clumped together- and ice cold. I did not even finish my portion, my husband did. I was so extremely disappointed. For a 150 dollar meal, we left feeling hungry and annoyed on our 15th anniversary. Anyways, we would never go back or recommend this place. If you're looking for a nice restaurant in Cincinnati area I would suggest prima vista over this place all day. Don't waste your money! read more

We started with the chickpea & cucumber salad and then for our main dishes the Orecchiette Barese and Gnocchi alla Marcella. Such a great mix of flavors all perfectly prepared. Had yet another great experience at Al-Posto tonight. Was able to get a last minute reservation and enjoyed the holiday decor inside. We were seated by the wine cellar and our waiter Terets was super knowledgeable and friendly. We ordered the burrata, Arancini, cacio e pepe and eggplant parm. These are prob the best vegetarian friendly options on the menu! Arancini are big and shareable as is the burrata. The eggplant parm is nicely breaded and paired with a delicious sauce. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. We started with Burrata. I also had an espresso martini. The Burrata was good. We didn't have enough focaccia bread to match the Burrata and the server offered more bread. We didn't realize until we got the bill that the extra bread was $5 more. My husband ordered Short Rib Lasagna and I ordered Orecchiette Barese. Both were very good. The Orecchiette had a kick, maybe the sausage or a red pepper flake. The Dark Chocolate Budino we ordered for dessert tastes as if a Heath Bar could be served as a mousse. It was very rich and delicious. I wanted to grab a quick but delicious bite to eat after work, so I decided to try my luck at getting a seat Al-Posto's bar. My first impression of the space is a highly favorable one. It is absolutely beautiful and perfect for either a romantic date, ladies' night out, or a peaceful time alone at the bar. To my surprise, I was actually able to snag one of only two available seats at the bar. I truly lucked out because the place was packed. There, I enjoyed the perfect Sidecar cocktail and the Arancini and Meatball appetizers. The sidecar was perfectly balanced and truly one of the best I have had in the city. The arancini (breaded and fried rice and mozzarella balls) had a perfectly crisp texture on the outside and were moist and delicious inside. Yum! The meatballs were a meat lover's dream. The texture and seasoning were perfect, and they contained minimal filler, if any at all. My experience surprisingly exceeded my expectations, and I plan to return in the near future for a more complete dining experience. Service is important to me, so I deducted a star because I sat at the bar for at least five minutes before I was greeted. In all fairness, once I was greeted, the gentleman who prepared my sidecar was wonderful and provided awesome service for the duration of my visit. I look forward to returning soon. read more

Pretty new to the Hyde Park area and really attractive inside. A reused bank building, there's a really cute dining area in what was the bank vault. Friends eat here often and recommended I try it, so I did. It didn't disappoint. Lot's of pasta dishes, and reasonably priced. I had the Eggplant Parmasion and it was excellent. My girlfriend had a seafood pasta and really enjoyed it as well. There's a parking lot behind the building, cause we all know parking can be problematic in the square. read more

Burrata was amazing with a surprising topping of mustard seed and strawberry purée. Focaccia perfectly oily yet crisp. Desserts were great, too. Service was wonderful. Not too much, not too little. The food was phenomenal, the service and the manager were terrible. Waited 1 hour and 45 minutes with nothing but water and wine. Talked to the host and on the 2 hour mark, we got some bread. Then it all went downhill from there. Their only saving grace was the food. Amazing. Atmosphere was great, but loud since it's a small space and it they covered every inch with seating, whether that was a table or chairs or couches to lounge. Very beautiful restaurant, almost reminds me of Branch (now closed) in Walnut Hills. We were celebrating birthdays and it wasn't acknowledged. This could be as simple as the server saying Happy Birthday or a small cookie. I celebrated recently at Nicolas and they gave us complimentary champagne and the host, server and manager acknowledged our anniversary. None of that here. Our server was absent most of the time, someone else took our dessert order, service was definitely not anything special. My red house wine was delicious and the fried mushrooms ended up being the best thing. The branzino was grilled well, flaky and crispy but I had to add a tad bit of salt. I did like the olive oil/nuts/parsley on the plate, that helped out. For $34, the fish was extremely thin, the value wasn't there for me. $28 maybe with a dollop of potatoes or something would make this dish worth it. Overall, I was underwhelmed, it's a stunning space though and worth checking out. While you're there, I'll be a few doors down at Alfio's. There is definite room for improvement here with service and food. read more

What a stylish revamp of the old Teller's location, complete with the sunroof, plush green seating, high tops and retro wallpaper. Al Posto gives a facelift on food as well, with some seriously yummy Italian fare. We started with Arancini (good, not great-could use some salt) and burrata (amazing), then split two pastas to try more of the menu. Orecchiette was nice, but the spaghetti allo scoglio stole the show. Really delicious seafood sauce and the noodles were on point! Ended the meal with some cannoli (not too sweet) and the olive oil panna cotta (delish--I think with a salted caramel topping and some crunchy honeyish bites). A minor complaint that the margarita was on the small side (very conservative pour but a fun twist to replace the Cointreau with Orangecello), but perhaps they were just steering me to the wine (barbera paired nicely). Tried Al-Posto for the first time and we were quite underwhelmed. Had a reservation and upon walking in, the hostess doesn't look at us or acknowledge us, then proceeds to talk and laugh with a coworker who is walking by before bestowing us with any kind of greeting. Just not a great first impression and could use a little coaching if you are the first person guests interact with. We were seated and ordered drinks. Atmosphere is nice and fresh. Cocktails weren't the best. Appetizer came out quickly, but then waited and waited and waited for our entrees. They apologized for the delay and food came out. Overall everything was very salty and buttery. Ingredients look decent, but execution in the kitchen can be improved. Braciole was dry, but luckily included a sauce which made it more palatable. Shrimp diavlo had nice plump shrimp but in a sauce that tasted only of salt and butter either a small hint of spice. I'm used to this dish havjng much more flavor, so was a bit disappointed. It was also just 8 pieces of shrimp and sauce on a plate. Could've been improved by including with it a bit of pasta perhaps. For the price we paid we can get much better food and service elsewhere. No one asked how our meal was at the end of our stay, but maybe they didn't really want to know. read more

Cory is the best bartender! Stopped in for a nightcap and had the privilege of meeting him. Was bummed that they no longer have my Sicilian martini, but Cory made me his favorite martini and it didn't disappoint. The host at the door was very welcoming and found a spot at the bar for the two of us. We tried the olive oil cake topped with cinnamon gelato at Cory's direction and he was so right. Absolutely delicious if you enjoy a dessert that's not too sweet and gelato that has a slight crunch. I'll definitely be back to get more recommendations from Cory. read more

Finally made it into Al-Posto! Have seen this space transform from Tellers to Dear and now Al-Posto. Loved the overall vibe and decor. They did a nice job. Service was quick and attentive during our meal. Love that you can make reservations in advance. We arrived early and were seated with no issue. The food was OK. We split the Burrata and Arancini. The Arancini was a definite must try! I also had a plate of the linguini. It was tasty and I enjoyed my meal but it doesn't steal the seat for some of my pasta favorites in the city. Overall we enjoyed the experience and I would venture back for a date night or girls night out. read more

The ambiance of this place was awesome. The service and the food were amazing. We ordered the burrata as a starter, which has hints of honey and mint. For main, we got the Linguini all Scoglio which has shrimp, clams, and bottarga (dried, pressed roe) which adds a very unique but decadent taste. We got tiramisu for dessert, which had a nice spin of having a s'mores theme to it with burnt marshmallow on top. Definitely recommend, 10/10 restaurant. read more

This has been our go to date night restaurant since it opened. We loved Dear, but Al Posto absolutely filled the shoes. I'm not someone who really eats or enjoys pasta, but THIS pasta I could have every day! We started with the meatballs and burrata, both are phenomenal. My husband paired his meal with a glass of red wine while I had a mocktail, both were delicious. We both got a pasta dish, and shared lamb chops to finish off the meal. I love this place. The decor is beautiful... apparently designed by the same people who designed Boca and Sotto and it's obvious. The arancini balls were warm and cheesy with a thin crunchy layer and cooked to perfection the night I tried them. Second visit, I got the Burrata, which wasn't my favorite. It looks like they do different things each week with the Burrata and the evening I tried it, the flavor was a little off. With that said, I will try it again as the chef knows what they're doing. On the first visit, I had the eggplant parmigiana and I'm usually pretty reticent about ordering eggplant as it's easy to mess it up...it gets sliced too thick and it's overly fried and cheesy. Not here. Sliced just the right thickness, a crunchy breading, and it sits on a lovely bed of sauce with just the right amount of cheese. I'm still tasting it now. On the second visit, I tried the Spaghetti Allo Scoglio with clams and shrimp. Just the right amount of garlic with a lovely, crunchy breadcrumb topping. My friend and I split the apple cake with caramel ice cream and liked it so much that we ordered a second one. I'm meeting a friend next week and I'm going to try the gnocchi. Finally, the service is consistent and attentive without being cloying. The servers know the menu well and understand food. Clearly well trained. This restaurant is next-door to my office which thrills me. read more

When I walked in I was immediately impressed by the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. It was nicely decorated and it made me feel like I was stepping into Italy. For dinner I enjoyed Arancini, Grilled Branzino, a daily special corn ice cream, and Tiramisu. The Arancini was delicious; very flavourful and the sauce was well seasoned although it could have been a little warmer.  The branzino was cooked well, not overdone. The olive oil and capers gave it a nice flavor. While a respectable size, it could have been larger for the price that I paid. I would have liked to have at least one side with it. The corn ice cream was absolutely amazing and I really do hope that they continue to produce this. The tiramisu was well-balanced not overly sweet but great flavor. Finally I have to give a real shout out of commendation to the amazing customer service I  received the entire evening. Our waitress Lucia, was amazing. She was kind, patient, very knowledgeable, and excellent with her recommendations. She did not steer us wrong. The owner also personally came to our table and really spent time with us, telling us the story of the inspiration behind the restaurant and really caring about our opinion. We felt valued and appreciated as customers. I would come again and recommend Al-Posto to others. read more

First time going after hearing amazing reviews from a good friend and chef. Did not disappoint. I must admit, I'd like to come back to this review with more photos at a later time as I was so engulfed in the dining experience that I did not capture enough photos. But back to the review: The ambiance is beautiful. Very well decorated, two-story restaurant with great views on the second floor. I also saw they've added an outdoor rooftop patio that I cannot wait to try when the weather permits. I've been here when this space was known as Dear and as well as Teller's and I must say this is the most I've enjoyed the interior at all. Now food: FIRE. The menu is exceptional, diverse, and very well priced for what you're getting...honestly almost a steal. We tried the arancini, panzanella salad, cacio e Pepe and Branzino. Everything was exquisite with a SPECIAL HEAD NOD to the branzino which was beautifully prepared with a nuanced flavor profile that I've never personally had. I could eat that dish every day of the week. I enjoyed a lovely Vermentino that paired exceptionally with each course. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and the olive oil pana cotta. It made me feel like I was dining in Italy. I found the pana cotta to be an experience: I've never really had olive oil in a dessert like this and it was truly a wonderful opportunity to try something new. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't get it again. That does not take away from my review, clearly. In fact, it only adds to it in that this place offers something NEW and exciting which I think the restaurant scene is missing in the city. Instead of chasing what everyone else is doing, Al Posto offers something different, delicious and desirable. I'm Here for it. The service was also lovely. We were very well tended to and accommodated. There was a lovely energy to the place as well. To both sides of me, other diners and I interacted, laughing over good wine and comparing notes on our dishes. I wanted to like Al-Posto so much but I didn't think it lived up. I had been hearing good things about this new Italian spot in Hyde Park and wanted to try it out. We booked a reservation for a Friday evening and were seated upstairs. I loved the colors inside, everything was bright and cheerful. The menu definitely sounds inviting and has a lot of offerings. We decided to start with the arancini. For anyone who doesn't know, this is risotto formed into a ball with cheese, breaded and fried. Obviously delicious. I did not receive arancini. Delivered to the table were fried balls of white rice, no cheese, and they were cold. They were served on top of pomodoro sauce. We also ordered the panzanella salad. This was absolutely the best thing we ordered! Fresh, filled with flavor, and so so good. I would absolutely order this again! I love cacio e pepe, and it's not on a lot of Italian restaurant menus, so I was excited to see it as an option. Cacio e pepe literally means cheese and pepper. Unfortunately m, at Al-Posto it also means olive oil. The bucatini was drenched in olive oil. It was so oily that I wasn't able to enjoy it. We also ordered the orecchiette pasta with kale and sausage and we really enjoyed this dish. We felt like this one was well seasoned and just the right amount of spicy thanks to the 'nduja sausage. Would order this again as well. The last thing ordered was a side of meatballs, and while we enjoyed the flavor of the red sauce, unfortunately the meatballs were cold. The service was absolutely fine and there was nothing to complain about from that end. But I think Al-Posto has a lot of kinks to work out before I'm willing to give this one another try. read more

Wonderful experience!! Wow oh wow am I impressed by the food, the drinks, the hospitality, the friendliness, the decor, the atmosphere,...the list goes on! Huge perk that I can walk here, too! I will add that I just got back from two weeks in Italy, so my expectations were high :) I brought my friend with me and we had such a lovely night! Dan was our server and he was SO personable and kind. Giovanni, the owner, came over and met us and talked to use not once but twice! He was so welcoming and charismatic. He told us all about the family history, the inspiration, and the details about the food being made in-house. He truly made the experience even more enjoyable! We were unsure of which white wine we wanted so Dan graciously offered to bring us over some samples. They were served in the cutest little wine glasses! We started with the arancini app (which was complimentary due to me being accepted into the Yelp event) and it was phenomenal! I would definitely order it again. We then split the chickpea salad and they split it for us in the kitchen and served it on two separate plates, which was so nice. We then split the cacio e pepe paste. It was so cheesy and peppery and good!!! The noodles were thick, but hollow. Very snazzy and very tasty! We then split the tiramisu for dessert. I would love for it to be served in its own little bowl or jar (as they do it in Italy), but it was still good. Next time I want to try the affogato! The only downside was that we had to wait awhile for our cards to be collected to pay once the check was given to us. We saw that this was due to Dan being called behind the bar to help make cocktails (he was doing double duty as server AND mixologist). When Dan finally did come over to take our payment, he surprised us with espresso martinis that he made himself behind the bar! It was such a pleasant surprise and they were definitely worth the wait! I came home RAVING about Al-Posto to my husband and I know he will be wanting to go there with me very soon, so I will be back!
