So the flight was for different ice lattes paired with a pastry, which was a croissant a Blondie brownie, a macaroon and lastly.strawberry cake for $25. It took a while for the flight to be prepared because I think they're a little bit shortstaffed on a Monday morning, but they had a lot of comfortable places to sit and wait. The corn beef sandwich came out good and I mentioned it was simple because it's literally just corn beef with some white bread and some cheese, but it was actually pretty tasty for breakfast. The coffee flight came out and it's on a large paddle and it looked really delicious. I have to say the regular flavored lattes and the croissant weren't my favorite choices, but as I started moving down the paddleboard towards flavored lattes and the Blondi bar, it was pretty good. My favorite latte was the butter beer and my favorite pastry actually turned out to be the Blondie brownie bar. The inside has enough seating for about 50 people and it's really cutely decorated. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the mood for a coffee after a day of shopping in Ellicott city.

Looking at the reviews, I was super excited to try out this quaint cafe in Old Ellicott. The…read moreservice was okay and the owner came out after to check in everything. There were 6 of us, and they were able to put two tables together to accommodate us. I was overall disappointed with the food. The waffle which I paid $5 for was super small and there were just chunks of sugar in it. I also ordered scrambled eggs with spinach and cheese. The spinach came out on the side of the eggs and was uncooked. The cheese was not melted, and the eggs were burnt (dark brown and dry). The waitress was kind enough to take the eggs back for the cheese and spinach to be mixed/melted. They were still burnt and flavorless. I picked around and ate what I could. I also ordered some kind of spinach and feta pastry from the front case, which was good. We also all enjoyed the homefries which were crispy with a unique seasoning. We ordered the stuffed french toast which had a great flavor, but it wasn't really stuffed, there were just toppings on it. My nephew ordered the chicken and waffles. He's 15. I'm guessing that waitress assumed he was a kid and gave him the kids portion. Either way, the fried chicken looked like two pieces of frozen chicken schnitzel. My mother ordered the Reuben and did not like it at all because it lacked flavor.

It's a smallish space and indoor seating was really full at 11 AM on a weekday. Because of rain, the outdoor benches were not in use, and I saw closed-up patio-umbrellas too. I ordered from a kiosk or you could order online or in person. I got the bacon egg and cheese croissant and it was made quickly by welcoming staff. It was a regular size croissant with very light cheese and a layer of crispy bacon pieces in a well toasted croissant. The flavor was good. This café also sells a number of beverages, including fresh ground espresso, and various teas And they sell some bakery goods, candies, and quite a variety of dry-packaged teas and coffee. The parking right in front Café Jun can get pretty full, but there's plenty parking in the rest of the shopping center. You can enter the shopping area from eastbound US-40 Baltimore National Pike, or from westbound Frederick Road. It's just east of Centennial Lane/Bethany Lane and about a mile West of US 29. The larger shopping area has a diner 3-strip mall sections, one of which is called Princess Shopping Center, so I'm a little confused which mall-name covers which shops. They have a summer concert planned! That should be fun!

People do seem to respect the 90MIN seating window though so you should be able to find a seat. You order and pay at the counter first and then they give you a table number card. This is how they find you to serve your food. I ordered a regular matcha latte, a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on croissant bread and their famous croffle. I loved their matcha latte. It's pre-sweetened so no need to add extra vanilla syrup or anything. This does not taste like a traditional matcha, which in my opinion tastes like dirt. This is a sweeter, dessert like matcha. I didn't care for the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was kind of dry and it tasted like something was missing. The croffle was amazing. It has a nutty, pecan like taste to it and it was topped with vanilla gelato and blueberries. I couldn't really taste the maple syrup but it was delicious nonetheless.

Delicious food! Order ahead to shorten time for fresh-made…read more We wanted to try the falafel wrap at Abu Shawarma. Of course we go during the weekday 11-3 lunch special for a couple dollars off the combos, and even though the falafel isn't listed in the special, the staff kindly gave us the discount! The falafel was hot and flavorful, moist inside with a thin crispy outer layer, in a delicious grilled flatbread roll, with some chopped veggies and sauce inside. We asked for and received extra tahini sauce, which is the right way to get this sandwich. We also got a flavorful beef shawarma, which i have reviewed before. The sandwiches took about 15 minutes because they prepare them fresh. The combos come with piping-hot boardwalk-style fries, this time in an old-school small paper bag. We did notice that a number of people call in their order ahead of time, which would save you the wait. This time for a beverage we got the yogurt drink called Ar-yan, self serve from their beverage cooler: slightly tart and slightly salty. That's a nice beverage with this sandwich. We ordered a Turkish coffee after lunch. It was brewed and delivered in a small traditional hammered-copper "chez-ve" cezve pot heated in a tray of sand. The flavor was lovely. It was not as strong as we expected. It did not seem to have grounds in it, but I dont know if it was the way it was prepared or the way we poured it. It was served with paper cups, and would've been nice in ceramic or glass. And we added a fresh sweet chunky pistachio baklava. A yummy not-overly-honeyed treat. The restaurant has plenty of seating, including some out front, and a cushioned sofa near the coffee and pastries. There's plenty of parking in a lot that is shared with the laundromat next-door. There's two disabled spots at the north end of the lot with a ramp up to the restaurant level. You enter the lot from the westbound lanes of US-40 Baltimore National Pike, between Rogers Av and US-29. Abu Shawarma serves delicious food in a bright clean welcoming space. Order ahead for a shorter wait.

I tried the delicious chicken shawarma wrap (to-go) and eyed up the cheesecakes (next time!). This is a new-build commercial strip, only one other business is open thus far. Once the whole row is occupied, parking might be dicier but it was easy for now. Like many small businesses serving middle-eastern fare, there's a homey authenticity to things. The food, the staff, the comfy chairs at the end of the seating area. There's event catering, there's regulars coming in, there's the shawarma rotisseries glowing in the background. A big bonus is the (also typical) late hours. None of that "last order before 9pm" nonsense that we see with so many establishments- I lament all the years where only the worst fast food and occasional barfare was available for those of us who are nightowls. Thankfully there's late night options like this place now. Only quibble, the portion was slightly smaller than I expected, but the presentation was better than I expected. Definitely will be back.
