    Lunch special/Thali,
    Zahra S.

It was my first time trying this restaurant. This is a Halal restaurant. I had the lunch special, which is nice in the sense that you get to have a taste of multiple different things. The nan bread was just the plain kind. It did not have ghee or garlic or anything, but good. I enjoyed everything especially the Seekh kebab and the sabzi. The dessert was gulab jaman, which I always enjoy, I love very rich, decadent things like that. I ordered mango lassie to drink, it was good, medium consistency, not watery, but not the super thick Punjabi style. It was a very nice, friendly, casual, dining experience. I hope to be able to return and try more dishes. I did use the restroom while there, it was clean, a single person restroom and they did have a water container in order to be able to clean yourself with water as an accordance with Islam.

You better bring an appetite if you come to this place I can't believe I got to try two vegetarian dishes and one beef dish!! The na'an was super fresh warm and chewy!! The lychee tea was superb and smooth!! Get the rice pudding!! I loved it! Our server Nala was top notch and very attentive!!

Over priced with small portions. BEWARE THE FOOD that you eating is prepared 1 week ago. I recommend that you go Elsewhere..

This place is a moderately sized restaurant bordering on Inglewood Ave. The width of the interior is about the width of two large hallways/entryway side by side with the length of a semi trailer truck. They had two tvs, and the walls were mirrors and one way glass facing the street. The staff were nice enough, I felt as if some of them had a language barrier but that's no big issue. I ordered the lunch special and a mango lassi. The lunch special comprised of rice and bread, lentils, tandoori chicken, seekh Kabob, spiced vegetables, and chicken korma. The rice was pretty standard, but the bread was served hot and had a nice slight crisp to the soft interior. The bread also had sesame seeds, which amplified the flavor of the bread similar to a sesame seed bun or sesame ball. The lentils had excellent seasoning, a stew like texture and spread well on the bread. The tandoori chicken flavor reminded me of a hot dog with an aftertaste of louisana hot links. The seekh kabob is a nice coarse spiced beef with a spongy texture. The vegetables were cooked nicely with a kick of spiciness, but I don't personally care for veggies. The chicken korma was really tender, but the spices were on the lighter side of flavor. Lastly, the mango lassi was good and creamy, more dairy than mango taste with a thinner texture than expected. All in all, a very flavorful lunch. I was surprised at how well seasoned the food was and how it left a lot of impact on the palate. Definitely recommend trying the lunch special on weekdays for a representation of a few items on their menu!

We ordered the mix tandoori plate, tikka masala, biryani and onion kulcha to share with a group of four people and still had plenty leftover to take home. The food arrived piping hot and served with freshly made naan. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned/spiced and balanced. The only negative is the limited parking

Food was bad. We drive all the way to this location to try Pakistani food. We ordered siekh kabob and it was super bad. It looked like it was cooked 2 days ago-frozen- and re-heated. The lamb karahi was tough - no flavor. The fried chicken - was supposed to be a whole chicken like how it is in Lahore - the server said it's a whole chicken - it came out in pieces and cooked to death! It was so dry. It's not even for human consumption. The Paya had a burnt taste. Seems like the bottom of the pot burned. The brain masala was the only descent one. Naan was ok. Overall - will never go back again. Will try the other Pakistani places. I really thought I can Like this place. Bad food. Sketchy area.

My boyfriend's family is Pakistani and this is their favorite place to get authentic Pakistani food. I've come here a few times now and completely agree that the food here is delicious! During my last visit, my boyfriend and I got the mixed tandoori plate, which is a mix of beef and chicken and a few pieces of naan on the side. It comes in a sizzling plate so it's super hot and fresh! The meat here is so delicious and I love how flavorful it is. The naan here is also really good and is always so warm and soft. They give complimentary salad and chutney which I also really enjoy. I would say that prices are decent for the quality and quantity of food; my boyfriend and I shared the mixed tandoori plate and were stuffed after our meal and had a good amount of leftovers to take home. The service here is good and they checked up on us throughout our meal. It is a decently sized restaurant and there has never been a wait to get seated whenever I've come. There is a small parking lot, however, it gets full quickly so a lot of the times, you'll be better off trying to find street parking.

I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon, where a few other patrons were already dining. The seating has around 6 or so tables inside that can fit around 4 each, and they also have high chairs for children! I ordered a number 17, which is the gyro, and got a side of hummus and pita then found a table to sit at. I had just finished buckling my child into the high chair when my order was delivered to my table! They are super fast here! The super friendly waiter delivered my meal, and I dug in. The gyro was stuffed with meat! This is a huge deal, since a lot of places skimp and don't give enough. So extra points to Al Hamra for a job well done. The flavor of the meat was juicy and well seasoned, super delish! The hummus and pita was good, although I usually add a bit of spices to my hummus so this one was a little plainer than I'm used to. Either way, it was a nice addition to the meal. The grand finale were the desserts! I usually go for baklava, but decided to try the knafeh, a layered cheese dessert with syrup and pistachios. Get the knafeh! The warm cheese and syrup were so delicious and made for the perfect ending to a good meal! I will definitely be back, the food was super tasty, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the happiness, Al Hamra!

Our group of four adults and two kids came in starving. I had the chicken kabob wrap, which was a perfect burrito-sized meal, while my husband enjoyed a beef and chicken kabob plate that fully satisfied his appetite. Honestly, the highlight for me was the warm pita served with garlic mayo, so much better than the cold or room-temperature pitas you often get at otherMediterranean spots. We also shared dessert, the kulfi cheesecake, and left completely stuffed. Al Hamra is a cozy family-run restaurant with just a few tables, but the food makes it well worth it. I'll definitely rotate between this spot and Chicken Maison for future visits.

Pretty outstanding shawarma spot in an unassuming strip mall…read more We came in and looked obviously like it was our first time and so they sliced some chicken and beef shawarma to try. The beef shawarma was so tender and the flavors had so much complexity to it. The chicken didn't quite pack the same flavor punch but the chicken was tender and juicy and you could taste all the different seasonings. I ended up getting the chicken shawarma plate on rice and it did not disappoint. Already mentioned the chicken but the rice is also very flavorful. Has a rich almost buttery flavor. It complements the chicken well. The pita is thin and not the typical fluffy pita bread you might think of. I do wish there was a little more of it but that's a minor complaint. The garlic sauce packs a punch and the red sauce is a spicy and tangy flavor. The hummus is very light and maybe because everything else was so flavor forward, this was a little bland in comparison. The people were really nice and friendly and for less than $20 to get a really tasty meal plus a drink is rare. I will definitely come back.

For drinks I had the cucumber mint lemonade. It's their newest drink. So delicious! It's cold, refreshing, and delivers a burst of flavor in your mouth. A must try! For food I had the chicken tikka masala (mild), half rice, and garlic naan. They also give you a small side salad. The garlic naan was the best I've ever had. So moist and not burnt like a lot of other places. You can easily pull it apart with your fingers as it screams, "eat me! eat me!", with delight. The chicken tikka masala's flavor was amazing! I like to try things mild first to see how they taste. Some places serve bland food and mask it with spiciness. Not here. The flavor is all there. Next time I think I'm going to adventure on the wild side and try the medium and then possibly the spicy. The included salad was simple yet so satisfying. The dressing is definitely unique and packs a punch with the spice level but... I like it. *wink* *wink* hahhaa. The rice was perfection. I hate it when it's not cooked enough and too mushy or overcooked and hard. Originally I was going to eat half tonight and then the other half tomorrow but... I know myself. I would just go to bed, wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it, then not be able to go back to sleep until I finished the rest because it would keep calling my name from the kitchen. Hahahaha. I didnt get to see the inside because I got it to go but I'll let you guys know in an update. The staff there is great and they seem like a very nice family. As I've always said, I'm a huge supporter of family businesses. I'm soooo happy I gave this place a shot. I am not only coming back, I'm definitely going to have them cater some of my parties. Enjoy!

They're thick, they're flavorful, they hit you with the right spice. Normal spice is a white man's medium high so they got their base down which is more than half the battle. They cook the Paneer just right. And really enjoyed the Bartha! That The not so good: the chicken is way overcooked, I don't know if it's breast or thigh, but it definitely tasted like a dried out breast. Possibly using the tandoori and just dropping it into the gravy, but a perfectly cooked chicken thigh would take the chicken tikka masala to the moon. Second, the Paneer portion size was a joke. Maybe six cubes in the whole deal. Needs to be at least double. I'm ready to try again you gotta protect your meats!
