Veggie noodles for the kids was a bit spicy so I ended up eating it
Natasha O.

This is the King of Paratha. Best Paratha in the States. Very authentic, clean, and fresh taste. Must order chicken keema paratha and chai (Indian Tea) they go very well together, the chai here is better than lots of restaurants in this area; I could say the best chai on Pioneer blvd. The owner is very friendly. Overall very family friendly place and the sun view is beautiful from the tables where we sat. Must try for sure!

Amritsari Khulcha and Chole
Harpreet K.

Best authentic Punjabi food in town. Yummy food with authentic taste. Best Amritsar Kulcha I've ever had. The staff was also very sweet, they make the food right there fresh. Very desi vibe to it.

Menu

First time trying amritsari kulcha and chole. Best recommendation for those who haven't tried this spot before. Came with about 6 slices in generous portions. The filling of the amritsari kulcha was rich with potato-like texture overall mixed with the crunchiness of the bread. Chole masala was also rich and good. The yogurt runs on the sour side, making the chole less spicier. Highly recommend this spot with the stylish uncle chopping cilantros, asking if the food is good. It isn't a fancy restaurant, there's the traditional hole-in-the-wall style layout and restroom. Should fix the faucet handle not to scare anyone away though, :)

The service was amazing, you can even watch your paratha being made. The food was tasty, and very filling.

Samosa chatt

Super delicious parathas, great place to go when you can't go to your mom's. I always get the Gobi one and I love it. It's my favorite. The samosa chatt is huge. Been there twice already and will be going there more.

We got the Stuffed Punjabi (potato) and chicken Frankie. Pros - the Frankie was pretty good. Came out wrapped in foil super duper hot. I had to wait several minutes before I got started. It was my 1st time trying one and I liked it. I believe it's the same chicken they use for the tikka masala (may not be) but if it is it isn't as sweet as other places I've tried. Nonetheless it was good and a nice size. Easily big enough for one person. My wife got the Punjabi plate that came with chicken. Seemed to be the most reasonably priced dish and most "bang for your buck." Decent sized serving. Never had anything like it so I can't compare it to anywhere else and I can't articulate how it tastes either. Unique. Cons - again with the machine asking for tip. Why? It's fast food ffs. Overall 7/10

This is a no frills simple establishment but the owner is nice and will give suggestions if you ask. I ended up with paneer pakora which blew my mind. Each piece was lightly battered and most likely air fried. The chutneys were felt made dhaba style. I will return!!

We have been here countless number of times in the last 6 years since we first discovered this gem. Their food remains amazing and they make it fresh in front of you. Love the service and quality of the food. The owner and the chef are warm and welcoming. If you are looking for authentic punjabi meal which would remind you of India, you should look no further and come here. We have tried most of their assorted parathas and they all taste amazing. I love their kadhi-chawal, their dal tadka in the paratha combo is really good as well. I am looking forward to try their malai kafta and their dal makhani sometime because we usually end of getting the parathas or the amritsari kulcha and chole. I have to inquire if they can customize the parathas since I had a craving to have mutter and cheese paratha, perhaps one day. We come here often and the food is always fresh and piping hot. Ambience is casual, they do have few tables outside too if you are worried about covid and there is plenty of parking available.

Perfect place to enjoy flavorful punjabi khana. Paratha's are prepared fresh upon order & served with pickle & raita. Lots of choices from curries to kabab. Service was quick too.

Deep diving into Indian/Pakistani bread https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=qZkQ7ESlYtucLKwLGK1CmA&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Naan, dosa, now it's time for paratha! Paratha Grill occupies the former home of Little India Grill. I was originally planning to eat lunch buffet at a nearby restaurant, only to find their buffet is only on Sundays. So, seeing how I've been meaning to try paratha & Paratha Grill for the first time, it seemed pondering upon a contingency wasn't necessary. To get the most bang for the buck, I went with the Special Paratha Combo. The combo entails a choice of select paratha & a side choice of select curries. Vegetarian $8.99, Non-veg $10.99. Gobi paratha & dhaba chicken (special paratha combo)- https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=zwp4r-Ygl3DHMRjllA5fYw&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA The dhaba chicken had 3 pieces of drumstick. It had a good amount of heat, not enough to burn out my palate. The curry was delicious when sopped up in the paratha. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CdiWzMcXm0y-5eQM253grQ&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Speaking of paratha, the gobi (cauliflower) paratha was thin, and had an excellent burnt crisp exterior. The minced onions, cilantro, cauliflower & other accoutrement added flavor & texture to a hearty, filling dish. Each piece torn by hand & dipped into the dhaba chicken - perfection! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ZzSMgAivw1FGwFIykh-PLg&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Service was good. I arrived & gave my order for dine-in. The wait seemed a little longer than expected, but they seemed busy with takeout orders. Tables are inside, with 3 tables outside. I sat outside to enjoy the warm day. It seemed there isn't air conditioning inside, so I imagine it can become quite stuffy during the hot summer. Parking is via a private lot shared by other businesses. Paratha Grill is located south of Seafood House, within the Pioneer Center in Little India. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=39sg9INmsgATYhPXrDhlvg&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA I actually liked paratha better than the dosa I had at a nearby restaurant. The thinner, crispier texture was much more pleasing to eat. The Special Paratha Combo is a great deal, and I'm looking forward to coming back and, perhaps ordering their Tandoori Combo.

It consists of spiced mashed potatoes, paneer, yogurt, mixed vegetables & onions. Topped with a slathering of butter or ghee. Never served by itself, Amritsari Kulcha is paired with Chole (chickpea curry). For dipping, raita (yogurt) & tamarind chutney complete the meal. I've had Amritsari Kulcha at many establishments in Little India, and Curry Lounge does it the best! An order is large and a generous amount of food, that'll keep you full for the rest of the day. Regarding the remodel, the restaurant is now more spacious and accommodating for more guests. The murals on the walls & decorations add to the appeal. I've been a regular at Curry Lounge, since they opened, and will continue to be so. Highly recommend!

Man, I really had high hopes for this place. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken,…read moresaag aloo, garlic naan, white rice, and samosas to start. I'll start with the positives -- the samosas were actually really good. Great flavor, crispy texture, and the sauces they came with were excellent. Service was also great, and our server was very friendly and attentive. Now for the disappointing part. The garlic naan was super doughy and almost cake-like, which was not enjoyable at all. The butter chicken was overwhelmingly sweet to the point where it honestly tasted more like dessert than curry. The tikka masala was better, but it seriously lacked salt and flavor depth. The saag aloo was creamy, but overall pretty bland and forgettable. The biggest disappointment was the amount of chicken in both dishes. We were left with bowls full of sauce and barely any meat. It honestly felt like we paid for soup with a few pieces of chicken thrown in. We left feeling pretty ripped off, especially for the price. Maybe it was just an off night since they were busy, but based on this experience, we won't be coming back.

The India Restaurant is located in Artesia on the block with all of the amazing Indian restaurants…read more My boyfriend and I were somewhat in the area, and we made a slight detour to explore the area. This was such a great spontaneous discovery. They have a small parking lot in the front where we parked, but then we saw later on that they also have additional parking in the back if you don' see spots in the front. Upon entering the staff was welcoming. The gave us a few tables to choose from that were cleaned and appropriate for 2 people. I just want to say service was impeccable our whole time there. Everyone on their team took turns checking on us, making sure our waters were refilled, and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. So nice!! As we explored the menu, we saw the combination dinners that allowed us to get more variety, which we love. We both picked a different combo so we could share and try more things. My boyfriend enjoys tandoori so he went with the Mix Tandoori Grill ($26.95) that comes with an assortment of Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Seekh Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Fish Tikka served in a sizzling platter on a bed of onions with naan, rice, and gulab jamun. So much food! I picked the India Special ($24.95) which comes with chicken tikka, the choice of lamb or chicken curry which I opted for the chicken, veg, korma, raita, rice, naan, and gulab jamun. What a FEAST!! For the naan I asked for the garlic naan and it was INCREDIBLE. Wow! Might be THEE best Indian food I have ever enjoyed. Between the two of our orders I felt like I had the variety I have when I go eat at Indian buffets. My boyfriend loved the tandooris platter. All of the proteins were cooked perfectly. I assume they were prepped separately to get to the right cooking temp. So funny because my boyfriend was eating the rice while I was indulging in the naan. Dipping the naan in the curry and the korma. Nom Nom Nom! So fun and so delicious. My boyfriend was even saying this is one of the best meals he had in a while. I was so full when the gulab jamun dessert came out at the end but it was so delicious I still ate all of it. Without a doubt the best execution of this dessert I have ever had. We will definitely be back when we find ourselves craving Indian food.

Simplified version - good quality food, solid portion sizes, and a really comfortable "community…read morevibe". -- longer version below -- The food is great! The butter chicken is my favorite, I know it's the most basic b Indian food but everything I've tried has been awesome. Sangeetha's cooking has made me ok with trying some vegetarian food when I thought I'd never like any non meat-centric dish. Swing by, try something new or enjoy something old. Relevant - it's not super spicy, but that's ok to me, it's more accessible to people that might be turned off by excessive spice - I have some scorpion pepper powder that I add to bring the heat, and it doesn't hurt the flavor that I've come to love. They're not open Mondays, but hey - she deserves time off! A suggestion if I may - grab an extra bowl of butter chicken alongside whatever else you get, and throw a fried egg or two on top the next morning for breakfast. DOES NOT HAVE BANANAS! As a professional simian that is of note, but not a negative ;) There are random snacks I've never seen before, I've tried a few and have been happy with what I've sampled. The bottles of mango lassi are super tasty and for me, it helps my heartburn.

I probably will not be returning, but it wasn't bad. I think non-south Asians would really like it. Edit: I was going to delete my review, but I got a private message from the owner with a ton of attitude, asking me to take this down, but I don't feel like that's ethical. I don't think three stars is bad. So just to restate. The food is not bad. But I'm not going to take this review down because I don't feel like it's appropriate for the owner to message you privately with an attitude and try to strong-arm you into taking down the review. I have left plenty of reviews about restaurants in Little India, and not once as anybody messaged me with the tone that you have used with me. So I'm leaving it up. Live and learn. Edit: I got a notification that the owner continued to add to her comment, so to answer her questions, I don't remember what I got because it was several months ago, but I remember that it was just okay. It wasn't bad but your approach to dealing with your customers is. I don't think that Yelp has the option of messaging people so you can come at them with a shitty attitude and strong-arm them into trying to change their review. You're honestly just making yourself look worse.

There were a lot of servers and they were good at clearing out plates, refilling water and overall vein attentive. It you're craving Indian buffet in the Cerritos or Long Beach area this place is still with a visit.

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years now. Service has been hit or miss. But…read morenothing I couldn't look past. Today was some of the worst service I had ever seen from the front desk team. The hostesses appeared to be discriminating against a woman because of her service animal. I'm not sure they understand how ILLEGAL what they did today was. We arrived for Mother's Day because my mom loves the all you can eat buffet there and it's one of her favorite restaurants. The hosts up front seemed a bit scattered and were quoting random times to people. We were told it would be about 15-20 minutes. I think we were seated after 30 minutes. They called us up and then told us wait the table isn't ready so asked us to wait another 5 minutes. The reason I took off 3 stars is because a very nice woman had been waiting with her friends and her service dog longer than us. She was extremely patient and kind. She waited outside with her dog and didn't complain once about the wait. I heard the hosts discussing her dog and they were like oh that's a BIG service dog. It was just a normal small sized black lab. And they never began preparing a table for her. The woman finally came in after about 30 minutes to say she had been waiting and was told they were just setting up a table. They kind of brushed her off and said we will get to you. It seems like they had no intention of ever seating her and her friends. They seated multiple large groups before her. We were table of two and we got sat so we thought she would be next and she wasn't. Eventually the poor woman left. They have a sign outside saying service dogs are allowed. This is not true. And you will be discriminated against and not be given a table. I'm not sure if the hosts know how illegal their behavior was. It was clear her dog was a real service animal and the hostesses did not care for her at all. I was a hostess at two restaurants when I was younger and I have never seen anyone treat a customer so poorly before. I truly hope they apologize to this woman. - As for inside the restaurant the servers and waitstaff were extremely friendly. It is a bit scattered and you don't know who your server is so it is hard to flag people down. But they still serve water, naan, and anything else you need promptly. The entire restaurant was packed. Every table was full and the staff always had the food trays full of items. The items also all tasted fresh. All besides the Hakka noodles. That one was a little soggy or over boiled for my taste. I am vegetarian so I got their spinach and mushroom pasta which was surprisingly good. Paneer tikka was also very good. They also had channa/chole. They have street food station where they made fresh pani puri which was great. I believe this station is switched out each buffet day. The last time I was here it was dev puri. And they had someone making paneer tacos. The man making the tacos was really friendly and seemed really happy to be helping everyone. They had samosas and puff pastries as appetizers. They have wide variety of sweets such as carrot halwa, gulab jamun, jalebi, sweets, Kheer, and mango fruit custard. There is a variety of meat dishes such as tandoor chicken, mutton, chili chicken, and chicken curries. I think the only issue with this place is how the hostesses treat customers. Especially new customers. This is their first impression of the restaurant.
