This has quickly become my go-to neighborhood spot for authentic Persian food. Don't let the exterior fool you--from the outside, it looks a bit unassuming in the plaza, but the inside is always clean, tidy, and comfortable. Parking is surprisingly stress-free. Even though it shares a large lot with several other businesses, there is usually ample space and I've never had trouble finding a spot. What really elevates the experience is the service. The woman working up front is genuinely wonderful--she is always exceptionally kind, welcoming, and respectful every time I walk through the door. As for the food, the quality and flavors are spot-on. The rice is fragrant and fluffy, and the charred grilled tomato is always delicious. My staple order is the #1 Combo (beef kabob/koobideh skewers). Ordering tip: the lunch special comes with one skewer, while the standard combo gives you two generous skewers. Beef is so juicy and tender and the tomato is always well done which is nice because alot of places undercook it. There's a kid with glasses at the counter who's very pleasant and pays attention to detail. Otherwise on to-go orders I have to check if a sauce or seasonings packet didn't make it into the bag. One of my top 5 restaurants of all time. And I do not say that lightly. Their chicken kabobs are the most juicy, flavorful chicken breasts I've ever had. The food is always consistent which is a huge factor for me being a repeat customer. The cashier at the front counter is also always so kind and welcoming. I've only gone three times now and she already memorized my order While the dining area is small, it's still nicely decorated and above all CLEAN! Got the Chicken Kebab Plate with Shirazi Salad as my side and the Lentil Soup Overall, not bad. The chicken had good flavor and tasted better after using the lemons that were provided. The rice was properly cooked. The salad had a nice acidity. The soup was very flavorful and actually had a little bit of heat. Service was very friendly and prompt. Not sure what all the 5 star reviews are about. I have been to this place dozens of times in the last few years (used to enjoy flame broiler in the same location before this place opened up) and it was always just alright, the kind of thing I get for a quick dinner. The food was always decent (not great, not bad) and the service/price were similar - just OK value. That all changed a few days ago. I went there and ordered the koobideh plate and asked for an extra tomato as I have dozens of times before, she said we could definitely get you the extra tomato and mentions nothing about a $1.03 extra charge.. I get there, pay and she says its cheaper to pay cash than debit (scummy, shady) - and I hand her $35 for my $31.81 bill (not cheap for dinner) - she hands me back $3.15 and says they are "out of pennies" so she's going to short change me 4 cents instead of them eating the penny and giving me $3.20. I asked about the charge for the tomato and she laughed and said "inflation" Finally, the chicken was terrible. I was only able to eat half of it the rest went in the trash. Pita cafe down the street on manchester (5 minutes away) is a far better value and they won't screw their customers just because they are short on change. I'm including a picture of the receipt - and a receipt for ralphs where they ROUNDED UP the change they gave the customer (the opposite of what they did at the kebab bar) I hope the 4 cents (and $1.03 for the tomato) were worth it because I surely won't be back. I recommend anyone looking for this type of food to just go to Gino Pars or Pita Cafe, both far better options. read more

I visited Kebab Bar on Sepulveda near LAX on July 13 at around 6:00 PM, and I was genuinely impressed. The restaurant isn't very big, but what really stood out was the exceptional customer service. As soon as I walked up to the cashier, the lady greeted me warmly and immediately remembered what I usually order. That's incredibly rare these days, especially since I've only been there a handful of times. Being recognized and treated like a valued customer made the experience feel very personal. The food was delicious as always, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was outstanding. It's refreshing to find a place where they truly care about their customers. Love this place. In the he back of a shopping center in Westchester and one of the tastiest and fresh kabobs you can get in LA. Don't let the location fool you. Chicken kabob has a great spice profile. Not spicy, but whatever their marinade is I love it. Sides are good and the people are very nice. Try it you'll love it. 3 years later, back and very different review! Got the salmon lunch kabob. $20 for about 5oz of salmon, a ton of rice, an entire tomato and pita bread if you want it (I didn't.) the salmon was grilled perfectly tender flavorful and a little charred in a good way. The rice was warm, mostly moist and flavorful. The tomato was grilled and hard but I like mine this way vs overly ripe. It's a little pricey but isn't everything these days. I'm sure this location rent isn't cheap. A good quick and more healthy than not meal. Nice people good service quiet setting easy to sit and eat or work and very easy parking. I stopped by for a quick meal before heading over to LAX to pick up a family member. I ordered the Chicken Kebab Wrap for 14 bucks and sat and waited for my food for dine in. The wrap was a good size which came with pepperoncinis. It had a good amount of chicken pieces and lots of vegetables but it was lacking some flavor, maybe adding hummus or garlic sauce would do the trick. read more

I know, sounds like I work for them but I don't. We were hungry after landing and wanted something non-chain and non-basic. Found Kebab bar on Yelp and it was awesome. A little hard to find (have to turn off Sepulvida into a parking lot - TG for the Kebab sign on Sepulvida or we would have missed it). Worth the trip Call outs: The chicken was SUPER MOIST, like probably the best I have had. Also the portions were large, took half of what we ordered back to our hotel. Mediterranean rice was awesome and the Service was stellar. The woman that took our order and delivered to our table was so nice and looked like she really enjoyed what she was doing and the customers. Very reasonably priced. Suggestions: The main suggestion I have for them is to get better pita bread. The bread was flat and kind of dry - maybe spend a little more on fluffier and more moist bread and charge $1.00 more. We enjoyed our take out dinner from here. Food has Persian influences but Middle East menu for the most part. The person working the grill deserves a raise - perfectly grilled kebabs! The cherry rice (albaloo polo?) was a nice upscaling of usual rice at most places. It's primarily geared for takeout - seating inside is limited - a couple of tables - so plan on takeout. A special mention of utter kindness: we ordered online. The person ordering didn't realize that the order was being made to their La Brea location which is at least 40 minutes away. The young lady behind the counter basically said not to worry, duplicated our mislaid order and it was ready in 10 minutes. Today, our travels took us to Los Angela's. Walkkgn around killing g time before our flight, we came across Kebab Bar. Small, but tasty side establishment. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Many different kabobs that include chicken, beef, lamb, Cornish chicken, wraps, etc are offered. We got the combo plate with beef and chicken. We also got a side of eggplant spread and hummus. They came with very light pita bread that was amazingly light and crisp. My better half really liked the eggplant spread. The meat of the eggplant gave it a creamy consistency. The hummus was good...typical hummus. The chicken and beef were fantastic! Both burst with spices and flavors. They were so tender you could easily cut the meat with a fork. Very very tender! Overall, the place may not look like much, but they sure can cook. This Iranian influenced restaurant makes the perfect kabobs! They are slightly pricey but normal for California. They were very generous with the rice portion. Also, I liked how they cooked their rice, they weren't soggy and had a great aroma to them! The naan was alright, it was pretty bland (but maybe they were meant to taste different from Indian naans. - Beef Koobideh (7.5/10): I thought their beef was not as flavorful as compared to their chicken koobideh. The beef felt like they were under-seasoned. Overall, if you are craving for kebabs and ran out of options to go to, this place might be worth a try! I feel like I've been duped. I've been to this place before, but nothing is the same. All the employees are new and the food is not close to what it used to be. They must have changed ownership or just decided to save money on their ingredients. I ordered the Soltani Plate, Beef Koobideh plate, falafel, and Greek salad. The gyro used to be sliced from a spit and some edges were crisp from the heating element. Now they use pre-sliced strips that looks like bologna meat. The texture is mushy. The last time I saw a gyro like this was at a lunch truck and they charged $5 for this crappy meat. The Koobideh is no longer hand made. Their meat is now machine formed and there is a stripe of meat along the side where the mold encased the meat. The texture is now closer to hot dog than fresh ground meat. They charged $20 for this. I'm sure their cost was closer to $2, if that. By the time we got back home 10 miles away, we ended up only taking a few bites of each. If I lived closer I'd be tempted to go back for a refund. read more

Located on Sepulveda by LAX, this place has the yummiest Mediterranean food! You can tell they use the freshest ingredients. The beef koobideh was my favorite! The beef was so tender and so juicy. The flavors really popped and I loved how it paired with the basmati rice. I loved the charbroiled flavor of the chicken kebab and the cucumber yogurt was so fresh! Everything was a winner and so delicious! The prices are a bit pricey in my opinion but definitely worth the treat. I usually save five stars for exceptional restaurants. This is one of those restaurants. Not because the food is out of this world fantastic. It's not. But it is pretty tasty. Not because it is some great venue. It's not. It's a very basic space that the owner has done a very responsible job on. Have I had better? Sure, at twice the price. Add on a skewer of Kubideh. Also good. With a plate you get a kabab, salad, pita, rice and a side. I chose the hummus. Also very good. Here's where the five stars comes in. I got it to go. How many times have you got home and had something missing or the food was cold? Not here. Yes, it was packed in your standard eco friendly clamshell. Sitting on a bed of saffron rice was the meat. Still hot and wrapped in foil with the pita on top. Then in individual containers were the salad, dressing, a nice vinaigrette and the hummus. I also asked utensils. The real surprise was not tue plastic with napkins and your standard salt and pepper packets. There was a container with some sumac in it. WTF. How thoughtful. This place goes above and beyond.
