    Kachumber and Keema Samosa

Large menu which being here for the first time, made it difficult to choose but what we ordered: kachumber, mango chutney, keema (lamb) samosa, basmati rice, chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, saag paneer and aloo gobi, regular naan. Everything was delicious. Tasty with just the right amount of spice - we did ask for mild. We were only 3 but what we ordered could have fed 4 easily - lots of take home. Our bill reach, with tip, $125. The service was nice, attentive and they gave us a nice complimentary dessert. Place is simple clean and spacious. There's a small parking lot in front of the restaurant and from what I understood, at the back too. Would definitely go back and try other things in their extensive menu.

Solid spot with great variety. Decent amount of seating and staff is kind. Food's got a lot of flavor and place is clean. Free parking across the street. However all the curries are pretty heavy on the cream, and service was a bit inattentive. Disappeared for long whiles. Chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, malai kofta

I have eaten at many indian cuisine places but at Taj I always have gotten my best everytime. My mother and I devour our dishes in minutes!! Butter Chicken- What a delight that pair super well with the Garlic Naan a must try!! Mango Lassi- So refresh and light with a tad of airiness.

Authentic, flavorful, Indian cuisine! Excellent service, so warm and welcoming. Plenty of options and various combos to choose from. Tables and interior are styled nicely with table clothes but still has a less formal/casual vibe. Great sized portions, fresh and all dishes we tried were delicious! Very small parking lot with less than 10 spots but plenty of street parking around.

Great food!! One of our favorite local spots. We ordered the Tandoori chicken, yellow daal, saag paneer, shrimp masala, garlic naan, basmati rice, and a mango lassi. Everything tasted hearty and delicious, and service was warm and attentive. They even offered us complimentary appetizers and dessert :) We'll be back!

We have been living in Playa Vista for over a decade and this was the first time we came here. I wish I could come much earlier and this is a legit place with delicious Indian cuisine with excellent service! We came around 5:30p on a Saturday so the restaurant was entirely empty (when we left at 6:45 it was packed). We were greeted by friendly staff who made some good recommendations on the appetizers and the combo dishes. We decided to go with the appetizer assortment that came with different samosas (one with veggie one with lamb), chicken and some other fried veggie. Thru are all delicious and opened up our appetite for the entree. We ordered three different combos (one chef special with tandoori chicken and curry lamb, one with chicken Korma, and chicken curry. Honestly I love them all but the chicken Korma definitely stands out given its rich and creamy texture! The sides that come with combo are also flavorful: A side of salad, veggie stew, and bean curry. We also ordered a separate side of naans and I highly recommend giving it a try! So fluffy, with a bit charcoal burn at the bottom and perfect for scooping the curry! We decided to pass the dessert in the end. To our surprise the staff brought rice pudding to us for FREE! Such a nice touch. We will defiantly come back again!

I tried this place because Uber Eats had a BOGO Free offer with Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer as options. This was the best Butter Chicken I've ever had. I normally am a big fan of Saag Paneer but this one was ok on its own but much improved by the mint and tamarind sauces. The naan and rice were both ok. Just skip the roti. I will definitely order again and try the chicken Tikka Masala.

When you branch out from your go-to Indian food spots - and you now have another go-to Indian food spots. Friends took us here, because great friends don't keep food finds like this a secret. With it being our first time here we had to try the staples - tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala and chicken curry (who am I kidding, we always order these dishes). All were amazing in their own way. Tandoori chicken was perfectly cooked. Chicken tikka masala's sauce was extra creamy and rich, which was amazing with our onion naan. Curry was also excellent. You'll only find great service, a warm and comfortable atmosphere and amazing prices here. We will be back.

Came here for lunch and absolutely loved my meal! I just dropped in on a whim and am so glad I did. The dining room is traditionally styled and very clean. The wait staff was friendly and welcoming. The Chicken Tikka was perfect! If you're around, definitely stop in and Enjoy!

    Lamb tiki masala

I had the lamb tiki masala in my man had the chicken tiki masala. It was amazing. I do recommend the lamb over the chicken just because it is a thicker creamier based and for me it was a lot more filling. We also had Jasmine rice and naan bread.

The Taj India Palace is tucked back in a small awkward parking lot. If this is full, don't just drive away, there is plenty of parking around the corner in the neighborhood. We went with another couple and sat in the dine in section. We had thought we would be there forever because two large busses pulled up and this place got packed. To our surprise the service was amazing. They had set up a buffet opinion for this large group, so everything ran very smoothly. If you have a group, this place can handle it. We ordered the Tandoori Chicken for the table to start and it was brought out quickly and it was perfectly cooked. The Chicken Tikka Marsala has a nice kick and is a bit creamier than I'm used to but I very much enjoyed it. We tried several choices of flavored Naan bread. I recommend the onion, it was delicious and I don't usually find it on most menus. Our table and the 2 buses of buffet diners finished around the same time. Even though this place was packed we felt relaxed and we could hear each others speak at the table. Taj India Palace has it down we will be back.

Beetroot and peas cooked with a blend of spices and coconut. I love beetroot and have never eaten it cooked like this, it was a joy to find a new veggie dish :) I also ordered the Aloo Gobi which was full of spice and heat and the veggies were cooked to perfection. The Sambar and Milagu Rasam soups were amazingly tasty, both full of chillies, and spices, and very, very moreish. An absolute symphony of spice on the taste buds. Daughter shared the soups with me, and had her usual double order of crispy potato and pea filled samosas (she keeps half for lunch next day), along with the savoury bone in goat curry, her fave. Can't wait to visit her again so I can have another Indian dinner with Southern Spice. I already know what I want to try next....egg curry and Medhu Vada :)

I personally thought the flavor was really good, though it's worth noting that my South Indian friend who came with me felt the food was just okay. The main downside is that the overall selection is a bit smaller than other Indian buffets I've been to. Normally, you can expect to see a goat or lamb dish, but they only had chicken options available for the meat. Even with the slightly limited selection and missing lamb, it's still a satisfying meal and a good value for the price. If you're in the mood for a solid Indian lunch buffet, it's worth a visit.

For drinks I had the cucumber mint lemonade. It's their newest drink. So delicious! It's cold, refreshing, and delivers a burst of flavor in your mouth. A must try! For food I had the chicken tikka masala (mild), half rice, and garlic naan. They also give you a small side salad. The garlic naan was the best I've ever had. So moist and not burnt like a lot of other places. You can easily pull it apart with your fingers as it screams, "eat me! eat me!", with delight. The chicken tikka masala's flavor was amazing! I like to try things mild first to see how they taste. Some places serve bland food and mask it with spiciness. Not here. The flavor is all there. Next time I think I'm going to adventure on the wild side and try the medium and then possibly the spicy. The included salad was simple yet so satisfying. The dressing is definitely unique and packs a punch with the spice level but... I like it. *wink* *wink* hahhaa. The rice was perfection. I hate it when it's not cooked enough and too mushy or overcooked and hard. Originally I was going to eat half tonight and then the other half tomorrow but... I know myself. I would just go to bed, wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it, then not be able to go back to sleep until I finished the rest because it would keep calling my name from the kitchen. Hahahaha. I didnt get to see the inside because I got it to go but I'll let you guys know in an update. The staff there is great and they seem like a very nice family. As I've always said, I'm a huge supporter of family businesses. I'm soooo happy I gave this place a shot. I am not only coming back, I'm definitely going to have them cater some of my parties. Enjoy!

They're thick, they're flavorful, they hit you with the right spice. Normal spice is a white man's medium high so they got their base down which is more than half the battle. They cook the Paneer just right. And really enjoyed the Bartha! That The not so good: the chicken is way overcooked, I don't know if it's breast or thigh, but it definitely tasted like a dried out breast. Possibly using the tandoori and just dropping it into the gravy, but a perfectly cooked chicken thigh would take the chicken tikka masala to the moon. Second, the Paneer portion size was a joke. Maybe six cubes in the whole deal. Needs to be at least double. I'm ready to try again you gotta protect your meats!

For our first visit, my daughter suggested the Tandoori Tikka Pizza (Tandoori Chicken). We also ordered the Halal Chicken Wings, Garlic Naan, and a small salad. Right away, the smell when you walk in is incredible, and the staff greets you immediately, which made a great first impression. Now for the food -- the pizza was delicious with the perfect amount of toppings. The sweet and tangy BBQ sauce really brought everything together. I personally would've liked a little more cheese, but the crust was cooked perfectly with a nice chewy texture. The wings were another standout that both my wife and I really enjoyed. Slightly crispy on the outside while still delicate and moist inside, with a mild heat from the spices that wasn't overpowering. The naan was decent with a good garlic flavor, although it was a bit thin for my preference. The salad was fresh and delicious -- we always appreciate having plenty of vegetables with our meals. Overall, definitely recommend checking them out. Next time we're planning to try the Butter Chicken Pizza.

First time customers deserve better:…read more My husband and I visited for the first time recently. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, and our server invited us to choose any table. She immediately brought over two bottles of water and asked if it was our first visit. We said yes. She went over the menu in some detail. She did not ask if we wanted a drink, nor did she mention that the bottled water she had already placed on our table would be added to the bill. We ordered the lamb tikka pizza and the bhindi masala. The food was decent, but not remarkable. Portions felt a bit light for the price. The pizza crust was more like a crunchy pita, and the toppings were sparse. The okra was decent. Overall, I'd give the food 3 stars. The reason for my 1-star review is the way the restaurant handles water. We were automatically given bottled water before we had even looked at the menu, and at no point were we told there would be a charge. When the bill arrived, we discovered we'd been charged $1.50 for each 12-ounce plastic bottle. We had three, for a total of $4.50. This isn't about the money. It's about transparency. In most restaurants, water is provided as a courtesy, so presenting bottled water immediately to first-time customers without mentioning a charge feels misleading. If bottled water is the only water option available, that should be clearly communicated upfront. To make matters worse, there's a prominent sign stating that outside beverages are not allowed, which presumably includes bringing your own water bottle. After paying our bill and leaving a 20% tip, we suggested that first-time customers be informed about the water charge when they're seated. The response was a shrug and, "It's in the menu." Maybe it is. But if you're going to place bottled water on the table before customers have even opened the menu, the courteous thing to do is mention that it isn't complimentary. A simple heads-up would have avoided the entire issue.

The place was moderately busy; but, there appeared to be only 2 servers and a busboy taking care of the entire main dining room and the patio. They seemed pretty stressed. The noise level was higher than I expected. It was due to several families appeared to have run into each other and they were all standing around having loud conversations while being oblivious to other guests' personal space. As far as the food, the menu looked enticing offering upscale dishes with ingredients like truffle. Good concept; unfortunately the execution was a fail. The truffle mushroom kulcha had no truffle flavor; not even the 2 slices of truffle on top. The crust was quite tough; so much so that it was difficult to cut even with a steak knife. My jaw was sore after chewing on the crust for a while. The calamari was also quite tough and chewy. The purple potato ragda patty was the only dish I thought was decent. The black truffle jhinga biryani special was also completely void of truffle flavor and a bit overly salty. Then when the check came it had a "Surcharge Fee" of 3.5% without any explanation. It turned out to be a fee to help pay for the kitchen staff. This hit one of my pet peeves. Why is it not the restaurant's responsibility to pay their staff a fair wage? We are already paying for the meal and a 20% tip and they just sneaked in a mandatory "surcharge". While it was just a few dollars it was more of an issue of principles. Why not just be honest and have the guts to raise the prices of the dishes if they can't afford to pay the staff a fair wage?

We originally came to Cobi's to try the food and see if it might be the right place to host our intimate wedding dinner. We tried just about everything, and before we even finished that first meal, it was an absolute YES. The food was phenomenal, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The restaurant itself is so beautiful and unique. It has this calm, elegant, quaint feel that somehow manages to be both fancy and incredibly comfortable. The outdoor area feels like the most charming little secret garden, while the inside is just as beautiful. I absolutely love all of the different mismatched china and thoughtful details throughout the restaurant. Nothing feels overly staged or stuffy--it just has so much character and warmth. And then there is the food. INCREDIBLE. Everything we tried on our first visit was delicious, but seeing our family experience it at our wedding dinner made it even more special. Every single person was completely blown away by the food. We heard over and over again how amazing everything was, which is exactly what you hope for when choosing a restaurant for such an important day. The service is just as memorable. From the very first phone call before we had even visited, Aaron was amazing. Then we met him in person and somehow he was even better! He was also there for our wedding dinner, and I genuinely just love him. He made us feel so welcomed and cared for throughout the entire experience. April was incredibly kind as well, and honestly, the entire staff was wonderful. There is something special about being somewhere where you can tell the people genuinely care about your experience. For our wedding dinner, we had the outdoor area completely to ourselves, and it could not have been more perfect. It was intimate, elegant, romantic, and exactly what we envisioned for our small celebration. We had a car service for our wedding day, but on our first visit we easily found street parking. The location is also fantastic--just a block from the beach and water, which makes the whole experience even better. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Cobi's. From casually walking in for the first time to ultimately trusting them with one of the most important dinners of our lives, they exceeded every expectation. The atmosphere, the food, the people, the service, the location--everything was perfect. Cobi's will always hold such a special place in our hearts, and we will absolutely be back.

We actually went for ice cream afterwards to congratulate ourselves on getting through it. Jasmine has a lovely shaded patio. You place your order at the counter with a guy who's really nice. There are only two menus and the images are faded and extremely hard to read. The best dishes (but still not great) Potato samosas - nothing special Keema paratha - This bread, filled with ground chicken, was fine but not my kind of thing. Plain naan - unusual in that it was flakier than usual. Pan Thay Kwak Swe - thick wheat noodles with chicken drumsticks. This wasn't really anything special. Avoid Tea Leaf Salad. I've had lots of tea leaf salads but never any that I didn't want to eat any more of. The flavor was too pickled. It was also spicier than usual. (I don't mind spice but didn't love the flavor.) Pae Late (J's Special). This dish consists of thin lentil fried dough in broth with chicken. Unfortunately the dough was totally soggy which ruined this dish. I didn't like the flavor of the broth either. No one wanted more of this dish, nor did anyone want to take it home. It would be much better if the fried stuff was served on the side for the customer to add like when I have samosa soup. My family of Burmese food enthusiasts now likes to cite this restaurant as a bad place I had us eat during our trip to LA.
