WELCOMING: It's a very chill vibe. I went in my street clothes. And I've seen family's there. I've been here twice and was able to meet one of the family friends. He made the experience even more welcoming! FOOD: The food is absolutely delish. The chicken curry? Perfect. Just make sure to get a level of spice you can handle as my friend ordered some and didn't lol. The garlic Naan (my favorite) was excellent ! perfect balance of crisp and fluff. But I have to rave about 2 things, the vegetable dish and the history! 2 FAV THINGS: -I didn't order the vegetable dish but I WISH I had. It's like this wonderful looking stew. It looks packed with flavor and...curry? We also learned how long the restaurant has been in the area for. My memory blows, but I think he said 1990. -I love that it's very much a family business from what I was told. Not everyone eats at the restaurant they own. However, apparently the owner here does along with his fam. I'm just very into community and family so that's always nice to hear. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is small and cozy with what seems like traditional music playing :-). The guys in the kitchen also seem very polite as I went past them to use the bathroom. Which was spotless :-). Only suggestion & question: 1.)I can't recall if they have a changing table? And as a new mother I look out for that all the time hehe. Also, I'm not sure about parking. I take a ride-share when I'm there. They are on a hill and might have parking in the back? 2.)I have never been there to see if/when they do a buffet, but the menu is awesome. Something for everyone. I have to start by saying, I eat pretty much EVERYTHING from every cuisine, but in general, I have never liked Indian food. Just being honest. The smell and flavors have never appealed to me, but I decided to come out of my comfort zone and try something different. Plus for some reason everyone is all about the butter chicken right now and I've been wanting to try it. So I ordered Uber eats from here since its close and popular. I think Im converted. I played it safe and ordered butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala and garlic naan. It was all amazing! Again I don't have anything to compare it to cause I don't generally eat it but It was delicious to me. I did expect some level of spice/heat which would have been nice but there was none, but again Im not familiar with the dish. My only gripe is I paid about $40 before Uber charges and expected the naan to be included or at least RICE. Nothing, I paid $6 extra for 2 little pieces of naan, not nearly enough to finish the meal and felt a little ripped off. I would like to go back in person and maybe get a combo or special or something not available on the app to see if I get more for my money. read more

Large menu which being here for the first time, made it difficult to choose but what we ordered: kachumber, mango chutney, keema (lamb) samosa, basmati rice, chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, saag paneer and aloo gobi, regular naan. Everything was delicious. Tasty with just the right amount of spice - we did ask for mild. We were only 3 but what we ordered could have fed 4 easily - lots of take home. Our bill reach, with tip, $125. The service was nice, attentive and they gave us a nice complimentary dessert. Place is simple clean and spacious. We have been living in Playa Vista for over a decade and this was the first time we came here. I wish I could come much earlier and this is a legit place with delicious Indian cuisine with excellent service! We came around 5:30p on a Saturday so the restaurant was entirely empty (when we left at 6:45 it was packed). We were greeted by friendly staff who made some good recommendations on the appetizers and the combo dishes. We decided to go with the appetizer assortment that came with different samosas (one with veggie one with lamb), chicken and some other fried veggie. Thru are all delicious and opened up our appetite for the entree. We ordered three different combos (one chef special with tandoori chicken and curry lamb, one with chicken Korma, and chicken curry. Honestly I love them all but the chicken Korma definitely stands out given its rich and creamy texture! The sides that come with combo are also flavorful: A side of salad, veggie stew, and bean curry. We also ordered a separate side of naans and I highly recommend giving it a try! So fluffy, with a bit charcoal burn at the bottom and perfect for scooping the curry! We decided to pass the dessert in the end. To our surprise the staff brought rice pudding to us for FREE! I tried this place because Uber Eats had a BOGO Free offer with Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer as options. This was the best Butter Chicken I've ever had. I normally am a big fan of Saag Paneer but this one was ok on its own but much improved by the mint and tamarind sauces. The naan and rice were both ok. Just skip the roti. When you branch out from your go-to Indian food spots - and you now have another go-to Indian food spots. Friends took us here, because great friends don't keep food finds like this a secret. With it being our first time here we had to try the staples - tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala and chicken curry (who am I kidding, we always order these dishes). All were amazing in their own way. Tandoori chicken was perfectly cooked. Chicken tikka masala's sauce was extra creamy and rich, which was amazing with our onion naan. Curry was also excellent. I was very excited to try this place but had a really disappointing experience. I can start with the good things. The place is nice looking, they have parking and the price point is decent. What I really wasn't happy with was that the customers service was very subpar. I ordered a chicken dish and the server brought out the wrong one. When I asked about it he apologized and got me the right dish but he took my previous plate , scooped out the chicken curry dish in there , and just dumped the new dish on top so that the different sauces mixed and tasted odd. I was starving so I forced myself to eat it - although it was extremely spicy and I asked for mild. My server was running around to other tables and didn't ask if I needed anything ever - I had to keep flagging him down. Another lady who worked there came over and I told her my concerns over the mixing of dishes and she said she would tell the server not to do that next time and I suggested they give me another plate now - but no one ever did. It was surprising because the servers weren't unfriendly, but just seemed clueless. I also ordered their roti that as listed as whole wheat- but when it came out it looked almost identical to the white flour nan. This is one of our favorite places in the area. It is always consistent. The portions are large and they won't make your food mild, medium or spicy. They have a giant tandoori oven and the naan comes out perfect every time. The owners are extremely nice, and we have never had any problems here. The Taj India Palace is tucked back in a small awkward parking lot. If this is full, don't just drive away, there is plenty of parking around the corner in the neighborhood. We went with another couple and sat in the dine in section. We had thought we would be there forever because two large busses pulled up and this place got packed. To our surprise the service was amazing. They had set up a buffet opinion for this large group, so everything ran very smoothly. If you have a group, this place can handle it. We ordered the Tandoori Chicken for the table to start and it was brought out quickly and it was perfectly cooked. The Chicken Tikka Marsala has a nice kick and is a bit creamier than I'm used to but I very much enjoyed it. We tried several choices of flavored Naan bread. I recommend the onion, it was delicious and I don't usually find it on most menus. Our table and the 2 buses of buffet diners finished around the same time. Even though this place was packed we felt relaxed and we could hear each others speak at the table. Taj India Palace has it down we will be back. read more

I ordered the shrimp masala and it was disgusting! The shrimp was too hard, no flavor and small shrimp not Prawns like they claimed the curry sauce was bland with no flavor. Rubbery shrimp I am upset. They only gave me 8 small shrimp with a whole lot of sauce for $18? I wish I could drive the 20minutes to go return this meal The rice was hard, the only thing I would recommend is the garlic naan and mango lassi if you do decide to come here. Nice selection of dishes: appetizers, curries, biryani, tondoori, etc. I tried the Vegetable Samosas to start and loved how crispy and flavorful it was. It came with two sauces. For the main course, I did the Chicken Biryani and Tikka Masala. Both flavorful and fragrant. The biryani was a tad small in terms of portion size. Service was quite lacking as the server rarely stopped at our table and didn't get us water. Definitely more of a take out spot. read more

Last night was an exception but the Aloo paratha and chicken tikka kebab were inedible due to the amount of salt in both items. The only negative thing to say about this place is: The Parking sucks! There is only a teeny tiny parking lot for the several businesses squished into a teeny tiny mall-like space. And it's easy to miss, you drive right by it, have to look for the address to find it. On Lincoln, just north of Manchester, near LAX. But once you're done muttering over the parking dilemma, the place is adorable. Small and nicely decorated, very Indian. And the food is really good. My test of an Indian restaurant is always the Sag Paneer (creamed spinach with sauteed ricotta squares). It was delicious here. Not overcooked, and with nice spices. Then we had the Vegetable Korma, Samosas, and garlic naan. Everything was good. In some Indian restaurants, all the spices taste the same for each dish. Great experiences for takeout. This is our go to place for Indian food when looking to takeout. I have not experienced the ambience at the sitdown restaurant, but for delivery, we have never been disappointed. Whether you're trying one of the curries, or the buttered chicken, the quality of the food has always been reliable and very tasty. We also enjoyed some of their samosas. we realize that the vegetable has a slightly flaky crust which is more enjoyable for us. When you are trying one of the versions that has meat inside, the outer coating gets a little bit crunchier than we like for our pallet.
