It was amazing, as always! We tried the Greek donuts for the first time and absolutely loved them--they are delicious. I also left a note with a special request, and they not only read it but even sent birthday wishes--thank you for that!

This is the first time I have tried this out and it didn't disappoint at all. At first, it just looks like another fast food place but it was much more. There's a whole menu for gyros/pita and OMG I wanted to try the steak that was new and can't forget the classic beef/lamb gyro. The staff immediately greeted us with a friendly smile. Didn't feel overwhelming or intimidated either. Ordered what I wanted and let me just tell you, it was so good and huge. Very fulfilling to the last bite. The place is cleaned and plenty of seating and parking too. What an experience!

Love, love, love Nick the Greek! It's always such a reliable choice when traveling, and so glad we finally have one in KC. Very clean little spot with counter service, and a few inside dining tables. Super friendly and courteous staff, and delicious food. I always get falafel, and on this visit we tried the Nick's fries, plus a Pork Souvlaki pita, too. The fries are a delicious combo upgrade option (Protein, Fresh Cut Fries, Garlic, Feta, Scallions, Dill, Spicy Yogurt). Everything was amazing!

I had been wanting to try this place. Ordered the gyro beef/lamb plate that came with Greek salad and fries. Gyro meat was solid but it came with pita triangles so I'd get gyro sandwich next time. Tzatziki was over dill'd. Fries were solid but seemed almost freeze dried. Young lady working the register was helpful and nice. Just ok.

Best gyros in our area but tonight my wife and I are splurging on Nick's Froyo, a terrific frozen yogurt desert. Better than ice cream!

After…read morelooking through the menu and photos beforehand, I landed somewhere between casual and upscale with jeans, a button-up, and a jacket. At first I felt slightly overdressed, but as the evening went on the crowd definitely skewed more polished, though overall it still leaned approachable and relaxed. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and one of my favorite parts was being able to watch the kitchen in action. The lighting and music might be a little challenging for some older guests, but we had no trouble carrying on conversation at the table. Service was on the slower side, though we were there to enjoy the evening and never felt rushed. We started with the spanakopita and grilled octopus. The spanakopita was excellent, perfectly crisp phyllo with a filling that leaned more spinach-forward than feta-heavy, which I really enjoyed. The octopus was fresh and flavorful, though it wasn't as much of a hit with the rest of the table. For salads, we tried the roasted beet salad and the watermelon feta salad. Both were fine, but on a return visit I'd probably skip them and save room for more appetizers or mains. For entrées, I ordered the lamb shank while my wife had the moussaka. Both dishes were excellent, but the moussaka absolutely stole the show. It's served in a square baking vessel and is rich, comforting, and easily large enough to share between two maybe even three people. To finish, we took baklava to go and stayed for the crème brûlée, which was exactly what you want from a classic version of the dish: creamy custard with a perfectly caramelized top. Overall, Paros delivered a really enjoyable evening with a beautiful atmosphere, strong entrées, and a menu that feels elevated without being pretentious.

Walking into the bright, tastefully appointed restaurant, I was pleased to see it wasn't the over-the-top, kitschy blue and white I'd feared. The maître d' was pleasant and accommodating when three of us arrived 30 minutes early for our party-of-seven reservation, and we were happily seated at the bar for a pre-dinner drink. As I passed into the dining room, I noticed the window into the kitchen, which added to the ambiance. The waitstaff were smartly attired, professional, and polished. Our servers were knowledgeable, efficient, and truly outstanding--it's been years since I've experienced such solid table service. For starters, we shared several plates. Unfortunately, our tasting board (an assortment of vegetables, pita, hummus, and tzatziki) tasted as if someone had taken a salt grinder to the whole thing. On the upside, the fried chickpeas were a fun addition, and the stuffed grape leaves were delightful. Three of us ordered the scallops and risotto for our entrées, and that's where things unraveled. The scallops were cooked to perfection, but the risotto was overwhelmingly salty. My sister took one bite and sadly said, "It's too salty." I tried mine and had to agree. Our father--ever the Midwesterner--finished his dish despite the saltiness rather than complain. I quietly informed our waiter that all three risottos were over-salted. I share this because I truly wanted to give Paros five stars: the service and atmosphere were incredibly enjoyable, and the wine list (with plenty of Greek options) was terrific. Sadly, someone must have been heavy-handed with the salt last night. I'd love to return and see if it was just an off evening--3.5 stars from me.

The salad, pita and hummus, came with the plate and everything was delicious. I tried the Kefta kabob plate with mixed meats. Basha Bash: I really wanted to love this spot. Based on the…read morestellar reviews, I was excited for a hidden Greek gem in the heart of OP, but unfortunately, our experience was far from an "Opa!" moment. The Service I arrived first and the place was nearly empty, yet the energy felt frantic. The server/ hostess was very rushed and business-like but seemed overwhelmed, running around like a chicken with her head cut off. After declining a black tea multiple times (once they realized they were out of chai), We had to practically stop her in mid-step for every follow-up once the rest of my party arrived. She never stopped on her own to ask us if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our meal. The Food The meal was a series of "weird" choices: The Hummus Situation: Our entrees were supposed to come with hummus, Rice and a side salad. Instead of serving The hummus with the entree, it was plopped onto the side salad plate before the entree arrived. I've eaten a lot of Mediterranean food, and I've never seen it served that way. The Garlic Sauce: This was a huge letdown. It looked and tasted like straight mayonnaise with a hint of garlic powder--not the authentic, pungent toum or A fresh bright white garlic sauce you'd expect. The tzatziki sauce might have been the best thing on the plate as it tasted fresh and authentic. The Meat: This was a Jekyll and Hyde as some of the meat was tender but some was overcooked and it was like that for everybody's meal whether they got beef, lamb or chicken. The Rice: Every entree was served over saffron rice that was dry, almost like it had been sitting out sunbathing for the day. The Falafel: Good crunch, but the inside was on the dry side. The Vibe As someone with a background in the industry, one thing really stood out: while our server was struggling to keep up with the only two tables in the restaurant, a cook with an apron was sitting in the lobby looking bored and disinterested. It's never a good look for staff to be lounging in front of customers regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Final Verdict Maybe it was just an off night, but for the price point, it doesn't compete. When you compare the quality and value to places like Meddys, Darna, or Mr. Gyros, this was extremely subpar. Sadly, I won't be rushing back.
