I'm not a big fan of gyros in general, not that they're bad, but they don't satisfy anything for me. However, I do enjoy the gyros here. Value is almost unbeatable and taste is good. Usually I opt for Aladdin Fries though, they're the best thing on the menu. Fries loaded with feta cheese and your choice of meat all packed together looking easy to conquer but ending up filling you up for hours, what could be better? They're just $11 and fill me up so I can only applaud them. It's not the cleanest spot or anything, but you're not here for that. You might think about it like I do, but in the end you know what you're getting and get to see the food over the counter. You also get to see the crowd of people waiting for their order so you know it's popular, good, and probably going to be fresh by the time you order because they don't have anything old to reheat for you since the orders are constantly flowing. We ordered one combo plate, and the meat was so tender! Wasn't a huge fan of the rice as it had more of a Southeast Asian kick to it rather than Middle Eastern. They also have another restaurant further down the Ave; I think that restaurant is a little bigger, but I still would not recommend it for seating large groups. GET: ALADDIN FRIES- fresh out of the oil fries smothered with meat from the spinning spit and your choice of Tzatziki sauce or garlic sauce. My guy friends tend to like their fries with the lamb/beef combo, but I think I prefer the chicken because it's less rich and has a heavenly, dry curry rub. I also ask for light sauce because they tend to pour it with a heavy hand. Service is usually quick (15min or less), but the kitchen is cramp and they only have two or three workers working at once. They are always very friendly and are prompt to take orders. Their gyros and shwarmas are good, but Aladdin fries are pure comfort food on comfort food. The warm plate was incredible on a cold breezy night. We also tried the Chocolate Roll Baklava. It was a good size, actually it was nearly double the size vs the typical baklava you get elsewhere. It was sweet but not too sweet, as expected with a natural honey filling. The chocolate gives it a great chocolatey spin to the nutty honey taste. I like it a lot.
