Rude staff lacking in any talent whatsoever. Cathy is possibly the worst stylist I've ever been to.

I found Alagria after just passing it, and I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. My stylist was Kim, who has years of experience and curly hair. I HAD very long curly hair in a "U" shape (so I felt confident she could cut curly hair). I went into specific detail that I wanted to cut 4-5 inches of dead hair off but keep as much length as I could and the same style (U- shape), with long bangs for when I straighten it. I had pictures, and we talked about a plan for about 10 minutes before she started cutting. The first cut was a straight cut at my shoulders. She didn't keep the shape or length; she just chopped 12+ inches off like it was nothing. Once she realized she messed up, she tried to cut the top half of my hair longer to hide her mistake and then straightened my hair with a curling iron like it was 1995 still. Two weeks later after hating the way my hair looked I booked an appointment at another salon and the guy there fixed my botched hair and even mentioned he could see her first cut and how she tried to cover it up. Never go here if you're on a long hair journey. I am forced to start over. In fact, just avoid this salon if you can. read more

Not impressed. I did like their pre-appointment questionnaire-- was very thorough and professional, plus a friend had recommended the salon, so I had high hopes/expectations. I originally booked a cut and highlights with Kim, but after realizing I had plans the night of the appointment I called and changed it to just a cut, citing that I wouldn't have time for both. That was a few days before the actual appointment. About 10min before I had to leave for the appointment, I got a call and then text asking if I could come a half hour later since the stylist was 'running behind.' I said that was ok, I should still have enough time. But then, I show up and ended up sitting there an additional 20 MINUTES. Not only that, but the receptionist had just said 'she'll be right with you' and then even after I asked how much longer it would be 10 min later, just said 'oh she's almost done'... without a single apology or any sort of acknowledgment that it would be nearly an hour after my original appointment time. A simple 'I'm so sorry for the wait' would have made such a huge difference. I thought for sure thought that the stylist would apologize for running an hour behind but NOPE. No acknowledgement whatsoever. She was nice enough but I was just pissed at that point. For a brand new client? And she did an acceptable but by no means amazing job on my hair. Much less effort than I expected given the thorough questionnaire. But like-- how do you run an hour behind? And what if I couldn't have waited? Because it seems to me they tried to fit another client in where they clearly did not have time to after I already altered my appointment to get out earlier. Price was $55 which is on the low end compared to where I've gone before so I did appreciate that. But overall extremely rude and I will not be back to that stylist, perhaps even to the salon at all. read more

Best Hair salon experience I've had so far! The bathroom was so clean and smelled good. There were snacks and drinks available which was nice:) Everything was just so nice, most importantly I had Kimmy and she did above and beyond with my hair as well as taking care of me as a customer, making sure I was comfortable and all that! I visited Alagria Salon on November 3rd...& at almost a week later I am still elated! I saw Kimmy who was beyond amazing from the beginning to end of my visit. I seriously cannot say enough great things about her & the salon as a whole. I was greeted when I walked in & was told they would let Kimmy know I was there. Kimmy was warm & so genuinely sweet. She was endearing & listened to all my concerns & wishes. She welcomed my showing her numerous pictures of my hair from the past. I found this salon on Yelp & picked it on a whim. I was desiring a full highlight from someone who knew what they were doing. Kimmy did not disappoint. I chose to do a full highlight & added some lowlights since I was missing how my hair used to look with some contrast. I also must mention no one coerced me into writing a review... this is all my own drive to share with others that this place is great!! read more

I was so fortunate to find Kim at Alagria! I've been with her for the last 3 or so years, and I always walk out beaming and feeling like a million bucks! I can go in and say, "I need a change" with the color or cut, and I never have an idea what I want that change to be- but Kim always has great ideas. Her ideas always take into consideration the season, my hair type and current trends. The salon is a great atmosphere- always clean, stocked with great magazines and all the staff are friendly. Do not go for an updo! I was extremely disappointed with the updo I received by Laurie this past weekend for a Military Ball. I came in with a picture of a messy bun and left with a braided net type thing all up my head. It was a waste of $85 because I had to completely take it out and redo the entire hairstyle myself before going to the ball. The other woman who was doing an updo did a great job one one of my other friends but during the duration of the day myself and 2 other friends had Laurie do our hair and 2 of us had to completely redo it ourselves. Once we warned the 3rd girl she had Laurie redo her hair 3 times to get the simple bun look she wanted. I have learned my lesson and will never get my hair done for an event again. read more

When you walk in, it is warm and friendly. All the staff is smiling and welcoming. We love Marianna! This is a place for children or adults.

On August 11 my cousin and I were in to have hair done for a family wedding. I explained what I wanted done, my cousin had a picture, never again and I would not suggest this salon to anyone. we looked better going in than when we were finished. After having a re-do, we went back to our hotel and had do our own hair. Not only was this a waste of money but a waste of time on a very busy day. I wished I had a picture to show what a disaster this was. read more

Kim Matthews is a wonderful stylist and a great person ... been going to her for years . Until she fired me as a client of hers because she saw that I had a new photo on Facebook that looked like I had my hair done elsewhere so she took it upon herself to cancel my upcoming appointment with her. Without talking to me first ! Then she Facebook messages me shortly thereafter and asks me if I need my upcoming appointment , I said oh I was going to call you during normal business hours to cancel , but my appointment isn't until next week! She reminded me of her cancelation policy , not needed because SHE canceled my appointment ! Not me! Then she ended it all by firing me as a client. I had no intention of leaving the salon , just wanted to call her out on her non-professionalism. Lets face it , the pic could have been old , I may have still wanted to keep my appointment. I feel like hairdressers always do whatever they want to my hair and don't actually listen to what I tell them I want done so I am always a little nervous when I go for a trim. I saw Kimmy a couple of weeks ago and she really listened when I told her what I wanted. She did exactly what I asked for and made my hair look so much healthier without taking a lot of the length. I will definitely be going back to her for my future hair appointments! read more

This review is for EMILY O for LASH EXTENSIONS. I have very sensitive eyes to the point where I just couldn't be bothered with mascara anymore- I was always weepy and smudging and just had my first baby and couldn't be bothered with makeup so I figured I'd give lash extensions a shot. I saw Emily's work on Instagram and was very impressed so I made an appointment! Emily is so friendly, and professional. Her room is cozy, warm and she has a great relaxing music playlist. I wanted a very natural look for my first set so I went with the classic lashes- I fell in love! They were absolutely gorgeous! I had them filled over the next few months and decided I was in the mood for a more bold look. I let the classics fall and my eyelashes were even longer and healthier than before my extensions put on! For my next lash appointment I went with her Volume lashes and they're FAB! They still look natural but really bring out my eye color because they're super black and full. I get compliments every day and I recommend Emily to everyone! I will never go anywhere else! Laurie Tavares did the makeup for my wedding a few weeks ago and did an absolutely fantastic job! We did a test run, and she was very open to my ideas and concerns. I was an older bride who does not typically wear a lot of makeup and did not want to look "overdone." She listened and gave my makeup just the right touch - it looked great while I still looked like me. On the wedding day, she came to my house and did not only me but my maid of honor and my mom and mother in law. Again, she did just the right thing for everyone, and we all got tons of compliments! She is also a lovely person whom you can see truly enjoys what she does. I plan to use her as often as possible whenever I have special occasions! I can't recommend her highly enough - very skilled and sensitive to everyone's needs. The salon was great and organized at handling all the arrangements. With all the details to worry about in planning a wedding, it was so lovely not to have worry about this one. Wonderful all around! read more
